I really love to support local business and this is my go-to place for raw dog food (Shout out to…read moreDoggone Raw for the excellent food!). The store is close to home and has an easy location to get in and out. Their pet selection is pretty good and they've got a nice spread of gardening supplies as well. There's even a friendly dog who roams the place on occasion, looking for a pat on the head and a "good boy." He's my favorite employee. Not that there's anything wrong with the rest of them most of the time. Most of the time, things are "okay." Not great, not awful; okay. The line moves fast enough. They have what I need. The person who checks me out at the cash register asks the standard questions. The problem is, I have something to compare this to. Before buying our pet food from Clyde's, I used to get it from a place in Tonawanda where the people were over the top friendly and inquisitive. I get it; Clyde's can be super busy with a lot of people coming through. They don't focus on dog food and have a variety of customers with differing needs. I don't expect them to remember my name like Treats Unleashed always did. Also at the previous place, they kept my credit card on file, which made it so much easier when trying to handle three ten-pound buckets of frozen raw dog food. Not having to pull my credit card out made it a ton easier. (I also get that it's probably a lot safer for me for them to NOT store my credit card on file.) They offered to carry it out for me because while I am pretty strong, it's super awkward to carry three of these thin-handled buckets to my car when I've got arms the length of a baby T-Rex. For some dog food brands, customers get a discount. I don't know what those brands are or what the parameters are (tenth bag free? fifth bag free? $5 off two bags? No idea!). I do not get a discount for the food I buy and when I inquired about it, I was stared at like I had a third eye and told, "We don't do that." Treats Unleashed offered a discount for this brand and I don't know if it was a store policy or a brand policy, but I thought it was a fair question. Our first visit to Clyde's when we moved to Hamburg was super-positive. Everyone was really friendly and knowledgeable. We got a lot of help from one of the employees when picking out a probiotic for our dog. I do see that same worker there from time to time, but she is usually not on the cash register when I am there. I have seen a few newer workers (or people I hadn't ever run into before) on my last few visits, so maybe that has something to do with the less-friendly experiences. I overheard one worker tell a customer, "Please don't leave your things on the counter and walk away. We have grocery carts if you need them." Okay, that was helpful information, but there are nicer ways to say that and the tone was not friendly. Like I said, though, they have what we need and there's never been a reason to NOT go, but I definitely see room for a little improvement.

I advise anyone to reconsider this location as she was just awful to deal with. I will be contacting managment. BEWARE OF THE NASTY OVER WORKED MISERABLE WORKER! My wife and I can't say enough good things about the staff at this PetSmart. When we moved to…read moreOrchard Park we needed to find a place close by for our senior standard schnauzer to spend his days in camp. Klaus would practically bound across the parking lot to get into to see all of his friends amongst the staff and fellow boarders. Over the course of two years he spent the majority of weekdays at PetSmart. We monitor our dog's behavior closely and based on our observations know that Klaus was welcomed and well cared for by the staff. We recently moved to North Carolina and were floored that the staff were so thoughtful to send Klaus some going away presents -- presents that indicated they knew Klaus like we know Klaus: breath chews to make his sardine habit less offensive, hip and joint chews for the old boy, a blanket for his naps, and balls for the puppy inside. We can't recommend this location any more than five stars, and so all I can say is that it's an honest and well earned five stars.

I first discovered EarthWise Pet back when I lived in Hamburg. Since then, I've moved about 40…read moreminutes away... and yet, somehow, Earthwise is still my go-to. I now plan my errands like a chess match just so I can swing by when I'm on that side of Buffalo--because yes, it is absolutely worth it. This is a locally owned pet boutique where you don't feel like a transaction--you feel like a regular, even if weeks go by between visits. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely attentive. There is one wonderful woman who helps me every single time I'm there (and Lord forgive me, I can never remember her name), but she consistently goes above and beyond--right down to carrying my haul out to the car for me. And trust me... it's a haul. I rarely leave with fewer than six containers of Dogs Eat Rite raw food, plus goat's milk, and usually a little Green Juju for good measure. Without her help, I'd be making multiple trips--and probably impressing my Health app with all the extra steps I am getting. They've special-ordered items for me before, listened carefully to what I'm looking for, and helped me choose what actually fits my dog's needs (which, let's be honest, are also my needs). The quality of products in this store is outstanding. And the treats--excuse me, cookies (as they are called in my house)--are next level. Chicken feet, duck hearts, and every imaginable dried organ, all enthusiastically approved and promptly inhaled by my very opinionated eater who is DEFINITELY a Good Girl. Earthwise Pet is one of those rare places that makes you feel taken care of--both you and your pet. Even from 40 minutes away, I wouldn't shop anywhere else.

Beautiful store, knowledgeable employees, and a great selection of natural products. I would…read morerecommend Earthwise to anyone looking for a place that treats your pets as their own!
