First time here and was recommended by my physical therapy place. Since I don't live in the area I always like to try new places in this area. I ordered Lox and a poached egg on a small bagel benedict. It has cream cheese, red onion, tomato, capers, and hollandaise sauce. Grits changes daily. The one in the picture has chorizo, and green chilli. Very good they should have it daily or have a few choices. Apparently, they change the flavor of the grits daily. My boyfriend ordered the French toast and added candy walnuts which cost .99¢ extra which was ok. It was a good choice addition. They give you syrup which is warm in a bottle. Another great addition. The ham looked and tasted dry, so I wouldn't recommend that item to order as a side dish. The staff is very nice and attentive. They were not very busy maybe 15 tables of customers. The reason for 4 stars and not 5. My poached eggs came out with the whites runny, which was raw. The manager told me they are poached soft. I told her I wanted the yolk runny, but the whites cooked. Which the whites should always be cooked with any eggs Benedict. She told me next time to order them poached medium. Hmmm. Ok. They remade the dish and the yolk was poached hard. At that point I would rather have a cooked egg than have it be raw. A restaurant should know how to cook a poached egg that is serving eggs. The other disappointment is that besides the restaurant tax they charge a 2% city tax in addition. I guess this is a Carmel tax?!? Total cost of the bill with a cup of coffee. 28.00 read more

Inconsistent takeout service. My family loves eating at wild eggs, it was actually our go to for breakfast since moving from Hawaii to Indiana. The price is affordable and customer service is always outstanding. I recommend dining in. Due to the lack of the inconsistency of ordering takeout. I've ordered pancakes and specifically ask for extra butter, just to home to find out there was no butter at all in the bag. Just tried this place for the first time and I enjoyed it. I met my friend for brunch but we didn't indulge in the normal boozy brunch. Even though they had $2 mimosas we just weren't feeling drinking, but everyone else in there was. I got the wild berry crepes and they were good! I also got the fried potatoes and they were okay but not my favorite kind of potatoes. My friend got the breakfast nachos and they were massive and she said very delicious. I didn't like that they didn't have siracha , as I always put that on my potatoes but I used like a pepper sauce they had and it was okay. The cinnamon rolls are the main reason to have breakfast here. They have to be made fresh. they come out hot and gooey in a skillet right to the table. One if big enough to share, but I could eat an entire one myself. They have a wide variety of food choices and I have a few favorites so we always share the cinnamon roll to leave room for the actual breakfast. The Huevos Rancheros and breakfast burrito are my favorite entrees. I also like the Yellow Submarine when I feel more like lunch. I'm way overdue for writing a review of Wild Eggs since my husband and I eat here almost weekly. Of the three Indy locations, this one is my favorite. The staff is nice and attentive, service is quick, and the food is consistently great. Being able to get on the waitlist through the Yelp app ahead of time is convenient and a must on weekends when the waits can be long. We usually get on the waitlist as we head out the door and have very little wait time when we reach the restaurant. Thanks, Yelp! I'm not sure you can go wrong on the menu. My husband has ordered many items and liked them all. The one thing we felt was a miss was when he ordered crepes one time. They tasted great, but the size of the meal seemed much smaller compared to what you get with all of the meals that come with side items. My tried and true is the "Wild Western" omelet. I absolutely love it. I have always been a "western" or "Denver" omelet orderer, and Wild Egg keeps me from ordering them much anymore because their "wild" one that subs out the green pepper for fresh jalapeños and serranos is top notch for someone who loves spicy food. I also really love their pancakes, which they let you sub for a muffin for $0.99. I do ask them to not powder sugar it however. They go heavy with the stuff despite the picture of pancakes on the wall not having any. We are pretty much regulars at this location, with many staff members recognizing us, saying hi, and some remembering our orders and bringing out drinks right away. It's Saturday morning. Breakfast didn't happen because I was half awake and am STILL not sure how I even got to work. That rumble... Is it thunder? Nope. It's my gut. Full Disclosure: I HATE Breakfast. Lamest meal of the day for over 100 years. Before then, you could have steak, stew, etc. and nobody got on your case about it. But times changed, we got grocery stores with Pop Tarts, Cereal, Waffles, more Cereal. I just want to hang myself in the toilet when I see the menu every day. The only items I like for breakfast is a full court press (Bacon, eggs, toast, hash browns, or an Omelette.) So, I ordered a Make-Shift Mediterranean With Knives - (or, a meat of some kind). Door Dash would run the order. The food arrived. Eggs were cooked to perfection. The mix was just the right balance of ingredients which was Turkey Sausage, Feta, Spinach, Tomatoes with a cheddar in the backdrop. I got the toast and they didn't skimp on the butter like every other place does. If we ever survive Covidgeddon, I WILL order again. read more

I went with six people. One person ordered poached egg soft, and they came out hard boiled I ordered pumpkin pancakes. They came out raw. Had them remake them and they never came out. Had to ask again for them to make them again. when they did come out they came out to go and we only got one pancake instead of two that were on the order and again raw! Say it with me everyone - OVER-RATED. I used to frequent this place weekly (usually on a Saturday or Sunday morning) so this review is based of the Carmel weekend experience. First off there is always a 45+ min wait. The frustrating part about this is that there are plenty of open tables just waiting for people to sit at them. Big delay in getting open tables seated and staff in my opinion poorly managed table seating. Secondly, once your seated it's terrible service at best. We ordered their mimosas and it took them over 10 mins to return with them. On top of that the food comes slow and if they could at least keep the drinks flowing the poor service would be bearable. Lastly, in my opinion you're way over paying for a sub par place. Wild eggs you will pay $8 for a champaign glass full of mimosa? Ya, see ya later wild eggs. If I'm paying that for a mimosa I'm going to take my business to a breakfast place with an all you can drink deal for $2 more. For example, bar loui literally right next door serves $2 mimosas all day Saturday and Sunday. And would recommend that over wild eggs. Much better food, much better service. read more

Amazing food, drooling thinking about it. The menu has so much variety, things for picky eaters all the way to the largest pallet eaters. There's French toast, Omelettes, bowls, coffee, pancakes, toast, everything. All of the basic breakfast items but on a new level, like the stuffed french toast. Been to Wild Eggs a good number of times. Tried a few different dishes, but ever since I had their biscuits and gravy I never get anything else now. It's really good. They have two different gravies, and you can get it half and half if you want (highly recommended!!) Only issue I have is that they don't season their breakfast potatoes at all. It's not really a "hang out" place like some of the other restaurants in the area with similar menus, but the food is solid and the customer service is great. Menu was pretty extensive, with most of the items being a dressed-up version of normal breakfast fare. I think that I had some kind of French Toast with a side of scrambled eggs. Everything tasted great. You can get an early start on your coffee while waiting too. Pricewise I would say this in the middle. To get an expensive breakfast, you need to go to Chicago. VerdicTL;DR: WE LOVE EATING THE YELLOW SUBMARINE! Wild Eggs is a breakfast / brunch / lunch place in an upscale plaza near downtown Carmel. It is a charming place, and it was one of the first places where my family had breakfast when we first moved into the area. If the crowds on Saturday mornings are anything to go by, this has to be one of the more popular breakfast spots around. Let's start with the service. The service is always friendly, but it wildly varies in promptness depending on how busy they are. If you come at 9 on a weekday, for instance, you can expect the place to be empty, and for service to be like lightning. If you come at 8 on a Saturday, on the other hand, expect a lengthy wait to be seated, and relatively slow service throughout. Given how frenetic and busy they get on Saturdays I don't blame them, but the whole thing does strike me as being a load balancing problem. The drinks are wonderful -- the coffee especially. Finally, a place that doesn't over-roast its beans to Hell and back -- you get natural sweetness, a hint of bitterness, and then finally the big smile on your own face after you've enjoyed it. My kids love the orange juice (fresh squeezed of course). I've never had their mimosas but I understand they are quite good as well. Finally, the food. I have to admit with some embarrassment that I don't even know what most of the menu tastes like. I blame the Yellow Submarine -- the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. This monstrosity is packed full of everything you'd want: fluffy scrambled eggs, salty ham, savory bacon, crisp lettuce, delectable tomatoes, great mayo, and those addictive Habargadil pickles. I never want to eat anything else. I never do eat anything else. I dream about this sandwich sometimes -- that's how addictive it is. So if you go there, don't be like me -- try out the whole menu. Our wait would have been significant had we not taken advantage of the Yelp waitlist. It was busy for Sunday brunch and the layout of the restaurant does not help. On to the food... I am normally a person that cannot say no to sweet foods no matter what. I kept seeing reviews of Kalamity Katie's Border Benedict. I have never ordered an eggs benedict in my life. (I might be the only person who thinks hollandaise is gross.) This had everything I was missing in my life. Green chile cheddar corn cakes and queso instead of hollandaise!? Just stop right there. I subbed the chorizo for chicken which our lovely waiter Drew recommended. It also came with an everything muffin (which I was intrigued by) but Drew recommended the blueberry. How could I say no to something sweet! I dove into the muffin which had large sugar crystals on top. Yum! It also had a slight lemon flavor which was fantastic. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast! We headed to this spot after I attended a private event at the downtown location. When you go, expect a wait of some sort unless you hit it super early or after lunch. We waited probably 20-30 minutes, but it's definitely worth it. My husband got the stuffed French toast and said he may never have French toast any other way again! (I find he's often very quotable for my reviews!) He got an Undertow - a coffee drink that is shot-glass sized with espresso, vanilla, and cream. He loved it, and the waiter brought over a carafe of coffee for the table afterward because well, you can't live on just a small shot of espresso alone! My breakfast burrito was filling! I wish I had more than a butter knife to cut it with, but it was still amazing. Normally, those don't appeal to me, but if you fill it with chorizo and eggs, I can't say no! I've also had their cinnamon rolls (in a cast iron skillet) & the raspberry lemon (pan)cakes. All of them are to die for. The décor is light with pastel colors on the wall and fun art of various eggs. They even have egg-shaped salt & pepper shakers! The wait staff carries pepper mills so you can get fresh ground pepper any time. Pitchers of water are the norm which is great and quite a time saver! I had to get the screwdriver made with their ah-mazing orange juice! Yes, the OJ by itself is $3.49, but it's fresh squeezed. It's literally drinking an orange! (Well, more than one.) The owner called it the nectar of the gods, and I assure you, he's not wrong! There's a cool half circle bar in the center of the dining area in front of a TV. I consider myself a wild guy so I felt like this restaurant was a perfect match for my lifestyle. Wild guys brunch on Saturday mornings, right? I actually had a deliberation because many of the menu options sounded fantastic. Do I go with the Lox and Bagel Bennie (my Jewish grandmother would be proud!) or the Buffalo Chicken Omelet (my BC dip is notorious) or Katie's Kalamity Border Benedict (my Latino husband would be honored)? Katie's Benedict has a green chili cheddar corn cakes,topped with chorizo, two poached eggs and queso fundido, pico de gallo, sour cream, green onions and avocado. I ordered my skillet potatoes extra crispy which was a great decision. My friend ordered the Buffalo Chicken Omelet and he said while very tasty, it was heavy on the egg and light on the chicken. It looked fantastic from afar. When does Buffalo Chicken not look fantastic, truthfully? I have a feeling this will close a few other brunch spots in Carmel. Wild Eggs gives you the quality and creativity of a upscale brunch place, without sacrificing the breakfast foods that we go to eat. This assertion is further supported by the quality found in the big three: Coffee, Pancakes, and Protein. For once the coffee didn't taste like acidic crud, and could even be considered to be coffee shop quality. The pancakes were huge, flavorful, and the perfect fluffiness. The proteins were all well cooked the portions sizes were perfect as well. The Decor and Service: The restaurant has a very open and bright feel. Its very reminiscent of a lot of the more modern breakfast places; less grandma's parlor and more clean urban loft. The service was spectacular and our waiter did a great job explaining all of the house specialities and keeping the coffee flowing. Overall... The decor is bright, cheery, and clean. It smells fantastic the minute the door opens. Today's specialty coffee was a unique chocolate lemon. The whole restaurant smelled of lemons. It was lovely. I ordered Zaks eggs over easy with ham, everything muffin, and skillet potatoes. I ordered regular coffee which arrived quickly and was served hot. The small pitcher of water was a nice touch. Food arrived and was offered fresh cracked pepper. Again, small touch but well done. The eggs were served hot and the yolks were perfect. The show stopper however was the everything muffin. I've never tasted anything like it. The flavors were unique and texture was soft and airy with a light crust. I highly recommend for breakfast and can't wait to try lunch. I've heard tell that there can be quite a wait at Wild Eggs, but for our Monday lunch, we were seated immediately. The atmosphere is casual, trendy and open. Our waiter was outgoing, helpful in recommending favorites and attentive throughout the whole meal. Big ups for Jake! There's plenty on the 6-page menu including breakfast basics, sandwiches, soups, and salads. The plates we saw coming to nearby tables were all generously portioned and artfully arranged. My friend had the Greek frittata which she found delicious but a little heavy on the pesto, which was easy to move to the side. I, on the other hand, invested my lunchtime in the best egg salad sandwich I've ever had. Not. Kidding. The creamy, dreamy mixture was made special by spice-infused pickles... but not too spicy... just the right level of "mmmm that's tasty". What was even better, was the fact that there was enough egg salad piled onto my two-bread-open-faced sandwich to use my homemade potato chips as a scoop too. Seriously, I could have just feasted on the chips and egg salad dip forever... but the sandwich was also well appointed with fresh tomato, lettuce and pickle chips. Fun indication of men's restroom, a pic of a Rooster, and a pic of a Hen for the ladies' restroom. For a weekday at 10am we were seated right away. Served initially with cups of water, we loved that a small clear pitcher of water with lemons are left at the table... helps with our determination to drink more water per day without waiting for refills. After glancing over to another table where a family of two kids were really enjoying a deliciously looking pitcher of freshly squeezed orange juice, my bff decided to order a freshly squeezed lemonade. She absolutely loved it amd couldn't stop talking how delicious it was. She slowly sipped it wanting to make sure she had some to drink when her breakfast comes out. Lol... until she found out there were free refills! I've never seen someone's face beam of such delight over a lemonade! I had a the Chili Verde Huevos Rancheros ( Two eggs any style with green chili, black beans, skillet potatoes, sour cream, pico de gallo, green onion and a warm flour tortilla) and she had a "just right cooked order of bacon" (4 strips) and the Classic French toast which came out with a small our container of warm syrup! However the service always seems to lack, when we get our meals and never see our server again, which is a shame - especially when needing assistance when something missing from your order / meal. Everything has an egg-theme for sure, may it be paintings, wall design or your salt and pepper bottle on table. Everything inside has 'wild egg' theme and is bright and clean. I went ahead and got myself a 'surfer girl' omelet which has 'fresh spinach, wild mushrooms, tomato, cream cheese and onion, topped with diced fresh avocado, pico de gallo, sour cream and fresh alfalfa sprouts' with a blueberry muffin on side:) It was very filling and tasty. My boyfriend ordered 'Mexico City Maria's Chilaquiles' which is 'mexican-style breakfast casserole with corn tortillas, refried beans, salsa verde, queso blanco and a sunny side up egg. Served with skillet potatoes and a shot of jugo de limon y chile'. And can I just say, this is DEFINITELY THE BEST breakfast I tasted EVER in my life. My surfer girl omelet was nothing compared to the chilaquiles. I had my first bite of it from my bf's plate and I was in HEAVEN. I loved loved loved this dish. So many amazing flavors. DELICIOUS. This is the 2nd Wild Eggs I have been to (there's only 2 in Indianapolis right now) and I am pleased to say that the experience was consistent with my initial trip. As the name indicates, this is a breakfast/lunch joint and all versions of egg dishes are represented on the menu. On this occasion, however, I opted for the Nashville hot chicken & waffles. I am a huge fan of Nashville hot chicken, and Wild Eggs did not disappoint me there. What was particularly interesting was that there was actual chicken in the waffle, too. There was nothing I did not like about this dish. Coffee was fresh brewed and delicious (a must for any place that wants to be considered a breakfast spot in my opinion).
