I ordered takeout from Rapone's over the weekend, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The service at the restaurant was great. I was greeted promptly and warmly, and the bartender quickly gathered my order, including a slice of cheesecake that looked too good in the front display to pass up. Even though my order was to-go, the atmosphere inside the restaurant stood out. The space felt relaxed and comfortable, not overly loud even though it was more than half full. A gentleman was playing soft jazz on the piano in the corner at just the right volume, which added a really nice touch to the overall vibe. But the food is the star. I ordered the Vegetariana and the Margherita, and both were excellent. The brick-oven crust had the perfect texture: crisp and lightly charred on the outside with a soft, chewy interior that held up beautifully under the toppings. The Vegetariana was loaded with mushrooms, olives, roasted red peppers, and fresh greens over a bright tomato sauce and melted cheese. The toppings were generous but balanced, and everything tasted fresh. The Margherita was simple and classic, with fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil. The ingredients really shine in a pizza like this, and it was outstanding. And the cheesecake absolutely lived up to the promise from the display case: rich, smooth, and dense with a buttery graham crust. A perfect finish to the meal. After a long day, we were a bit too tired to eat at a restaurants so we decided to get a pizza to go. After reviewing the options online, Rappone, Brick Oven seemed the logical choice. You can smell the smoke from the pizza crust as soon as you get out of the car, which is even more pronounced when you walk into the restaurant. My pizza was waiting when I arrived, but the dessert display looked so good, I had to add a large piece of chocolate Cake, and a servicing of Tiramisu. The Margherita pizza was cooked perfectly and tasted even better. The crust was dark like we like it, and the fresh tomato based sauce and fresh Mozzarella were amazing. The chocolate Cake was fresh, moist, with Creamy icing and delicious. The wife typically does not like Chocolate cake, but she loved this one. The Tiramisu didn't disappoint either. We got the pizza for an appetizer, a special of ravioli with pink sauce, homemade lasagna, and chicken parm. The ravioli was by far the best tasting thing we got, but all the food was so good. The owner is very friendly and really cares about his customers. I'm lactose intolerant so he told me no worries, we cook on demand! Our fave pizza place at the beach was closed when we visited in August, so we took the opportunity to try someplace totally new to us. The reviews looked good and it was really close to our building. Our server was very funny and helpful with menu choices. There was also live music for a little bit when we first arrived. We each got our own pizza with the intention of taking some home for the next day. One of my sons did not accomplish that mission because he wanted to finish it while we were there (he's 15 and his metabolism is stellar right now). I really enjoyed the spicy oil drizzled on top - a suggestion by our server, and it was a VERY good meal and experience. Having gone to the same place repeatedly for over 10 years, I don't think the kids were upset with our unexpected change up. After debating which of the several Italian restaurants we would choose for dinner, Rapone won out based on menu variety and reviews. I'm glad we did the research because the food was excellent. My mom had a pizza which had a delightfully thin crispy crust and plenty of sauce and cheese. I chose the Chicken and shrimp Marsala that was a special and it's was also very tasty. My sister and Dad chose lasagna which they said was delicious and my daughter chose the other special which was tortellini and shrimp with sun-dried tomatoes in a buttery lemon broth. I tasted hers and it was my favorite. Our waitress was great and the atmosphere was pleasant. Fresh bread was brought to the table as we needed it. One concern I had before choosing was the fact they had a live piano player which worried me that it would be too loud. We were seated within 10 feet of the piano and surprisingly it was a soft sound that added nicely to the ambiance without preventing us from hearing each other in conversation. We tried the Sweet and Spicy pizza. If you don't care for spice, ask to leave the cherry peppers off. The pizza has a wonderful crisp and chewy dough topped with pepperoni, sausage, soppressata, fresh mozzarella, shredded mozzarella, San marzano tomatoes, and a wonderful drizzle of honey to balance out the pizza. This spot drew us because it has brick oven pizza, but when we ordered we also go their pesto pasta which I have to say is probably the best I've ever tried...even compared to some I had in Italy! So creamy and rich yet not overly so worth the perfect blend of sauce to pasta. And the pesto was supposedly vegan with no cheese added. Either way it was worth it Unforgettable! The pizzas were also amazing and they have lots of variety for putting on your own toppings or getting one of the house specialties. This might be my go to Pizza place when I visit Myrtle Beach. We read how great the reviews on Yelp and decided to give them a try. They only open from 4 to 9, so we got there when they opened, we were the first ones there and their dining room filled up quick, it's not a large place. They also have a Baby Grand Piano where someone was playing. Our Server Lauren came over and warmly greeted us. We ordered several dishes besides Pizza (See Pics) everything was fresh and homemade, it came out hot too. We had a great meal at this classic Italian restaurant! Our server, Beth, was lovely and helpful with menu suggestions. We started out with a good bruschetta appetizer followed by salads with their signature dressing. The dressing had a great tang and was seasoned perfectly. For entrees, I loved my rigatoni rosata; the sauce was wonderful and clearly made with care. The folks I dined with spoke highly of the bolognese and classic cheese pizza; I tried the latter and loved it (and found myself craving it later). The fresh bread was great, too. This is not our first time eating here and there is a reason we keep going back. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. We thought it was busy but they were able to seat the two of us right away. There was a live piano player but thankfully he was not so loud as to overpower any conversations. We tried the special appetizer of the night which was a fried ossobuco rice ball that was amazing. My wife and I shared a tortellini carbonara and an Italian style pizza. Both did not disappoint and they were accommodating with our sharing the meals.
