The wine is good with a lot of choices, however I was very frustrated with the service. My husband and I came on a Sunday morning right at opening (so it was not crowded). After enjoying some time on the patio, we came in to finish our tasting cards at the bar. Adriana poured my tasting. I finished it and stood there waiting for her to help me again. Instead, she stood with a coworker, Jackie, and talked to her about personal issues going on in her life. I was standing directly in front of them, clearly waiting for service for 5 minutes before Jackie asked me what I wanted next. I asked her about 2 different wines, received a one word answer, and was then questioned by her why my last tasting check mark was in the incorrect box on my tasting card. I told her I had no clue and then she made me tell her what tastings I had before because she believed that I had already filled up my card and was trying to fool her. I have been wine tasting many times and have never been treated like this. I will not be back. read more

We love Wiens!! Had a lovely time this morning - got there when they opened - and met my cousin and her family from Mohave/Turlock area. Stacy has always been great when we've visited and today was no exception! We had such a nice time and such wonderful wines. My cousin and her husband bought 3 bottles to take home. We had a lovely time today, but in previous visits Spenser has helped us and our visits have been so enjoyable. I don't think I've ever left a review for a place I didn't actually get served at, but here we are. I walked out of this winery because of the service. I had stopped for lunch at a place in Old Town and Wiens was recommended to me, so I came here after. It was busy but there was an entire empty section with menus which indicated to me it was open for serving. I was there less than a minute when the bartender came over and told me the section wasn't open but she'd be glad to serve me if I scooted over a bit. No problem, I obliged. A few women next to me saw the encounter and remarked how they were surprised they didn't open that section because they clearly had the volume. But whatever, I waited. While I was waiting, a group of 4 or 5 came up to the section and the bartender told them they didn't have service there and she'd get someone. She then changed her mind, decided to serve this group, and ignored me entirely. The women next to me had jaws dropped. So did I. We commiserated and I wished them a good tasting and walked right out. There's so many wineries here, I definitely don't need to spend my limited time being ignored for service. read more

Simply the best winery in Temecula Valley.... big, bold reds for entry level to fine connoisseur and even some fun orange-infused bubbly for those who like the lighter side. But the family and the staff are the real magic to this winery. Tim runs a wonderful tasting room and Sandy an amazing cellar room for paired tastings, greeting everyone with smiles even as they attends to the many details that have grown even more complex in the midst of a pandemic. We feel well cared-for every time, and are thankful for their creativity, added shade and seating areas and all the extra cleaning measures and safety protocols to keep us safe. It was the weekend and the winery was packed with so many wine lovers like ourselves. We had our three dogs with us and were looking around for a good winery that is pet friendly. The entrance of the winery is super cute with a nice vineyard for photo opportunities. We found a table outside and were pretty set on doing the wine tasting package. However, the section that we were sitting did not have a server (given how busy the store was) and we couldn't sit inside given all our pets. That was when our sales manager,Donna, came in and turn this experience for the better. She recommended us to get a couple bottles to sit outside and even let us taste test before we purchased to make sure we love it. She then brought over wine tasting tickets for our entire group so we can come back and experience the true Wiens wine experience the next time. Talk about good service! Thank you Donna and the entire staffs at Wiens Winery for making our weekend and we will definitely return for some more delicious wine in the future. read more

I do A LOT of wine tasting, wine drinking, and wineing in general. Lol. I've been through the big vineyards and the little wineries, I've been through corporate and through mom & pop shops. But the one thing I hate is a smaller winery that acts like it KJ. First of all, the tasting punch cards. I think these are ridiculous. It makes the whole experience very impersonal and cheap feeling. There has to be a logistical solution to avoid using this process. I've been to large and very busy wineries that operate just fine and dandy without stamp cards for tasting. Now on to the important part of the review: their wine. It's...Temecula wine. It's good. But it could be better. Their whites are great, their reds leave a lot to be desired. Had a few reds that seemed to try to emulate the super Tuscan style and fell far short. They're earthy and spicy and all the good things, but they lack depth at the same time. Also, for a venue: we checked out Wiens as a possible wedding venue, and let me just say no. Don't do it. Well, at least I would not hold my wedding here. The actual wedding venue where the vows are exchanged is okay looking, along with the reception area. But it's very...bland and...impersonal. Kind of like a lot of their wine. As a caveat, everyone has different tastes. I get that, I appreciate that, and I never forget it. But this place is definitely not for me. Would I recommend this place to others: Yes, for their white wine. Other than that, I would let them know that it's decent, but nothing to write home about. Would I come back here myself? Probably not. There are some many other vineyards and wineries to explore, but I wouldn't be averse to stopping in here again if I was in the area. Like I said, I like their whites. read more

Our service was excellent and our "server" (not sure official title) Tim was awesome and very attentive and personable, I would definitely recommend going to this winery, for the wines, and the grounds are nice (we sat on outdoor patio) and ask for Tim. This was our first trip to Temecula and our first wine tasting stop. It turned out to be our favorite winery we visited. We are red wine drinkers and we were very pleased with all of the reds we tasted at Wiens. We were honored to have Kendal as our pourer. She was very informative, professional ,attentive and gave us tips on the Valley. We visited mid week and took advantage of the the 2for one tasting offered on the internet. The wine tasting area is spacious, clean and welcoming . The wines are pricey as they are in the whole valley... but then again they are only selling at the vineyard. I've been wine tasting in Temecula for years, but now I have my toddler with me. I specifically came here because I read reviews that say they are family / kid friendly. They definitely are!!! I was helped by Ramona and she was so nice and pleasant to chat with. It was a bit crowded, but she never name me feel rushed to pick my next tasting and rush away. We stayed in the tasting room because it was warm outside, but we easily could've picked a table outside and had a picnic. There was a large grass area that my son could run around in if he wanted too. My son was in his stroller while in the tasting room, but I saw other (well behaved) toddlers walking freely and everyone seemed to be ok with it. They also sell snacks, like chips and crackers which is a plus while you are drinking. The wines are great and you get to keep your glass. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Visited here 3/1/22. The setup is pay up front for tasting, $25. I got my glass, went to a table and a server brought each tasting pour. I bought the Dulce Maria. Light and fruity. Probably won't go back. The wines are good but I've had better at similar prices. read more

I'm into it! And that Orange sparkling wine too! I party bused it out here with the adorable Donna R for her dirty 30 a few weeks ago and it was a great choice for a stop. Someone from the winery came and introduced himself and showed us into the tasting room. We all got cards asap and started in on the tasting - I really enjoyed each wine and wandering the grounds too. Our wine pourer was a nice guy, but seemed a little flustered by the busy day and wasn't super personable. No matter! We drank and enjoyed ourselves just fine. It's one of the wineries in Temecula where you can bring in your own food for the picnic area, plus a wedding venue. The Members-Only room is awesome and spacious - located among barrels through a special entrance on the back. There's a small cooler of cheeses and snacks, as well as gift items throughout for purchase. One of the better portfolios of wine in Temecula that I've tried. Excited to go back! read more

First and foremost let me preface this review with the fact that I almost never post a negative review about any place I visit. Most places that disappoint I don't even bother. This place and the service of the management and one of the owners was so appalling I felt compelled to write one of my few (if not only) negative reviews. I set up a tasting for 13 of my friends today and showed up and from the instant we entered the manager, Rob, Was rude and not accommodating. We were there for my wife's birthday and the manager was rude to her directly which was the straw that broke the camel's back. Bad service happens from time to time but raining on someone's parade? Uncalled for. And when I confronted the manager about his behavior, he kept backpedaling and made the issue worse at the end of the day. The owner was present so when we approached him looking for something positive to take away from it, he sat there like a dud. He offered nothing to make our experience better. Talk about not giving a damn about customer service. As someone who runs a business I was shocked that people can treat customers this way and stay in business. The experience was terrible and the lack of any apology for the behavior at the winery was unacceptable. Please do not waste your money here. Both Calllaway and Hart are more accommodating and caring. read more

Always mixed experiences depending on who serves the tastings here, huge winery right next to Ponte cant miss it! Beautiful place to just grab a glass and wander around or maybe just kick back on the patio seating they have setup outside. Wines here are exceptional and fairly cheap $15 tastings if you are able to take advantage of the 2 for 1 coupons. I'm not usually a big fan of reds but they seemed excellent here with big bold flavors, the Cab and the Syrah were delicious. The highlight here is definitely the Amour De l'Orange which is a Champ with hint of orangy goodness, absolutely spectacular! If you're really into whites like me Clementine is somewhat similar to the Amour De L'Orange but with a bit bolder flavor or orange. And can't forget about the Dulce Maria which is a bit more strong yet still sweet and calming. Other than that I would give Weins 5 stars if it weren't for the rude staff member on our last visit, a friend who loved the Amour De L'Orange asked to use 2 tastings for a double pour was denied and told to come back a second time instead in somewhat of a rude manner. We have belonged to Wiens for awhile. There are several wines my husband really likes and several servers that we both like (Hey, Lisa!) We have brought friends here, but never a group, which we did this last weekend. We had made reservations several weeks in advance but were not told that there would be no member discount for friends (that our other wineries allow us) and no reserved areas (as our other wineries do for us), so please keep this in mind if you come on the impacted weekends. $20 per person, no discounts for member friends or $25 per person in the member's barrel room. I'd recommend coming during the week if you are in a group, and check out their website for their 2/1 tasting coupon, which is only good during the week. Their wines and servers and winery are worth the visit! Stars: 5 stars for the beautiful grounds and great servers, 4 stars for the wine (my DH would give them 5), 3 stars for the lack of perks (above mentioned) for members and their entourage. Again, I definitely recommend a visit, but not on the weekends except after 3pm or so if you don't like crowds or having to wait in line to taste. The pours are generous. read more

Wiens Family Cellars is definitely in the business of making money! It's not as if they are more expensive than other nearby wineries; however, the atmosphere feels corporate as opposed to the familial, independent vibe I got at others. Besides that, they had many more products (a spacious store as opposed to a table or two of items), a tasting counter that spans two walls, and a bustling crowd. The employees seemed frazzled and distracted. Each employee was torn between two or three groups of tasters vying for attention. As a result, it was impossible to provide adequate descriptions of the wine or make any small-talk. It took a long time to get through all of our tastes because we didn't have a dedicated employee to pour for us. We paid for the tasting which included several tastes, a wine glass to keep, and a discount on the purchase of wine. There was a lot more wine to taste than at other wineries. I tried a lot of sweet and fruity wines that went down easily. M liked only one of her pours. I really liked many of the items for sale in the store. I purchased an amusing magnet featuring a picture of 1950s women and a sassy quip and two t-shirts. I thought that the items in the store were eclectic, tasteful, and well-priced. read more

I've been to Wiens five times in the last two years. Obviously I love it because I keep going back. It's the only winery where I at least like everything I taste, and I always love two or three enough to buy a few bottles. I appreciate the expertise and personal attention of the employees giving the tastings, especially Terry and Rachel. We accompanied friends of ours who are members into the Cellar Room for a members-only tasting and it was wonderful. Wineries in Temecula have to battle for business every day, and the easiest way to distinguish between the wineries objectively is customer service. Wiens failed the test with a degree of impotence I have never seen in a winery, and did not seem to understand the idea of making customers feel welcome, and immersing them in the business. Pretentious, terse, and apathetic are not exactly what you want to think of when describing customer service at a wine tasting. Try somewhere else for a winery that's more fun and cares more about your experience, like Wilson Creek, or Callaway. Also, it's quite clear from the reviews that this is not a place to come with a large group, or if you're on an afternoon of wine tasting for a celebration. read more

Came here for a wedding reception ... and not being out here in Temecula before, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The exterior was at first, nothing special. But then, the glaring rays from the setting Sun went away and I saw a very articulated building surrounded by unadorned, but very functional additional buildings. From the reception hall (I think that was the name) with it's dark woods, dark themed colors with rustic ranch candelabras ... to the private grass area that had an inviting trellis ... and the misting sprayers ... all played up the grounds of the winery. But the true gem, in my opinion, was the Great Wine Cellar. I guess this area is off limits unless you are a member, in which you can taste your flights of wine in this VIP room. But I lucked out ... and had dinner in this wonderful room. It was dark, cool room ... with real functioning barrels of wine ... adorning two (or even three) sides of the room. Set with low lighting ... candles everywhere ... this is an ideal setting for anything (yes, I would love to stay over night and sleep there)! The wines ... well, let me say that for an Architect, the Wiens sure don't have to worry about his day job. The reds were smooth and fruity ... the port was a great complement to the desserts ... and even the sparkling wine was surprisingly refreshing. I'm definitely going back if Temecula is ever again on my radar! read more

Stopped in here for a friends birthday. It's one of the larger corporate wineries on the main road in Temecula. So expect a crowd on weekends. On the up side, it also means a prettier and fancier tasting room. Six tastes for $15. We went near closing, so the chaos had quieted and the server could be more attentive. Nothing particularly wowed me, but I recall liking the Red Crowded. It was a red blend and pretty good. But It's on the tasting list for members only. Since we were the last stragglers in there before closing, the server let me try a sip of it. There is a nice Gift shop to pick up fun trinkets and gifts. read more

First and LAST visit to Wiens Family Cellars! With so many wineries in Temecula, customer service and great ambiance is important. My sister and I visited Wiens on a busy Saturday. Our experience started off well. The server was friendly, informative, and mentioned the wine club and explained all the perks. After contemplating signing up, we decided to take a look around the property. When navigating the grounds we attempted to go into the barrel room, however, we noticed the sign that read "members only", before we could do anything, we were rudely greeted by an older gentleman with a bushy mustache (Dave?) who said "excuse me ladies, members only, thank you" and shut the door in our face. I was in shock, I've NEVER heard someone speak so condescendingly, and felt so unwelcomed before. All the other wineries I've been to in Temecula allow you to look around their barrel room; I never knew the barrel room was such a sacred place at Wiens. Don't waste your time, go to one of the other 35 wineries in the area! read more
