Great sushi! Great atmosphere! The best deal is the $65 for two. Our favorite! We've only been to the Broadway location

We come to myrtle every year and we've been here twice and both times the sushi was fresh n tasted good. Waitresses are nice, I have nothing to complain about.

While on vacation, our son found this place so we drove to check it out. We were able to be seated quickly which was very nice given the late time of the day we came. The server was nice, but did provide enough detail and when the food arrived, it was okay. Our son had some problems with the food as the order did not come out correctly and they had to bring out some different rice. Beware that they will add gratuity automatically for parties of 6 or more. I do not prefer this and "IF" I saw the sign, I would have chosen not to stay. Automatic Gratuity is a sign that THEY decide that your service was good. Rule of thumb for me... if gratuity is required for X or more in a party, I will take my business elsewhere. Because you provide a sub par service, doesn't mean you earned it. Recommend? Only if it is the only place left open.

I wish I could give this 5 stars because the sushi at this restaurant was absolutely delicious, I got the california rolls and crunch rolls. The service was a little awkward in this place, there was a weird energy and our waitress seemed to be angry. The atmosphere was very cool in here and I'm sure on another day it would've been just fine. I still recommend, the food was really good.

Came on a Sunday afternoon in October when Myrtle Beach has considerably less tourists so there was no wait, and hardly anybody in the establishment. Server was attentive and great. The sushi was delicious. There were plenty of TVs inside to watch my NFL games as well. I had three meals at Broadway on the Beach during my Myrtle Beach stay and King Kong Sushi was my favorite.

Food is excellent - chef cuts signature sushi rolls so they are not a-bite-it-to-eat-it or stuff-your-mouth-with-one-piece sizes. So you get more thinner pieces. Flavors are good, texture perfect. Ambiance and service great. Cost is consistent with location (Myrtle Beach). Overall excellent dining - we go whenever we come here.

Delicious!! My husband got some sushi, I got the hibachi, we were both very pleased with our meal. The prices were also very reasonable in my opinion. Staff was excellent! Definitely stop here if you're in town looking for sushi or hibachi!

Delicious, I'll definitely be back. The sushi was amazing, I recommend anything with tuna either in or on it. The only problem I had with the food is that the calamari was not the best I've ever had. Other than that the experience was great. The waitress was really nice and the atmosphere was good, just your classic sushi bar.

Super yummy food, good service, and great view! We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and were surprised that there weren't many people here. We opted to sit outside and got a great view of the water and Wonder Works. We started out with the edamame and wings - both super delicious. The wings were very flavorful with a tasty sauce on it. For my meal, I got the tuna poke bowl. They let you choose a few different toppings, which were all super fresh and tasted great. Overall, prices were very reasonable as well, and I saw they had a daily happy hour on the sign outside!

With tons of options, there is something for the whole family to enjoy. King Kong Sushi is located at the busy Broadway at the Beach venue but there was no wait for us to grab a table. The server was great and gave personal recommendations for menu items. The ambiance is a little odd but eclectic nonetheless. We ordered the bulgogi sushi roll and the volcano roll which were both delicious. The volcano roll comes to the table on fire to help slightly cook the roll which made for a unique experience. The price was pretty typical for your everyday sushi joint.

Food was great overall, very cold and servers could be better. But great food and well thought out environment.

Starting with the positives: the chicken and mac & cheese sushi roll was actually really good. It's definitely a unique combination, but it worked and we were pleasantly surprised. We also liked that you could see the beach from inside the restaurant, which made for a nice atmosphere. Now for the negatives. From the moment we sat down, we didn't feel very welcomed. Our server seemed annoyed that our party of six sat at a booth, even though two of those seats were for our 2-year-olds who were sitting between us. It really wasn't a full "six adults" situation. We originally wanted to order the mozzarella wontons, but were told they were sold out of mozzarella, so we took the server's suggestion and ordered the chicken mac & cheese sushi roll instead. When it came out, we actually thanked her because it was good and we were glad we tried it. When we ordered appetizers, we also ordered the kids' meals right away. Our appetizer came out, then we placed our dinner order: two burgers and two sushi rolls. The kids' meals came out first, which made sense since we ordered them early. Then the two burgers came out. The problem was that the people eating the burgers were basically finished with their meals before our sushi rolls ever arrived and we noticed other tables who ordered sushi after us were getting theirs first. We weren't given any updates about the delay, and when we asked about it, the explanation didn't make sense considering other sushi orders were coming out before ours. By the time my sushi finally arrived, everyone else at our table had already eaten. The kids were getting restless and we needed to leave, so I ended up asking to have my sushi boxed up instead of eating it there. The service was honestly the most disappointing part of the experience. Our server felt dismissive and irritated throughout the meal, and at one point my husband had to step in because of how she responded to a friend who was simply raising concerns about the food timing. I was really excited to try this place, and I'm honestly glad we didn't go here for my actual birthday dinner two days earlier, because it would have been a very disappointing celebration. Between the lack of hospitality and the poor service, it just wasn't a great experience for us.

Now I'm probably one of the harshest critics when it comes to sushi. The sushi options are decent for the all you can eat but was standard in the opinion of this sushi snob The egg drop soup, gyoza and squid salad was great! The rice did not appear to be made with rice vinegar as it tasted bland. I also wish they had some more flavorful options. The service was good as we were seated right away and did not have to wait long for food. They consistently came and replenished orders one after the other. My favorite was the mackerel nigiri as it was fresh and melted in the mouth. My recommendation is to try and have some rolls that incorporate more of a citrus flavor and or ponzu sauce.

It was well worth the drive all the way down to Surfside. The lumpia is rolled to order and he has some creative ideas for nontraditional lumpia filling. The rice was cooked perfectly and the siding was masarap! It was so good I ended up getting a second order to go so I could have it again for dinner. They are only open from 2 - 8 pm on Wed - Sat, so my wife and I made it a point to go there around 3 on a Thursday. We were the only customers during that time, and got to speak at length with Mike, the co-owner. We really enjoyed it, though their pricing could be altered to be more consistent. The plaza and surrounding area isn't much to look at, and the Grille is not visible from the road. One really has to make an effort to get here. We really liked how the inside was decorated, with a mishmash of Filipino culture on one side (including a pretty good mural of Manny Pacquaio) and a large nature scene (painted by Mike) that gets added to with cinema characters when he gets inspired (examples being Chunk from the Goonies, Sebastian from the Little Mermaid, and my favorite: Frank Dux from Bloodsport). There is even an official arm wrestling setup at one of the dining tables, inspired by the movie 'Over the Top'. Drinks are strictly cans (soda for $2) and bottles. The menu is very focused, nothing too complicated, and very tasty. They were out of the wings and burger that afternoon, but we were here for the Filipino entrees so there were no issues. Lumpia Meal ($13.99) - comes with your choice of three lumpia and rice. What's a little disheartening is that the price of the meal is actually higher than if you ordered the items individually ($11.96 : lumpia and one scoop of rice are all $2.99 each) Regardless of the reason, that's not a consumer friendly thing at all. I really liked the variety of the lumpia, which had been fried very well (crunchiness is always good). The gyro was different, with the side of tzatziki sauce adding a lot of flavor. My favorite was the TNA (Taters and Adobo), the mix worked really well. What I thought would work well (the bulgogi mac n cheese) was OK, probably because there wasn't much filling or flavor. Chicken Adobo Meal ($13.99) - no pork adobo today, so got the chicken. It was OK, decent flavor, but small amounts of chicken breast. We added a pork skewer for $2.99. It had been glazed with banana ketchup and grilled over an open flame. Street BBQ Skewers ($13.99) - liked the pork skewers, so got three more in a meal. It has the same addition problem (individually priced, it adds up to $11.96, less than the meal). The meat pieces on these seemed even smaller, and some of the cuts were grisly. Mike did suggest I get the small fruit salad for dessert ($1.49) and it was good. Reminded me of halo halo, except smaller and without the beans. Lumpia is definitely the thing to get here.
