My husband and I visited this restaurant weekly a few years ago. Ever since they opened the New Hope location, this restaurant has gone down hill. It took about 25 minutes for our meal to arrive and we were trying to get to a movie, so we had to rush and eat. We were excited to try this place because my wife is pescatarian and sometimes has trouble finding a good variety of menu options. We were extremely disappointed. First off, everything was bland as can be. The chicken teriyaki was essentially an unseasoned piece of chicken breast with an extremely thin "teriyaki" sauce drizzled over it. We ordered 4 different rolls. The salmon roll had the tiniest piece of salmon I've ever seen in a roll. The Naruto roll was bland and just overpowered by how much cucumber was in it. All of the rolls were meh at best. The general tso's shrimp was 80% breading and 20% shrimp. Plus, it wasn't even crispy, just a soggy mess. The only item I enjoyed (my wife said it was meh) was the spring roll. I hate to say, but I can't give this place another chance. Once is enough after that. read more

5 Of us went to Wild Ginger 2 in Jamison for lunch last Saturday, ordering from the lunch menu. The food was good overall,( 4+). Two complaints were lack of communication with server(2+), and food not spicy. The lunch prices were reasonable and soup and salad were included.(5) Service and Ambiance--- The service was quite mediore (2+), as not only did we wait a long time in ordering, but there was no communication by server when 1 of the 5 meals was delayed at least 10 minutes in serving. We had to ask for more water. There was only one other table occupied while we were there. The music was less than desirable, not appropriate for their ambiance, and we had to ask for the volume of the music to be decreased to hear one another. Which they did. Food-- I had mussamum curry with shrimp with brown rice, it was cooked to order without onions as I requested, but no snow peas which were in the description. I got miso soup and salad. It was very good but entree was not spicy at all. My hubby had garlic shrimp with brown rice which he asked for spicy, but it was not much at all. Tasty, not oily. He had chicken tom yam soup, and salad. The soup and entree was very good. Another had garlic chicken, dumpling soup, salad. The chicken was good, but it too had no snow peas as it said on the menu. Another had lunch bento box chicken teriyaki with fried rice, soup. The other person had beef with brocholi, soup and salad. Both enjoyed it all. We ordered takeout when visiting the area. I will preface this by saying I dislike sushi so while I cannot speak personally to the taste, the presentation was beautiful and all who partook enjoyed it. That being said, the garlic chicken and the chili chicken were both sufficiently spicy. The garlic chicken had a nice mix of vegetables. Portions were quite generous as well. While I am not local to compare to other nearby places, this was a solid choice for dinner for me and my family this particular night. read more

Very underwhelming. We spontaneously came here on a Sunday night after the restaurant we wanted to eat at was booked. There is a Wild Ginger we live near in Huntingdon Valley (that we LOVE!) however we were informed there is no relation between the two. Inside is small, sushi "bar" is also very small and only one worker. The sushi chef groaned and sighed the entire time so it's obvious he didn't want to be there. We got vegetable tempura appetizer, 4 sushi rolls and pad thai. The appetizer was sooo greasy and dipping sauce was too thin. Sushi was ok, but too small of portions. I always expect 8-10 pieces per roll but was given less than that here. Only 5 pieces of tempura?! This place is crazy. Pad thai was so spicy (indicated on menu as spicy so we were warned), we couldn't finish. read more

We went once before and thought we'd try it again a year later to see if it had improved but the only thing worth paying for on this whole menu is the steamed white rice because it's at least cooked thoroughly. The triple Thai something had some insipid beef and vegetables. The spicy Thai basil was not spicy nor Thai nor basil. Haven't been here in about a year, but pleasantly surprised. Everything was great. I had the sushi lunch , everything was fresh and tasty came with soup and salad. I have been ordering sushi from here for years. it's usually good- not exceptional but it's close to my home. This week I got an order that made me violently ill! I knew it was food poisoning because as soon as I finished throwing up everything in my stomach I felt fine. I called Wild Ginger and told them that the very least they could do was refund my dinner bill. The next day I got a call back from what I assume was the manager and she said all she could do was to refund the sushi part of my meal (I had a small appetizer as well and she refused to throw that in.) As a matter of fact, it's nearly a week later and my credit card statement shows they refunded nothing. I will not be returning and I suggest anyone else think twice before they do. read more

This is my go-to spot for sushi in the area. My favorites are the Yellowtail Jalapeño, Yoshi Roll and NY Roll. I have also had the Pad Thai and Fried Rice which are both delicious. I love the name, "Wild Ginger." It evokes images of spicy jungles with Jaguar eyes and Elephant tusks lurking in the deep canopy forests of northern Thailand. This version of the two shop restaurant empire is not quite as wild as the name suggests, but does have its positive moments. The Jamison store has dark red walls with black cut out images of exotic Asian women and the Eiffel Tower. On a hot day it instantly cools the visitor with its permanent shade. The menu works especially well at lunch, where the offerings on the Thai side are based on the main ingredient you chose - Tofu, Veggies, Chicken, Beef or Shrimp and range from $8 to $9 for the style you select. I almost ordered the Pad Thai, but allowed myself to listen to my server telling me the Cashew Thai Style was just as good. She was very pleasant, and she convinced me to try the nut approach. First came the Tom Yam Soup, which was nicely spiced and steaming. It was what I expected that soup to be. Tart and sinus rattling. Nice. The main dish was very attractive with fresh Veggies (Pepper, Onion, Scallion, Carrot, Baby Corn, Cashews), and a light brown glazy sauce that made everything shine. Looked great. The taste was were the letdown occurred. While the menu described a mild sweetness, to my buds, there was little if any flavor. Freshness and quantity were not issues, but I truly wanted something bolder in line with my Thai-spectations. Rather than ask for more sauce or something sweeter to add to the plate, I went the other way and asked for Sesame Oil and Chili Sauce to bring up the flames. After dumping the small dish of spice and oil into it and mixing thoroughly, the flavor was much improved, and I enjoyed the meal the rest of the way. It still wasn't authentically Thai, but it was reasonably good. Turned out that Wild Ginger (II) was a "fusion" or hybrid kitchen, owned by someone other than Thais or Japanese. Such 'con-fusion' houses usually don't work well as the concept doesn't exist in the "wild" of southeast Asia, and relies on the theory that no one here will recognize that this concoction approach lacks roots in any indigenous culture. Wild Ginger gamely tries to offer a valid alternative, and the dishes are okay for what they are. It's just that they fall short of being fully satisfying because of what they are not. read more

Service was spot on, Desiree offered help with the menu, supplied her opinions of what she thought "we" would like....(any servers out there take note, "what we would like"), she was attentive but not obtrusive SERVICE 4 STARS Appetizers were awesome, pan fried dumplings --- some of the best I have had. Entrees.... (A pause for dramatic effect) - step back, I'll get to the entrees, the Menu needs some mention. The damn thing goes on forever, making choosing one thing nearly impossible. My solution here was to decide what I wanted tonight, and then later in the week was relegated to option #2. My boyfriend and I have gone to both Wild Ginger restaurants in the area on numerous occasions. I prefer Wild Ginger II to the other one. The last time we were there, we ordered pan fried vegetarian chicken dumplings to start. They were phenomenal, even my super carnivorous boyfriend enjoyed them. He ordered the pineapple fried rice which was presented in a hollowed out pineapple. I ordered the hot fancy tofu, which is great. We'll keep going back, for sure! read more

This place has great sushi, however the vegetarian entrees aren't made with consistency.

2.5 stars. Wild ginger 3's location is better, in my opinion. The red Penang with chicken curry was tasteless, it was literally just coconut milk, completely tasteless. The pad Thai was also tasteless. The boiled dumplings we got here were good, a long with the Buddha vegetable dish. Maybe their other currys are better, but I would completely stay away from the red Penang, if I were you. read more

This is our go to Asian Fusion place. And they are doing an excellent job of keeping us safe during this Covid-19 outbreak. You can order online or through your phone. Wild Ginger tell you when your food will be ready (20-30 minutes usually) and just show up at there door and they hand you your food. We ordered lunch and my husband had the Thai Style Beef with Bell Peppers, onions, carrots, and baby corn in a spicy sweet soy sauce. I had Red Panang Curry with Beef, carrots, snow peas, potatoes and sweet peppers in a coconut milk and red curry sauce. Both dishes was delicious, With the right amount of spice. You can choose whether you want white rice brown rice or fried rice. And for lunch you get a soup and a small salad. Just Delicious and an easy lunch on a hot summer afternoon. read more

I've ordered here multiple times and they're pretty inconsistent. They make the pick up orders quickly which is nice. The sushi ranges from ok to good and a little too expensive in my opinion. Tends to fall apart a lot. I got the pad thai yesterday and it was bad. A flavorless block of noodles that I had to hack at to get a bite. To preface, there's a Wild Ginger (I) in Warminster, but I thought I'd add my review for the restaurant's new sister, Wild Ginger II. I'm not sure how the food compares to the original location, but the Jamison location labels its food as Japanese, Thai & Vegetarian. As an herbivore, my options are usually pretty limited, but when my family invited me out to eat and gave me a menu to peruse, I felt like I was in heaven. They have TONS of vegetarian dishes, or even meat dishes that can be made with seitan or tofu. From sushi and dumplings to fried rice and noodles, I could probably eat here every weekend and still not get bored. It'll be hard to do that, because what I ordered was pretty fantastic. My boyfriend and I split the steamed veggie dumplings, which were more flavorful than the standard "veggie" dumplings I've had at other places (even a restaurant I love in Philly-- after having Wild Ginger's dumplings, every other dumpling seems mediocre at best). To continue with the dumpling theme, I had veggie dumpling soup. I haven't heard of any other place that offers veggie won-ton-like soup, so I was a little too excited to try it. It didn't disappoint. The broth was not too salty but full of flavor (maybe miso-based?), and rather than the limp spinach usually featured in Japanese soups, it had crispy thin ridges of cabbage and carrots that balanced perfectly with the soft, "meaty" dumplings (these are even better than the meat dumplings I remember from my carnivorous past, but I may be biased). For my entree, I chose Dinner Roll C-- buddha's roll, sweet potato roll, and veggie roll. There are a LOT of vegetarian sushi roll options, and although the Thai menu begged me to order the red curry and coconut noodles, I had to go for the interesting sushi. The sweet potato roll was soft yet a little crunchy, the veggie roll was decent, but the star of the show was the Buddha's-- simply finely crushed peanuts and avocado slices. Everyone begged me for a piece and it was hard to share. Healthy indulgence at its best! Everything was really prettily arranged, to boot. I'll upload a picture later. It was almost too beautiful to eat, but by the end my plate was smeared with sauce and no pickled ginger was left in sight (speaking of which: I thought all pickled ginger was the same. Nope, this one is superior to any other). If you're in the area, check it out! We went on their second day of being opened, and everyone there was incredibly friendly and helpful. The place is gorgeous inside, too. And don't forget to snag some of the guava candies on your way out! read more

A place vegans can order off the menu. WAHOO! I ordered green curry with "shrimp." Great taste, but I'm real sorry I ordered the "shrimp." They looked too much like real shrimp. Vegetable pancake - yum. I recommend this. Sweet and sour Chinese cabbage - ok, green curry with "shrimp" - don't get the shrimp. Prices is the same for the fake shrimp as it is for the real shrimp. Ordered crispy fried chicken; Too oily and overcooked. Ate noodles and reacted poorly over the next few hours; greased or something in the noodle preparation. Also had the chicken teriyaki which was good flavor but the vegetables were the end bits and not bite size- huge chunks! The sushi was good - and would return for just that!
