They were off today. Understaffed and not to the level of services you'd expect for the price. We had a party of 6 and, as such, had to pay a default service charge of 20%. While on vacation in Myrtle Beach, we definitely wanted to try out a seafood spot, and Wicked Tuna was not only able to fill that but also provide seating for our large group of 14! It's a huge space (multiple floors), so definitely a good spot for a group. They have a large variety of seafood options, and my personal favorite was the bang bang grouper appetizer. It was a good size to share, the fish was only very lightly fried so the fish flavor/texture still came through, and the sauce was super flavorful. For my entree, I had the prime scallops over pea and mushroom risotto. The flavors were very bright, but the scallops and risotto were both over cooked. Ben tried the lobster trio, which was definitely a good sized portion of lobster for the price! As for the drinks, the cocktails were all really good (pictured is their cucumber cocktail which was super refreshing & the jalapeño margarita which was actually really spicy) & quite strong as well. The restaurant also has a decent wine list that has bottles at really affordable prices. Interestingly, service at tables was better & faster than bar service. One negative I will state is that the ambiance doesn't necessarily fit the prices paid for the food. When spending that much money, I would expect a cleaner, nicer restaurant compared to the ambiance of Wicked Tuna. They also describe online having a rooftop bar (which we went early to check out), but it's just their third floor regular bar in a fully enclosed space. Overall, this place was fine & definitely gets bonus points for being able to fit our large group for a day-of reservation, but I would likely only go back for appetizers/drinks. I know that sounds petty but his entire demeanor was just off. We weren't one of his gym bro's. Yummy! We were looking for a good seafood restaurant for the family and this was great! We loved the views and they had a kids menu which was helpful. They were very accommodating with our seating and my sons sushi order. The drinks were great and we tried lots of different dishes and they were all delicious. Normally, we love this place, however, we visited in December and we were scammed. We were there for happy hour and the bill came out to 136.00, however, when I checked my bank account later that week, we were charged 256.00!!!! We tried to dispute it, however, we couldn't find our receipt. The food that night was definitely not worth $256.00. The nachos that I got even had salsa that had gone bad. The salsa tasted acidic. I'm surprised I didn't get sick. I know they were about to close for the season, so maybe our waitress was trying to get an extra $100 tip since she would be out of work . So, I hate that we were scammed because we actually love coming to wicked Tuna. The ocean front view, the good food....I know that this was probably an isolated situation of wait staff needing extra money, however, the next time we visit, we will definitely make sure we pay with cash so that we are not scammed again. Wicked Tuna is a solid place to visit. First off: if you are upstairs in the bar area, don't request a seat in the first row next to the windows. If you sit there, you will be looking at metal bar. It's a very odd choice to put regular tables there. The high top tables give you the best view of the beach and the ocean. I had the spicy shrimp and grits plate. The grits and sausage were good, but tasted a bit cool, which makes me think they were precooked. The shrimp was hot and tasty. It was a good dish overall, but I'll probably get something different next time. I really enjoyed the sushi. The California roll was spot on. They have a wide variety of seafood to choose from. You can also order several chicken or steak dishes if seafood isn't your thing. The drinks are good: the wicked pineapple was a solid choice. They have live music in the bar area on some nights. When we went, there was a talented acoustic guitar player. We were literally right next to him, but the music was not too loud. It added a nice touch. I wouldn't come here for a gourmet steak meal, but for seafood/sushi, drinks, a great view, and a good time, Wicked Tuna is well worth consideration. read more

Me and my husband have been coming here for about 2 years when we visit on vacations. The foot, drinks, and environment are spectacular. However, the most recent visit we had a rather off putting server. We had reservations for 5 booked days in advance. When we arrived we were put in the back of the restaurant where the sun is literally beating on you. We all literally started sweating when sat down. I asked the hostess if we could move because of it. She said no all of the tables are booked out and that theres nothing they could do. How about not making a table in the back of the restaurants with no views of the ocean and not place people where the sun is DIRECTLY on them.
