When it first opened many years ago it was really great - the food, the atmosphere, the service. But it has been disappointing more often than not as time goes on. The spring rolls are saturated with oil, the salads seem to be thrown together and are not fresh. Some of the dishes are tasty but there are a lot of fillers as someone else mentioned. The service is always friendly, helpful and responsive. One big turn off is the entrance is dirty and always is the same no matter what time or day I go. The door is filthy as is the little entryway. My thought is, if this is what we see - a lack of cleanliness - what is it we are not seeing? They have been cited for lapses in the kitchen in the recent past. This has been the only Asian spot in town for takeout and dine in with parking. The sushi is good and would recommend the rolls or customize something like yellowtail jalapeño. The sashimi is and sushi appetizers are also excellent. Chinese food tastes like neighborhood takeout. General Tso's, lo mein, scallion pancakes, beef and broccoli, and chicken with garlic sauce are exactly what you'd expect. There's a better spot in Doylestown. Skip the Thai food unless you're looking for bland uninspired Thai food without the proper ingredients. Dining in the fish tanks look great. read more

I've been here twice & was disappointed both times. The restaurant is in an upper level corner in Logan Square, just outside of New hope. Both times, parking was impossible. No spaces & a criminal lack of adequate handicapped parking. Then, be warned, there are ten steps UP to get into the restaurant. The place is well lit & clean. There is not always a host at the desk to greet you. The menu is a large conglomeration of Asian foods, including sushi, Thai, Chinese, & Japanese. On my first visit I started with the Spring Roll which was the best thing I ate here. Crispy, not greasy, & filled with fresh vegetables. I also ordered the Orange Chicken, which was not crispy & was covered by a thick, overly sweet, gelatinous orange sauce. The portion was huge, but the taste was lacking the spice level requested (medium). On my second visit, I ordered the Eggplant in Garlic Sauce, & asked them to add chicken. Again, the portion was huge. The chicken was tender, but the eggplant was thick, large pieces, which varied between undercooked & mushy, & the sauce was bland. I can't recommend this restaurant given my choice of dishes, though other diners enjoyed their dishes, though no rave reviews other than comments on the large portions. read more

It's been awhile since I've ordered from here. I was constantly disappointed so I decided to part ways. I've been craving Egg Rolls so decided to give it another try. Ordering was easy online. I received a text when it was ready. The Garden Salad was good, they actually give you more than chopped up Iceberg. You get Spring Mix, a few Grape Tomatoes and a few slices of Cucumber. I love their Ginger dressing too. The Egg Rolls were crispy not overly oily. Also had the Plain Lo Mein (to avoid any vegetables I might dislike). It had just enough flavor to not be boring and it wasn't greasy. I also went for an old favorite, the Stir Fried String Bean. There's two versions on the menu, one under Thai Entrees and one listed under Vegetarian. I ordered the Vegetarian, since the menu says it's sautéed in Garlic. The Thai entree, says String Beans AND Bell Peppers in Spicy Curry and Soy Bean Paste. Even though my Beans had Peppers mixed in, it wasn't the Thai version. The sauce was light. I think this is my first review. Mostly because yelp is such a dark, evil place where people who have never worked in the restaurant industry take out their frustrations of their marriage, career, friendships, or family on independent business owners. Based on the limited reviews here, someone needs to say something because the score is just simply a damn crime. So here I am. I came here tonight with my mom, passing through New Hope for a motivationless country drive. We just craved chinese food and this was the nearest place. The decor is kitschy Jersey neon with fishtanks and space ship curved walls. The staff is youngish high schoolers but all unfailingly sweet and polite and expedient. Now, my mom and I can't speak for the sushi because it wasnt the mood. But we sat near the counter and the platings looked like they slapped. What we did order was the chicken satay, the veggie tempura, some salad, the scallion pancake, the chicken pad thai, and the orange chicken. Think of our order as unadventurous, but I'll call you rude. The prices were inexpensive, the servings were gigantic, and it tasted not just passably good. It was literally top 5 lifetime order. The vegetables were gigantic like they escaped a lab. The orange chicken actually had peels and a marmalade flavor. Not the typical, ketchup-y mess I keep receiving in Philly. Now. Keep in mind. Her and I werent starved in cages nor have a palette cultivated by truck stop tuna sandwiches. We arent hayseeds. This authentically ruled without bias. So if you're on the fence, go. Another great experience at Wild Ginger. I always forget how big (and delicious) the portions are so we over ordered. Liz, our server, was very efficient and friendly. She did an amazing job serving and, instead of dropping some plastic plates on our table for the leftovers, she took the food back to the kitchen and brought it back well packaged. Wild Ginger III in the Logan Square Shopping Center, New Hope, has a great name and suggests a deep excursion into the jungles of Southeast Asia. The layout of the restaurant reinforced that sensibility with huge tropical fish tanks and beautiful blue, green and indigo neon lit walls and ceiling. It is an auspicious beginning for a new guest, although the fishy smell permeating the room from both the tanks and sushi bar do detract from the gestalt somewhat. Unfortunately, that is not where the disappointment ends. I was there for the Thai and Chinese offerings of its fusion menu. Tom Kar (lemongrass/coconut milk soup), Pad Kee Mao and Szechuan Beef were my choices. I planned to eat the first two in house and take the third home for later consumption by the family working until later that evening. I like spicy dishes unadulterated forward the western pallette, so I asked for the hottest rendition available. I wasn't kidding, but the kitchen didn't believe me. The soup had plenty of fresh veggies and sweet coconut juice, but lacked the kick of lemongrass. It wasn't in the pot! Rather than red chili infused broad drunken noodles in a super heated brown sauce, what I got was actually sweet to my tongue, without a hint of the desired fire. I had to send it back to be reworked. It returned, the same noodles, but with some chili sauce or ground Szechuan red peppers or paste mixed in. It wasn't integrated, but I spun it for a moment and it was acceptable. Shame, because the noodles, veggies and chicken were all tender and done well. At home we dug into the Szechuan Beef over rice. Again, it looked great and properly wokked, but without a sign of red chili pepper. It was hot as requested, but the burn came from chili powder or paste thrown into the sauce that attached itself to the meat far more that the broccoli, onions and green peppers. Not bad, but clearly prepared by a kitchen lacking the right ingredients to actually produce a Szechuan dish correctly. Disappointing. Wild Ginger is a misnomer. "Mild Ginger," is closer to the truth. Another case of Asian confusion, not fusion. read more

Dined here on a Wednesday evening and I was not impressed. Server was good, but kitchen service was slow and not up to expectations. We ordered shrimp summer rolls as an appetizer which were loosely wrapped and falling apart on the plate. Further, the rice paper was not prepared properly as it was soggy. However, the dipping sauce was very good. My dining partner had the string bean with chicken entree, which was very good and had the proper amount of heat (spice level). I had the massamum curry with chicken, which was unimpressive and lacked heat (spice level). It was marked with a chili pepper on the menu and I expected some heat with the dish. We had brown rice as the accompaniment to the entrees and it was prepared well. Likely will be a while before I give wild ginger III another try. read more

Located in an outdated center between New Hope and Lahaska, this finds almost didn't happen. I was concerned about everything from freshness to quality to creativity. Suffice it to say I found no reason to be concerned. Not only was the fish fresh and tender, but every single item we ordered was top flight. I ordered garlic edamame, which isn't on the menu, and they accommodated me. It was perfect. The Wild Ginger soup was a cross between hot and sour soup and a seafood meal. THAT would have been enough. But NOOOOOO... we ordered two rolls and then a third! Tempura lobster (I almost never order tempura) was exceptional, as was the Wild Ginger roll. I only ever get sushi so take my review with a grain of salt (rice?), but it's always excellent. I highly recommend the Buddha's roll, peanuts and avocado with this amazing sauce, which is both very cheap (like $5 I think?) and so amazing. I'm also into the one with banana, I can't explain it. I also love anything they make with spicy tuna but that's probably more of me thing TBF. Some of my family are vegan/vegetarian and they love all the options at WG3, so we order from here a lot. This place has some good things but they should be horribly embarrassed to serve their sesame chicken. Half of the pieces don't even have chicken in them, just the breading. The pieces that do have chicken in them are still more breading than chicken. I bought it for my kids but it was hard to serve it to them. They need to do better. read more

Off the charts! Really really that good. I had a chicken curry dish that blew me away; it was so good and flavorful. My wife had tuna sushi, that she said was the freshest tuna she had ever had. She also went with beef Satay with peanut sauce that was so fresh and tasty. To wrap up, we arrived at Wild Ginger III in New Hope PA by accident, but it was a great mistake. I brought my car in for service next door at New Hope Auto Sales when I discovered this place. The staff at the auto sales recommended I should try Wild Ginger. I was happy to find out this place isn't anywhere as expensive as I've thought. Thai restaurants around here tend to be on the pricey side. The restaurant is nicely decorated, a lot of moody lights and fish tanks give it a unique and intimate atmosphere, this is definitely good for date night. The service is good but a bit confusing. My hostess brought me to my table and I had a waiter but later on my waiter disappeared and my hostess became my waiter. They both did good, it was just strange. I had the lunch special, which came with a soup and salad. I ordered thai garlic sauce stir fried with beef for my special. The soup and salad came out first, I got tom yum soup with chicken. The soup was good in flavor but they had baby corn in there. I personally don't like baby corn in thai soup because it isn't authentic, it's like putting goat in a chicken pot pie, its my pet peeve. Baby corn is a very distinctive vegetables in Chinese cooking. Nevertheless it was tasty. The salad was also good, the dress was delicious, I wish I had a little more. The entree was the true highlight here. The thai garlic sauce was just out of the world good. I asked for extra spicy and I'm glad I did. It added a greater depth to the sauce. The beef was tender and soaked in that sauce. The only complaint would be the rice, which were on the dry side. Overall, it was a good experience, plus the entire meal was $8, you can't really lose. There are a lot of items on the menu and I plan on coming back to try them all. When you are done, take your receipt 2 doors down, there is a icecream/bubble tea place, they will give you 15% off with your receipt. read more

This was my second time at Wild Ginger in New Hope as a 'sit down' customer and it will be my LAST. The only reason Wild Ginger doesn't receive 1 star is the quality of it's sushi, which is quite good. However the service is DEPLORABLE. Once again there is no management or adult supervision in the restaurant of any kind. Once seated it took 5 minutes for someone to come over and drop over water....then the person ran away before I could ask for sake glasses (which should have been obvious to bring along as the sake bottle was on the table). Then after another 10 minutes I had to grab a waiter from a different table to take my order. The salad was delivered within 5 minutes, but it took 30 minutes for the sashimi and sushi to arrive. Seriously? On top of that the staff didn't clear a single table during the hour long debacle that was dinner. And furthermore, when the sashimi and sushi was delivered they have these cute little plastic flowers on the plate... however they don't appear to clean them as there was soy sauce splashed on one... What was also amazing was the staff's favorite phrase...'Im sorry'...as it was used at a great many tables in earshot. If the owners of this restaurant want to be in business in 6 months, they need to get their heads out of their rectums and train their staff on customer service, put in place a proper manager at all times and hire a bus boy to bus the tables. MY DINNER WAS AWESOME! We always go here when we don't want to cook on a weekend. It's just always spot on, the prices are reasonable, and we get coupons! Tonight for dinner, i got massumum curry with chicken and brown rice. It's my first time trying curry from here (i usually get pad thai or sushi) but i was feeling something with rice tonight. I originally planned on fried rice but being gluten free, i got scared that soy sauce would sneak it's way in, so i decided to try something new and i'm so glad i did! The portion was HUGE and you bet i ate all of it and i don't regret a single thing. The curry was rich and creamy, the potatoes tasted like home fries, and the chicken was so tender. My only minor complaint was that i wish it were spicier! Dad got shrimp lo mein and mom got chicken pad thai, both with ginger salads, and they both gave 2 thumbs up as well. Being gluten free, i always worry with asian cuisine because soy sauce is obviously frequently used. Other than being full, i'm having no issues and that is AMAZING!! I totally recommend any curry dish if you are gluten sensitive or are celiac. Next time, i'll either get the same thing, or try the panang!! read more

All I can say is definitely not a good experience with my boyfriend's pad thai chicken, mostly over-sauced noodles, little else , nor my order, which I had asked for pad thai with broccoli and without soy sauce, and received plain rice noodles and steamed broccoli shoved into a plastic container. Well the prices can not be beat! $8 for lunch which includes soup and salad, as well as a large entree selection. They also have choice of soups (instead of just the standard miso) which I've never seen before. The decor is really cute as well, with fish tanks and nice lights, similar to Sampan's. The place is kind of difficult to find, it is on the corner of the raised brown stores with the fence around them. The menu has a ton of options from rice, noodles, sushi and entrees, but definetly go during lunch, otherwise it is a bit pricey. Also, apparently there is another Ginger 3, so make sure you are at the right one! Anyway, my chicken curry was fantastic. I thought the pad thai was just OK.
