Most bizarre experience I have ever had- ended with the owner calling me and accusing me of being "suspicious." Ordered via a delivery app and the driver cancelled on me, but I was determined to finally try this place so I ordered the same order again. The owner called me and was screaming at us that someone else just came for the first order, that it was suspicious we are ordering again, etc. I didn't know what he even wanted from me, but I was trying to give the guy business. It was very disappointing and angering to be accused of... I don't even know what... when I was just trying to give this restaurant business. My family and I will never support this place. read more

the food is great. I work in law enforcement, I discovered this place about 3 months ago, and I've been ordering to pick on my way to work since then, spending at least $100-$150 on a week I have time to grab something to eat. Today I Called to place a order for food, and I needed them to put the rice in a see through container, since in the building I work in, they have to see the food we are bringing in, for obvious reason. I even told him he can charge me extra for the container. The man, who I believe is the owner, refused and was screaming at me on the phone. I deci to then cancel my order, he said fine and hung up on me. I called him back just to let him know I'm a regular customer and I have been telling so many people about Wing Lee Cuisine at my job. The man did not care and hung up again. I know people have something against law enforcement officers nowaday, but too bad, I really loved this place, their food was great, but the customer service is terribl. Great service as I called in for a takeout order. My order was ready when I arrived at the restaurant. Everything was perfect when I got the order home. We started going to Wing Lee in December. We have eaten there 4 times and each time the food is very good. The Dim Sum soup dumplings are the best. However, service is a bit slow. But what really bothered me last time I was there was that I brought my family (a total of 8) for early dinner and the owner was annoyed with me for not calling first. There was room in the restaurant to eat so I don't know why he had an attitude. I had raved about this restaurant to my mother-in-law and both of my wife's sisters but all three of them did not like the owner's attitude. My mother-in-law thought he was very rude to us and others. We spent over $180 that night plus a generous tip to the over-worked ONE waitress. Wing Lee has the best Asian cuisine in this area! They most definitely take their time with preparing their meals from start to finish. The General Tso's Chicken and Orange chicken, all white meat not a lot of breading like most places serve. Normally I don't eat Wonton soup because it looks tasteless and it is NOT Wing Lee the care that went into their Wonton soup. So sad the original owners sold the place and left during the pandemic. The food now is lower-quality and greasy. Couldn't chew the tough beef, the spring rolls were bland, the chicken wings were greasy and some other dishes were just okay. We threw-out the leftovers instead of saving them. That says a lot for this house. They were nice on the phone when we ordered, but they aren't serving sushi or hand rolls during the pandemic. Their website used for ordering does not mention this. Updating my review I really liked this place but after tonight I will not be coming back or ordering from here again. I ordered take out tn and its a Saturday night. I understand it can get busy but Mr. Lee was very rude on the phone to me ans should never talk to a customer like that. The order was wrong we ordered a beef pan fried noodle and he gave us a house noodle, this is not what we wanted. He also gave us some crab ragoon wonton which we never ordered. When I asked him if they could deliver he said yes but it would be 1 hour and then I said okay great and then he said okay you will get your food in an hour and a half!! HOW DID THE DELIVER TIME CHANGE IN 10 SECONDS Then I decided to not order the pan fried noodles and just get my money back. Mr. Lee was yelling at me saying if I wanted the food I will have to pick it up, this is bad customer service. He said I ordered the wrong thing and I know I didnt. Just walked into wing Lee to place a to go order. There are about 5 tables of people dining in and 2 people servicing the tables. I'm standing at the front waiting for someone to assist me with the order and I'm waiting... waiting... waiting... I can see that they saw me standing there as they point but still no one approaches. Then one server rushes out the door to try and catch a family that left their hat. She walks back in and walks right past me and does not say a word. Needless to say, I will not be back. read more

This used to be my favorite place to get Chinese takeout. Sadly, it seems the original owners are no longer involved, and it shows. The only positive is that my order arrived quickly; but I live within walking distance, so that's to be expected. The downside was that the delivery person just left the food in the hallway; had I not gotten another package shortly afterward, I'd have never known they'd left my food (at a neighbor's door). The steamed dumplings seemed like they were made of plastic and lacked any real flavor of note. The sauce they came with was the only thing that had any taste at all, and that was mostly just salt. The rice was dreadful; I used to love their beef fried rice, but this was bland, flavorless, and the beef was obviously cheap chuck steak that was like chewing rubber. The whole meal was bad enough for me to ask for a refund, and I've only ever done that with takeout when I actually didn't get something. I might try to re-fry the rice myself just to see if I can get some flavor into it, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, any more. Sad to see it go, honestly. read more

When another Chinese house was closed on Tuesday in Hatboro, we pulled out the trustee Yelp App and found Wing Lee Cuisine not far away in Horsham on Easton Road. As the saying goes; "One door closes and another opens." So it was last evening. We may never know what we were missing, because there is little chance we will return to Hatboro from Newtown for dinner, but we definitely discovered a very good Chinese restaurant about a mile away that is open seven days a week and serves good quality dishes with friendly service from ownership. The room was well appointed, clean and attractive with white linen and heavy metal utensils in addition to available chopsticks. We brought our own libations and were promptly given a table side ice bucket to hold the beer at arms length. The menu was Chinese in front, and Japanese in back. There were plenty of options from Cantonese, to Hunanese, to Szechuanese (although this was a light version of the kickin' spiciness we desired; lacking any Szechuan chili peppers or star peppercorns), and a page of fish platters. Regardless of that small disappointment, everything was well made with fresh ingredients, superior sauces, and nice presentations. We asked for Hunanese Lamb, which was tender and spiced with black bean sauce. Very good. The Szechuan beef and the Szechuan Shrimp were both full plates with plenty of thin sliced beef and veggies, and large shrimp in a thick bright red gravy, but lacking in true Szechuan flavor. We added some house chili sauce after the fact, which helped a bit, but could not approach the fire quotient of cooking with the authentic flamethrowers. Finally, the eggplant in garlic sauce was good, although it seemed American rather than Chinese eggplant was used. We enjoyed our meal (and birthday celebration). The candle stuck in the cored/quartered orange and the singing of "Happy Birthday," were very thoughtful touches and appreciated. This is one of the better suburban Chinese restaurants in this part of the world. It makes up for lack of real Chengdu heat by the overall quality and skills apparent in their kitchen. They would do themselves a favor by having the right spices above the stove for those who know what Szechuan food is supposed to taste like. If they did, this place could be truly exceptional. read more

Close friends generously shared their favorite Chinese restaurant with us and introduced us to its gracious owner. We have been entranced ever since. Wing Lee is nestled between an adult "amusement" store and a tantalizingly fragrant barbecue joint in an utterly nondescript strip mall. One could easily zip by Wing Lee, and that would be quite a shame. Distinguishing Wing Lee from its competition are the freshness of its ingredients and the chef's consistent ability to stop the cooking process just before the vegetables wilt. The sauces taste (and feel) like reductions instead of the typical corn-starch thickened offerings. We have enjoyed everything we have ordered or sampled, including General Tso's (a generous plate of large chicken chunks in a spicy Szechuan-style sauce surrounded by broccoli florets); Moo Goo Gai Pan (made with chicken paillards); barbecue ribs; and dumplings. A perfect finish is a gratis dessert plate containing a cleverly carved orange along with pineapple pieces. read more
