For the price you get a small plate of food. Steak was tasteless and chicken was super thick and flavorless. The rice was clumped up and had spots of white from when it was still white rice. The veggies were soaked in some sauce and were soggy. Two stars for the service and how fast the food came out. Also, the sauce that seemingly help boost the flavor of the plate but not really. The price of the Hibachi Tofu (vegan) has remained at $13.50 for the last 10+ years that I've been coming here. The tofu is very crispy and it is so irresistible that it's worth daydreaming about. The portions are generous, you will usually end up with leftovers. Mulan is a sticky no-frills counter that is open late. This place was a MB staple for a really long time but the last time i ate there was the last. Everything is served on styrofoam plates, miso soup in a pint to-go container that was incredibly bland compared to prior visits, and a cooked baby roach in my food that wasn't noticed until I went to eat my leftovers. We purchased the teriyaki chicken dinner $9.99 which had no teriyaki on it. The scallops were $19.99 and I received about 7 whole scallops they were cut into fours so it looks like you get more when they fall apart. I order from Nagano's in Socastee you receive about 20 for $16.99 and they are amazing. They charged .50 each for hot sauce yet the cups were not even filled up but half way. Another late night run to the WM Super Center, ho hum... Upon leaving I spy a sign that merely said "Mulan". WTF. That tells me nothing. Upon further inspection we see the sign is broke and should say "Mulan Japanese" Chan, my wife, is elated. "I would love some rice." It's 10:58. We better hurry. We hurriedly pull up to the door Sunday 11am-2am WTF?!? And it's PACKED. She gets her standard Hibachi Steak and Shrimp. I get me a 6 oz bottle of Saki after her encouragement that she'd drive. I love this place. The price is amazing for hibachi food compare to New York. I'm happy that I did not have to break bank for my favorite fried rice , veggies , steak and chicken. I love the guy who takes the order very friendly and funny. The chef stove top is right next to register so you can seen everything. Casual dining. You can grab your food to go or dine in. This place is wonderful , what you gonna do when you're hungry after midnight and the only choice you've got is Mcdonalds or maruchan ?! Mulan comes the rescue ! They open til 2 am and for someone works late or have the munchies after 10pm , this is the place to go ! They have good sushi rolls and they give you plenty of food for almost half the price at most hibachi restaurants,and you don't have to sit with strangers or wait for the chef! The hibachi steak here has always been great. The carrots that come with it are a bit sweet and I like that. The dining room here is spacious and has a lot of booths. The walls and windows are a bit greasy. Overall this is possibly the best hibachi place I know of. read more

I eat here often and the staff is always a pleasure. The quality of the food is also great. I just have an issue with the quanity. I always get the chicken and shrimp plate no vegetables. For anyone who doesn't know when you don't get vegetables with your bowl you get an extra helping of rice. My issue is with the quantity of shrimp that they provide I get a lot of the rice as well as chicken however, the shrimp is always little to none in the bowl. Again the quality of the food is there but the quantity of the shrimp lacks. Numerous times, I visited the restaurant and each time it seems like I get less and less shrimp. I've decided to not visit again because if I pay for a chicken and shrimp bowl then I deserve both chicken and shrimp equally on the plate. read more

Wu (owner) is Hilarious And he makes his own Siracha using his home grown chili peppers, but never mentions it. 3.) open late, like 2 am late. They prepare the food quick, right in front of you on the other side of a glass wall. They specialize in Hibachi dishes like Shrimp, Chicken, and Steak, and have a small freshly-prepared sushi menu, which I also enjoy quite a bit. Others in my party had chicken hibachi which they enjoyed. The " fried " rice was just rice...no egg, no vegetables in it, so that could be improved.
