Visited on 6/24/2025 I grew up in Amarillo and have always loved Taco Villa. Anytime I come to town, I have to make a stop or two while visiting. This was stop 2 on my recent 3 night trip. The bean chalupa and bean burrito extra cheese are my favorites. Everyone in my family loves the taco burgers. The salsa is so good! (Mad at myself for not remembering to bring some back to Chicago with me). This location is always super clean. The workers greet everyone who comes in and thanks you for the visit on your way out. I highly recommend! Food and service are consistently good. read more

While the Georgia St location is my favorite location in Amarillo because the food is always fresh, I was really disappointed tonight when I pulled into the drive-through at 9:40 PM to order a Guadalajara and was told that I couldn't order because they were already closed. I eat here all of the time and I know that they close at 10 PM so I was pretty frustrated. read more

I'm writing this review in behalf of my father, my dad had gone in and ordered two soft tacos, curly fries and cheese. The food had come out and the order was wrong so he had sent it back saying it was wrong, the employees had gone back to fix it, they put the fries to make him think they had fixed it. He came home and opened the sack and found they didn't fix the order and had lied saying they did. This was a terrible experience and my father was unhappy with service and the order. read more

When we lived close to this place - we loved it. Especially when Candace was working the drive thru! She always brightened our day. Always for the food right and it was fresh and hot! I loved dining there - was always so quiet and cheerful with all of the yellow in the interior decor - I often worked there just for a chance of scenery from my home office. Why is this location going downhill??? I eat here several times a week and unless Candace is there it is terrible!! Order is constantly wrong!! When you order extra anything they charge you for it but they never add it to your order. You say no cheese and they put cheese and sour cream on your order...the item does not even come with sour cream!!! Then they leave off all the ingredients that are supposed come on the item!! I mean, the bean and cheese burritos speak for themselves! I can't come through Amarillo and NOT stop in!! I'm pretty sure Taco Villa is the only reason I could afford to eat as an undergrad in Lubbock lol. Say what you will about fast food, this is a staple in Amarillo. When I come back home, the nostalgia trip Is not complete without a stop here. So, looking past the nostalgia, the food is a cut above the other drive-thru Mexican joints. I get the chicken softacos & a bean burrito. Love the fact that they use really good tomatoes. Taco Villa is a ok fast food restaurant with the standard Mexican food; tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tostadas, nachos and a nice surprise of taco burgers and fries. They put a whole slice of tomato -whether it be on your taco, taco burger or tostada. They're a bit pricey for the serving size you receive. Staff is friendly. read more

Taco Villa WTF has happened to you???!!! Have not eaten at a taco villa in a number of years since don't have where I live. Flavor was not good. Worst part was the meat burrito that was dripping orange grease out of it. Could not bring myself to take a bite. To bad got thru drive thru and down I-40 or would have gotten money back. Could have thrown the meat burrito on the wall and watched it slide down the wall to make my point. Looks like TV is trying to get fancy with all the salads and desserts. Should have stuck to what they did best. Tacos, burritos and taco burgers. Sad sad day if all the Taco Villas are like this. I went through the drive-through. Everything went great, except for the creepy voice of the drive-through lady. I was putting my change away, while still at the window and the employee asked me if I was OK. I said yes I'm fine and continued putting my change away. Then another employee came to the window and asked if I was OK, there wasn't a car behind me, so I figured I can take as long as Wanted. Anyway, you better leave the window as soon as possible or the employees will continually rush you the heck out of there. read more

I've visited Taco Villa before on prior passes through Amarillo, but not this particular location. With it being only a mile or so from our hotel, we headed there for a late night take-out meal. Arriving with only 5 minutes to spare before closing on Friday night. our order taker was very friendly and not only repeated our substantial order back to us, but even remembered who ordered what. A few minutes later, and the order was completed with a smile from the kitchen staff. Nice. When we unwrapped everything back at the hotel, the order was complete and correct, and the taste was great. Guadalajaras featured tasty guacamole and crisp tostadas, and combo burritos had nicely spiced ground beef and refried beans. If there was a complaint at all, they could have used more sour cream. All in all, some good fast food Tex Mex grub. Stop by if you're in the area! read more

I lived here 30 years ago and taco Villa was the go to place for drive thru ... cheap ... but really good Mexican food. I've been there two times since I've come back and both times have been dismal. I love to order the combo burritos and I add everything to them. Both times now the burritos have been cold inside and the meat has tasted horrible. I'm so disappointed and sad because it was so popular long ago and the quality of the food is so bad now. Wow. Not sure why this is the highest rated place in Amarillo. Maybe all the other reviewers are stoners or high school kids. Orrr maybe just that first chick :p I was also thrown off by the multiple billboards we passed for this place, stating "All Your Friends are Here!" None of the chicks on the advert looked like my friends (they depicted middle-aged white women in various stages of excitement), but Frank and I were too chicken to get Thai food in Amarillo, so we stopped here. The billboards were misleading: this place was full of high schoolers. The interior was suprisingly spacious. I liked the guacamole on the Guadalajara. Prices were cheap, too. Cost less than $10 to feed us both. It had an abbreviated little salsa bar, and management made rounds to ask how everyone was doing. But as far as Mexican fast food, it's not even at the top. Taco Casa and Taco Cabana are better (lol @ the 'Taco "Spanish name for dwelling" formula for naming these places). read more

mmmm I miss this place so damn much...I was at a soccer game last weekend, and someone got a taco salad that smelled EXACTLY like the taco villa chicken salad. Fuck. One Grande MEAT burrito costs $3.75. Seriously? I realize that this is fast food and they are selling you a "Big Mac Taco", but it so isn't in line with what you'd pay for a higher quality burrito from Lupita's Tortillaria or any other number of taquerias in Amarillo. Of course, those taquerias don't have drive-through windows and though they work quickly and get your food made fairly fast, they are so popular that there is always a significant line. Also, there aren't any in convenient locations outside NW Amarillo, so I sometimes go here for overpriced, below average (for the area) Mexican food rather than make the trek out to NW Amarillo where I have to get out of my car and wait around in a crowded dining area for my to-go order. read more

The best food I have ever eaten! I'm not big on Mexican food but my husband and I was there visiting and we stopped in and we enjoyed the food so very much. Taco's, sopapillas & burritos the best we have ever eaten. Lady named Wendy was the sweetest and most caring lady we have ever met. Two days later we carried some friends and they loved it & they loved Wendy also. We are from West Monroe, La and our friends are from Albuquerque, we met up there to visit for a few days. This was a sweet stop on the memory lane of my Thanksgiving-day trip to Amarillo. Combo burrito with green sauce and a Guadalajara just as good as I remember them. I think there must be some kind of mood enhancer in that green sauce! It put me in mind of New Mexico and the chile culture there (thinking homemade green chile and potato burritos from the gas station in Capulin). Wonderful ripe red (!) tomato slice crowning the guacamole on the Guadalajara tostada. Slight interior and exterior remodeling, including a few tables with those swiveling amusement park seats welded to the table. I could fit my old fat A&& right in these and not be pinched into the table top, unlike other places that use them. They really do keep their customers' comfort in mind. Only negative was the employee who parked himself in front of the beverage dispensers ignoring the customers waiting to fill their cups. read more

I have been eating here since Regan was in office, possibly before. It's one of the few places I crave now that I'm not living there. You seriously can'y go wrong with anything you order. I personally always order the Deluxe 'Chos with extra peppers. They come with these tripped out heart shaped chips. Like life in the 'Rilla, some things just cannot be explained. Be careful when you open the pre-packaged hot sauce...just saying. The only reason that it doesn't get the full 5 stars is because I swear they raise their prices every year. This is one of my favorite inexpensive lunch spots. I haven't tried anything here I didn't like. The inside is always clean, the employees have exceptional customer service, the food comes out quickly and efficiently. I have never had them mess up on an order except once, in the drive thru they forgot a burrito. However they quickly made things right, were apologetic, and even gave me a free apple burrito (which was delicious)! I know this may not be a big deal to others, but I love their fountain drinks. Its SO rare to get good carbonated soda these days. At most places they're flat or just taste like carbonated yuck! I don't get soda that often but ALWAYS get sprite or a coke here! Taco Villa has got to be the best fast food Mexican resultant in the Texas Panhandle the staff is always nice and inviting! I usually always have to go at least 1-4 times a month. I don't have any complaints about them besides the there floors are not the cleanest sometimes but I don't really care. The hygiene is good and you can see them prepare your food sorta behind the counter. My favorite Taco Villa restaurant is the one off of I-40 and Georgia! My favorite employee there is Candance she usually runs the Drive-Thru! If you want a Fast Food Mexican Restaurant, Taco Villa is most likely the best choice! read more

Loved this fast casual concept. I think it is a local chain but I'm uncertain. Ate the taco platter and a side of chips with salsa. The tacos were perfectly crunchy and a good serving of ground beef, delicious cheese and topped with a slice of tomato. Included beans, rice and lettuce. I also enjoyed the salsa fresca from the salsa bar. Not too spicy. Very clean with employees seeming to constantly cleaning tables. They also served beer and margaritas but I did not order one, so I can't comment. I wish we had one or two locations in Phoenix! read more

Absolutely love taco villa, but be careful at this location. Our credit card was charged for 2 different amounts at the same time and when we went back for them to correct the charges, they gave us the run around. They wouldn't reverse the charges, or give us a cash refund. We had just eaten and they made us take it out in food, their choice! They acted like we were trying to scam them even after they found the charges. Will never return to this location! read more
