I had been at the Hotel Northampton before and loved it. I thought it would be the perfect place…read moreto celebrate 35 years of marriage with my wife. It turned out I was mistaken. We expected to be in the main building and were disappointed to be placed in the Gothic Garden out building. The first room we were in had a broken air conditioner and the temperature of the room was 78. After speaking to the staff a man in a suit with a walkie talkie came over. He tried but failed to open a window and poked at something on the air conditioner unit. Nothing changed and about 3 hours later, I went to the main building to report it. Amazingly, they had a room upstairs. The air conditioner worked in this room, however it was fighting with the 78 degree temperature and went on for 20 minutes then off for 20 minutes repeating this cycle all night. It would have been ok if it didn't sound like a jet engine at the foot of the bed. And the mattress was so pillowy that you couldn't move once on it. Neither my wife nor I slept and not for a good reason. When I checked out, I mentioned the discomfort and noise and the staff only wanted to know if I wanted my receipt on paper or by email. Highly disappointing and expensive mistake.

The Tuscan Salad was missing several ingredients mentioned in the menu, included rotten pieces of lettuce, and was overladen with roasted garlic cloves. (After the first 5 or so I opted out of the remaining 10.) The balsamic dressing was way too sweet. I only got it because they were out of the one i wanted - they were out of a lot of dishes. My dining companion noted that his food wasn't very warm, the carrots were inedible, and did I mention it took a long time for our food to come even though there were hardly any other diners ? Finally, we had a lemon cream cake for dessert that was almost painfully sweet.

Pro - location. Northampton is a great little town…read more Also, the front desk staff is extremely friendly and is doing their best to go above and beyond. But, I had to knock off a star because the Wifi in the rooms doesn't work. This is a massive disappointment for what is supposed to be a modern hotel. As is the case with technical things, I assumed it was a me problem. The friendly front desk staff explained that the public WiFi works fine but the guest Wifi is problematic. This means that after driving for 2 hours and arriving hangry and with hours worth of work to do, I have to sit in the lobby to get anything done. It is challenging to focus because there are other groups here talking. I am loyal to the Marriott brand and have the gold lifetime elite to prove it, but I don't think I will stay in this hotel again. After a day of work, I want to be able to settle in my room, order some food, take my bra off, and do the work I need to do to get ready for the next day. So I must say, this is a huge disappointment.

Very clean and well organized, disability friendly hotel. Decent parking and friendly people…read more Breakfast was ok with very good coffee and a number of options hot and cold. They have wine and beer for sale. Neither selection is great but duckhorn reds are a strong option. No IPAs for beer and that's disappointing. Wifi was also disappointing and the TV was very strange, rebooting several times before we could watch anything. Hot water seemed limited when we were there but perhaps they were booked up and we were all using it at once? We enjoyed our stay and will return.

TV & wifi very good and we both fell asleep fast and slept well! (that never happens). Coffee fine and breakfast had better than average options. Hotel eggs but salsa and tiny bottles of hotsauce were available! For oatmeal there was an excellent topping station with walnuts And almonds, plus strawberry compote and mango sauce, yum! King studio Room 303 was spacious and clean, smelled clean. Only drawback was no fan in bathroom, right next to bedroom. My favorite touch was the mini basketball court! Note: they take a small security deposit at checkin - not $1000 like it said on Booking dot com.

The coffee was just ok but I was happy to have it. The room was spacious and clean with a full kitchen that had everything you could need. The bed was comfortable and quiet except for one night around 2am when loud music started blaring from room 214 below me. Front desk didn't seem to be able to do much about it. When it snowed the parking lot was cleared off well and seemed to be centrally located to a lot of things. There is a sketchy Walmart across the street if you really need some things but I was warned to stay away from it.

This is a nice hotel for the price and perfect for a staycation in the Springfield, MA area…read more We got a queen suite that had a stove, full sized fridge, dishwasher and sofa bed in addition to normal hotel room stuff. The free breakfast is meh quality but hey, it's nice to have someone else cook for you regardless. There's a pool too that my kiddo enjoyed. The hotel is 2 minutes from Holyoke mall that includes a Target. We got a frozen skillet meal from Target to make for dinner our first night there. I would stay here again and recommend it to others. Edited to add: As of August 2022 the staff was not masking, nor were masks required in any area of the hotel. The guests were mixed on masking. Many with N95 masks and taking breakfast to go to eat in their rooms mixed with guests not masking or distancing.

I had a serious unresolved booking problem there for my intended stay August 9-12, 2024. At check-in I was told, in sequence, "4 rooms left," then "2 rooms left," and finally "no rooms left" for any part of my intended stay. The sequence of having been told 4, then 2, then no rooms left was especially frustrating and seemed to me retaliatory for my mild expression of dismay, consternation, and frustration. My daughters and I arrived late from Logan Airport due to Debby weather, delayed rental car, and rain on the turnpike. We were attending my parents' funeral on the 10th. I understand that all people aren't going to be best friends; however, this night manager showed zero empathy. And worse, with the cockamamie room "countdown," I felt the manager exhibited personal animus. We stayed at an alternative--a nearby Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott--which we booked ourselves. Even so, on August 12, I received from Homewood Suites by Hilton an invoice and a paid receipt for all nights of the stay, August 9, 10, and 11. The only time spent at Homewood Suites by Hilton was in the lobby at 4 a.m. with the vindictive night manager counting down "4 rooms left," then "2 rooms left," and finally "no rooms left."

Inn on Boltwood - The lobby smells good. In the morning they put out cider donuts and coffee and tea.

We sat in the parlor room and the chairs were all torn up- terrible! We wanted coffee and went to the front desk where the clerk was playing solitaire. When we asked if there was coffee or hot cocoa we were told to go to the bar and order it and it would be delivered to us- we were surprised that she didn't stand up and offer to take care of it for us. Customer service training should be a focus. There are a lot of places to stay and we should feel that we made the right choice in staying here and spending money here but we don't. Hopefully employee training as well as some repairs will be done so that customers can benefit.

There's no place as close to the college as the Inn on Bolton. It's literally on campus and probably part of his problem, is run by the college. It's really expensive. Yet, the rooms are small and awkward. Plus it's a bit of a labyrinth and I feel too little twin girls are gonna pop out at any moment and scream redrum at me. When we checked in at 2 AM, exhausted from our cross-country trip, and a one hour drive, the receptionist sent us to the wrong wing, and when I went downstairs, he sent me back up, saying I just didn't see it. I had to go down and have him come upstairs to help us find our room only to discover it wasn't where he sent us at all. Next, there was no bottled water in the entire building, not to buy or what is customarily complementary in a hotel of this price range The very polite guy went onto explain that it was because they hadn't received their shipment of water. I'm confused because I sure did pass Walmart, Target a grocery store and a Trader Joe's just minutes from here. But alas no one thought to go get water. Their parking lot is a four minute walk from the hotel. You may hit the jackpot and get one of the 45 spots right in front of the hotel. We didn't. Boo!! Also, they are saving money by not cleaning the rooms daily. I think that's BS but it would've at least been nice for them to tell us a check in. I found a gray hair on the comforter which was not ours. Gross!!! They do have a fancy, highfaluting Molecule air filter that I did not steal. I don't love this place and I wouldn't recommend it for any other reason then if you were spending multiple days on campus. If I come again, I will request daily service and also request to be in the west wing.
