Absolute nightmare of an experience from start to finish. First, the staff attempted to refuse my undergarments--at a wash-and-fold service--before reluctantly backing down and accepting them. Next was the ridiculous pricing: charging over $80 for a simple 16-pound load is complete highway robbery. The final straw was pickup. I was given only half of my order. When I returned to retrieve the rest, the employee first claimed she couldn't find my clothes. Once she finally located them, she had the audacity to accuse me of not paying. I was holding my paid receipt the entire time. Why would staff have released the first half of my order if it hadn't been paid for? Zero organization, terrible customer service, and extortionate prices. Do not waste your time or money here. read more

I took my Canada Goose coat here to be dry cleaned and it came back with water stains on it, along with some kind of brown stain. I immediately took the coat back to them and told them I would not be happy unless all of those stains were gone. They agreed to clean the coat again. A week later (and me always have to call them since they never called me when they said they would), they said that the coat is no longer wearable (so they destroyed it) and that they would be filing a claim. The coat was almost 2 years old and in excellent condition and when the claim came back, they only agreed to pay 50% of what I paid for it. read more

New customer just moved into the area and was told that this was the place to go. Brought in some of my husband's shirts to be cleaned and two expensive Restoration Hardware curtain blackout panels. Made sure with the manager upon dropping off that these panels would be fine, as the care label says "dry clean" only. One of the blackout panels were completely melted when I went to pick up. To which the manager said was not their fault and they weren't liable for. Again, no one advised there could be any issues in dry cleaning them or I wouldn't have left them. After they ruined them they advised that this just happens sometimes with blackout curtains if they've been exposed to sunlight. No reimbursement was given. Not a great first impression. read more

I took three short sleeved silk blouses, one long sleeved silk blouse, and one a long, open front cashmere cardigan (all of them second-hand purchases) to be cleaned. I believe the $56 dollars I paid to have these five items cleaned exceeded what I spent for them. I don't mind paying to get quality items cleaned, but that was steep! I asked about coupons or a discount for paying up front., but no such luck. Honestly I was expecting the total to be around $30.. I was not provided with an itemized receipt and was also unable to find any price list inside the store OR online. Needless to say I won't be back. read more

I was laid up and couldn't use my regular laundress. So I tried Widmer, now the folks were friendly, but I was displeased at how they defined my bath mats as a rug, they are not area rugs. Then they called a simple throw pillow a cushion. Again it didn't come from furniture per second, but weany little pillow. $100.00 for those three items. Outrageous. My usual laundress charged $25. 00 for cleaning them. Shaking my head. I called and told the lady it was excessive. I mean really a couple rubber backed mats quantify as are thugs? I think they need a sewing dictionary and learn the differences. I have contacted the BBB. We will see what happens. read more

I had a couple wool rugs picked up to be cleaned. I noted with the driver that there were stains on them (hence the need to be cleaned!). 4 weeks later, and I had to call to nag the driver to schedule them to be dropped off. The stains were still there. Multiple phone calls to inquire about the cleaning process, and why the stains were still there, and no one returned my call. Waste of $100 to be without my rugs for 4+ weeks, and have them returned looking like they were not even vacuumed. read more

A recent transplant to Cincinnati; one of my key neighborhood essentials is a quality, reasonable dry cleaner. I was hoping to find that in Widmer's. I was mistaken. 2 men's dress shirts, 3 dresses and one silk top cost $82 (the duvet that I dropped off was an additional $29 as well). I was charged $26 for one dress My silk top had a ribbon tie that detached and I was charged another $1.40 for a "belt". When I questioned the amount to the manager (there was no receipt initially) she printed the receipts and just said "sorry". She was nice about it; but as a new customer (who now obviously has an issue); I would have appreciated a discount or coupons to retain my business. I will not be back as I simply cannot afford their prices. The search for a decent dry cleaners continues..... Edited to add.... A few days after I picked up my dry cleaning; I received in the mail $30 worth of various coupons to Widmer. I'm not sure if this was in response to my reaction in-store or standard for new customers (there was no note). I won't be using the coupons; overall their service is still expensive for me on a regular basis. read more

Ruined 4 curtains. They insisted they were able to clean them so I allowed them to do so. Weeks went by and they kept saying they weren't done yet. They finally admitted they messed them up and were going to try to fix them. They eventually said all but one had holes in them. I demanded my money back and had to threaten calling BBB. They told me I was blackmailing them. Reluctantly sent me a check for $400 which is only half of what the curtains actually cost me. Went to hang the one curtain that was supposedly fine only to realize they folded it so I couldn't tell it also had holes all in it! I will be contacting BBB. These aren't good people, don't use them. read more

I am writing this review to ensure that others are aware of the extremely unfortunate and dissatisfactory experience I recently had with Widmer's Cleaning Service. Let me start by saying that my family and I have been loyal customers of Widmer's since early 2000's, including carpet shampooing and drycleaning needs. I recently contracted with them to clean all the carpets in my home. We are unsure if what occurred was due to operator error, equipment malfunction, or both, but after the cleaning, my carpets were left with large black streaks and blotches in them, and an oily residue was left on its surface. I immediately contacted Widmer's who sent out another representative the next day, who instantly agreed that my rugs looked ruined and that Widmer's would do whatever was necessary to "make it right". This gentleman cleaned the carpet for the second time, with a slight improvement, but still not an appropriate result. After a few days, a supervisor came to my home and "assured me Widmer's would make this right" and cleaned my carpets for the 3rd time, but again not to my satisfaction, and the oily film was still noticeable. I continued to communicate with them, hoping they would make it right as they had indicated. I received a call from the owner of Widmer's following the third clean who was extremely apologetic, affirmed my dissatisfaction, and informed me that they would do whatever it takes to rectify the situation. Yesterday, Widmer's contacted me again, to send out even ANOTHER representative. Unfortunately, I was not able to be at home, and my carpets were cleaned for the 4th time, with an industrial cleaner, which I did not authorize! Each time these rugs were cleaned, the color had changed, the integrity of the rugs is now not what it was when the process started, and the residue is still noticeable. The owner of Widmer's has now informed me that they will do nothing further for me, will not compensate me for permanently impacting the quality of my rugs, and told me some of this is normal wear and tear! To add insult to injury, they promptly cashed my check that I had paid them for their "service", so in actuality I have compensated them for this fiasco! My concerns are many - my home has been in disarray for quite some time waiting for this situation to be reconciled, my rugs have been forever changed, but more importantly, I counted on the owner of this firm to be a man of his word and to satisfy a customer who has been quite loyal, as he promised he would do. Unfortunately, I have no idea of the long-term impact of this oily substance - I can only assume it has seeped into the fibers and the underlying pad of the carpet, not only nullifying my rug's original warranty, but also catching dust and dirt even more quickly and then of course, noticeably. I am here to remind you that there are many local, reputable cleaning establishments in the greater Cincinnati area, unfortunately Widmer's is not one of them. We have had success with having items altered at this location. However, I would not use them for their dry cleaning services.

I took a sweater here for repair. It was fine, but for the price I would have thought it would have been much better quality. It was a cashmere sweater and I gave them the sweater thread that came with it. I don't think they used that. Instead I got a lumpy knot in the middle of my sweater. You can very clearly see where the repair was made. I have had sweaters repaired several times before at a sweater store in Pittsburgh and I think next time I will send it to them because I basically cannot wear the sweater without a broach or something to hide the hideous "repair" job. read more

Took my clothes to this Widmers location because I thought they were one of the best in the city, and my thoughts were proved wrong. I dropped my clothes off on Friday and told they would be ready on Wednesday. Went to pick items up on Thursday and only to find out that only part of my order was done so now I had to wait again. In conclusion to this the most expensive item that I got cleaned was ruined. The shirt can never be worn again and the company is stating its not their fought and will not compensate me for the shirt, and to top things off the manager nonchalantly told me that one of my shirts got lost and they couldn't find it. Please don't go to this location if you want to see your clothes again the manager Lisa is very rude and not caring at all. I'll be sure just to use a regular cleaners next time. read more

I dropped off a $400 dress, just to be cleaned. It had no visible spots or stains anywhere. Just sent in for a regular cleaning. When I got it back, they told me it had "pulled color" on the skirt and the dress was completely ruined. It had spots on the front and back where the color in the dress was completely taken out of it. They gave no indication when dropping it off that this was even a possibility, or I wouldn't have left the dress there. Didn't compensate for any of the dress. Don't go here. read more

I brought my coat in for cleaning and to have a button sewn back on. I brought the button that fell off the coat with me but when I picked it up they had sewn a different button back onto it. They didn't bother to tell me that they had lost the button I brought in. The one they put was on old and beat up and fell off the same day I picked it up. When I called they "promised to make it right" but when I came in they told me I could go buy new buttons that they could sew on so they would all match and basically that was all they could do. They told me it was cleaned and sewn at a different location but you represent everyone in your company regardless of who does the work. Such an embarrassment of a business read more

Terrible. Over priced and can't remove stains. Took 3 pair of pants in for stain removal, the girl marked the stain. When I picked up she said nothing. There was no note attached. I paid full price, no discount for items not fixed (paid almost $9 a pair). So I had no reason to believe that the stains had not been removed. Got home and went to wear the pants and realized that none of the stains had been removed!! So when I returned to let them know, the lady told me that I should go buy some oxyclean! No offer of a refund or coupon, no offer to put it right in any way. read more

WHAT A BIG COSTLY MISTAKE! I went to this location because it was convenient to another store I frequent in the same building. I took in three pairs of jammies to simply have the elastic in the waist replaced and one pair of linen pants to be hemmed. The bill came to almost $75.00?!!! What the heck! The lady at the front desk was rude when I nicely questioned the amount thinking they had made an error. She assured me that was correct and don't forget the 3 cents she added with a condescending tone. When I said something like $75.00 for elastic in three pairs of pants and a hem is crazy money she got a snotty attitude and tone repeating the amount. A woman, who was obviously the manager, just stood in the back and gave me a crappy smile. Well, I told them they could keep the pants because I wouldn't pay that amount of money. They didn't make any effort to try and resolve the situation. They both just stood there and smiled at me like I just crawled out from under a rock. It's my personal belief that they were trying to rip me off because they knew I was new to town. I will make sure to tell every person I know in my community about my experience. read more

I dropped off a pair of jeans to be hemmed on a Friday afternoon and was told they wouldn't be done until the next Friday at 4pm. I came back the next Friday at 3:30pm and they weren't done. I asked about them and the woman who was going to hem them was very rude and told me they wouldn't be done until 4pm. She hadn't even started them. Talk about last minute. There are plenty of people who provide this service in Hyde Park so I won't be going back to Widmers. Service with a smile (and no attitude) please. read more

I brought some old dresses I've been wanting to sell. They each needed to be cleaned and had minor repairs. I was very happy with the service and price. I was greeted and offered great service.
