Ordered 300 dollars worth of food for Thanksgiving. The Turkey was great! I got 1 small gravy for 5 lbs of mashed potatoes. Not nearly enough to go around.. And the real kicker was the ham... folks go ahead and buy your ham from the store. This was not enough to feed my family and tasted like canned ham. Huge disappointment for the price I paid. Haven't been in years...now I remember why. Lady working the front must have been having a bad day, not friendly whatsoever. Chicken strips tasted like fish...so you may as well order fish..., tasteless hush puppies, and their menu has been reduced (online wasn't showing same menu). Everything says these guys are open until 9pm. Apparently they are not as I was there today at 8.20pm and even though all the lights were on no one was answering the drive thru. I eventually decided they were not going to answer me so I drove around to the front and they appeared to be emptying the place and putting everything into a van parked right by the side entrance. I then spoke to a lady who was outside going to the van and she told me they actually close at 8pm. Would I go back - probably although this episode has put me off. Hey, y'all it looks like more of the same. The food is good the people are great at least most of them. It looks like everybody has at least one .... Anyway, same thing. I walked in and a young lady was cleaning and sweeping the floor. She came to the register and took my order. A few seconds later she went and put on gloves. I said "Excuse me" and waved at her. I asked her to come to the counter so that I could speak to her one-on-one. I told her "You were sweeping the floor when I came in. Are you going to wash your hands?" Then I got that look. I said if you are NOT going to wash your hands, Don't fix my plate! She said, "You don't want me to fix your plate?" I said "Not if you are not going to wash your hands. You were sweeping the floor when I came in." She got in a huddle with other employees and this guy came over and said I heard the first part, so I told him what I said. He too had that look. What is it y'all? "Wash your hands" IS a cuss phrase in a food prep business. The food was good and one of the guys packing to-go boxes fixed my plate! Good hygiene was or should always be the norm and even more so since Before, During, and After the pandemic! I would have given 1 star but my issue was with that one person. Just attempted to purchase a family 12 piece of mixed roasted chicken. The menu shows it is $32. However after placing the order and coming to pay they extremely rude cashier told me it would be $43. I asked why and was told we got all white meat. I explained to him that we ordered the mixed roasted and actually wanted dark meat as well. He then says they are out of dark meat and would have to pay for the all white meat dinner. No matter how many times I tried to explain I didn't want all white meat he refused to listen. He then tells me to get fried. My wife is allergic to gluten and can't have it. He just shrugs and says oh well. We recently moved to the area and have only been here once before. That's the last time will be going here. You can't treat customers like this and expect repeat business. read more

True it was a wait after calling and they said it will be ready in 15 minutes. And then I requested for them to give me an hour I called at 3:00pm, she said ok it would be ready, however when I get there 30 minutes after the hour at 4:30pm it wasn't ready. They said they were fixing it. But I sit 30 minutes 5:00pm asked about it again they said "my manager fixing it" I finally got it at 5:35pm. I like the chicken but I will not be back because it's a little costly, which I don't mind because the chicken was good. I just discovered this place while visiting and driving around Augusta, GA. I do have to say this is one of the better chicken places out there. The chicken was good and as close to "Home Cooked" as i've had at a restaurant in a long time. Definately better than KFC!!! And not greasy!!! I hope to go back before I leave to try a few more things! However the Mac & Cheese was Fantastic!! Not many places serve traditional baked mac and cheese like I make at home, but they do it, and do it very very well!! The fried okra, banana pudding and sweat tea are pretty good as well. I hadn't been to Wife Saver in years. I pretty much forgot all about them. They started to close many of them in the area and we are now left with only a few of them to dine in. I went back here on a Sunday night. It was pretty busy that night. Several people came in to order and dine in. I understand why many people patronize this business because the food is pretty good. My mother had dined at Wife Saver a few days earlier and the chicken livers were the bomb!!!! I had to come a get a plate for myself. The employees that were taking orders were very enthusiastic and happy to serve. I ordered the 6 piece fried chicken livers dinner. It came with two sides, which were macaroni and broccoli and cheese casserole, and bread. The livers themselves were huge. They looked like two livers put together. I definitely wasn't mad about that!!!! The macaroni and cheese needed just a wee bit of salt but the broccoli and cheese casserole was just right. I liked it a lot. I have to try the chicken again next time because I use to really like their chicken. I have to now add this restaurant on my favorite restaurants list!!!! read more

This is one of the worst restaurants in town, the owner is non-friendly, the employees always have an attitude and are never on task, and people at the registers are always nowhere to be found. Came in the other day and watched the head manager cutting a cake WITH NO GLOVES ON BLEHH, that's just gross.
