The reason I am giving CVC only one star, is because I feel like this vet clinic's performance and professionalism has become very poor since they had left Eugene. In Eugene, the staff was phenomenal in my opinion. They were gentle with my pets, they seemed to be very knowledgeable, educated, and provided me with quality advice, explanations, and instructions. When my pets received tests, we were noticed with the results and any recommendations within a couple of days. In Pleasant Hill, however, we felt rushed and did not receive the same kind of service. I didn't feel like their Vet provided me with the communication and time that I felt my pet and I deserved. My cat felt terribly uncomfortable with her Vet'erinarian's energy, as did I. I'm not sure how qualified she is, because i felt rushed and did not receive the communication I had with the CVC Eugene Veterinarians. In addition, we are at 3 days shy of one month since my cat's U/A. I have called and emailed several times, and we still have not received my cat's results. The majority of the time, my attempts to contact CVC have received no response. I am a retired veterinary technician. I would have been fired if I had forgotten to get back to our clients, or had them wait even a week for their animals test results. Only once have I ever felt such a lack of professionalism from the veterinarians and clinics that I have worked for or those who I have brought my pets to for the past 25 years. And that other one time I had a very poor vet experience, well, that same Veterinarian is working for CVC at this time! I just wish CVC would have never left Eugene. The service and support I received from their Eugene staff was always professional and respectable. And we were always treated very well. It is really a shame that the new clinic in Pleasant Hill doesn't have this same quality service and vibe. It saddens me greatly, and I can tell that my cat misses the old place too.

I took my cat in, it was my dads cat an he past away. We didn't know what sex the cat was and asked…read morethem. He went in for an exam and dental work. The vet came in for the exam which consisted of taking his temperature and feeling his stomach, looking at his teeth. His ears or heart wasn't checked at all. Then she left the room. They wanted to do blood work and get him back in for dental work. He did have a broken fang, I figured since I had a dental visit, they would take care of it? Nope, they wanted to see the blood work first, I had to reschedule for the dental. Which I could tell he was in pain already by the way he ate, so now it will be 2 1/2 weeks. They did give me pain meds though. We still don't know the sex, it seems they didn't want to take the time to check. They said they thought he was a female because he is a small cat and he'd be bigger if he was a male. He is a long hair and they didn't want to mess with all his fur to check his actual sex. Then in the morning I called to ask a question for my visit. The phone rang and rang, no one answered. I called again and left a message. No response. I sent an email, plus I called again with no acknowledgement. I told the girl up fron about my calls, she said they were having a lot of calls that morning. That to me is very discouraging. That's their business, we are their customers! We have questions we need answers to. How do they know what we are calling for? How do they pick the calls they answer? That is not professional at all. If that's an example of how much they care, it makes me rather worried. Now I hope they won't take it out on my cat when I take him back in for his dental visit? This is my response, not my cats. I just hope they treat my cat well and do it professionally. I don't want him to be in pain much after his surgery. I did love that the work they did was in the room I was in. I think it made my cat more at ease knowing I was there with him, instead of being taken in another room with people he didn't know. That made me feel very good. The Dr. barely touched our dogs, didn't show any affection for our pets, and treated us like we're were homeless and a financial flight risk- we had only spent a couple thousand with them, and I am still appalled that they would make us sign payment forms at each visit before they would offer care. We never found relief for our dogs skin issues which they blamed fleas for and recommended we use Bravecto, We had already expressed this med isn't working. We ended in a loop of poor care, and spent a fortune on unnecessary appointments/medication. I have never been so glad to leave a medical practice in my life.

Dr. Jenny was his usual doctor who cared for him while he was sick, but she wasn't available the day we chose to say goodbye. Dr. Pappas bore the heavy weight of putting him to sleep in our arms and, though we hadn't met her before this, she was extraordinarily sensitive of our emotions and gently explained everything before it happened. She made what felt like the worst day of our lives, a little more positive and manageable when the weight of it threatened to crush us under foot. Although I still can't think too much on this day without crying, I felt the staff involved in Tiki's care deserve all the warmest regards, hugs, and thank yous I can muster. They called us to give their condolences, kept us up to date on Tiki's cremation service, and when we picked up his ashes days later, the package and card were so lovingly put together and you could just feel a gentle human touch in every detail. It felt like the Santa Clara vet family was mourning Tiki right alongside us. We are so grateful for the care Tiki received, and we really wouldn't have had it any other way than with the team at Santa Clara. Wanted to also specifically shoutout Aubrie for her calling Tiki "Handsome Bobansome" during his visit, which has famously entered his little book of nicknames he accrued over the course of his life. Hopefully they figured it out. WE took our two Westies here to be groomed after my having such an awful time at Oh My Dog. WELL. WONDERFUL. That's all. Sarah was a groomer, and she was FAN.TASTIC. I used to show Westies - I KNOW I'm picky. I know not every groomer knows breed standards. I have made concessions for that in the past. With Sarah, I didn't have to. She was so detailed, and made SURE she knew what I wanted and expected. And didn't treat me like I was overbearing for asking for what I wanted. I paid $98 for both dogs - and couldn't be happier. She knows dogs. She's friendly. She's precise. She's professional. She frankly, saved my idea of finding a real groomer in Eugene. As far as the shop, I love all the swanky puppy toys and treats. It can be a bit pricey, but it's a specialty store, and if I'm looking for frilly and fun, I KNOW where I can get it. Frankly, as long as they keep Sarah, I'll MAKE a point to go in and spend. I get my pups toothbrushes there too - and even when I'm only spending $1.50 - they're still nice and grateful. Love this place.

I'm a first time puppy owner and I don't know what to do with him. I was scrolling through Instagram came across Curious K9 and I thought ok I'll give them a try. I recognized her last name and realized I was in the right place. I will never for get the first phone call with LeeAnn and I cried through the whole phone conversation. I think I answered a couple of questions. One thing I didn't like about other dog trainers that I tried was all the games and confusing dog training style .With my very first appointment with them, they knew the problem and got on it immediately to help me and my lab. They were very good with helping me when I wasn't quite sure if I was doing the right thing. They are amazing. I took every class they recommended. I also did doggie day care with training two days a week for a month. I now have the very best relationship with my boy. The only place he stays when I go out of town and can't take him with is with LeeAnn and her team. He also has doggie daycare days. We are like family. I would highly recommend them for any of your dog care needs.

He took the time to talk me…read morethrough a medical issue with great care, even as I'm sure he's had that same conversation with about 10,000 pet owners over the years. He's very conscientious, knowledgable, and eager to educate pet owners with abundant information and options. (All over the phone--I haven't met him in person, as I explain below.) I'd like to explain the unusual and somewhat imperfect system they have for seeing pets, just so nothing is a surprise for future clients. It's a small clinic seeing a lot of pets, so apparently it takes a long time to get an appointment the regular way. When I called and asked to make an appointment, I got a call back on voicemail saying "we have you booked for tomorrow morning, see you then" without working together to find a time. Since my schedule is difficult, it was sheer luck that I was available that day. When I called back for instructions, I was asked to bring the cat *before 8am* at which point he was put in a cage waiting to be seen. This is how they squeeze in appointments without a multi-week wait, which makes sense; but since that system wasn't clearly explained to me, it came as a bit of a surprise. The vet was able to see the cat 3-4 hours later and we had a very helpful conversation over the phone. Then I got tied down at work and by the time I was available to pick up the cat, he'd been there 5 hours or so. When I got him home, he was desperately hungry--I learned that they don't provide food, just water and litterbox. I also learned that there was a $40 "hospitalization fee" for this method, which was not explained beforehand. (For pricing transparency, the physical exam was $95. I think that's reasonable and the vet is very good. Also re: pricing, it seems like what they charge for prescription food and medicines is comparable to online, which I appreciate. Not much markup. So that's all good.) None of this is really bad, or anything, but I would have really appreciated a bit more advance explanation of the visit system, the fees, of the need for pet owners to bring food, etc. The front desk staff seem nice, but they are somewhat less patient and informative in explaining things than the doctor. It is worth it to have a good vet. And now future clients know that if the office slots you in for one of these morning drop-offs, it will cost $40 and you should bring food. My dog Spur, had been an insulin dependent diabetic for a little over a year, he had gone blind about 4 months ago, and got diagnosed with Cushings. His quality of life was going down fast. We ended up taking him with us to live on the farm for the rest of his days. He had some great moments in those last few weeks. But it was time, he was in pain. I called and made an end of life appointment with them. They didn't know me, they didn't understand that I have been watching our pup slowly decline. He still wanted to eat and didn't seem like he wasn't ok to the outside. So they had to take my word for it. I thought I would have to sit there and convince them, it would have been so hard to do and so stressful especially without my husband. But they didn't need that. They took me at my word and helped me get my best friend over the rainbow bridge. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. They have a small candle that they light to let others know to be quieter. And they helped me with the paperwork and getting a spreading tube (to spread his ashes), I wanted to save that for when my husband gets back. Then they called me the next week and I went to get his remains. A week and a half later, I got a card in the mail, with everyone's signature. This meant the world to me that these people, Wes Violet's people, that didn't know my doggy, trusted me, and genuinely did their best to make this super tough experience go so well. Thank you. Truly, from the bottom of my heart. You helped us so much.
