I wrote a quick tip with an excellent review that I just retracted This place has good food but the 1 star is for the lack of service and incompetent management. I have been to the restaurant many times because of the food. It takes FOREVER to get your food. This has happened now at least 4 - 6 times. This last time was a Sunday at 5 pm There is only 1 sushi chef and it took 1 and 1/2 hours to get our sushi. There was only 1 other table seated and it is clear they care more about their take out business than their seated customers. We complained and the hostess offered us dessert ( we said no thank you) and she took our phone number We noticed many other complaint messages at the front desk. Note to management: get a 2nd sushi chef and pay attention to not only the take out customers. Will never go back. Ooka from now on. At least we get served in under an hour. read more

We have both eaten in and taken out food from this restaurant several times. While the food is generally pretty good, the service is, at best, inconsistent and erratic. With both dine in and take out, food delivery takes an unacceptably long time, and often the order is incomplete. For our most recent take out order on a Sunday night, we ordered seven items by phone, and they were read back to us. When I went to pick up the order, the total seemed too low. When I asked what the order consisted of, they only had three items! I told them what the missing items were, and they told me it would just be a few minutes. Forty minutes later (I wasn't even offered a cup of tea, a discount, or an apology), I asked about the status of my order, and I was told by one girl that "the other girl was handling it". I told her to cancel the order and I walked out. My wife called the restaurant to complain, and she was told that they were very busy and only had one sushi chef. When she asked to speak with the manager, she was told that they don't have one and that the owner, Jack, wasn't around! I refuse to support a restaurant that has provides such blatantly unprofessional service and inexperienced management. The restaurant is apparently run by young kids without any supervision and without a clue how to properly cater to their clientele. There are several other good sushi restaurants nearby (such as Ooka), which never seem to have such issues, and which will get my business, instead of Wild Ginger, going forward. I recently started working in the area, and have been to WG now a bunch of times. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and you rarely have to wait for a place to sit. I recommend the thai spicy garlic (i think that's what its called) dish. It is my favorite. I've ordered it a bunch of times, and each time I get it, it is better than the previous time. I went to Wild Ginger II after visiting their first location in Huntington Valley a few times. Similar menu, but I was not as impressed with this restaurant, due to their smaller size (awful on the Friday night that I happened to go) with tables cramped very close together. And the wait staff was not as attentive as I would have liked. If I recall, we had to ask for water refills each time we needed them, and waited quite awhile to receive our check and get our change. I probably wouldn't go back, which is a shame, because I have enjoyed the other location so much. For people who like BYOB, though... there's a wine and spirit shop just a couple door down! read more

I originally went here because I thought it was the same Wild Ginger vegetarian as the one in NYC. I was a little disappointed when I found out that it wasn't. The first time I went there I got the Fantastic Couple and it was good. Went back again and got the same thing and it wasn't that great. It was super dry and the sauce was almost inedibly salty. The third time I went I ordered the Garlic and Ginger sauce chicken lunch special and it was pretty good..the best dish Ive had there so far. We went one Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty dirty in the light. The floor was dirty under the front desk and the booths all had crumbs in the cracks. Theres a lack of good vegetarian restaurants around here. So they get bonus points for that. All in all I would go back because the food is decent, and they seem like nice people. I love coming here especially for lunch. They have great Thai specials that are very large and don't leave you hungry. I ordered Pad Thai with miso soup and garden salad and my sister had the Red panang curry with the same. Our bill was only $17. I've also done takeout for dinner and that is excellent as well. It is rare that we get a meal with just the 2 of us and no baby and Wild Ginger is definitely the perfect place to go. We don't even mind the 30minute drive because the food is amazing EVERY time no matter what we order. We love the atmosphere, the quality, and generous entree portions. We try something different every trip and even enjoy our leftovers which is something I rarely do. We even love our waiter. It is very seldom that we find a waiter that we genuinely enjoy. He does not come off as the traditional "fake" waiter/waitress and Is very informative. read more

Let me say it right now, I'm obsessed with Sushi. I could eat sushi all of the time. I've never had anything at WG2 besides sushi, but the sushi I've had there is excellent. I definitely would suggest the Buddha's Roll. IT'S AMAZING and and unlike any other sushi I've had before. As much as I like the food at WG2, the service can be really bad. It's probably smarter to just get take-out. That way you can enjoy the amazing food without getting annoyed with the very polite, but also very slow servers. I have gotten take out and dined in a few times without an issues. I usually get the same few items every time I go. The sesame chicken, the pork dumpling and a tuna roll all I would recommend. Went with a group of four last night and we all got different meals. Everyone liked what they got. Staff is good. I read some other foods and I wanted to say this is not Buddakan in the city. Not super impressed with their Thai food. But my partner and I order sushi take out from there a couple times a month. Their special rolls are pretty good and they accommodate changes that we want to make. Favorites include the yoshi roll, dancing roll, and spicy tuna tempura rolls (tuna swapped out for salmon). Make sure to place your order early, as their wait times are long and not accurate. I am so disappointed about how this placed has been running. The quality of food has gotten significantly worse. I would give zero stars if I could. A roll I get very often was messed up. For $15 a Yoshi roll has spicu tuna, shrimp tempura and spicy crab on top. It barely had spicy crab and had NO spicy tuna. When I called to give the restaurant a heads up I overhear the waitress say someone wants to talk to a manager, I don't want to talk to her, I. Then get hung up on. I called back and actually was able to explain the situation to someone I thought was the manager, when she asked the waitress what the situation was I overheard her basically calling me a liar. I drove back to the restaurant because they needed to see how bad the roll was and I wanted a refund. The young girl who was supposed to be the manager only refunded me for that roll. I am so disappointed with the customer service. I will NEVER order from there again and I will never recommend anyone there. read more

I went here on a Friday evening as my first experience here. I assumed the experience would be similar to the Huntington Valley Wild Ginger. This Jamison restaurant is on the small side. Going to the restrooms, you have to pass where the kitchen door is and the hallway desk where the wait staff puts in your order on the computer. It just felt like a really bad location for the bathrooms. The restaurant was 80% filled with diners so I assumed my experience would be positive. The place is really loud; there are no sound dampeners or rugs or anything to dampen all the noises of diners in conversation, the restaurant's phone ringing, and the restaurant's too loud music (really, why do many restaurants blare music anyway?). It seemed to take too long to get our appetizers, which were very simple; steamed dumplings and seaweed salad. 45 minutes after ordering, our main dishes still hadn't come out. When we arrived and were seated I noticed half the diners already had food in front of them, so I wouldn't be under the impression our wait should be longer than reasonable. From sitting there all that time I noticed tons of take out orders were being filled, which makes sense why people who take the time to sit to eat are waiting longer than they should. In my opinion, a restaurant which knows there will be a longer than average wait for the diners' order ought to put a sign on the door or tell people before they are seated and settled in that there will probably be a longer wait than reasonably expected. The excessive noise would keep me from eating here at dinner or a busy time unless that music is also blaring even when there are fewer people. Otherwise I may have still eaten here once in a while. However, the excessive wait time to eat will keep me from ordering food in any regard again. read more

I usually feel ok about writing a review for a restaurant when I receive poor service but I'm a huge fan of Wild Ginger so it almost pains me to do this. But being that this is the second time this has happened, I figured it was warranted. On Christmas Eve I placed an order for two vegetarian dishes and one chicken dish. This was a take out order. I confirmed, twice with the young lady on the phone that the two vegetarian dishes would in fact be vegetarian. She said "yes" and gave me my total. When I picked up the order, after 25 minutes I was told it would be another 10 minutes. Not a big deal. When the kid brought our food out I confirmed, for a third time that the two dishes were vegetarian. He said "I don't know, I didn't take the order". Fair enough. We drive home (Perkasie, a bit of a hike but like I said, I was a huge fan of Wild Ginger) & open up our food. GUESS WHAT!? Not vegetarian. We were given real chicken when we ordered the fake chicken. Too far from the restaurant to warrant a call to get it replaced and being that it was the second time this has happened to us, I decided to just eat a bowl of cereal for dinner and never go to Wild Ginger again. As a vegan, it is incredible disappointed to be told you will be getting a dish you can eat, pay the $15 for that dish only to get home and not be able to eat it. So, the menu may seem like a dream come true to a vegetarian or vegan but BEWARE, you don't always get what you want. read more

I just had lunch here today (Wednesday) around 12:30 with my 1 year old. The food was light and flavorful, best Thai food I've had in the area so far. We got the fake chicken dumplings and red curry tofu. The salad that came with the entree had the yummiest dressing, some kind creamy sweet coconut sauce. My little boy dipped everything in it. The waitress was really sweet and prompt. Also there were only 3-4 other couples so there wasn't any noise. Staff was all very friendly. I can't believe I got all that good food for $12.75 . Pretty good place. I had the sweet potato roll. It was just fair, crispy outside like any other roll. The inside, however, was too mushy. My mom and I split the sesame chicken and the salmon wrapped avocado. The sesame chicken was different than the typical dish. It wasn't fried or sweet. I thought it was just fair, and my mom thought it was great. The salmon wrapped in avocado was amazing! It was tasty and delicious! My fiancée got the miso soup and udon noodles. Both come recommend. On a second note, the hospitality is great. I simply made the comment that I wished my fiancée ordered a salad rather than the soup so I could eat his cucumbers( my favorite), and the waitress brought be out a few cucumbers! I got hooked at the worst time... I moved across the country a few months after they opened. It will more than likely be the first thing I eat when I visit my old home (It's just down the road from there) A huge selection for vegetarians, and the portions are huge too! They have this tuna sashimi avocado pizza thing that makes my mouth water to this day. I already know what I'm having before I walk back in the door. Worth a try. We have gone here (dine in and take-out) probably 15 times in the past year. It is close to our house... In early 2012, I was very impressed with the place - service and food were very good, atmosphere was fine. Then, in mid-2012, something went wrong. Our take-out orders were never right and very slow. The food quality then went down a bit - my favorite Massaman curry just wasn't the same. Now, the service seems to have improved. However, the decor looks worn and the place needs a deep cleaning, especially the hall in the back and the ladies room. My husband says the sushi is usually good. Have ordered from this restaurant about 4 times, mostly take out. In general, the wait here for food is typically 45 min, which is about twice as long as in other restaurants. But each time the actual time to get the food is longer and longer and this last visit waited an hour and a half. They will take our payment for the take out and say it will take a little longer, and then you are stuck waiting for your food for another 45 minutes. This is not acceptable, an honest time quote should be given when ordering so you can make a decision ahead of time if you want to wait. Will not be ordering here again. read more

Wild Ginger is tucked away on a root 262, I've gone passed it at least 100 times without noticing it. This time I happened to stop by the shopping plaza and noticed it. It was on Monday around lunch time, when we went, in the place was completely empty, so I was unsure about the place. But we decided to give it a try, my wife ordered a Thai asparagus with mushrooms and chicken and I had Sushi and Sushimi lunch special and both dishes were great. The service was pretty good too. For desert I got fried banana with green tea ice cream, which tasted great. Definitely recommend to try the place. read more

Ordered takeout. Decided to give the restaurant another try for Pad Thai. Well unfortunately no improvement. I ordered chicken Pad Thai. It was not fresh. The noodle seemed like it had sat out all day. The chicken was dry and grizzly. The sauce was non-existent. This whole dish looked entirely beige. There was no greenery, no cilantro, no egg just dried noodle, fatty chicken and stale crushed peanuts. I ate about four mouthfuls trying different ingredients hoping that I would go find something to like but became disgusted. I put the lid on it the dish and threw it out. I don't like to waste food. The other dish I ordered was Twilight, fried tofu, eggplant and other vegetables which again was flavorless and instead of vegetables being crisp or al dente they were mushy. The tofu was soggy and the other vegetables, red and green pepper soggy as well. I was really disappointed with the lack of care taken to prepare the food. Food here is not consistent. Recently, we've been disappointed - greasy noodles and curry that lacked flavor. We probably won't return.

The food and service were excellent we had a good meal. I had soup and then sushi both were delicious. Skip the fake plant on the plate- I'm not sure the last time it was cleaned. My husband got a curry dish and the curry was delicious. The price was appropriate. My suggestion to the restaurant is that it could have been much cleaner. Please get your staff to clean better so that when I come back the review will be 5 stars! Went again, again food was good we had the same waiter and had good service. The phone rings soooo loud and constant for the to go orders which is very distracting and reduces the "atmosphere". The chop sticks are individually packed-love that but the forks are not the cleanest. Our waiter served our food with his thumb in it. So attentive a nice but needs additional training. read more

I went there for lunch today and felt that the food quality and service was good enough to get me to return. Their portion sizes are appreciable. The lunch specials come with a salad AND a soup. The soup was chock-full of chicken and veggies. The dressing on the salad was super yummy. I was a bit disappointed with how little beef was in my spicy basil dish. There were way too many onions.
