This is my second time staying at this hotel. I stayed here two years ago, October 24. It's a great hotel if you have to spend more than a day and you are with a group of people. so there were three of us in the room and we were there for an event that was weekend long and it's great because you'll have a a refrigerator to store your food and your kitchen so that you can prepare things you need not only in the room but for events we were attending so that was great. The service is great. They have a really good breakfast in the morning downstairs French toast and eggs, fruit, yogurt and do much more you can make your own waffle. There is coffee and tea all day long and again the service at the front desk is great they help with information and directions. It was superb. We really enjoyed our stay. We will be back in October. The only downside is that the room smelled stale and the television in the living room didn't work. read more

Very nice! No road noise despite being right off I-90. Staff at desk were professional, knew their stuff, and were nice. Large lobby with fireplace & TV, "office" and breakfast areas. TV & wifi very good and we both fell asleep fast and slept well! (that never happens). Coffee fine and breakfast had better than average options. Hotel eggs but salsa and tiny bottles of hotsauce were available! For oatmeal there was an excellent topping station with walnuts And almonds, plus strawberry compote and mango sauce, yum! King studio Room 303 was spacious and clean, smelled clean. Only drawback was no fan in bathroom, right next to bedroom. My favorite touch was the mini basketball court! Very nice hotel that was clean and offered free breakfast. The hot breakfast was good and they offered something different each morning. The coffee was just ok but I was happy to have it. The room was spacious and clean with a full kitchen that had everything you could need. The bed was comfortable and quiet except for one night around 2am when loud music started blaring from room 214 below me. Front desk didn't seem to be able to do much about it. When it snowed the parking lot was cleared off well and seemed to be centrally located to a lot of things. There is a sketchy Walmart across the street if you really need some things but I was warned to stay away from it. read more

A nice feature, when walking into the room for the first time, the TV has my name on the screen? Welcome Bill S, you can check out anytime you'd like but you can never leave! Nah, I'm just funnin'. With any Residence Inn, this is a long term stay hotel. If someone is working on a bridge and the crew is in the area for 6 months, the company will put them up at a Residence Inn. Me? I'm in town a few days and I am not cooking in the room. However! The front desk said if you put the menu on your door before 10pm, they'll be a breakfast sack hung on the door at the time you request. Wow! I chose a side of bacon, a hard boiled egg, a bagel with cream cheese. Guess what they forgot on the first day? The bagel.. It's all good, I still welcomed the gesture. Besides having a full kitchen at my disposal, I did enjoy my large comfy bed and the shower. The noise level was great, I slept very well during my stay and I did enjoy the small breakfast perk each morning. Clean hotel, the front desk always wished me a nice day when I walked out the door. Slim pickings in this area, so this will probs be the best option and it's clean, spacious and nice. Bonus if you're a Marriott member. First off, an indoor pool which I'm not a fan, but I understand in the middle of MA this is probs a good thing. A little basketball court which was unexpected and awesome, along with a nice little courtyard with a fire pit. The free breakfast buffet was dece. I'm bougie and wasn't a fan, but most will be completely fine with it. We were in a 2 bedroom suite and it was spacious, the crib they offer was a nice and clean pack and play, and overall everything was fine. Hotel is right off the highway, surrounded by chains like 5 Guys & Chipotle. Overall, a nice stay while in the area. read more

Beautiful hotel in Chicopee. We had a free room and decided to spend the night after the Uconn/umass football game even though we live only about an hour away. They even upgraded us from a one bedroom to a two bedroom suite which was a nice touch and one of the reasons we love the Marriott brand (we are gold elite). Room was modern, clean, roomy and well appointed with lots of towels, bar soap, lotion, shampoo. The showers have full size shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap. Breakfast was decent with selection of hot/cold items with good amount of seating in the lobby and courtyard. Five Guys, Buffalo Wild Wings and Petsmart share the same driveway and easy to walk to if you don't feel like driving anyplace. read more

Stayed for two nights while attending a wedding in Amherst: the "good" is that there are not too many pet-friendly hotels in the Amherst area, and this is right off the Mass Pike. The two ladies working breakfast on Saturday morning were very nice, and breakfast people need a lot of patience for those guests who act as if they have not seen food in a month. So why the two-star rating? Cleanliness of the bathroom (and a few other things here and there) does it for me, and looking up to see dust stuck on the vent and hair dangling down is not anywhere near paying attention to clean! We're staying for the long weekend and booked a "1 Bedroom suite, King Bed". On the website, the picture shown for the suite that has an oven in the kitchenette and listed under amenities is "oven". They should really change that to say "ovens available in select suites". If I didn't feel so strongly about the importance of accuracy in advertising, I would give them a 4 or 5 star rating, but I feel the way these suites are advertised is misleading and a little dishonest. We questioned the front desk staff immediately upon arrival in the suite, who was very nice and professional but explained to us that not all of the king 1 bedroom suites had full ovens in them (some only have rangetops). So if this is something you prefer, I would explicitly request it, or maybe call ahead and ask if the suite you'll be staying in has one. The front desk staff said that the suites with full ovens are being used for longer term stays (we only stayed 3 nights). Additionally, I would say, unrelated to any fault of the hotel, noise level is really determined by the guests staying in the hotel. Around 9 or 10 p.m. we heard a series of loud thumps and stomps overhead loud enough to be heard over the television, so whoever was in the suite on the next floor up was a bit of a loud guest. We could hear people (mostly kids) being loud in the hallways in the morning and evening (but for the most part nothing disrupted our sleep from inside the bedroom. Their morning menu is not listed on the website, and is standard, not exceptional, not substandard (vegans beware). We mostly plan to prepare our own food in our kitchenette, so this shouldn't be an issue. The front desk attendant informed us that the pool is indeed open now, which was a nice surprise because I'm pretty sure the website says it's still closed. The shower water pressure never fluctuated and was good, but there were a few instances of random temperature variances (I imagine when other people nearby may be turning their water on and off). not really a problem. The appearance of the suite was nice and clean, the kitchen is new looking. The bed was pretty comfortable. I would say that the sign they give you to put on the door was a bit more ambiguous than the signs that used to be used in hotels/motels. "Do not disturb" and "maid service please" (or something similar) is now "Later please, I'm enjoying the space" or "All set, my suite is good for the day". I bring this up because housekeeping service previously interpreted as intrusive has been brought up in other reviews, and I think it's possible that there may be some confusion about when to use which side of the sign and what will happen if you don't put it up at all. In our case, we didn't put a sign up, not expecting anything to happen, and while we were having coffee, heard the door knocked on and then one of the housekeepers began to come in (maybe thinking we were gone). Perhaps there should be more coordination between the front desk and housekeeping about which suites are occupied and which have been vacated. Or perhaps the default shouldn't be housekeeping expecting to have to come in and clean unless there's a sign on the door, but instead, the reverse; (to not come in unless there is a sign on the door requesting them to come in). So in short, I was disappointed about the lack of oven, but pretty much everything else was adequate, reasonable and nice. This is a dog friendly hotel, so I'm hoping to run into a few furry friends around the place. read more

room was clean, building landscaping was good; front desk staff very good over and above what the standards should be for hospitality these days eith all staff but especially Charlene Stephanie jennysis and Regina braakfat was good but breakfast attands seemed to bare their job and coworkers baised on the ~VERY~ loud conversation me and my husband were subjected to while having coffee waiting for the doors to open. shame on them to bring the whole experience downgraded. we had some trouble with the air conditioning in the room but Charlene was able to walk us through it and called to confirms we weee all set, a general worker named victor brought us fresh towels and he was very prompt and polite, overnight staff was amazing and outstanding us that she was overnight staff she was so accommodating snd polite / professional and both her and chatlene and Jennesis offered a i of customer service that's almost forgotten nowadays. I stopped into the residence inn on my way back from New York and had been driving for hours and was exhausted and it was the closest hotel when I looked on my map. I have status at Marriott properties and stay at them all over the world for work. The guy that worked the desk was a complete weirdo! He was completely out of line and rude to me for no apparent reason. I walk in with my bags and explain that I wanted to check into a room for the night. Weird pony tail guy says that the lowest rate was $169, before I booked I checked my Marriott app and I find the same room for less, my company reimburses me for my hotels but out of principal I still check the app. So I book using my AAA membership through the app. I hand The hotel desk guy my phone so he can check me in and he says he is going to need my AAA card which is somewhere I one of my bags. I can't even fathom where the card is so I say I don't have it on me. Thinking he is going to give me the room because 1. The hotel is empty and pretty crappy and 2. I have high status at Marriott's but NO this idiot tells me this is the company policy and he can't give me the AAA membership price bc i don't have my card - even tho i have entered my AAA membership number into the system! No he says it's company policy and he has to charge me the higher price so I say fine whatever I'm exhausted. Then I ask him if he can give me a room away from elevators because I was so tired and didn't want to be woken up. He makes it a huge deal that I booked a studio room and I would have to pay more for a one bedroom. I again say fine just charge me for whatever you need... then he presents me with a breakfast menu and in the middle of explaining how the menu works he decides idk that I'm not a breakfast person and says never mind and throws the menu in the trash next to him... I have no idea what his problem was but he was a bizarre, quite entertaining, but bizarre character... I get to my room which smells like burnt old brownies, i tell myself it's just for one night and tell myself not to touch anything!! Then I go to the bathroom to wash my face and notice the stains all over the bathroom floor and toilet. So I now try and clean the bathroom so I can use it and then feel disgusting with that decision so I have to shower... an hour and a half later I throw my pajamas on and crawl into bed and that's when I notice the white stains all over the carpet seriously?!?! So I throw a towel on the carpet wash my feet wash my hands for the 20th time and finally pass out exhausted! Needless to say I will hopefully NEVER stay her ever again!!! And pony tail guy if you ever read this. You will get more flys with honey. Moral of the story, if it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, Get the duck out of there and find another hotel!! read more

Yes its a chain. And I generally dont give chains more than 3 stars. But sometimes you just have to. This is a new hotel, as in less than a year old. Its a new building. New parking lot. New everything. The rooms are large. Mine had a real fridge in it, which was great as I had a whole cooler of things. Lots of room in the fridge/freezer. Large flat screen tv that swiveled for wherever you were in the lagre space, on the coach, in the kitchen or on the bed. You really could see it from wherever. There was a desk (real one) with a nice ergonomic chair, and a table for two as well. The couch was large and reasonably comfortable, although did not spend much time on it. Bathrooms had nice water pressure with both showers and a full bath if you prefer. There was a fire pit thing which people were using. A salt water pool. Those are the best. Checkin was pleasant and easy. My room was VERY far from the elevator, which was annoying, but other than that, this is a great hotel. Right on rt 33, near a supermarket if you need one, a Walmart is close by, and a mall with a bunch of food and other store options. read more

The hotel is brand-new and looks it! I really like the outdoor patio area with gas fire pit! The pool and hot tub are indoor and kept clean. I surprised to see a little outdoor basketball court also! My husband and I stopped at the Residence Inn in Springfield Chicopee Ma. on July 15 hoping to get a room without a reservation. The lady at the front desk was so friendly and professional and she arranged a room on the first floor near an exit for our service dog. We could not have been happier when we opened the door to the room and found such a clean space with really nice furnishings. The little kitchen area had everything we could possibly need during our stay, and it was clean as a whistle. It was such a comfortable space after a long drive from Bar Harbor Maine. The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch with many items to chose from, and the area was neat and food was refilled as needed. It was nice to talk with the other travelers in the dining area. We usually stayed at Hampton Inns in the past, but we are not converts for Residence Inns when we travel in the future. read more

We booked a block of rooms at the Residence Inn for our wedding in August and it was one of the best decisions of our entire event. The rooms were clean and spacious, and every staff person was amazing - especially Vickie, who managed our block. We held our rehearsal dinner in their conference room, which was perfectly sized for our group. The bridesmaids got ready in one of the double-room suites, which I had booked for my parents and brother knowing I'd want to use it to get ready in. Ha! The breakfast buffet was incredibly delicious, and I appreciated the way that the staff checked in with guests to see if we wanted to grab anything else before they cleared breakfast out. Our families and guests loved hanging outside on the patio from morning to night. All around a great experience! read more

The rooms are clean and staff is friendly, but the atmosphere is odd at best. I've stayed at this hotel numerous times and the trend seems to be that there are homeless people staying here, possibly due to limited housing in the area. People smoking outside the main door and police showing up addressing people in the lobby area... this is not Vegas or New Orleans- so it's not like it's due to over partying. As a family or traveling type hotel its concerning. The people staying here are friendly but I still am not comfortable. Not ideal- may be the last time for me. read more

I was very happy with the room, the service, the pool, access to highway - not much to be upset about. There was even a restaurant we could walk to (but we didn't do that). Best of all they are pet friendly, so our dog was able to join us for the trip. When we showed up we found the on-line reservation got us the wrong room (probably my error). But a trip down to the front desk fixed it and got us our one-bedroom suite without an issue. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Our son had lots of room and was able to watch TV while my wife and I were able to sleep in the bedroom. The pool was clean and warm, and while I would have liked to use the jacuzzi, there was a crowd already there - I didn't feel like squeezing in. Oh well, it wasn't just for me. If it wasn't for the snow on the ground, I could see my son and I having a pick-up game in the basketball half-court. The sheets were clean (everything was), and I like having a little kitchenette to enjoy my coffee in the morning. Outside was pleasant as well. Since we brought our dog I feared "land mines" all over the area but the was happy to see that wasn't the case. There was plenty of places for our dog to "go", and there were even doggie-poop bags nearby if you forgot yours. Nice touch. We were just passing through for the night, but I could see staying here for the night and not having an issue. read more

For a group of 5, we needed a place that could fit us all comfortably on a budget. When they offered a King bed and a pull out couch, I was curious if it would work, but the extra corner on the pull out let us sleep 3 to a bed. We solely wonderfully and the kitchen in the morning to make late coffee was excellent. Big rooms make it a perfect deal for a large group. Would definitely stay again if we have the chance. I first discovered this hotel when we had some work done on our house and wanted to find some place that would give us enough space for our large family with all the conveniences of home. This place is definitely it. It has become a first choice whenever we have needed a hotel in the area. We have been back 3-4 times. Its convenient location means that anything you need is right at your fingertips. There are a ton of restaurants on Memorial Drive (some deliver) and it is right across the street from Walmart. All this and I didn't hear any street noise. The bed is heavenly. Everything is exceptionally clean, including the cribs. They brought me two and put a protector over each of them. They secured the protectors with zip ties for safety. :) The kitchen is fully stocked with a full sized refrigerator, stove, dishes, glassware and utensils. There's a full (complimentary) breakfast buffet with lots of great hot options (sausage, oatmeal, eggs, French toast etc.) The pool is also great. I definitely recommend this as a great place to stay, especially for families. read more

Our room was very nice and clean, all employees friendly and helpful. My issue is with the continental breakfast; they would make enough eggs for about 6 people and then it would be gone. I never got any food that I wanted and had to settle for hard boiled eggs. On my third attempt to get eggs the woman in front of me took 70% of the eggs in to-go trays leaving me with none. I enjoyed the stay but breakfast was atrocious. read more

I travel for work and am in the greater Springfield area monthly for a week at a time or longer. I always stayed in west Springfield and then found that there is a new (3 years old) property in Chicopee! Right off the turnpike. Convenient to shopping and restaurants and all locations in the greater Springfield area. BUT that's just the convenience and modern property. What truly excels are the human aspects of this hotel!! Customer Service you would not believe. Yes, I am a platinum premier Marriott member. However. Vickie the sales manager didn't know that when we first spoke! Carlos didn't know that before he checked me in! Carl the houseman didn't know that when I needed service in the evening and some towels and trash removed. Housekeeping is amazing !! No matter who you encounter in this hotel, no matter who you are whether passing through or a premier platinum member, you are made to feel as if you are the most important guest!! We had a blizzard this week with 20 inches of snow. The hotel made sure no one was stuck, no one was plowed in, they shoveled. Plowed. Cleaned salted. Assisted anyone needing assistance ! My hats off to the management company and all the staff at the Springfield Chicopee residence inn by Marriott! I have been here for 9 days and cannot wait to return to the area. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment in your customer service concerning my last stay with your chain. I am a Marriott rewards Silver Elite Member (193378346) with a Marriott rewards Visa credit card, which I used to pre-pay for my stay at the Residence Inn Springfield Chicopee in Massachusetts (and at which I have stayed a number of times). I used the Marriott website to book and pre-pay for my stay at the hotel (confirmation #92372003) at a total cost of $185.54. My stay at the hotel was uneventful; it was when I received my Marriott Rewards Visa invoice following my stay at the hotel that the fireworks began. I saw that the hotel charged me one penny for my stay. By the way, that was the only charge on my entire Visa bill. I thought that this surely had to be a mistake, as I had prepaid for my stay at the hotel and used no additional services while there. I then called the hotel on September 26 at 8:20pm to have this corrected. I spoke with the front desk manager about the issue and she informed me that there was nothing she could do as I owed taxes of one penny. She was not helpful and the tone she used with me was extremely disrespectful. I tried explained to her that I booked this on the Marriott website and everything was prepaid. She told me that the website was wrong and that there was nothing she could do, and that if I had a problem I should call customer service -- and in the future, NOT to trust the website. I was floored by that response and how I was brushed off by the front desk manager. I had thought this would have been an easy thing to fix and that the hotel manager would have simply apologized for this mistake and removed the one penny charge. Clearly this was not the case. After getting off the phone with the front desk manager, I called Marriott Customer Care (Case #02502118). They appeared to be very understanding with my issue and said that they would contact me with a resolution within 72 hours. As I write this note, four days have passed and there has been no response from customer care. I used the Marriott website and Marriott Rewards Visa because I thought this would provide the lowest price for my stay, as well as provide the smoothest service. Instead I spent 1 1/2 hours of my evening on the phone trying to resolve an issue which should not have occurred in the first place. Mistakes happen, but how a company handles them is what sets them apart from the rest of the pack. I could understand an additional charge if I had used some third party website, as they do not always include all the taxes. However, as I chose Marriott -- booking and pre-paying directly through Marriott's website -- this should not have happened. Marriott Corporation dropped the ball multiple times on this issue. As a loyal customer I am as surprised as I am dissatisfied with this lack of customer care. There are many chains from which to choose when it comes to hotels. I will NOT be staying at a Marriott nor using a Marriott Visa ever again based on this most unpleasant and totally unnecessary experience. I will also make sure to warn others about your practices and utter lack of customer care. read more
