My son and I dined at this small restaurant. There's very limited seating inside but we decided to stay. There's food is pretty good and felt like good comfort food. Tried to order online. The site didn't allow me to check out, so I called in the order. My first (and last) time there. No "parking in rear" signs. I ended up parking at Dunkin' and walking over. I found out later that there is a lot behind the building. While waiting for my food, I noticed both women working there handling some of the food they were cooking with their bare hands and then wiping their hands on a dirty dishrag and apron. Pretty gross. I also noticed one of them tasted the food while cooking. Food tasted okay, but was way too spicy (and I usually like a good bit of spice). I was kind of surprised when I got here. Maybe because I didn't see much interior photos of this restaurant online. This is actually not a regular restaurant, but more like a take out place with a few tables and chairs. Although it is clean and nice, but space is limited. It is definitely not suitable for a large group nor family with baby strollers. They have parking spaces in the rear behind the restaurant. The entrance is narrow! I nearly pass that when it is right next to the restaurant. How about their food? It is not the best, but not the worst. My husband and I thought the food was a bit bland. It got taste but not flavorful enough compare to other Thai cuisine we have tried. We ordered the Tom yum noodle soup with shrimps. We thought it wasn't sour enough for a tom yum soup base. We also ordered a Papaya salad, a Massamam curry with chicken, and a Thai coffee. None of those really makes me feel ooo or surprised. The Papaya salad was not anything special. The Massamam curry wasn't too bad. Sweet and a hint of spicy with some taste of coconut milk. But the chicken was a bit rough. The Thai coffee was surprisingly sweet to me. Personally, I'm not a big fan of Thai tea cause too sweet to me, but I didn't expect the coffee would be sweet too. Overall, I would try once, maybe not so much of a second time on my own. read more

Stopped here this afternoon with a hungry child after an intense afternoon of minigolf. I'm a sucker for branding so the bright orange store front and fun sign pulled me in. It's small inside - only two tables - but clean and bright and they have two goldfish tanks that kept my son occupied while our food was prepared. The owner (I think) was so sweet and personable, came out from behind the counter to talk to my son, even gave him a chopstick holder to take home so he could learn to use them. Food was good and portions were great. We both got lunch and dinner out of pad Thai and a papaya salad. The homemade Thai tea was a perfect complement. The parking is challenging - small alley to a rear lot just past the storefront - but a small Insignificant detail. We will definitely be back to support this small business owner! read more

It's been a while since I've eaten here but I still remember that this is one of my favorite Thai spots. The food was great and made hot to deliver! The dumplings was one of my faves and I've always loved the drunken noodles. The customer service was also great: I ordered through an online app and picked up the food in person and was recommended by the owner to actually call in and order over the phone. We end up paying less in fees and the owner gets more of the cut! I fully am all for supporting small businesses. Overall more people should pick-up from this restaurant; it doesn't get as much attention as some others but delicious, it is. read more

The lady here was the absolute sweetest but my food was just not tasty. I got: -Thai Dumplings -Spring Rolls -Pad See Ew - 2 cans coke Total came to $30 after tip. When I opened the Pad See Ew first I got a whiff of vinegar which I was confused about the smell being that prominent. Next I smelled a bit of sweetness in the air. Still confused, I took one bite and was disappointed. Took a second bite and closed the container right up. The flavors were off, the narrow Fettuccini like noodles were just bad, and I refused to eat it. The spring rolls were crisp on the outside but the insides were overly soft, to the point I'd describe it as mushy. The dumplings were the only thing I actually ate. I did Thai takeout at South Seas on York Road, Abington, PA, today, and gotta say I was somewhat disappointed. No issue negotiating the narrow driveway alongside the orange faced shop to reach the small parking lot in the rear, nor dealing with the staff inside picking up my order of Tom Kha Soup and Drunken Noodles (veggie). No, the problem was strictly the content of the food when I got home to consume it. Neatly packed in leak proof containers and brown paper handled bag, it was fun to unload and helped build anticipation. The coconut soup had all the right ingredients and was as spicy as desired. Fresh mushrooms floating on top with carrot, string bean, broccoli, tofu and chunks of ginger and long fibrous lemongrass lurking beneath the surface like gators in a muddy milky river. Therein lay the problem. Love the bite of lemongrass and the tartness of ginger, but not when there is so much of it that it outweighs the edibles in the bowl. I tried chewing them to extract the flavor since there was so much of it, but the tough hard texture proved daunting, and I surrendered before putting a splinter in my gums or cracking a tooth. Aside from that, the taste of the actual soup was good. The Drunken was a large portion, but of middle width, rather than the broad rice pasta it is supposed to be. Narrower gauge means less surface area to hold the essential spicy sauce, and much less chew, which is key to the tactile experience of this dish. Too, the exact same veggies in the soup were in this melange, but not very much of them. The proportion of noodles to greens was off, with far too little of the crunchys, and way too heavy on the carbs, making the ensemble denser and drier than it should have been, without the joy of hot noodles glistening from the devilish sauce. Thai Spicy, yes. Thai balanced, 'fraid not. It just didn't work very well, and had me questioning who was cooking behind the Covid masks. Maybe that was why the shop looked like Chinese takeout, without any element of Siam decor. Nary a Buddha nor elephant in sight. 2.5 STARS read more

I honestly don't understand how this place can ever have any negative reviews. Food here is the closest thing you can have as authentic Thai food here in philly suburbs. I've been to Thailand numerous times and have always been extremely exposed to the culture my whole life and I am more than satisfied with this place/their food. Whoever complained below are expecting way too much from what you can get in philly suburbs, just very unlucky when you ordered the food here or don't know what they're talking about. If you want 100% real authentic Thai food then go to nyc or just go to Thailand instead of complaining that you can't have it, you will never find it here especially around here. I don't know what this place is doing. Pad see ew was overwhelmingly sweet, with zero soy sauce or charring. Narrow, broken noodles instead of broad ones, and western broccoli instead of gai lan. Jasmine rice clear soup was a bit better. read more

The pad see ew was just not that good. Chicken was dry and it is true the flat noodles are not that wide and I wasn't expecting it too make much of a difference but it did. But the check out lady was very sweet and food was hot. So Id come back to try the curry everyone raving about. Oh!!! Tried this Thai Kitchen one night when my husband was away. I had pineapple fried rice with shrimp and it was absolutely wonderful! Everything about the dish was superb - delicious shrimp, perfect rice texture and nice fruity pineapple. The only thing that I would change is that I would try it a little bit spicier. Really, really enjoyed our takeout! They were a little delayed with the timing, but the food was worth it. Prices are very reasonable and portions are solid. We ordered chicken red curry, chicken green curry, crab fried rice (this was my favorite takeout fried rice I've ever eaten - it has green beans, onions, corn, carrots and large pieces of crab - delicious taste and fresh!), the Thai dumplings, AND Thai iced tea, which made me so happy because it's not always available at our other place and these were very delicious. We ordered lunch on Saturday. The bill was almost $40 for two entrées. I took two bites of my lunch and there was a hair in the entrée. I sent the restaurant an email Instead of calling since it was a busy time. They never responded to my email. After the hair was found my husband and I threw our lunches in the trash. Was skeptical when I heard that a new Thai spot existed in Abington. Popped in and glad I did. This has to be the BEST Thai food in the entire area. I only ordered the chicken pad Thai (Thai spice - extra spicy) and they did not disappoint! The meal was enough to feed two people, was as spicy as I wanted it, and the flavor was excellent. Not really sure what to say about the food at this place. It's just....not what I expect when I order Thai food? It didn't taste bad, and we will probably order from here again considering that we haven't had very good experiences with takeout in this area after moving here from the city a couple months ago. I hesitate to call it not authentic, since I'm sure the Thai chef here knows more about Thai food than I do. But there were some discrepancies in ingredients that made the food very different from what I'm used to. For example, my Pad Thai came with lemon, when the dish is traditionally made with lime. The Pad See Ew tasted sweet and sour, had an almost gravy-like sauce, and the noodles were thin and clearly dried noodles, rather than fresh. To me, Pad See Ew is made with wide, fresh rice noodles and more fried and seasoned with sweet soy sauce than saucy or sour. Additionally, the vegetables didn't seem super fresh. It was unclear if this was because they were overcooked or because they actually were not fresh. Although the pineapple fried rice, which I thought was the best of the dishes, was clearly made with frozen peas and carrots. The chicken satay was definitely not cooked at high enough heat to get the crispy sear that I'm used to. Overall, the food tasted fine and I didn't think there was anything glaringly "wrong" with it besides it being different from what I expected. So I guess I would say...try it for yourself and see what you think. Just don't expect the same Thai food you might get elsewhere. read more

I am thoroughly disappointed in the food. The drunken noodle was bland for spice level of 4. The noodle was flat, the width as of fettucine. The beef was rubbery with 5 small pieces. The eggplant was blah as well and had the same vegetables as the drunken noodles. The papaya salad had lots of cabbage. Overall nothing to highlight this food and restaurant. Top it $1 for peanut sauce!!! Coconut shrimp was fine but who can go wrong with it. Will not recommend this place. No flavor and not authentic thai as it claims.
