Usually, my family and I eat at "Momoyama", in Willow Grove. Being Noodle House's menu is pretty similar, we decided to give it a try. The Chasu Bao was very good. Unlike Momoyama, Noodle House uses Romain lettuce, instead of iceberg. You really need iceberg lettuce to give the soft pork/soft bao a nice contrast by adding some crunch. Also, they were on the cold side. Much better warm. Next, the ramen was delicious, with many selections. I especially liked the make your own menu, but be forewarned, the price can add up quickly, as everything on the menu is an extra charge to the $8.00 soup base. The ramen was hot, but could have been hotter. I only ate half my bowl, before it became cold. The fried rice is nothing special and pretty expensive for what it is. The spring rolls are delicious, but very, very small. Also, the liquid sauce they serve with it is more of a dumpling sauce. I would have prefered a thicker sauce. They do have a large menu of beverages, which is nice. However, $6 for two cups of hot tea is a bit much, especially with no refills. The prices are very high, compared to similar restaurants. Over $70 for lunch [for two] is pretty expensive. Whatever your bill is at other restaurants, add 40%. The ambiance of the restaurant is very juvenile- I felt like I was in a childs restaurant. Cartoons playing on a muted large screen TV, while loud rap music blared from the speakers. Anime plastered all over the walls, even a large statue of a some type of anime samurai figure greeting you as soon as you walk in. They even have a talking robot to deliver your food. If I had children with me, I'm sure they would have loved it. Definitely not a place for a quiet or romantic meal. All in all, good food, childish ambiance, high prices. read more

Second time visiting, and unfortunately it confirmed my first impression. The spicy seafood ramen had an extremely thick, heavy broth, and the seafood flavor was overpoweringly fishy. I normally finish any seafood dish--ramen included--and usually enjoy every bite, but this time I couldn't eat it. Our server was pretty good and we liked the robot waiter, but the Salmon Ramen was not very good. The broth tasted like it was made with bullion. It was salty with no depth of flavor. Definitely not made with bones and simmered for hours. The salmon was overcooked, bland, and fishy, the wood fungus and the slice of fishcake were pretty gross. There are cool things like games and anime posters everywhere and also manga you could pick up and read during your meal. There is a super cute talking and moving automated cat robot that brings you your food! I loved that. If you touch it's ears, it also reacts to it. The interior feels the closest to Japan-themed shop you could get, and I loved that. They have this really cute machine that brings your food over to you but the service is also very nice and prompt! To start we got the waffle fries and wow! Decent ramen in the area! I ordered the steak ramen, and my parents ordered the vegetarian ramen. The steak was surprisingly cooked perfectly with a slightly pink center just the way that I like it. The ramen itself was very filling, and I was able to finish it. My mom ordered her veggie ramen "well-done" so that the vegetables would be cooked in a way that was softer for her teeth, but when the robot brought out the food, the waiter that accompanied the robot was unsure which veggie ramen was "well-done" and which was not. My parents concluded that the waiter gave my dad the "well-done" one since the veggies were softer--so the waiter was incorrect. I have to dock a star off for the waiter's lack of attentiveness and not knowing which ramen is which. Also, a side note that the ramen could have been hotter, but it was probably because the robot was too slow with the food lol.
