The restaurant interior design and ambience was superb and very pleasantly inspired. Definitely a place to sit down and enjoy a leisurely meal when you feel like eating some place nice! The service was good and attentive, without crowding the diners. The waitress was able to provide answers. When asked about things she was unknowledgeable of she had no problem inquiring in the kitchen. The food selection was extensive. Extremely Disappointing Dine-In Experience We arrived at 5:55 PM to an empty restaurant. No one acknowledged us until 6:10--only after we asked for service. No drinks, no greeting--nothing. When I did ask for help, the young server seemed irritated by the request. Our order was finally taken at 6:12. Meanwhile, takeout orders were flying out the door. It was obvious that in-house diners are an afterthought here. The girl at the front even yelled to the kitchen in a foreign language--it was jarring and unprofessional. By 6:45, only two other tables had filled, yet the chaos continued. Staff used a walkie-talkie at full volume throughout dinner, destroying any chance at a peaceful meal. I used to love this restaurant. I have eaten here since the first week it originally opened. But everything changes. We live on the opposite side of town and parking on Saturday night is a problem so we do takeout. When I ordered I specified NO ONIONS,NO SCALLIONS on my meal. When we got the food home and opened it my meal was 3/4 cup of cooked LEEKS. Google leeks on your smartphone and find they are ONIONS. OMG, the shrimp sticks were so delicious and crunchy, plus they came with pineapple chunks and black sesame seeds. The Singapore (curried) mei fun was right on point, as was the hot and sour soup. The prices were quite reasonable. I got this mid-afternoon for delivery, so maybe there was no dine-in rush at the time, but wow. Just wow. This review is for their take out execution only. The food is always solid. We've never had an issue. The way they run their take out really could use improvement. I placed a $100 order at 6 pm with a 6:47 pick up time. I arrived at 6:40 and was told it would be another 7 minutes. I waited as piles of bags started to build at the register. It started getting pretty chaotic. There were people waiting for food app orders, online ordering and it was obvious, there was no real system in place to handle the volume considering their entire staff is comprised of all high school kids and one confused manager. None of those kids knew what they were doing. There were food missing in peoples orders, and bags were being mixed up. I stood there till 7 pm when the girl asked me if I was being helped. This is the same girl who told me it was be 7 more minutes. Twenty three minutes later I told her my name again and apparently, my food was sitting there the entire time. Listen, I consult for restaurants and this was a mess. Five kids behind a cash register, no one knew what they were doing and the place was pretty empty except for a few diners. What I suggest is that they purchase some decorative bamboo metro shelving unit and put it beside the register area that has a ton of space. Line up the bags oldest to newest left to right, going down the shelves and when an order leaves, shift all newer bags left. I've installed this system in other restaurants especially since they clearly use delivery apps. Their lack of a system now only makes them lose money. I stopped here once because it sounded so good and the reviews were good but it was like a TV dinner warmed up. I had the Kung pow chicken and was really looking forward to it. They also had changed the prices from what was printed on the menus, obviously up and were irritated when I asked why it was 25% more than the price printed in the paper menus. Had lunch here today with the boss (wife). We had the lunch special that included soup and a spring roll. I had the hot and sour soup and the boss's hot and sour soup (I like hot and sour). The soup was good. I just wish it had strips of pork but it was still good My shredded pork with garlic was very tasty and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't overpowered with garlic but it had enough. I don't often write reviews but this place should have more than a 4 star rating. I've been here twice and had 4 different menu items (sesame chicken, kids fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and beef with black pepper). I haven't had an ounce of disappointed. The food is really good and the portions are a good size as well. All these dishes (except the kids fried rice) came with white rice that absorbed the flavors of the sauce really nicely when mixed with the meat and vegetables. I feel like the quality of meat is better than most Chinese places I've been to in the past. Also, I can tell everything is cooked to order. It's all cooked perfectly each time I've gone too! The staff is really nice as well. I did have to wait a little longer than the estimated time for my orders but if I'm going to get good quality Chinese food I will wait as long as I need to. read more

We had had Ramen near by restaurant before and it was just so awful, so we were very skeptical about Asian restaurants in Doylestown (why picked this place then? I was craving for Asian food but this is the only place does not close after lunch hours). We ordered soup dumplings, Mapo Tofu, Mongolian Beef and Chicken Lomein. Oh my, that was a very pleasant surprise! All the dishes were flavorful, hot amd well seasoned. Lomein had a bit too much of the sesame oil but it was still chewy and perfectly cooked. They used silky tofu for Mapo Tofu but it was very good also. My husband liked his Mongolian beef. We all left this place satisfied and will definitely be coming back for sure!!! read more

By far, the best Chinese food in the area. Ingredients are fresh with sauces are tasty not salty. They will add or subtract heat (spice) according to your liking. The hot & sour soup is vegetarian and is terrific. I love that many dishes include a variety of vegetables, not just bamboo shoots. I've taken out or had delivery from Kung Fu many times and been satisfied with everything ordered. Once we even had a large number of family members from Blue Bell who commented the food was better than their local restaurants. When it comes to Chinese restaurants, most people inherently know what to expect. Little paper bins full of the food virtually indistinguishable from one establishment to the next. Not at Kung Fu. While Kung Fu is definitely pricier than your run of the mill Chinese food, their food is absolutely outstanding. If you choose to dine in, you'll be treated to nice relaxing lighting during the evening (so many otherwise great restaurants screw this basic element up, blasting patrons with bright light, and can ruin everything else about a dining experience). Unlike some other upscale Chinese restaurants, they have all of the expected elements of a more traditional Chinese restaurant found in strip malls across America, like fried wontons, fortune cookies, etc. They just excel where it counts, with their main dishes all being amped up and flavorful versions of those you're used to. If you're the type that is easily disappointed or you get frustrated if your expectations don't match what arrived at your table (you always want your Chinese food to look and taste the same no matter where you go), you might want to steer clear, but if you're willing to try more authentic, hearty, and appropriately portioned incarnations of the dishes you've probably ordered hundreds of times from other establishments, Kung Fu is for you. If you order Sesame Chicken, for example, you can expect large, chunky pieces of white meat chicken with a thin layer of batter, sauce, and sesame seeds adorning it (as opposed to the small pieces of chicken and thick batter you might get at a lesser establishment). Their Walnut Shrimp is heavy with sauce, but it tastes great and is highly recommended. Their wonton soup is some of the best I've ever had. Health food this is not -- this is a place to indulge. 2 stars because my boyfriends meal (hot garlic chicken) was pretty good but gave a tiny portion of rice. I have never returned food in my life, and I get pad Thai whenever I see it on a menu (my mistake) - worst pad Thai ever. I can't even call it pad Thai, I'm renaming theirs peanut butter noodles. Me and my BF BOTH tried it, literal peanut butter, even my mouth was sticky like I ate a spoon of pb. I know pad thai has peanut sauce and peanuts, like I said I get it a lot, this was like they spooned a dollop of Skippy Peanut Butter in the noodles. So bad I can't even explain. I had to send it back and just had some of the hot garlic chicken. Also there is a credit card fee they pass on to their customers, sorry but that's a cost of doing business don't make your customers pay it for you. I'll never eat here again. read more

Who knew we had a terrific Chinese restaurant right here in Doylestown? The menu is packed with traditional Chinese dishes that you can get at other places they're just done better at this place. There are also some more authentic Sichuan dishes that are harder to find as well. Had the pork with garlic and cumin and thought the meat could have been a little less chewy but the flavor was incredible. Sautéed String beans were delicious and worth a try. Chicken with garlic sauce was my favorite dish and second was the chow mein. Kids loved the General's chicken and soup dumplings. I'd like to get the mapo tofu next time I go here. Doylestown has been waiting for good Chinese food, and this is it. Kung Fu is NOT your typical, Americanized, greasy take-out place. Kung Fu is the real deal with authentic Chinese and Asian dishes served in a nice dining room. Although there is a counter in the front of the restaurant, don't let that fool you. This IS a nice dine-in restaurant. Peek around the corner and you'll see a newly renovated dining room. And it's BYOB! The best Chinese food I ever had was at an authentic restaurant in NYC's Chinatown, and the food at Kung Fu took me right back there. I have tried several things already and have been happy with all of them. The soup dumplings are incredible!!!! And this is the only place where you can get a good bowl of ramen in the area. We have had the beef short rib ramen and shrimp ramen - both good. The yummy beef and Mongolian beef are both so, so tender and full of flavor. The wontons in the wonton soup are so delicate - I asked about them and they are homemade daily. The sweet and sour pork is also super tender and delish. My little 8yo foodie devoured everything here, and loved the fried noodles on the kids menu (same as regular menu, just smaller portion yet it was still big!). So do yourself a favor and try this place. Get all of your ideas about greasy Chinese food out of your head and try some real, authentic Chinese and Asian dishes. read more
