Today was my first visit to Sakura Express. It was hard to find a current menu so I wanted to make sure I took photos so no one else will go in blind! Clean interior with just enough decorations to tell you you're in an Asian restaurant. The sushi was 4 stars worthy. I had one shrimp tempura roll and one Boston roll. Ordered through DoorDash -- we ordered at 5:50 - they said order would be an hour -- after two messages that our food would be delivered in two minutes -- we got another message that it was going to be 20 more minutes. After an hour and half, we called the restaurant -- said they had a "big order" that came in. That's fine - but don't lie and say it's on the way -- if we knew, we would have just ordered elsewhere. The woman was rude and tried to hang up when I canceled the order. I feel bad for the DoorDash drivers that have to wait like that. It's an hour and forty-five minutes later and we're still getting messages that they're on the way. Don't order take out with them. read more

So, so, so HAPPY. I'm pretty simplistic when it comes to Chinese/Japanese food. Asked for two each Shrimp Salmon and Tuna sushi, w/ extra wasabi and ginger. Also good ole general Tso's w/fried rice. The Shrimp looked like lobster tails! Ice cold sweet and awesome. The tuna and salmon were HUGE! And fresh and sweet. The ginger and wasabi is of high quality! The sticky rice was perfect! I ordered Hibachi to go. The girls working the register were very sweet but very unexperienced. I'm a pain when it comes to ordering food cause I like extra sauce. When I asked they both looked at me like I was crazy. The owners were not pleasant didn't even say hello or ask to help the poor girl at the register and they were both standing right there. Got home and started eating. Very disappointed. The taste was awful I couldn't even eat it. To be fair maybe the sushi is better. I am giving it a 2 star just because I feel awful giving a one star and I hope they read this review and step it up!!! Care about your customers. And teaching your employees properly it goes along way. read more

This restaurant finally opened after maybe half a year of construction. Our expectations weren't very high but it ended up not that bad. Not THAT bad. We ordered the Hawaii and eel sushi rolls, at a reasonable price. We also got miso soup and their hibachi noodles and fried rice combo. The wait was longer than expected, but everything came as soon as it was ready. The rolls were pretty good, but fairly small portions. The miso soup just tasted like it came out of a package, so not too happy there. And the fried rice was a letdown. The rice had no flavor except salt and oil. There wasn't a lot of shrimp, and even that had little flavor. The fried noodles were also very flavorless..and the steak was tough. The reason I didn't give this place a 3 star is because the sushi was actually not bad, and the service was great. The owner and employees were really welcoming and nice. Overall, I think this place is worth the visit if you get the sushi. The others are not as worthy. read more

Called for Take- out...waited 40minutes to pick up and then waited another 20 minutes in line. Ordered: Hibachi Shrimp Fried Rice...no flavor, tiny shrimp, HUGE chunks of Onion and Broccoli. Bento Box Shrimp Teriyaki....again no flavor, canned pineapple, white rice that was brown, sushi was just ok...i'd rather go to the ACME. Shrimp and Scallop Hibachi:...tasteless, gigantic chunks of carrots and they forgot the eggroll. they need to work on presentation, chopping vegetables and seasoning their dishes. won't go back! Try Siam or OOKA for a great meal! read more

We really wanted to like this new place and were excited to see a Japanese place open. Unfortunately this place is terrible. There is nothing Japanese about it--the chicken teriyaki was odd; chopped small chicken pieces with oil and soy sauce, with big boiled carrots and some zucchini. Even the rice was bad--it was brown from the oil on the griddle--not fried rice, just bad. How do you ruin white rice? The tempura shrimp roll was ok when slathered with the mayo sauce. Really unfortunate. If the owners/managers read this, please work to improve and we will try again. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews. My wife and I get sushi here often and it's always good, if not better than good. The prices are decent and it's close by. A much better option than going into Doylestown and paying their insane prices for similar quality sushi. read more

I have to echo some of the other reviews, we really had hoped this would be a good place, but it just misses on so many levels. The service was friendly, but awkward, and that was about the best part of our visit. The sushi I ordered, well tasted OK, but really was not like any sushi I have ever had, yellow-tail scallion roll was made with some type of minced fish mixture - kinda sketchy. Not a solid part of fresh fish. The Steak-Scallop hibachi - well, was just unacceptable. The tiny (frozen type?) scallops were old, like bad tasting, I set them aside on my plate, but the flavor permeated everything that had been cooked in the sauce. Separate large pieces of steamed carrot were the highlight of the meal. All of the food is served as if it is to go; soup in a closed plastic container, my meal in one of those fold-to-close styrofoam boxes, my wife's noodle dish was in a covered plastic take out tray. We literally threw out the leftovers and took the tray. This is supposedly Japanese food in a Chinese take out format, but there is not too much that is Japanese here, including any of the staff. I try to be as stingy with one star reviews as I am with 5s, for a 2, I am saying you may still want to try it, but a 1 as here = really, I can not even recommend that you try. read more

We will definitely order again. The food was good, but I was especially impressed by the way that they handled my vegan order. They prepared it completely separately and even bagged it separately. I was really looking forward to having a Japanese restaurant so close by that was not in Doylestown. That being said the service was not very friendly and the food was horrific. The steak that I got was dry and chewy. The miso soup was so hot that it melted the tofu and burnt your tongue so you could not taste anything. When you have a restaurant in an area that has several restaurants that have fantastic food, you have to have higher standards. I will not be coming back there anytime soon. This is close by and was going to be perfect, our expectations were that it would be mediocre, but a do-able place to grab something quick that wasn't fast food or Chinese!!! The steak was that mush steak that is super cheap and all fat, not thoroughly cooked, the shrimp was passed it's prime as were the scallops. We also ordered tempura shrimp. Previously frozen from Costco for sure, I've bought them there, lol. Everything was bad, and everything was drenched in oil and just such sub par ingredients that I was questioning whether it was meant for human consumption. Really.
