I took my favorite dress shirt for laundry clean and lite starch. I was disappointed when I went to pick it up and the collar was as dirty as it was when I brought it to them. I asked why seemingly no attempt was made to clean the collar and was told the collar was dirty from hanging in their store for the past 3 weeks. At that point I felt insulted by being told such a ridiculous reason for them not to have done their job. I've been taking my clothes to that location for at least 40 years, but these past 18 months the service has been poor. read more

Warning! They ruined an expensive blanket of ours. I loved the fact that they would come pick up from my house but that unfortunately was the only good part of this experience. They sent my throw blanket back to me smelling like a wet dirty dog. So they came back to clean it again but they couldn't fix this awful smell they created. So then the co owner Bendia called me saying she wanted to smell the blanket the herself and see if she could fix it. So then calls me back days later saying this smell was a "human odor smell". I was so offended that she was actually going to tell me this! I DIDN'T send this blanket in because of a smell I was just sending it in for an annual cleaning. I have had this blanket dry cleaned before as well as the three other ones I have just like it and never had I had this issue. I was just trying to save a trip with kids to the dry cleaner. Then when I told her I did not send the blanket in because of a dirty smell. I only sent it in I like to get my blankets cleaned often because that's what you should do and it's a dry clean only blanket. She then proceeded to tell me that she didn't believe that's why I sent it in and blamed me for this nasty smell. She offered nothing back to me not even the money that I wasted on having it cleaned, I thought for sure she would replace this blanket, but she told me she would never do that. Beware! They ruined an $1800 sport coat of mine. They shrunk it so badly that I was never able to wear it again. I only got to wear it one time. I brought it into them right away and they told me it was the fault of the people that made the coat for me. Keep in mind I had it custom made for me in Italy. I even provided a photo of what it fit like before I brought it to them. They took no accountability for it at all. I lost all my money and I will never go back to them again. I recently lost weight and went to get clothes tailored. I do not recommend if you lost a significant amount of weight. Their expertise is not at a level that can handle those type of alterations. They are also greedy. I think they take on services knowing they won't be able to accommodate. And do not pay cash and I highly recommend paying with a credit card so you can dispute it with your bank because they will literally have no empathy, especially when it comes to your money. read more

I had a 2-piece men's suit and my wife's dress cleaned and it came to $51 dollars, wtf. I've mostly come to Widmer's for rug cleaning and they always do a great job! Sometimes it can take a while to get it back, but i think it depends on how many others they need to clean--also rugs probably take a while to dry. It's nice that there's usually a coupon on the website for a discount on the cleans! I recently brought my wedding dress here for a clean after the wedding day, and I couldn't be more pleased! It looks sparkly and new, and they seemed to have fixed a piece of the bodice boning that popped out after dancing too hard. I knew I could trust them with one of my most precious possessions. Would NOT recommend to anyone wanting to have their purse or wallet cleaned. The only thing they successfully accomplished was wiping the grease off of the top of the wallet. We were told that they ship the purse and wallet off to a third party for cleaning and could clean the interior of the purse. It seems that they didn't even attempt to do so. The purse had additional staining on the inner pocket which was not there originally. We were told it would take 2 weeks to receive the items back. They returned them in a week- the purse looking equally as bad as it did when dropped off. When asked if they even tried to clean it they said we could write a complaint and try to have them clean it again. No money off, $130 that could have been spent just buying a new purse (which is what we did because this 'cleaning' was so atrocious. 0 stars. Literally could have just said they couldn't clean it. Total freaking scam rip off. NEVER again. Said it'd be around $75- $133 for GARBAGE. read more

A few weeks ago, I got colored chalk on a dry clean only white jacket and thought it was lost forever. Nothing I tried could get the stains out, so I took it here. They got all of the stains out a reasonable price (probably a bit more expensive than most but worth it). All of the staff members I interacted with were very kind. My only complaint is that I was supposed to be called the day after my jacket was dropped off to notify me if they could help, but I never received a call. When my jacket was done, I also never was notified. I had to call myself to see if it was ready. Besides that, I would definitely come here again. read more

Bad neighbors! I can't open my windows unless I want to hear their employees literally YELLING at each other during break time EVERY DAY. Also, thanks for being a constant source of litter. We all enjoy picking up your employees garbage as it blows into Working from home for past two days. Rude, combative, EXPENSIVE. I had a suede jacket with a bad stain on the sleeve. I brought it in and pointed out the stain. When they had finished they didn't let me know that the stain had not come out, I discovered that and was astounded that not only were they going to do nothing about it but insisted loudly that I pay the $44.82 they charged me for attempting (and failing) to clean the jacket. They finally agreed to try again. I called their customer service and their attitude wasn't particularly helpful until pressed. I run a business and sometimes things go wrong. When they do here is my BIG secret for keeping customers happy: 1) Apologize that something went wrong (This actually costs you $0!!!!) 2) Think of and offer a remedy 3) Implement remedy & make sure it is done correctly 4) Give some kind of token/gift to the client to show good faith and that you do want their continued business 5) Do not argue with the client, do not act as if the client is "the enemy" (Profound Truth: enemies don't usually give you money) 6) Make it as graceful for the client to continue to do business as you can. They did deliver the garment with a Huge festoon stapled to the front of it where I had indeed signed a paper saying I acknowledged that they can't get out every stain. Yes, they were right, I did sign that. I did not sign a paper saying that I would pay an outrageous price for a botched job or that it was just fine not to do the job well and still charge me full price. This is my festoon to them. This is the second time they failed to get out a stain but they have charged me full price each time and been paid in full by me. I will never ever go back there. Ever. read more

I dropped off three dresses (2 long) and a pea coat. I was told to pick them up Monday. On Monday, I received a call asking for more time. A week went by and I hadnt heard anything, so I called to ask if they were ready. The response was, "Yeah, you have four things just sitting here." When I went to pick them up, the bill was $192.81! I was in complete shock. When I commented that it was significantly more than I expected and more than I've ever paid for the same service, the clerk responded "Yeah." I just moved to Cincinnati and hadn't had a chance to take my dry cleaning in for several months- I had a lot of it. I drive past Widmer's on my way to and from work every day so decided to give them a try. My experience was bad from the beginning. When I walked in there were two people behind the counter with customers- neither of whom acknowledged my presence. Finally Pam finished with her customer and acted bothered to have to wait on me. As she saw the pile of clothing I placed on the counter, she made no comment. I joked that it had obviously been a while to which she snidely responded, "you may not know we're quite pricy..." I was shocked. Professionals know better than to make assumptions about people based on their looks (and I look young but am well groomed and more than capable of paying for dry cleaning!). She didn't look at any of my items and didn't ask any questions. I pointed out stains on two of my items to which she responded by pulling out a liability form and berating me for removing the care instruction tags from some items. I should have left then. When I went to pick up my items, 2 were missing- no one realized this until I asked about them. They were still waiting to be pressed. I was promised a call when they were done. It never came. When I stopped in a week later I again had the extreme pleasure of having Pam wait on me, well after she ignored me upon entering the store - and for several minutes while she worked on something behind the counter. She continued to be downright hostile through the entire interaction. If the quality if the work had been fantastic I could overlook poor service, but both of the items with stains were still stained when I got them home. I'm not going to bother going back to ask about it. I won't be setting foot back in that store. Their loss- I easily paid my more than $200 bill. read more

I dropped two winter coats of at Widmer's to be cleaned. One was in bad shape - a cream colored pea coat from Banana Republic. It has gotten quite dirty the last time I wore it, and seemingly I thought stashing it in a closet was the thing to do. Fast forward to who know's how many years later, and I find the coat in a closet at my mom's house. Widmer's asked me to sign a waiver in case the coat was damaged in the process. Fine with me, since it was either going to be cleaned or written off as a lost cause. Much to my surprise, the stains were removed (without causing any damage) and the coat looked fabulous! Additionally, they replaced a missing button on the other coat I dropped off. I had actually mentioned the missing button to the woman when I dropped the coat off, then told her to not worry about it, since I remembered I had an extra button at home. Widmer's replaced the button (with a matching one from the coat's designer) free of charge. It was pricey. Having two coats cleaned ran me about $42. But they were both nice coats and well worth the cleaning bill. read more

My first experience here was extraordinary. I had an emergency alternation experience the day before my best friend's wedding. I was the Maid of Honor and the dress that I bought online was so large that it was falling off of me. I had just arrived in town from Chicago, IL and I first visited the Buttermilk Pike location. The ladies were prompt to greet my Mother and I at the door. Unfortunately, the seamstress at that location was not scheduled that day and so the ladies kindly suggested calling the Madison Road location, which was a godsend. The woman on the phone said yes within moments and asked how soon we could bring the dress to her. When we arrived, the seamstress was in a fitting already with another customer, so the girl at the counter suggested we go next door and grab some coffee from BonBonerie. (yum) When we came back into the store, she had me try the dress on for her and she pinned it to my form. I was so thankful because I was worried that she would simply ask how many inches we needed taken in and ship us on our way. That was not the case, we had good conversation and we discussed the issues with the dress and the bust line. She then offered to have the dress done an hour earlier than she first quoted. I couldn't have been happier with the experience. Later that day, we picked up the dress and off I went to the rehearsal dinner. The dress fit like a glove and the Wedding was beautiful. I had a dress altered here, and when I came to pick it up, I stood in line waiting to be helped for 30 minutes. There was one other customer in the shop, and there was another check out counter, but the cashier stood there and looked at me, then walked away as if I wasn't waiting to be helped. About 5 minutes later the employee returned, but once again pretended as if I wasn't there. When the only other customer was finished and left, the other employee also pretended as if I, the only other person in the store, wasn't waiting in line. After a couple of minutes I got her attention and she asked if I needed something (what else would I have been waiting in line for!?!?). I walked away very annoyed but with my dress, which I tried on at home only to find out the hemming had been done incorrectly (the bottom in the back was slanted diagonally...). I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for good customer service and good quality. I won't ever be coming back. read more
