Oh-my-dog. It's a real shame that it took me forever to check this place out, because I've obviously been missing a piece of my dog-lovers' heart. I'm pretty sure that I found it here! Found inside of the super-gorgeous Market Arcade, Buffalo Barkery is a pretty sweet pet boutique that offers a variety of treats and toys for dogs, cats, and owners alike! The shelves are stocked with all sorts of goodies to spoil your pet with, as well as some human-friendly gifts that are perfect for pet lovers. I loved all the accessories they had here, like bandanas, bow-ties, and collar/leash sets. They even had cute Halloween items since the holiday is coming up. I was so tempted to bring home things my dog really didn't need. Buffalo Barkery is basically a bakery as well - they make and sell their own dog treats, with flavors inspired by local faves like Beef on Weck and Chicken Wing, as well as Pumpkin and Buffalo Chip. They also do custom orders, and I hear they make a mean doggy birthday cake! I love the business model they stand behind - the owners started making their own dog treats, tired of unnecessary preservatives and by-products often found in name brand treats. "To us, dogs aren't just pets, they are family." Absolutely! I ended up bringing Rosie home a couple of cute cookies, as well as some Vegan Ear Wash. I am very eager to return to this lovely shop, and I think I'll have to bring my pup with me next time. read more

The Barkery is located in the Market Arcade building and within the last few months moved from a space on the inside hall to a space facing Main St. We have been in almost every day since! This is truly the type of small business that one loves to see and be a customer of. The owners have managed to line every inch of their space with some way to spoil your pet or show off your love for them! Geared towards dogs and cats, you will find innumerable options for treats, toys, and accessories. All of the food items are very high quality, and many of the treats are home baked with human grade ingredients (and Buffalo themed!). They also make birthday cakes for pups (our Ellie could not get enough of hers when she turned one!). Those who love to have patterned collars, bandanas, or small clothing items (ex: a Bill's uniform for Sundays) for their pets will find a great selection. In terms of toys, there are many options for rough chewers or those who like to hide a treat inside the toy. On top of all of this for your pet, there is lots of great pet themed merchandise to spoil yourself or the pet lover in your life - t-shirts, jewelry, mugs, frames, etc. If this isn't enough to bring you in, the delightful owners certainly should be. They are sisters in law who own and operate the business together, baking the homemade treats and manning the store. They could not be better business owners or bigger pet lovers! We live a few blocks away and have visited almost every day with our dog Ellie since they moved to the Main St facing space. Now Ellie will not let us walk by without going in to visit her friends! They shower her with love and treats every time we visit. They are so friendly and always take a few minutes to chat with us. It is also lovely that they are so involved with the nearby City of Buffalo Animal Shelter - they spend time volunteering, sponsor adoptable pets, and sell super cute shirts and collar flowers in the shop that all the proceeds from go to the shelter. Honestly, we cannot rave enough about this shop. The wonderful goods and customer service are more than worth the visit! read more

the pups LOVED the birthday cake and homemade treats. due to covid I had to order over the phone, the lady I spoke with was very nice and it was an easy process. in the past I have been in the shop it offers a lot of cute toys, collars and pet/buffalo decor for the home. we will be back! read more

I was first introduced to the Buffalo Barkery after my pug, Chase Pringles, won their Shark Girl Instagram contest. #proudpugmom #followmydog When we went into the store to collect his prize, we were overwhelmed by all the adorable items this place has to offer! Not only do they serve up healthy, homemade Buffalo style treats (ie- beef on weck and buffalo wing flavored biscuits), they also have everything from toys and leashes to outfits and poop bags. Even better, the owner of the store only carries products that are made in the USA. Since we were first introduced to this place, we have walked away with several bags of dog treats (Chase especially likes the pumpkin flavor), bow ties, a doggie tutu, a birthday bandana, and more. Most recently, I even special ordered a doggie birthday cake (I swear I'm not crazy) to help celebrate his 6th birthday. When I gave him a piece of it, he jammed the entire thing in his mouth and ran into the other room to savor it by himself because it was so good. This store is a bit pricey if you compare it to petsmart, but you shouldn't, because it's unique and awesome. They have a lot of cutesy accessories for small dogs that wouldn't work out well on my Rottweiler, but he loves their awesome selection of treats! They have the cutest homemade dog treats in Buffalo-centric shapes that are affordable and make great gifts, especially for expats! The staff is great as well. They also have very cool poop bags ... awkward to include, but they come with a large variety of patterns on them. read more

This is a small but unique store that I love stopping into on my lunch break. They have boutique items for dogs and cats that you won't see in any of the chain pet stores. They also feature locally made items, like Shark Girl-shaped dog treats (how cool is that?) and Bills dog apparel. It's a great place for a gift or for something special for your pet. I also think it's sweet that the staff remembered me and my dog (even though they had only seen a photo) after just one visit. Definitely worth a visit! read more
