Grabbed an "emergency eggroll" here - to take to my dad, and it was OK, but I learned my lesson. I only go to Jade Island in Warrington now. Chin's food has down way downhill. Nope. Nice people, but the food is too greasy and "gloppy" for us to enjoy. read more

Chin's is my go to 2-3 times a month. Often I will order an entrée, I've tried most of them, spring roll and always add a quart of soup for another meal. Their soups are delicious, particularly the wonton, which includes many, many homemade delicious dumplings! The hot and sour soup is spicy, but not too much so. I honestly can't say that I've ever had a bad meal from this restaurant and have been going there for many years. Keep in mind, it's not gourmet, but it's definitely delicious! read more

FOOD was AWFUL!!! Fried rice was nothing more than white rice tossed with soy sauce. NO vegetables and egg whatsoever! The spicy garlic chicken was the blandest thing I have ever tasted; no flavor at all! The barbecued spareribs were like eating cardboard. We will never go back to this place again! This is my go-to for good Chinese food in Doylestown. I've been a customer of Chin's Kitchen for about 7 or 8 years I think. I am rarely disappointed. Their Orange Beef, Orange Chicken, Lemon Chicken, Wonton Soup, fried rice dishes, Egg Rolls and more are always fresh, hot and tasty. For traditional Chinese faire, Chin's is really the ONLY place in town. My family orders from here occasionally and we've never had a problem. The pad Thai noodles are always perfect and spicy just the way we like them! And we have food allergies in my family. The folks at Chin's take extra care to prepare foods certain ways to avoid allergies upon request. It's no surprise to us that they have been BEST OF BUCKS many years in a row. My wife & I have been eating here for a while, which is why I decided to order from Chin's for my birthday dinner tonight. I called in the order, Lo Mein with extra chicken & onions, and fried wonton (I'd meant to order pan-fried dumpling, but got them mixed up in my mind, so I can't complain about that.) When I got home, I opened up the bag to find the fried wontons, and while this annoyed me, I was still looking forward to my Lo Mein. Unfortunately, what I found was a container of soupy-looking Chow Mein and a small container of rice to accompany it rather than the crunchy noodles which usually accompany Chow Mein. I called the place to let them know of the mistake in my order, and the woman who answered the phone continually over-talked me in broken English, and wouldn't let me get a word in edge-wise until I raised my voice and said "Listen!" I repeated what I'd ordered, and she replied that no, I hadn't ordered Lo Mein, but Chow Mein, and that she'd repeated the order back to me when I picked it up, but I could have sworn that she said "Lo Mein," although it was so hard to understand her as it was. We went back & forth for a few more minutes on the phone, with her continuing to insist that they'd filled my order correctly, and it became apparent that they weren't going to fix my order, at which time I said "Fine," and hung up. While my wife insisted that I go out and get something more to my liking for my birthday dinner, I didn't want to spend time hunting down something to eat, and we'd already spent over $17 for an entree & an appetizer, and resigned myself to eat what I'd brought home. Here's how the food that I got tasted: -The fried wontons were far greasier than any that I've ever experienced in the past; the center of the wontons were bland and without any flavor to speak of, and so I decided to try them with some of the sweet & sour sauce which came with them, but that was diluted, and while it remained sweet, there was no sour to it, no tang to it to speak of, which did nothing to improve the taste of the wontons themselves. These were probably the worst fried wontons that I've had in my life. -The rice which came with the Chow Mein was overcooked, and closer to goo ready to break down into a starchy mass. As someone who's worked in Asian restaurants in the past, I couldn't believe the condition of the rice. -The Chow Mein was almost completely immersed in a broth, which had made me think that they'd accidentally packed an order of soup for me when I first removed it from the bag. I scooped some of the Chow Mein from the container with chop sticks in order to avoid an oversaturation of the broth that it was soaking in, and placed it over some of the overcooked rice that I mentioned earlier, since this place apparently couldn't be bothered to provide Chow Mein noodles for Chow Mein. I assumed that the abundance of broth that the Chow Mein was soaking in would bring some flavor to the dish, but alas, such was not the case, and what I found myself consuming was the most bland Chow Mein I have experienced in my 51 years of life, and I stopped after a small portion of it. I have to say that I was completely shocked by my experience this evening, from the service that I received, to the quality of the food, since as I said earlier, my wife & I had eaten here in the past, and were happy with the food. Something at this restaurant has changed, not only in the quality of the food, but in the attitude of those working there, because they apparently now have a "I don't give a damn" attitude towards the satisfaction of their customers now that the worst of the pandemic has passed; the woman on the phone apparently interpreted my desire to correct an error in my order for a desire to argue with her, and this was absolutely apparent after she continually insisted that they took my order correctly rather than offering to correct the error. This will be the last time that my family orders food from this restaurant, and the only reason that it's getting one star is because Yelp won't allow me to give it no stars. read more

I've given two stars for the history Chin's Kitchen and we have. My wife and I have been coming here for a very very long time. If not for that history a star would be missing from my generous two stars! SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED....... I'm not sure when, however it was recent. My First Clue....Karen was not there. (Background: Karen has been behind the front desk and waiting tables for as long as I can remember). I wrongly assumed maybe she had taken the day off. Second Clue......the waiter..... I'm not sure of his training, Whatever that training was - service was not a focus. Disheveled, inattentive and suffering from either a head cold or allergies (disgusting). Third Clue.....we ordered Hot and Sour soups. "May we have some chips and mustard with those, I like to add the mustard in my soup"...... soup arrives, I wait seven minutes and forty-three seconds.... no mustard or chips. I get up and get some from the front desk. Fourth Clue...... the waiter continues to stalk us. Fifth Clue... waiter actually sits on the table behind us as he take the order from the folks sitting behind my wife and me. Sixth Clue ...... I ordered a beef dish, shredded beef. Our waiter makes an odd - almost surprised expression....... stating, "We probably don't have that tonight", he turns quickly, and not unlike Usain Bolt, dashes off to the kitchen. Returning quickly, mimicking the Road Runner, after Wile E. Coyote had had fallen from a cliff, smirking, he confirms his assessments a beef shortage is at hand. Seventh Clue...... I proclaim that we'll just have soups, and then we'll go down the street to Best Taste of India for Indian food tonight. Our waiter explains we can't! They have a ten dollar minimum. We leave a Hamilton on the table and leave. Parting thoughts..... Change of ownership..... maybe Change in management..... probably Change in quality..... absolutely We will not be back - EVER read more

I know this sounds ridiculous but this is a solid 2 star review. If you want straight out suburban Chinese food, this is the place! Egg rolls, hot and sour soup, doughy dumplings and an entree with a gloppy sauce and fried rice all for under $25 for two. The restaurant is a bit shabby. The service was fine. In my opinion, chin's has the very best Chinese food in and around Doylestown. We are regular customers and love the Pork Fried rice, Pork LoMein and General Tso's chicken. The food is outstanding and consistently delicious. The only downside is the wait time but it's worth it. The egg rolls are also very tasty. Came here with my parents, uncle, and husband on a Friday night. My first impression wasn't favorable. The place is very small - keep that in mind. The takeout line was almost out the door, and it was impossible to get someone to seat us even though most of the tables were empty. They were definitely understaffed. We were finally seated and given our menus. Our server was all over the place and kept forgetting things repeatedly. We all ordered soup, which came out lukewarm, as did our entrees. We have tried Chin's on and off over the past 10 years, the best assessment of our experiences was "inconsistent ". Chin's finally crossed over from the acceptable "inconsistent" to "inedible". I don't mean it looked, smelled, or tasted bad - our General Tsos Chicken was so overcooked (twice cooked?) that even with brute force - a fork could not pierce it. A sharp steak knife just shredded the chicken as opposed to cutting it. The chicken was more lumber than food. I know - you're probably thinking it was on the dry side - please let me clarify - it was inedible. Our dog tried a nugget, chewed on it like a rawhide for a few minutes, then left it on the floor after the flavor had been removed from it. It was that bad. It could not have possibly been an inexperienced cook that overcooked it - this was intentionally serving leftover, inedible food. They should be ashamed of what they served and ashamed of the money they stole from us. Never again. read more

I thought this was going to be good since it got Best of Bucks. Wrong! It was predictable AND boring! The shredded pork w garlic had hardly any meat & was chock full of celery & onions & peppers. It was supposed to be spicy & I had to ask for hot sauce. No flavor. Chicken curry was bland & full of more "filler" vegetables also not spicy. The scallion pancakes were doughy & boring and so were the mushy shrimp egg rolls. The hot food all came out on ICE COLD PLATES TOO! Not going back. The waiters' reply to anything was "no problem". Put one of these morsels of delicious General Tso's chicken in your mouth. Feel the guilty pleasure of saturated fat enter your body and I challenge YOU to tell me that this does not taste like meat! Three stars is about as good as they're going to get out of me. They are more expensive than the other Chineses take outs in the area, and I think it's reasonable to expect better. I have duck last time we went and it was not fresh, and it was overcooked. Duck is my thing and it left a lot to be desired. Soups? Forget about them, don't bother. Notice I did not say say best Chinese food ever, but I give 4 stars because it is what it is... Good Chinese, not gourmet, but clean and reputable.. The staff is friendly. They have some American kids answering the phones... the other reason they get 4 stars.. this is a great idea!!! It is easy to order to-go!! I actually like the food much better than Ooka down the street!!! Easy, fast, courteous, tasty, and affordable!!! Just what I look for in Chinese take-out.. I have had lunch here about 5 or 6 times in the last few months. It is your typical Chinese fare & would probably give it 4 stars except for the service I received today. I typically eat lunch alone & spend my lunch hour reading the newspaper, wherever I eat I always request a booth so I have room to lay out the paper, read & eat. They always allowed me to have a booth prior to my visit today. Today I was seated by the owner (I assume), she put me at a very small table for 2. When I asked if I could have a booth (there were 3 or 4 empty booths) she stated she needs to save them in case some parties of 4 come in. Imagine that, customers that have not come in are more important than customers that are already there. I ordered & ate at the tiny table with my paper falling off the edges & getting in the way of me eating. I was cramped & did not enjoy my lunch break today. When I was finished eating and there were 4 empty booths still waiting for parties of 4, my server came over & stated "my boss wanted me to apologize for the seating mix up, she thought it would be busier today." The owner also apologized when I paid my bill. As I told her, "There are plenty of other restaurants in Doylestown that will seat me in a booth." And that's where I'll be eating next time. If there are any restaurant owners reading this, for me my lunch time accommodations are as important as the food I eat. I feel that if a customer specifically requests a certain seating arrangement the restaurant should make every effort to accommodate that customer if possible. read more

We only order take out, so I can't speak to the service. From a food quality perspective, we were very happy to discover a really good Chinese place in the Doylestown vicinity, after being disappointed by China Sun near us in Dublin. Since we discovered Chin's Kitchen we've ordered take out at least a few times a month. Wife and I both love the fried wontons. She usually gets the beef or chicken and broccoli. I like the General Tso's. I did find their sweet and sour sauce to be a bit of a disappointment---too bland and watery (though still much better than the red colored water that was used at China Sun). Other than that, we've enjoyed pretty much everything we ordered here. I wish they delivered--I miss having an actual option for Chinese delivery food. If any of the Doylestown area Chinese places started delivering they'd probably make a killing. Haven't found anything else yet in the Doylestown area that even comes close to this place. Food is deserving of 3.5 stars. Service is deserving of zero. I've had really good food at Chin's. Specifically, the General Tsos Chicken, the orange chicken, the soups (wonton egg drop!) and the steamed pork buns. All very much yum. I once however, struck out horribly with the "Hunan Duck" which was absolutely horrendous. Here's a tip -- stick to food that the kitchen can't possibly mess up. Although the food may be good, it's extremely overpriced and not worth at all what they're charging. Ok, now for the service. The staff is basically entirely made of up of kids age 16 to 19 who quite obviously have never worked in hospitality/service before. I had to go up to the counter to ask for extra utensils last time I was here, and I was uncomfortable to do so because BOTH girls behind the counter were just texting away on their iPhones. The waiters barely say anything, don't make eye contact, don't check up on their tables. It seems their goal is to serve the food and collect their tip with as little effort as possible. Best American Chinese restaurant in the area. The general toss chicken is white meat which my wife loves. Quality of the good seems a touch above the average Chinese take out spot. The dine in decor is also hipper than a regular Chinese restaurant. The food is flavor and special requests are taken. Teriyaki beef sticks are good. Lomein is spot on and the chicken with garlic sauce is flavorful. The dumplings are good and the dumpling sauce is tasty. Skip the pad thai. read more
