Love, love, love this hotel. Was here for 2 weeks for work. The room was spacious and clean. Ample of parking everyday. Gym was maintained, clean, up to date, and never crowded. They even had a good sized indoor pool for grown up and kids to play in. Everyday free breakfast, you can tell the cook take pride on how they cook the food and present it. The best part, the staff. The staff was so accommodating on everything and anything, the worst thing they can say is NO if you ask. They switch my rooms, they threw in a microwave, they made cookies for my every evening , wowzer. Shoutout to the mgr in the suit, super friendly and easy going. read more

With clear memories of watching this place get built 20 years ago while I was a college student in the area, it was amusing to finally have a belated chance to experience this hotel on a post-Christmas return visit to the Pioneer Valley. The staff here seemed extra attentive and responsive, most notably re-housing me when the initial assigned room was too close to noisy ventilation areas for my comfort. It appeared that they had a regular routine of walking the premises and staying alert to any challenges. The railroad/long style of the single room was a bit larger than I needed, but okay in general. An included couch was an unexpected bonus and especially enjoyable for my cat who was traveling with me. read more

Stayed in Hampton Inn for a couple of nights. I haven't stayed in one of these for a few years so I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pretty happy with my stay. Pros: - Free breakfast! It's really just your usual continental breakfast but when you didn't expect this and they do have food for you for free, its kind of a nice surprise. - The bedroom itself is actually very renovated as all the furniture and beds felt very new. Also, because it doesn't seem like a lot of people stay in this hotel, the room feels not very used which is nice. - Lots of USB and charging ports. Honestly, probably the most I have ever seen in a hotel room which is pretty cool! - Supportive staff! I needed help booking a cab and they were all very helpful and nice about it. Cons - The bathrooms were a bit old and there was some problems with the way it was modeled, at least in my room. The sink handle was a little loose so there wasn't a differentiator between warm and cold water and the shower faucet (I'm not sure what it was called) was angled and so the water didn't come out straight. - Would've appreciated if it was closer to a supermarket or some sort of thing as in order to get anything you do need a car. Overall, not a bad stay at all. Can't imagine why there would be people staying here unless its affiliated with one of the Universities in the area but regardless, glad I got to experience this hotel. read more

So...Hampton Inn. It's got a brand standard, which is usually pretty good which is why we use it as a go-to on family travel like as not ---and this location is below that standard. We got an OK night's sleep and it seemed reasonably safe and secure (we had two rooms), although perhaps both of these things were helped by being at the very end of the floor. It was clean enough so that's enough to get us to three stars. But there were a ton of little things that were just off. The hallway floors CREAK abominably. I could hear it creak through the room door, and when I walked down the hall I thought I was in the Addams Family mansion. The rooms were unfathomably dim. No overhead lights in the main rooms, but only the two bedside lamps and an unreconfigurable desk lamp provided additional illumination outside the pretty dim foyer. All this is pretty harsh LED. Harsh and low lumens is not the way to go. There were dings and knicks on the furniture down at ground level (see illustration for bathroom). No microwave. The TV had no paper channel guide. No note pads (we like to leave a thank you note for the room cleaner with our cash tip). Not even a local amenities guide, which given the lack of food options right around the hotel (and nothing in the lobby) would have been helpful in other circumstances. It felt sort of like we were staying in a set, or a staged room. We also got vibrations and thuds *through the headboards of the beds* every time somebody within five or so rooms of us opened or closed a door. See also: creaking floors. We also got an oddly large amount of noise from outside -- you could hear people on the sidewalk and parking lot too well. It wasn't a night-long problem and the hotel is oriented so you don't get Route 9 noise, but the soundproofing was not good. Breakfast was adequate -- make your own waffles (pumpkin spice waffle mix was nice, but with only one maker and some kids playing with it when we breakfasted, stuck at the end of a nook it was awkward), oatmeal was watery but they had multiple toppings, a limited range of cereals but sufficient, micro omelettes, middling baked goods, tiny yoplaits, slightly underripe fruit, and the standard coffee you can get 24/7 in the lobby doubled for breakfast. The plates and cups were all disposable, which I understand, but it's 2022, at least have plates and mugs that don't add to a landfill, at least at this level of a place. So see all the nits I picked? Any of them in isolation, not a problem. Throw them all together, we just got the impression it was down in the mouth. The emblem of our visit was looking at the US, Massachusetts, and Hampton inn flags flapping in the wind, and seeing how faded and tattered all three were. That's a sign somebody's not bothering to invest in this place. Seeing a frayed Old Glory isn't going to affect most people's stay but it added to the feeling we just needed to get out and move on. The front desk staff on check in (on a holiday) were excellent, fwiw, and checkout completely painless. Clean enough. read more

This Hampton Inn is located off the main road evenly situated between Northampton and Amherst. Route 9 traffic noise was non-existent. The room was very clean. Even the air vents were very clean(first time in ten years of using HI's that this happened). Cudo's to the housekeeping staff. We had a nice view of trees from our window. They even had their signature chocolate chip cookies in the lobby. read more

This hotel is clean and neat. They serve breakfast from 6-10am daily and the breakfast is pretty good. Apple juice- is water juice. Orange was great. I only knocked it down a few stars because of the room rate! I paid over $700 for 2 nights, with a discount, crazy! Very rude front desk staff that covers for the hotel management, so they can ignore guest's concerns. We booked this hotel when traveling home. Due to illness (Covid) and being considered contagious we had to cancel our reservation. We prepaid, which was a huge mistake. I explained we had to miss our flight but did not get into medical issues. They said they would not refund us the 800+ dollars!!! I am sorry to say that my hotel room had fleas. The room was outdated and dreary to begin with, but fleas? This is a pet friendly hotel. Precautions need to be taken with proper cleaning to ensure that insects and fur are not left behind for guests who may be allergic to pets or their parasites. read more

Went to get a drink after a show and was very disappointed. Ordered two espresso martinis and received water downed espresso in a martini glass. To top it off the bartender was very unfriendly, inattentive (we had to ask for her because she wouldn't check in on us), and struggled to even make eye contact. We wont be back here because we prefer cafe americanos from a cafe, not a bar. First time leaving a bar with two mostly full martini glasses on the bar. We still had to pay for them though despite the bartenders mistake! read more

Safe parking, convenient location, fairly attractive. Easy-to-get, good coffee. A trifle expensive. Workers were friendly, check in and out quick. Breakfast counter cramped but large varied seating area. Scrambled eggs were tasty! and they had healthy options of turkey sausage, mango or strawberry smoothies and even greens juice (but these were all sweet). Banana bread and bagels were average. The room and bathroom were big and clean. A little messy in grout by tub. No bathroom fan. Neutrageena bath products, plenty of towels. Temp control was good and quiet. The mattress was shallow and hard, not cushiony. The sheets kind of rough and bleachy. I sleep on my stomach and did not like the smell of the mattress nor pillow. After covering them with a towel it was OK. Also, when I called the hotel to confirm my Booking.com reservation, the first foreign-speaking employee couldn't find it. When I asked to speak to someone else, the second employee did find it. But the experience was unnecessarily aggravating. read more

Perfectly adequate hotel. Breakfast is included with room fee and selections were plentiful. Complimentary coffee, tea, and hot cocoa 24 hrs a day is a nice feature. Gym is surprisingly well equipped. I only gave 3 stars because you have to knock my socks off to get 5 stars from me, plus I took off another star because the pool was closed without being disclosed on the website nor confirmation email. The kids were really looking forward to using the pool, and it was crummy to have learned that news upon check in. Also, our room overlooked the rear of some sort of industrial complex and the sound of idling trucks was annoying. I recommend trying to get a room on the front of the hotel. read more

Hampton Inn does not pretend to be the Four Seasons, so one should not think concierges and award-winning cuisine here. What this hotel does well is provide friendly service, clean, large rooms, with comfy beds, good working space with wifi, etc. They have a complimentary breakfast that is admittedly pretty weak and right off of a food service truck, but it is free and there is a wide selection of stuff to eat. This hotel is only a couple of miles from I-91 and is very close to the center of Amherst - so the location is very good. In the equation of you get what you pay for, this Hampton Inn did right by me. read more

Plenty of parking in front of the building so you don't have to haul your bags around. Room was large and clean, bathroom was well lit. Worth the Drive to Avoid Big City Prices, Grime and Hotel Decrepitude Just a fantastic property and a welcome break from hotels in Hartford, Boston and Worcester during a harrowing trip checking out colleges. Slept so well and were so impressed with the housekeeping we changed reservations (but added a two hour commute) to stay a few more nights. And don't forget to drop by Atkins Farms Country Market for an amazing assortment of quality snacks and things you can't find anywhere else. I don't typically do a lot of reviews for hotels, but since we had a few awkward experiences here while I was staying here for a wedding this past weekend, I thought I would share. First off, my friend had booked a room block a year ago for her wedding. She guaranteed them a good amount of rooms, and they didn't even offer her any sort of comps! Not only that, but they didn't even give her one of the suites that were supposed to be in the room block! They finally gave her a "suite", which really wasn't much, and then started a fight with her the night before her wedding over the price. Very unprofessional, and it was really handled in the wrong manner. My room was decent, although it had a very weird smell. I tried to remind myself that I was in a hotel, but this was beyond even your typical hotel smell. Checkout is at 11a.m., and they actually called my room just past 11 to see why I hadn't checked out yet! I understand the concept of checkout time, but I would think there has to be a 5-10 minute grace period. I'm sure that some of the appeal of staying here is the proximity to Northampton and 91, but I would do yourself a favor and stay at the Courtyard Marriott about 8-10 minutes down Route 9 towards Amherst. read more

It's really a great 4 1/2 star place, but I'm rounding up for great service, convenient location (mid-way between Amherst and Northampton) and a skip from Rt 91 if you're only stopping while heading further on. We virtually always like the Hampton Inns better than any of the parent Hilton hotels we've stayed at! Clean, comfortable, nicely appointed room with free Wi-Fi. Indoor pool of decent size for swimming laps, a nicely stocked and clean workout room next to it, and a very useful, albeit one-computer, one printer, courtesy business center which was never tied up so I guess one is enough. Bed was very hard, yet comfortable. All white linens and duvet cover was fresh and lovely. Comfortable selection of pillows -- even the non-feather ones were fluffy and great. Nicely decorated lobby had much seating, with sliding doors hiding their free breakfast buffet setup. A TV, fireplace, couch, granite bar seating area and lower tables and chairs. Very inviting, lovely and informal. Round the clock complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, tea self service. Only downside -- and this is a serious one -- there are no mini-fridges in the (standard) rooms or even available on request from housekeeping. For chilling drinks, leftovers, yogurts or whatever, this is very inconvenient. (However, the front desk has a small staff fridge and were glad to stash our small cooler there overnight for us, though no freezer to re-chill our ice packs. For those of us hiking in the area, those are essential!) We asked for a quiet room and, except for the ceaseless stomping of an upstairs guest until 2am, it was a very quiet location. I'd recommend requesting a top floor room to avoid this problem. (I think there are just 3 floors.) They provide complimentary earplugs -- but only one pair so, if there are two of you and you want to sleep through morning vacuuming, ask for an extra pair from the desk. We would absolutely stay here again. At just over $100 a night, it was a great bargain, quiet, convenient, and very pleasant. (There is a strange "village" of shops in partial construction and disarray right next door so you might inquire about any noise that may come from that if they resume construction, and adjust your room placement accordingly if you are not an early a.m. person.) read more

I usually look for the hip charming inn when I travel, however the fact is this Hampton inn has everything one needs and more. It is well thought out, i.e. three bathroom hooks (seriously, that means a lot! I've been in several expensive exclusive inns lately and there is no place to hang my toiletries bag & robe). Light switches that are placed by the light! not a million switches that are impossible to figure out. Decent coffee maker, cozy comforter, firm mattress, excellent toiletries & towels. downsides:The heater is too loud and quite annoying, no side table or reading light on one side of bed. Would never stay at this Hampton Inn (Amherst) again! Poor management in dealing with guests. Service was poor and hostile towards guests. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone!! In fact, would not recommend hotel for large groups as we were part of a group and forced to leave the hotel after returning from the wedding!!! When we arrived check in was fast and easy. Coffee and tea 24/7 in the lobby. All clean with pleasant staff. Good location just off the main road so there was no road noise. read more

We've stayed here a few times over the past few years. I'm sad to say that the standards seem to have gone down. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms aside from a few upgraded rooms like the king suite and the whirlpool room. There was also no option to add an oven or fridge for an additional fee. We were told that they may be adding them after an upcoming renovation. The staff was nice enough, though to find me a plastic bin to use as a cooler. Also when the room was cleaned my pajamas were placed in a bundle on the couch, which I thought was unhygienic . I hope these issues are resolved-- we would like to stay here on our next trip this summer. The always available coffee is great and the breakfasts were very good. . read more

This hotel is everything I expected it to be in it's class. It was affordable, clean, with plentiful parking, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We booked a suite which in reality does not include more than one room but rather is a slightly larger single room with a couch, microwave, and refrigerator. The pool was clean but closed randomly each day for hours at a time. We were able to work around it but it was a bit annoying as we have two young children who wanted to be in it as much as possible. read more

This place is horrible. I stayed here for 18 days in total in a 2 year period out of necessity, and both times, the hotel organized something where they let an unbelievably obnoxious crowd stay during both times. The first obnoxious group was a group of teenagers who came into the exercise room and started recording themselves humping pillows and each other--no joke. The second obnoxious group was a group of parents and kids and they just invaded the swimming pools, breakfast during the morning, and the hallways, while drinking beer and being loud. The staff was perfectly fine with all that. Both times me and my partner came here, a huge rash broke out on her body because of the cheap chlorine used to clean the towels and covers. That didn't happen at Marriott. It's also worth noting that the maids drink beer while cleaning. I saw a beer can as I was checking out, and it wasn't in the trash. The hotel also gets angry at you if you try to get yourself cereal because you have no cash and you're starving and can't afford vending machine food. They also only leave cookies out less than half of the time if you're starving. The cooks can't even read the instructions to make a waffle right, and they force you to let them make the waffle because they don't trust you to do it. They use powdered eggs to make scrambled eggs and their meat tastes overcooked and barely inedible. Horrible and incompetent. At least this place has free Wifi and a fitness center, and is mostly comfortable. read more

What a wonderful place to stay near the Yiddish book center and the UMASS/five college area. The staff was excellent and the room was clean, full of lots of towels. Over the past few years we have stayed at Hilton properties many times, primarily the Hampton Inn. We have always found them clean and comfortable; this one lived up to that expectation. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that for the first time, when we asked for a bottle of water at the desk, we were told to buy one in the vending machine. All other Hampton Inns we have visited have given us a bottle of water for the room. read more

Didn't plan on staying here, but got caught in a blizzard while driving on I-91 and needed immediate safety and shelter. We telephoned from the highway (thank God for smart phones) and were given a quote of $139.00 for the the whole family - two good sized queen beds. The room and rest of the hotel was very clean with a nice lobby area with complimentary tea and coffee, a gas fire place, and large screen TV -- perfect place to unwind during a storm after 5 hours of white knuckle driving. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and even brought out fresh cookies. Nice pool area and exercise room. Breakfast was typical cereal, yogurt, some fresh fruit and juices, make your own waffles, and a chafing dish with little omelettes (so so), sausage patties (pretty good) and potatoes (quite good). Really a very good deal considering my whole family got bed and breakfast in a nice clean hotel just a couple minutes off the interstate! The only minor comment I have is that the free internet was quite slow up on the 2nd floor where our room was - it was fine in the lobby. We would definitely stay here again. read more
