Even has a food court with amazing food and service outlets with financial services, travel agency and health and wellness. The market is well organized and clean all around with spacious placement of items. Staff is helpful when needed when you have a question and love the quality of the kitchenwares they sell with woks and pans and rice cookers to mink blankets and drinks sets. I LOVE ASSI. Hands down the best Asian grocery store! Super organized and clean with fresh produce, giant variety (you can get everything from lychee to fresh cilantro to poblano peppers here!), and aisles labeled clearly with different cuisines!! Really big supermarket that basically has every single asian product you can find. Their produce and vegetables look extremely fresh. There's also a food court in the supermarket that has a few korean stalls there. We got the bbq chicken original and it took a while to get but that just means that it's made fresh! read more

More so came for snacks and the food court so I'll only speak on that. This place is huge!! Such a large selection in every category: drinks, chips, frozen foods. A vast instant noodles section. They even had premade Korean side dishes and foods. Also sold alcohol. On the 2 occassions i came by, a lot of items were on sale and decently cheaper compared to other stores. Hoping they do it often! They also have a kitchenware section and a small food court. We ordered some chicken from BBQ chicken, did our shopping and swung back for our food. So it has come to my attention that I may be an adrenaline junkie. Always looking for new experiences to break through the monotony of life and light me up with passion and excitement. Low and behold this Asian supermarket really lit me up and I cannot wait to go back to try more of there foods and explore more of what I can soak up of the Asian culture. One of the first things that really grabbed my attention after looking through all sorts of fruits that I was not familiar with was Korean Pickled Cucumbers. At $35 a jar I did not pull the trigger and get to try them but one of the first things I did when I got home was to ask Alexa, what in God's green earth is a Korean Pickle? Alexa to my surprise said they were better than Western culture pickles!! Ask her for yourself! I ain't lying :-) In addition to the staples in all food markets, like a fish section and a meat section, they have a food court. The food court enticed me as I saw a family eating from a big pot scooping out portions of soup for each other. I will absolutely come back here this week to try their soup and update my review once consumed. They also sell cook ware such as : ramen bowls, sake containers, among many more items. First time here today to meet my Korean-American friend. It's a giant Asian grocery store with a special focus on Korean stuff. It can feel a bit overwhelming if it's your first time. I've been to H-Mart in various cities in the past, but it's my first time in such a big Korean grocery store. I was in a bit rush, so I didn't buy any grocery, but I did eat lunch at the food court. Updating in September 2025 and sorry to say that I can no longer recommend buying seafood here. In recent months I've been burned a couple of times with bad fish. The first time I excused it thinking maybe their freezer had failed or something had happened to the cod I purchased. I returned and figured I'd give everything a smell test and proceed with caution; unfortunately my nose didn't know anything was wrong until I opened the packaging at home and found myself tossing slimy cod and salmon. The fact it was two occasions and two different types of fish is just not ok. I love this market so much that I won't write it off completely but I will be sticking to vegetables, dry goods and packaged items like condiments, etc. It's a shame because they have an extensive and varied fish selection that made this store a destination for me for years but I won't take another chance. read more

It is pretty hard to get super excited about a supermarket. Still, Assi Plaza brings a lot of value to its customers and deserves some positive recognition. It has all the standard offerings of a tradition supermarket, such as produce, meats, and dry goods. It also sells what I'd call knickknack and elements you might need for say your kitchen. Finally, they offer their own prepared foods and have a few small restaurants inside their store which offer take out. So why the praise. Well, first I feel they do all of the above well. Further, they offer a lot of unique produce. Prices are reasonable. They also did an amazing job at the beginning of COVID (everything cleaned, free gloves for all customers) and continue to role model appropriate COVID response. A side note, they also sell plants in April and May. I was very happy with how well the pepper plants I got did in my backyard last year and doubled down this year. Nice to have some home grown options to hold me over between trips. read more

This place has everything, lots of Korean and Chinese grocery items. They have a large selection of products here. Lots of Korean bbq meat here which is perfect for grilling at home. There are chinese veggies here too such as chinese eggplant and taiwanese cabbage. They have everything a traditional grocery has as well. Large parking lot and located in a shopping center in the burbs. I think coming here is less stressful than going to hmart which is in philly. Prices are decent, I think they're about the same as prices at Hmart. There is just more space and it is cleaner here. read more

I always try to seek out an international market where ever I am. Assi Plaza takes things to the next level with their selection. Regardless of which type of cuisine you're interested in....they probably have it. The majority of their space is dedicated to Asian food, but in my opinion, that's necessary for such a vast and exciting cuisine. The produce is the cheapest around. It's a very sizable/perhaps more like huge international/Korean grocery store. If you are looking for any Asian cuisine ingredients, you should be able to find it here. In terms of floor space, it's akin to Walmart Supercenter. Besides its extensive stock items, there's a large seafood section--with some exotic fish and shell fish. Their meat section is very impressive with thinly sliced meat for bulgigi and shabushabu for example. It also has its own food court offering six or so types of Asian/Korean food including Korean BBQ, Ramen & Noodles, packaged sushi, Korean mean dishes, and Bakery. Seating is somewhat limited especially during busy shopping/lunch time on weekends. In addition, they offer a very good selection of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, dishes of all sorts, small appliances, and some boxed gift items. I love Assi plaza, but I'm not sure if it's because there's not a lot of Asian markets around us, haha. I lived in pittsburgh for awhile so I'm super spoiled with the Asian grocery selection. Anyway, I think the best part about Assi plaza is the produce, they always have very affordable fruit. Love the fresh produce selection. Snack wise, I wish there's more Taiwanese snacks, but of course I'm very bias. I also love their food court and the bakery! I always get bread & buns from the bakery there. This is a very interesting store and I recommend trying the food court sometime for lunch but don't get the ramen. It was actually very good but I paid $9 bucks for a bowl of seafood ramen with one shrimp, one mussel and two octopus tentacles. It was very different then the advertised picture as you can see in my photos. The sushi place is ok and I think if you order from the menu instead of just grabbing the prepared selections you will get better choices. I was looking around at what people were getting and some of the stuff looked great , definitely need to check out yelp for some recommendations. read more

I've been shopping at Assi for the past decade. I go about 2-3 times a year to stock up on my Asian food needs. This huge grocery store carries a large variety of primarily Chinese, Japanese, and Korean items at reasonable prices. Aisles and aisles of authentic sauces, noodles, rice, snacks, drinks, spices, prepared food, frozen food, etc. There are also some Latin/Hispanic items as well as your standard "American" stuff, but the latter is unnecessarily overpriced. The store carries a huge selection of produce, including hard-to-find specialties -- nicely priced. Sometimes it looks sketchy, but I guess you get what you pay for. Thankfully I have never gotten sick from whatever I've bought here. Many different meats, poultry, seafood -- so many options! Next to the store (in the same building, but not part of the grocery section) are some small gift shops and Asian cosmetic counters. There are also some quick-service food options, including a bakery. Small restrooms with 2 stalls available between the two sections. Checkout associates are friendly and competent. My only real complaint is the overall cleanliness of the store. Oh, and the fact that it's not closer to my house! ;) read more

A small, but tasty food court, some interesting housewares, and quite a good selection of Asian, and some non-Asian, groceries. Less crowded and a bit larger than the H Mart near me. The Assi Plaza supermarket rocks. It carries an abundance of Korean products and then some (you'll find plenty of Asian items that aren't necessarily Korean). If you're already in the suburbs, Assi saves you a trip to Northeast or South Philadelphia if you usually hit up the Chinese or Vietnamese grocery stores. There's a sick amount of parking. My favorite features of Assi are (1) the Korean meats section, where you can get pre-marinated Korean beef or pork - just grill the meat and you're good to go, and (2) the neighboring food court, with Korean and Japanese establishments. Regarding the Man Nam Korean booth/stall/restaurant: I'm not ashamed to declare my love for Korean cuisine, and if you can get it to me on the cheap, we'll be BFF (Best Friends Forever). Give me enough of their spicy bulgogi, and you'll reduce me to whimpers. Can't beat their good service - they bring your dishes to your table, after you take a number - and you get free barley tea with your lunch! Worth a visit or two, ad nauseam. read more

I have mixed emotions about this place. I love going to Asian grocery stores and browsing around; seeing what familiar objects they have from my travels, what flavor potato chips and snacks they're carrying, the amount of types of fresh fish they have, so on and so forth. Assi is great for that type of thing. Their produce selection is extensive, and you're able to find fruits, vegetables, roots, and (especially) mushroom from around the world. They have a TON of fresh fish, and they're very reasonable priced, from freshly cleaned squid to whole mackerel, all fresh. They'll cut and clean whole fish for you too, although they won't filet them, which is disappointing. I have a few things that bother me about this store though. They lack some meats that you think they'd have. Last time I was here, they did not have fresh oxtail, which is used in all sorts of Asian cooking. They also had pork belly cut all sorts of ways, but when I asked the butchers behind the counter (who were eating where they cut the raw meat - gross) if they could cut me a whole slab, they said they didn't have the ability to do so. It is also extremely disorganized. Painstakingly so. We walked in with a specific recipe in mind and had to walk through the whole store several times looking for specific ingredients. We were there for well over an hour. Asking for help was not much of an option as it seemed the people working there had no idea if they even carried certain products. It looks like they were trying to decide whether to organize products by the country or by type of product (sauce, spice, etc.), and then just kind of..decided, uh.. to do both? It's extremely confusing. I'll continue to come here due to its size and convenience, but they should really step up their game. read more

I'm not one to put up a bad review...So this is telling of how poor my experience was. I went to Assi with my family to get groceries and eat at the food court, and I was shocked at how unfriendly the service was. I often go to Hmart in the Cheltenham/Elkins Parks area and the service there is much friendlier and professional. Grocery Store: My dad asked a man at the customer service desk a simple question and he, without uttering a word or greeting, called another worker to help him instead...In a rather dismissive way. When we we ringing up our items, the cashier looked rather annoyed and impacient. He did make an effort to greet us but that was the extent of his service. Food Court: We decided to eat jjajangmyun, fish cakes and steamed dumplings at the restaurant "Friends"...And the food cost way more than it should have for its quality. Everything was terribly underseasoned and tasted as if the chef hated his/her job. I don't blame the chef too much because the owner seemed unpleasant to work below. He was very curt in responding to my dad, but came around to give us our food with a little more warmth. But exactly when I thought the owner was warming up, he got into a rather loud and aggressive fight with a customer. I'm not sure what it was over or who was to blame...But what I DO know is that he could have been more professional about the whole ordeal. I empathize and understand that service jobs, especially when working in the food/restaurant industry, can be physically exhausting and, even more so, mentally/emotionally draining...BUT as someone who has experience dealing with difficult customers, I still stand by good manners and professionalism... two values that the workers of Assi (based solely on my one experience) seem to have either forgotten or never cared for. read more

Assi Plaza is a Korean Market off of Rt. 63 in North Wales. They have a Supermarket and a food court with Korean delicacies like Korean Fried chicken, Ramen, Sushi and a bakery with plenty of choices for lunch or dinner. There is plenty of parking and the market is well maintained and very clean. I usually dont shop here but I have walked through quite a few times. They have a real nice selection of Oriental food and American foods. I usually come here to eat lunch at the food court. I love the Korean fried chicken at BBQ chicken and the Ramen is very good. They also have a Sushi place and a Bakery which is very good. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for something different than the usual fare. I stop in every once in a while when I am bored with cheesesteaks and pizza and Mexican. Go check it out if you are in the area. read more

It's big. Large inventory in many product categories. Like the food court. It's inexpensive at the food court. Love that they now carry Asian alcohol. Love that they carry some more difficult to find products like rabbit and frogs legs. Good selection of snails that are fresher at different times of the year. They used to carry more live fish than they do now but they still have some. There are usually live crabs. Produce is varied but it's still hit or miss on price and quality. I go there every two weeks or so. I trust the quality and selection of their products. read more

I have a love hate relationship with Assi. I love the hard to find Asian groceries, great food court and the lively fish market. I really hate the attitude and discrimination from the Koreans who work there and if you don't speak Korea they treat you like a second class citizen. I also like to bring my own bags instead of using plastic, and one lady refused to bag my groceries! All in all I wish I have a better alternative but I don't. I have bought flounder that was bad 3 different times here.This last time I don't even think it was flounder it was brown and did not look like flounder.The fish smelled even though it was frozen! The box was strapped shut so did not open until arriving home.Sneaky trick! The plastic bag was not even sealed, wide open!?! Just throw out bad fish do not try to sell it !! yuk! I proceed to return it which is an hour drive for me ...so dissapointed.Customer service refunded me but no apology or anything .The place is dirty also...will not be returning they put out spoiled fish and do not care about their customers.Customer service big fat zero. I enjoy going to this Plaza for my everyday needs. The place is clean but a bit cold. Layer up if you are shopping here but the coldness keeps the food fresh I guess. Better than a warm market. I like that over the years they had added more variety to their store making it a one stop shop for many customers. The staff are great and if they see you often they always say hello to you. This is my favorite supermarket in the North Wales / Montgomeryville area. I love grocery shopping here for both regular groceries as well as their extensive variety of international groceries. While the store specializes in Asian foods, their fruits and vegetables sections are very good and have exotic offerings like jackfruit and imported melons and they have sections for all different nationalities of international food. Whether looking for matcha green tea, mochi, boba, fresh Korean kimchi, or imported salsas from Mexico, they have everything you could possibly want. I love the food court too and frequently will go to the food court for a snack before shopping. The bubble tea shop is amazing and the fresh dumplings or katsu are very good too. read more
