We had our cruise port change at the last minute, and we didn't want to deal with the tunnel nightmare, so we decided to grab a bite to eat while everyone cleared out. This cafe did not disappoint! I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, and wowzers! It was so big and delicious that I couldn't even finish the whole thing. I also got a coffee, which was delicious and clearly brewed with love. The staff was super friendly, and they even helped my hubby by making his sandwich with egg whites only because the yolk makes him sick. The prices were fair, especially considering you're at a cruise port. They have a really cute little dining area, and there are bathrooms available as well. We had a horrible experience with this cafe before our boat tour in Whittier. At the to-go area, I ordered an $8 iced mocha that came out still hot with a few ice cubes on top of the plastic container. Then, us and a family in front of us also needing to board, waited for 30 more minutes for our burgers and fries. The guy who took our orders didn't know when they would be ready. We told him we have to leave to board, and he told us to wait and we might have time and that if we don't make it he will drive us over in his car. We continued to wait, and finally got our completely cold fries and our burger still wasn't ready, so he told us when we get off the boat tour we can come back and get it. We told him we cannot do that asked for a refund. Completely unorganized and disappointing is an understatement. read more

I think you have to have reasonable expectations for this restaurant given the isolated town. I am glad they are there. The staff were very friendly. My son and I both ordered fish and chips. I would say they are mid and don't warrant the $40 price. I do get that this is Alaska, it is an isolated tourist town and all. But the chips seemed like they went straight from the freezer into the fryer without any seasoning when they came out. Came here to eat after the glacier cruise. Yelp indicated they were open (at 6pm on a Tuesday). We walk to the resturant and are told it's closed. We asked a gentlemen where to eat and were told "red roof." Thats not helpful, multiple red roofs in the area. Fail. read more

The service was quick and about 10 minutes later of fish and chip baskets arrived. The fish was flakey, buttery, and fresh. Cooked to perfection and not fishy at all. My favorite is the avocado burger, add bacon, but they also have salmon, halibut, chicken, and bison. :) their breakfast burrito is also great for a big breakfast or brunch--loaded with eggs, cheese, potatoes, and 3 kinds of meat. Prices reflect the local area prices and portions. It's a great spot to duck in for some shade or reprieve from the rain, and service is simple and quick. read more

Such a great unassuming spot. BEST FISH AND CHIPS I've ever had!! The batter was perfect with the firm halibut. Not too greasy and really just hit on all fronts. My daughter that doesn't like fish loved the BLT. The service was actually impressive. Stopped here for lunch while in Whittier. Upon entering we noticed the dining room is pretty small but there are 2 seating sections that run almost the whole length of the room. We ordered a couple burgers, turkey melt sandwich, and chowder. The young man taking our order was very friendly and answered all of the questions we had. The other staff we interacted with was also very friendly. Food was good and had nice flavor. Plenty of options on the menu and prices were decent for a small town.
