We had just gotten into town and stopped at the store before heading to our condo. After unloading the car and driving for over 7 hours, neither of us felt like cooking, so we decided on Melt for dinner we already knew it was good. As always, we sat at the bar and just had sodas this time. My wife ordered a salad, and I had the Cuban Melt. The food came out fairly quickly and everything looked great. My wife's side salad was very nice and fresh, and the Cuban looked excellent. The Cuban had ham, pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, and yellow mustard, toasted perfectly. The first bite was wonderful. It's a very filling sandwich I was full after just over half of it, plus the fries, and my wife finished the rest. People we've talked to at the bar keep asking if we've tried the pizza here yet saying how good it is. We haven't, but maybe on our next trip in about a week we'll give it a try for the Super Bowl. Tried Melt tonight, so good. The food was fresh, hot, and made with amazing ingredients. I had the Mango Habanero margarita and it was the perfect balance of flavor and heat. The cherry limeade was also delicious; only thing missing was a hot day and a pool. We got out of my nieces volleyball game and wanted to grab dinner before making the drive back to Charleston. It was already after 9pm on a Tuesday so we were limited on options. I saw that Melt had good reviews and was open late so we headed to Broadway. I didn't realize they were in the old Shuckers space. They did a great job updating the space with beautiful tables, a big bar, and a legit pizza oven in the middle of the restaurant. The pork belly cracklings were amazing, they were the star of the meal. I would give them a ten if I could. The red sangria was also great, as were the fries. On the other hand, the onion rings and the patty melt were only okay. Alison, our server, was quick and helpful. The drinks took a long time to come out, so long that my frozen daiquiri was no longer frozen. Food was good once it came out. The table next to us ordered well after us and got their food before us. Our table split the bacon dip that was very yummy but hard to eat since the cheese was very clumpy and hard to separate and even harder to do using the pita chips it came with. But still very good. Waitress informed me that they messed up my order because they read our ticket wrong in the kitchen and added mac and cheese. I told them I'd try it to see if they could avoid remaking my order. My husband and I went here after a long day at Broadway on the Beach. We were 1 of 2 families in the whole restaurant. For an appetizer, we shared the 'Bacon and Onion Dip' which was caramelized, onions, cream cheese, bacon, served with naan tandoori. It was really good! The only downside is that it came out with the entrees so we did not have much time to enjoy it. For our entrees, we both got pizza. My husband got the 'Margarita' pizza which he said was delicious and I got the 'Baked Potato Pizza' which was white sauce, olive oil, roasted red skin potato, caramelized onion, bacon, cheddar/ jack cheese, green onion, sour cream. It was good, but very salty. I personally could not handle much of this pizza. I did bring it to the hotel and heated it up a day later but still too salty. We also tried the 'Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding' which was good but VERY sweet as you can imagine. I am glad we shared it. Overall, the service was quick since there was no one there and friendly. As soon as we were seated the waitress stopped by for our drink order and to check on us, very upbeat and happy given the slow Monday and the weather that could have been better. Another supreme, extra cheese and basil added, not recommended, they have plenty of cheese on their pizza to start. Don't get me wrong, it was still a great pizza, extremely filling, I ate 3/4 of it. Went for dinner twice in the same trip. Their location is unbeatable compred to other overpriced places on broadway on the beach. Their woodfire pizzas are definitely worth a try. The place is also very reasonably priced especially compared to other touristy places around that charge way more.
