I started visiting this location sometime ago. Parking: a very busy parking lot that fills up quickly. Atmosphere: bright and very noisy Service: most of the workers are very nice and helpful. They are also very engaging and knowledgeable about the products that Trader Joe's sells and they also give great suggestions for recipes and products. Trader Joe's has a cult following and for good reason. They come out with some of the most unique delicious items and very affordable. We are talking from Bison burgers, salmon burgers, mahi mahi burgers, some of the most artisan Italian frozen dinners straight from you guessed it Italy. Snacks galore, seasonal purple Ube Ice cream, Ube tea cookies, organic mini peanut butter cookies. Okay, okay I am done sprouting off some of the items that I get on a regular basis. This store is filled with kind, hardworking employees. Even though Trader Joe's is supposed to be a good store for affordable produce and groceries, it no longer is. It's unfortunate that the costs are so high, but the staff is always busy and there are always plenty of workers in the store at all times so I'm sure the company is paying for people to support their families and I would rather shop at a store like that than one where employees are obviously overworked and under-appreciated. read more

I usually try to stop in on Wednesday's on my way home from work. I am walking and the cashier says "Josh, I can take you over here." I'm like, "Did you call me Josh?" "Yeah man, that's your name right?" I realize I had him as my cashier a week or so ago. You know how many people this guy probably sees in a weeks time? I'll tell you as the reader the same thing I told him, "That's some damn good customer service!" He goes on to tell me how he tries to remember a person every day so he can say hello next time. For someone that has to deal with the pretentious people that go here, you'd figure he'd be content with just doing a good job but not Mike, he takes it a step further and makes the interaction memorable. I've always viewed TJ's as a great snack spot instead of a great supermarket. When I do shop here, I always seem to only get snacks. Today I grabbed some smoothies, jerk plantain chips, guacamole, Turkey & Bison jerky and a Ceasar salad. They were all pretty good save for the Turkey bar. Everyone is always pleasant at TJ's and the prices are okay but my only complaint is the overcrowded space. There are always so many people in such a small area. I never get a cart and sometimes I don't even use a basket because it gets too crowded. read more

The most obnoxious TJ's staff I've ever encountered are at this store. Some are actually kind of aggressive and bordering on rude, most are just unfriendly, and then a few are kind. Based on what I've seen, this is a trickle down from the management there. I wish it wasn't the closest TJ's to me by far because it's also the worst one I've ever been to, by far. I try to hit the other ones while I'm in the area so I can avoid having to stop here... but the overall brand is good, so I haven't given it up totally. read more

Who doesn't love Trader Joe's? Actually, I may know the answer partially - people who haven't tried it. I know because that was me. I hated on TJ's and thought it was another Whole Foods-esque grocery store that would be overpriced. My wife and I finally visited our local Trader Joe's after a friend explained the concept behind it. I have to say we loved it right off the bat. I love it simply because I don't have to hunt for items. If my wife tells me to get Cheerios, I know there is going to be one kind of Cheerios. :) Okay, okay, that's what I like. The pre-made meals are amazing and make throwing great meals in the oven after a log day of work easy. They customer service is fantastic. It might be pricier than our usual Walmart visit for groceries, but not by much. The mood at a TJ is fun and since they are small, you can be in and out more quickly. Is this a joke?!?! Absolutely terrible. This is the Guilt Free Mac N Cheese...Awful!!! Tasteless and the portion is honestly laughable. I used to be TJ's biggest fan. They have completely fell off. Higher prices are understood but with low quality as well is unacceptable!! I stopped shopping there for a few months hoping they could work it out. But clearly they have not! Fresh Edamame has gone bad numerous times, Fresh Tamales are dry and tasteless now, Frozen Tamales had a rock in them. Ciabatta bread ‍ Goes bad within a couple days. I'm done with this place! We love Trader Joe's. he wife and I love to date night by grocery shopping. It's a shame PA law doesn't allow TJ to sell their brand of alcohol. We sure miss the TJ wine connoisseurs. It's so sad. Location: TJ is a bit far from our house. Wish they had more locations. But it's close to Wegmans and Whole Foods so it make sense and it's not that bad. Service: The staff is excellent. Although I do like several options of frozen foods at Trader Joe's, my recent experience with a manager reinforces why I seldom ever shop there. I went to pay for my selections and was told I could not purchase more than 10 of one particular frozen food(despite no sign saying this restriction anywhere near food). There were probably about 40 or more of same thing still in freezer. I wasn't wiping out their stock. The checker called the manager when I asked if they ever make exceptions (since no sign was posted) and I already had items in the basket at the checkout, but manager was very gruff and unfriendly. I won't be going back anytime soon(this visit was only because my daughter requested her favorite food from there). I had no idea about their "policy" because it is NOT POSTED anywhere visible and manager didn't care. read more

The employees are the nicest, upbeat, and, helpful people you could ask for. I love the selection, variety, and rotation of different items. The prices are great. My ONLY complaint is, their paper products (toilet paper&paper towels) are abysmally atrocious in quality. I've been in third-world countries with better quality paper situations. I don't understand how so many of their products are outstanding, yet they fail so horrendously in the paper quality. It's ok, I'll just go elsewhere for paper products. If it's an environmental issue, make better paper products and STOP deforesting small countries manufacturing your paper bags. I drive about 40 minutes to get to this Trader Joe's and it's always worth it. They always have my classic old favorites and I'm constantly intrigued and pleased with new products to try. This location has done an amazing job sticking to covid guidelines. There's always a line of socially distanced customers waiting to get in but it moves very quickly,with a staff member waiting to greet you inside offering hand sanitizer and a clean cart. read more

We love Trader Joe's and this location was no exception! Everything was well stocked and only a limited amount of guests were allowed in at a time to prevent the spread of covid. Additionally, 6ft tape was marked outside of the store to prevent guests from crowding one another and water bottles were handed out to guests outside in the hot summer heat. Very impressed! I just wish TJ's would cut back on the excessive amount of processed food it is selling which now accounts for about 50% or more of its inventory! Ok, I don't know why people seem to have problems asking questions--if you have a question at a Trader Joe's store, go up to the customer service station by the cash registers; I've personally found that they're always more than willing to help out. I love love LOVE Trader Joe's. The store area is smaller than a traditional grocery store, which was a bit off putting at first, however for what they offer, suits them perfectly. A lot of the products can be found elsewhere, but they have put everything one may want, at a great price point, in one area. Some of their produce is a bit expensive, however I've found a good variety, and the best of quality. They have a great variety of pre-packaged meals to go as you enter the store, and it all tastes FANTASTIC! The boy tried some sushi, and loved it, and I'm a fan of the lentil bean middle eastern salad. :) They have options from vegan, to meat lovers, soy to milk. They have things for everyone's budget, and some of the best, and healthiest frozen options I've seen (which is important for any college student who works full time). The bell system is confusing (..what the hell is 'three bells!!!!' which they scream, but you can insert any number in there) but is something more for communication amongst employees, and they never question returns--if you don't like it, they'll take it back, which was helpful when I bought a different type of break (I need to stick to the Ezekiel brand :( ). They have everything. End of story. Affordable, Genuinely kind (yet spunky) employees, and KICK ASS samples. all the time. This is the closest Trader Joe's location to my house which is still too far to make it a weekly stop. I only shop here every now and then. I like certain products here and generally their prices are good. However for overall shopping experience I do not like Trader Joe's. It is always overcrowded and it is hard to locate many things since they stock stuff over their freezer cases. I also HATE checking out. Not because of the staff - the staff is great. But the counters are small and it is hard to pack bags and I always feel RUSHED ! I feel like I am missing something because no one else seems to have this problem. Is it just me? Is there a guide to how to check out at Trader Joe's that I do not know about? I also hate that all of their carts are outside in the front of the store. There is no cart corral in the parking lot either which is annoying. The staff is great and super knowledgeable and friendly which is refreshing! Trader Joe's feels like your friendly neighborhood grocery store. It's chain, yes, but make no mistake... this ain't your momma's big box retailer. Wonderful in house items (nearly everything is "TJ brand") and the best deals on organic and local produce this side of a farmers market. It isn't the type of place where you can get everything on your list, but the quality and quirkiness of what you can get makes up for this minor inconvenience. Spiced vacuum packed chickpeas, oh yes... worth a Lysol and Pampers trade off any day. Most of the prepackaged foods make a great grab and go lunch. With one glaring exception. The sushi is, in a word, awful. The only reason TJ's loses a star from me is this major flaw and what I consider to be just plain laziness. In the modern world, decent sushi can be purchased at hospital cafeterias and at some gas stations. The Montogmeryville area is ripe with *superb* sushi vendors eager to please. Get with the times, Joe! Most of my cart gets filled with "grocery basics": the organic kid's yogurt still has six cups, which is a big deal at my house given that most of the other brands have downsized to a stingy four. Organic Greek yogurt, a nice selection of organic fruit and veg, hummus, smoked Gouda, gnocchi, pistachio and chocolate covered toffee, smoked trout, chocolate cherry soy cream, CHILI SPICED MANGO... mmmmmm. Ok, off track a bit. Trader Joe's is like Target for foodies. You go in for one thing and suddenly you're in your car cramming your face with wasabi almonds and apologizing to your spouse because the passenger seat is full of curly willow branches and cured meat. If you're not into kids, they do seem to put away the kiddie sized carts on Saturdays during the busy rush. Otherwise, later evenings and later Saturday and Sunday are the best times to go for near vacant shopping conditions. (They're open till 8p) The Kid seems to enjoy pushing her own little red cart, but I have to watch her like a hawk. On today's visit she managed to pack 4 packages of lox into her cart while my back was turned. (Now where did she learn that?) TJ's is where I go for *treats*. Go with a basic list, but make sure to bring a few extra bucks for your favorite vice. read more

More like Scammer Joe's. "Quinoa Bread" shouts the label in large letters in a decorative purple font on the wrapper of the Trader Joe branded loaf my wife brought home. Below that is a blurb extolling the benefits of quinoa. Below that the ingredients. First ingredient after water? Whole wheat flour. Second ingredient after water? Enriched wheat flour. With a lengthy list of additives, just like Wonder Bread. Later down in the list? Wheat gluten Gluten? What?! In't that the shit people are trying to avoid by eating quinoa?? WTF! And then? Cracked wheat And what?! Even more wheat?? Cultured wheat starch And barley. And barley flour. And barley malt. And oats. Oh yea, and quinoa flour and quinoa grain. Quinoa grain?? But quinoa is a seed, not a grain. There is no such thing as quinoa grain. I think you mean to say ground quinoa seeds. Screw you Trader Joe. We're trying to eat health here and paying you a premium to do so and you're passing off gussied-up Wonder Bread as health food. read more

Out here, Joe is way less crowded than the location in the city, yet he's still trading quality stuff. For instance, I traded him 10 bucks for a case of sparkling water, which hydrates me equally as well as the free water from my tap, but provides a tingly sensation during consumption. So, fair trade. I also traded him $2.99 for a massive bag of salt and pepper chips. They were as delicious as fried potato shavings can be, and I'm pretty sure they have no carbs. I think I won on that trade. Then he traded me 1.99 for a couple of bars of soap. They wash me pretty well, but don't provide the tingly sensation of Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap. I think Joe wins that trade. I adore Trader Joe's. In California, I lived within walking distance of one, and I really, really miss that. {sniffle} I drive an hour to get to this location, and go about once a month. It's totally worth the drive, but I sure wish that there were one closer! Like right in Bethlehem! It would be an instant success, for sure. We bought EIGHT BAGS of groceries, full reusable bags, too, for the same as what I pay for about five bags at Wegman's. It's ridiculous. And I get so many cool things, too.... Why oh why aren't there more of these in PA? And to add insult to injury, there's a Whole Foods practically next door to it! There aren't any Whole Foods in Bethlehem! WTF? Seriously, people. I definitely love the wide aisles at this TJ's. Best place for good organic frozen foods, frozen fish, Coffee, and packaged goods. Sometimes produce and can sometimes be hit or miss. Count me in as being one who things TJ's is over-rated. Don't get me wrong, it is a great store when you compare it to Giant but for opener's, it could be a lot larger and/or half the store doesn't have to be dedicated to alcohol. I really only go for a few speciality items. I can't imagine having to rely on this place to live unless I was an alcoholic.
