The perfect stop for a quick, cozy meal. Small, coastal cafe with friendly staff and an amazing view.

One of the best fish and chips we've had! Service was a little slow and disorganized but everyone was courteous. Crunchy in the outside and tender on the inside, our lunch was amazing. You also get a view of the snow covered mountains as you sit outside and enjoy your meal!

Bit overpriced, but the food is good. Especially the cheesecake. If you are on the glacier discovery train, call them at portage and they will have your food ready by the time you get to Whittier.

We stopped by for an early dinner and voice o boy it was really and absolutely delicious. The fella at the window and the server was spot on in their serves, and we enjoyed their company. The outside seating w/ the beautiful sunlight was amazing.... I recommend this eatery for sure

Food was good! Very casual but good! A bit of a maze but once you figure out how it works - food came out prompt!

This hotel was by far the worst place that we had stayed on our trip to alaska out of all seven locations. You check in at the restaurant.Although we had to go into the bar to find somebody to check us in and get us a key to the room. The guy was really nice. That checked us in and the price was right. Unfortunately, that was where the good things ended did. The place is clearly very dated, which is totally fine. There are random holes all along the wall, where it looks like other things used to be. Our friends were staying in the room next to us and their carpet was absolutely disgusting. Thankfully, we had some sort of vinyl on our floors. So that it wasn't that bad. Her bedding had multiple tears in it. Nothing in the room matched from the towels to the sheets. When we pulled back the sheets of the bed, there were little specks of what looked like dirt all along the bed, and it appeared that the sheets had not been cleaned. Thankfully, we had each brought a blanket. So we were able to use that to sleep with. It really, truly did feel dirty though sleeping in that bed. We only had two towels in our room for 4 people, so my husband went and asked for another. The only thing that they could give him was an extra hand towel. When I turned on the shower, the way that the shower head was facing the water, just completely shot right out of the shower stall leaving water all over the floor and no good towels to clean it up.

Then some new owners took over, and i was served limp and floppy fries and we didn't go back. Although of course I appreciate they may have had teething problems, as new owners, and that we'd go back at a later date. And we did return today. Our server was friendly, and helpful, brought us coffee, in sturdy Sunrise Inn mugs, and took our order (Crispy Chicken wrap and fries for me, Chili in Bread bowl for him) The atmosphere was warm and friendly, with quite a few diners in, chatting to the server. Guys, the Crispy Chicken Wrap brought to me, was simply outstanding. Perfect in every way. Great mix of crunchy vegetables, cheese, and creamy ranch, i cannot praise it enough. It's the best I've personally tasted, in, well, ever really. And the fries have redeemed themselves 1000%. Super crisp, and soft inside, beautifully seasoned. I am so happy that Sunrise Inn is THIS good. I'll be driving back down just to have this again, and think nothing of the drive. Blake really enjoyed his Chili Bread Bowl too. Seriously, if i can get food this good i don't really care about the cost, or the length of the drive to get to it. But yes of course it would be more convenient if it were in Anchorage, but the drive is half the fun. Also the staff - the server was great, very friendly, and the chef brought out our meals to us, and he had these pants on featuring fish. Very alluring, and I told him so. We'll be back sooner rather than later

Some stuff for sale too like jewelry. I came on a Friday afternoon at 1pm and there was nobody inside. They have four or five tables plus two couches. Would be good for groups or a date. I almost passed out when I had to pay 5.75 for a 12oz mocha. Their rent must be extremely high here. None of their menus on the counter or the wall had any prices, well they did but they blacked them out. None of the specials had prices, the food too. So they can change them how they see fit. I just don't really like that business practice, I think it's kind of shady. They are way too high as well. Nobody should be paying that for espresso. Mocha did taste decent though, and not too hot which I appreciate I didn't burn my mouth. The worker was very quiet and when I left she sat on the couch with her phone. Happy to support small businesses but I won't go out of my way to come here or ever pay that much for a mocha. Those are *bucks prices.

There were 3 of us in the party who elected to get the processing to go, instead of shipped, since we live local(ish). One of the guys in our group was staying at Alyeska, and told the proprietor he intended to freeze the fish in his hotel room. She discouraged him from doing that, due to the small freezer size available and offered to, at no extra charge, freeze it for him and drop it off with the hotel concierge on Wednesday on her way into town.
