After settling on our new house, we enjoyed our first meal in the neighborhood at Rice & Curry!!! We kicked off our next chapter in life with a bang as we thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. I started with the thai iced tea- DUH! It did not disappoint. For an appetizer we went with the fresh spring rolls which were just so incredibly refreshing. J got the chicken pad thai with medium spice and I went with the green curry with chicken. Both entrees were chefs kiss! I couldn't wait to enjoy mine a second time around for lunch the next day. Rice & Curry became my favorite Thai place within 5 minutes of tasting their food. Was immaculate. Such a cute little tablecloth/cloth napkin type of restaurant. Definitely a hidden gem; We went on a Sunday afternoon and practically had the place to ourselves. We started with the crispy spring rolls and Thai curry puffs and they were absolutely delicious. For my meal, I went with the Seafood Drunken noodle and my goodness did it not disappoint. The table favorite though was crazily the House Fried Rice. It was so good none of us could stop digging in it. For what is such a "throwaway" dish at some places, this place has perfected that dish. We went two weeks ago and still take about that darn fried rice. Next time I'll be trying the Pineapple fried rice as my main meal! read more

We came in a little after 8 pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant wasn't crowded and we we seated promptly and had attentive service. We were told that they had a brisk take out business that night. Our four came out quickly and hot. The crispy tofu was crispy and tasty. The soft shell crabs were in a delicious broth and crispy. My noodle dish with chicken was right on the money. The staff were nice and the food was amazing! I like that it's a BYOB. They have both Thai and Japanese/sushi so there's a wide variety of dishes. I got the Tom Kha Gai soup which was great as well as the Authentic Thai Basil which was so flavorful. My friend got the Thai Three Flavors with tofu and I loved the way the tofu was cooked. Our experience at Rice & Curry was great. It was the week of Thanksgiving but also a birthday. The food was great. We tried the Tapas platter. Everything was tasty and the right temperature. We ordered 3 entrees Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles and a Rice bowl. The food was well seasoned and well presented. Our server was wearing many hats but was cheerful and managed to work the dining room and takeaway. The atmosphere is peaceful and the decor was lovely and comfortable. Food was okay, but service was severely lacking. From the start, we had to flag them down each time to get water, wine glasses, open the wine bottle ,and then to order. Apps and entrees were served to our table at differing times, sometimes with a 10 minute wait between people at the table. Lack of service continued through the end if the meal, with them clearing only a couple of plates. They never asked if we wanted dessert, we had already been there for 2 hours , so we didn't order any. When the check came, we still had multiple entree plates still uncleared from the table. This is our favorite Asian restaurant in the area. It is an undiscovered Gem with truly amazing fresh and clean dishes like the Pineapple Fried Rice, the best dish on the menu with loads of fresh ingredients like scallions, chicken, and amazing spices all served in a juicy Pineapple! The appetizers are delicious with the Calamari or dumplings for example, such a treat! The prices are reasonable, and there isn't a lot of atmosphere, but it's clean and the food is great! read more

Rice & Curry Asian Bistro is a Thai/Asian fusion house on Limekiln Pike in Maple Glen, PA. Although I ate outside at a table under the overhang, I did go in looking to let someone know I was there. The dining room was attractive, and in a post-Covid world I would definitely chose to dine inside. Their menu is divided between standard Thai dishes and Japanese sushi. There may be compromises with strict authenticity for the sake of broadening market appeal, but not so much that close familiarity is missing. In fact, my late lunch and the green curry takeout for family were quite good and definitely worthwhile. I, for one, understand the business decision to find a reasonable common denominator in ingredients and style, as long as the fundamental touch, feel and flavor of the food remains. This, Curry & Rice succeeded in doing. My Spicy Noodles (not "Drunken Noodles") were prepared with medium width rice pasta, rather than the traditional broader noodles, but the sauce was right on and plenty hot enough, with a strong variety of fresh veggies (carrot, string bean, onion, green/red pepper). So, while there was less surface area for the sauce to cling to, it wasn't really noticeable on the tongue, although there was less chew. They also decorated the bowl with an iceberg wedge, which seemed incongruous. Too, my Tom Kha Soup was excellent, with a pleasing hot/cool profile of lemongrass and coconut milk, with a large supply of shredded chicken and fresh mushrooms. I tipped the rim of the bowl to my lips to suck out every drop. My son liked his Green Curry takeout when he got to it hours later. I appreciated their lunch menu provided somewhat smaller plates at commensurate prices. I was able to push away from the table feeling satisfied without being overfull. Rice & Curry is located in a one story building to the left of Mac's beverage that used to be the Pistachio Grill. The menu consists of sushi, poki bowls and several Thai options. The dining area is to the left as you walk in and its filled with about 15 tables. I was seated immediately and picked a table right at the front window. After perusing the menu i ordered a rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll & kuma roll. All three rolls were well made, colorful and above average in size. The kuma roll pieces were so big i almost had to take two bites and the spicy tuna roll was one of the spiciest tuna rolls I've had. Overall i would say the sushi was above average. I'm not sure what it was but the flavor our the spicy tuna and rainbow roll were not what I'm used too. I can't put my finger on what it was. read more

Not a problem but we ordered an app and soup came with the one entree. They came out and then seconds later the main course was served. That part felt rushed and the table space was limited. So it was slightly overwhelming. Especially since the server placed hot plates directly in front of our seated 1 year old (an inch away). Def would suggest ordering takeout over dining in. read more

This place is a hidden gem, in a nondescript plaza. The inside is cute and cozy, but the service and food are what makes this place awesome. My wife , my mother and I went out to celebrate my birthday and my mother having had a good meat here before wanted to take us back. It is very pleasant to look at, not too crowded. They do not have a liquor license so it is bring your own for this. for starters my wife and mother split and order of springs rolls. I had the shrimp dumplings. For some reason there was a delay and by the time the dumplings appeared the spring rolls had been eaten. The shrimp dumplings qualified, barely, by each having a single tiny shrimp on top the rest was stuffed with a very delicate fish paste. It was quite good but I felt the heading 'shrimp' dumpling bordered on misleading. For the main course I had the duck, my mother the soft shelled crab and my wife had the salmon. All were nicely arranged with vegetables and broth. Despite me being the only one to order a meal with the 'hot' warning on the menu we all noted the overwhelming flavor was PEPPER. There were a lot of other, complex flavors in there but you had to search around for them. I was expecting the heat but the rest of my party wasn't. We had a pleasant time but it didn't really stand out as a great time. Service was a little slow and at no point did anyone ask if we were enjoying the food. Not being able to serve liquor is a bit of a bother but can be compensated for and with time hopefully the other little bumps will work themselves out. read more
