MY FAVORITE SUSHI SPOT…read more I wish I could gatekeep but it's just too good! Amazing sushi, fresh fish with so many great options on the AYCE menu. The ratio of rice to fish for their nigiri is on point. You can actually enjoy the fish without getting full off rice. Their omakase box is delicious. Can get busy but the ambiance is still chill and it's easy to enjoy a nice dinner. I come at least once a week because it's so good

For the AYCE sushi restaurant, it was good but not exactly mind-blowing. The fish and seafood variety didn't taste like the freshest quality, and after a while, a lot of the rolls started tasting the same. For around $45 AYCE, I personally think there are better options out there. Some of the skewers came out burnt. Takoyaki was 1/5, you can skip on taht. But that being said, the service was really good. The lady serving us was super friendly and attentive, and overall the staff was kind and welcoming. However, there was only one other table besides ours at the time, so I'm not sure how service would be during peak hours. Now the cafe side, I loved it. The vibe made me feel like I wasn't even in Hayward. The sandos were really good, and the matcha looked amazing. I'd definitely come back for the cafe experience alone. My biggest concern though is the elevator situation. It wasn't working during our visit, and I heard it hasn't been working for quite a while. It honestly made me wonder how elderly or mobility-impaired guests are supposed to dine there. That definitely seems like something that needs attention.

4.5 star: The fact that we hadn't tried this place so close to home really frustrates me! My…read morehusband loves teriyaki chicken and rice (basically anything with chicken and rice), and I love katsu chicken. We had a long day on Sunday, and I was not in the mood to cook dinner. I told my husband we could check out the menu, and if it didn't look appetizing, we could just walk out--no harm, no foul. The first good sign was the restaurant--though small--was packed with people either waiting to order or picking up their online orders. We looked at the menu and immediately knew what we wanted. I was going to go with the katsu plate, which was only $12.45 and came with rice, salad, and a California roll. But knowing my husband, I figured he'd want more teriyaki chicken, and I wanted his California roll. So, we both ended up going with the Chicken Combo, which includes everything: katsu, teriyaki, rice, salad, and a California roll. We made the best decision! The teriyaki chicken had the perfect grill on it--you could taste the char, but it didn't overpower the flavor of the teriyaki sauce. The katsu chicken had the best crunch and was still juicy. The California roll was great, and I especially appreciated that the crab wasn't mixed with mayo. It was perfect. I was honestly shook when I saw my plate--only $14.45 for so much food! Totally worth every penny. From portion size to taste: 10/10. The only reason this review is not a 5/5 is because my husband asked for extra teriyaki sauce and we didn't get it. Like I said he loves teriyaki sauce and that really messed with his full experience (not mine). The cashier was super friendly, even though it was clear he was very busy. Soooo happy we finally tried this place. It's definitely our new go-to spot!
