The experience with the restaurant would get a rating of 1 star. The delivery person and the delivery itself were very good; however, there were items missing from the order. I called the restaurant, identified myself as having just made an order online - before I could get any further, the woman on the other end said something to the effect of "oh, you didn't get your fries," so they were aware of their error. They were aware but had made no attempt to contact me, preferring to let me be charged for items I didn't receive?? I corrected her and said that a large fry, medium fry, and large root beer were missing. The woman asked if I could "come back" (sic) to get the items. I informed her the order had been delivery. The restaurant offering no other alternative, I had to go pick up the items. While I understand the restaurant is only a 4-mile round trip (but during late afternoon rush hour), there are reasons people order delivery instead of picking it up. I went through the drive thru for the items. I was offered no compensation - no refund of the delivery fee and tip to deliverer, not even a comped drink or hot dog - nothing. The person who handed me the items didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. read more

Ok. So.... You either need to commit to ordering hot garbage (original dogs, original bun, and sliced cheese) or upgrade your order with an all beef or polish dog, and a pretzel bun. Do not. I repeat...Do NOT mix and match. Dog; Listen. you either want hot garbage or you want a gourmet Chicago dog. Don't mix and match. I mixed and matched and was disappointed. My fault. The best dog I had tonight was the Chicago dog with polish meat, pretzel bun, and double pickle and peppers. It was good, but I wished I would have ordered the basic chili cheese with no upgrades. I know, it's crazy to give a five star review to a fast food joint, but this Wienerschnitzel is great! I am not a hotdog person and always get grumpy when that's what's on the summer menu except when we come across a Wiener Dog (our nickname for it), then I'm all Woohoo! I've been eating their hotdogs since I was a teenager, back when the restaurant was "Der Wienerschnitzel." The closest one to my house is about a 25 minute drive, so I don't get to eat here often. This particular location is the biggest one I've ever seen, having around eight booths. It's really cute inside with nicely framed, big, blown-up pics on the walls of a few popular menu items and red ceramic tiles decorating the front side of the counter accented with "W" logo tiles. The staff is happy, friendly, and keep the place clean. It was 104° outside, so I was loving their cold a/c and soaked it up as long as I could. The chili cheese dogs are fantastic! They have the perfect amount of chili (no beans) and cheese and are so good that we always order a dozen so we can take some to go. They warm-up very well in the micro and are just as good the next day, and the day after that. If you are not a fan of chili and cheese, try the Deluxe Dog. It has two half tomato slices, chopped onions, and a dill pickle spear, very fresh tasting and delicious. read more

I left skipping from Wienerschnitzel, because I got the golden wiener. No joke, I got a golden wiener antenna topper, and that was enough to put a smile on this girl's face. Wienerschnitzel is just a fast food chain dedicated to... well... wieners. Only previous summer trips to Amarillo we would often stop here after a long day at Amarillo's amusement park, because this was just one of the few places that stayed open late to accommodate crazy kids like us on a west-ward adventure. The dogs here are simple, and not overdone like a lot of fast food chains, which are hyping "Chicago Dogs" and "Southern Dogs" to places that aren't even native to the origins. Screw THAT and keep it simple, which is what Wienerschnitzel does. They keep it in Texas, and probably a couple of other chains spread out in the southwest. I wish Ohio had one of these. It wasn't anything to rave, or explode in excitement about, but it would be a place I could dig after a late night bar hop if I wasn't in the mood for pizza, or burgers. I think Wienerschnitzel was boasting they're nearly 50 years old, so VIVA LA WiENERSCHNITZEL!! Time to show the east coast some loving!!! Went here during the middle of the day. I went inside and stood there waiting for someone to take my order for about 5 minutes. I order an ice cream cone and five chili chili dogs Togo. They had the ice cream cone out right away and said my Food would be out soon. I was fine with that and enjoyed eating my ice cream. There was another couple that came into order as well. When my order did come up almost 15 minutes later, the other couple got my order. I realize what had happened, and asked one of the ladies working if that was supposed to be my order to go. She said yes... not very satisfied with my experience. read more

We went into this restaurant very skeptical, but were we surprised! I would challenge anyone to find a cleaner place in Amarillo to eat. The employees were friendly and helpful and the food was good. You could tell the food was fresh and the grease they used to fry with was new and clean . Give this place a try, it will be worth your time!! read more

1 star because it wouldn't let me post 0!!!!! I have never in my life, been in a fast food restaurant, with such poor customer service. I guess the trashy parking lot should have been my first indicator that the inside wasn't going to be any better. From the moment I walked in the door, all you could hear was the crew people laughing and cursing like they were the only ones in the store, it even took them 5 minutes to come ask me, "What you want" and that's only because I asked if they were open or what? And the manager, Trixie or Trina, something like that, was the rudest person. Like she was pissed because she had to take time away from her playing around. And her attitude, I can't even describe. And from the looks of the food they served me, they were trying to get revenge on me breaking up their little party. No portioning of condiments at all, I guess they don't know measurements. My Street dog was drenched in ketchup mustard and mayo, enough for 3 dogs!!!! My Kraut dog was soggy from the kraut juice. Fries and corndog, pure gross old tasting nasty grease, that had apparently sat way longer then it should have. For a 25.00 order, they only thing half way good was the drink. Alot of food thrown in trash, my dog wouldn't even eat it!!!!! I will never be back to this store. This use to be my go to store because of location and crew, but all the good people are gone now and the new ones suck.
