We recently tried ART Burger Sushi Bar and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience overall. Starting with the positives: the chicken and mac & cheese sushi roll was actually really good. It's definitely a unique combination, but it worked and we were pleasantly surprised. We also liked that you could see the beach from inside the restaurant, which made for a nice atmosphere. Now for the negatives. From the moment we sat down, we didn't feel very welcomed. Our server seemed annoyed that our party of six sat at a booth, even though two of those seats were for our 2-year-olds who were sitting between us. It really wasn't a full "six adults" situation. We originally wanted to order the mozzarella wontons, but were told they were sold out of mozzarella, so we took the server's suggestion and ordered the chicken mac & cheese sushi roll instead. When it came out, we actually thanked her because it was good and we were glad we tried it. When we ordered appetizers, we also ordered the kids' meals right away. Our appetizer came out, then we placed our dinner order: two burgers and two sushi rolls. The kids' meals came out first, which made sense since we ordered them early. Then the two burgers came out. The problem was that the people eating the burgers were basically finished with their meals before our sushi rolls ever arrived and we noticed other tables who ordered sushi after us were getting theirs first. We weren't given any updates about the delay, and when we asked about it, the explanation didn't make sense considering other sushi orders were coming out before ours. By the time my sushi finally arrived, everyone else at our table had already eaten. The kids were getting restless and we needed to leave, so I ended up asking to have my sushi boxed up instead of eating it there. The service was honestly the most disappointing part of the experience. Our server felt dismissive and irritated throughout the meal, and at one point my husband had to step in because of how she responded to a friend who was simply raising concerns about the food timing. I was really excited to try this place, and I'm honestly glad we didn't go here for my actual birthday dinner two days earlier, because it would have been a very disappointing celebration. I was in town for the weekend. My hotel was very close to this restaurant, so I checked it out after walking around the neighborhood. My server was Teniia, she was very friendly and super professional. She checked don me often during my visit. I went with the Munch burger. There were many burgers to choose from but I am glad I went with this one. The fries that came with it were also good. I came back to this restaurant the last night of my trip and tried the sushi. I got the Zach attack and surprisingly it was also good! A restaurant that does both good burgers and sushi, that's rare! I had a beer on my second visit, while the beer menu isn't as large the IPA oi ordered was decent. Overall, great experience here and some good food to be had. read more

This is one of my favorite finds on Yelp. I was looking through a suggested list of places, and I looked up this place here on yelp, and the pictures looked so good, so I decided to try it. It was better than I had hoped. I had a hamburger cooked in duck fat, I did substitute barbecue sauce for the mustard that was on the menu. It was quite honestly the best burger I've ever eaten. Absolutely delicious! The service was very friendly. From the waitstaff to the cooks, and everyone who was on shift that day. I will say, when I walked up to the place, I was a little concerned I had been bamboozled. But once I was inside, the art and decor was vivid and striking, I was very glad I chose this place and would absolutely go again. read more

My granddaughter tried their burger and rated it a 9.5/10!! Service was great as well! IMPORTANT INFORMATION: if you park in the paid lot across the street from this establishment, make sure to pay BEFORE you go in. Even in the off season or when the lot is empty! The owner contracts with a company that rides around on golf carts looking for anyone that hasn't paid. They will then put a boot (of sorts) on your whee and a sticker on your window. It directs you to a website where you'll have to pay well over $100 to get the code to free your wheel!!! I was literally in the restaurant for 45 minutes total and 15 min prior they locked my wheel. I called the police department to ensure that it wasn't a scam and they confirmed it was legit and would need to be paid. BEWARE!! read more

This is a unique place. It looks a bit like a dive, but it's not. You can sit in the restaurant, at the bar, or on the patio with a nice view of the ocean. My wife and I chose the patio, had drinks and dinner while enjoying the nice view. I had a burger and she chose sushi. They have some very interesting combinations of burgers: I went with bacon, bbq sauce, and Mac & cheese. Good stuff! The fries were ok, but tasted like they had been premade and sat for a bit. I'd recommend ordering the fries extra crispy or well done to be sure they are hot and fresh. The sushi was solid. It's a kid friendly place, but they do have some odd art work posted in the bathrooms including a near naked mermaid and a gorilla throwing up the middle finger - lol. The concept is pretty cool, but could be executed so much better. Art on the walls and tables was fun. We came as a family of four for dinner in July and were promptly seated near the open air kitchen. IT WAS HOT. We immediately noticed that it was incredibly warm, but we were hungry so we "tried" tough it out. We got a chicken sushi roll that was topped with mac and cheese, it was interesting and tasty to start. The cocktails were alright. My husband liked his burger and the kids liked their meals. There is an in house photographer who takes a picture or 3 of your group at the table, mind you now dripped in sweat. They come back moments later with a free picture and then try to upsell you on photo packages. It was very odd for a burger joint... Due to how hot it was though, my 3 year old started to feel faintish and unwell and my husband and he went outside for some air and my older son and I finished up our meals..leaving most of my son's meal uneaten and my husband didn't have a chance to have his fries.. Of course, in true restaurant fashion, when we wanted our check, the waitress was nowhere to be seen. When she finally emerged, she stayed behind the bar chatting with coworkers. At this point and with them waiting outside for us, we just really wanted the check and some to go boxes. I had to get up and approach her at the bar for them. The artwork in the walls lends a super cool touch and are for sale by local artists! Our server was friendly and attentive, and made our experience with her interaction. We both ordered burgers and enjoyed them. I got the Scream burger which was cooked perfectly medium well. The Mac and cheese on the burger was creamy and delicious. Overall, it was a good burger and I would order it again. The fries that came with it were seasoned well, but were a bit lukewarm and needed another minute or so in the fryer to become crisp. My friend had the Munch burger which was cooked medium. She stated it was also really good. She got the sweet potato fries, but was brought regular ones. They fixed the mistake and brought the sweet potato fries, which could've used a toss in cinnamon sugar to add flavor. We would come again, but likely if we were in the area. The food and atmosphere were good. I had the Rockwell burger which is like a regular American cheese burger with the normal toppings and hubby had the Art Burger. I ordered mine medium rare which came out perfect which doesn't happen often at other burger establishments. My husband liked the Art Burger but wasn't a fan of the walnut chutney. Also shared the Tiger Rolls and it was yummy!! Don't go there for the beer options as there are only a handful of domestic and a few local beers. Visited this spot during Father's Day weekend. We went around the 3:30 mark and it was pretty dead, which was great for us being a party of 6. Beautiful Artwork EVERYWHERE! You have the option to buy the oil paintings as well that range from $50-$200 My husband and I started off with some drinks, I got 2 of the Art Cruisers and he got the Raspberry Iced Tea & Spiced Mango Tai. Both AMAZING, 9/10. It was the right amount of booze and juices. I unfortunately did not take a picture of our appetizers which was the Fried Calamari and Pork Belly Bites, both were really good. Calamari was flaky, crispy and cane with a nice horseradish sauce on the side. Pork Belly Bites came on a bed of garlic aioli and it was tender and had nice coating of sticky sauce. For our entrees, I got the Volcano roll, which was 8 pieces topped with a spicy crab salad, stuffed with fried shrimp tempura, cream cheese and avocado. My husband got The Dali burger, topped with avocado ranch and fried pickles. We both thought our entrees were perfect. Our server (I wish I had not forgotten his name) was PERFECT. He was very knowledgeable of the menu, gave great recommendations, was patient and very kind. Automatic gratuity I assume for a party of 6 or more, we tipped on top of the gratuity, he was THAT GOOD. Cons: The in house photographer that takes pictures of couples/group. Kind of odd from a burger place. They give you a free picture but then try to upsell you to get framed pictures for like $25-$75. The photographer was super sweet and I felt bad declining the offer but I just did not think it was necessary. The menu is PRICEY. The quality of the food is great and it IS MYRTLE BEACH. I noticed that being a trend for things being on the pricier side. Just be prepared to spend at least $125 here if you get Drinks/Apps/Entrees. (That's just for two people) Overall, we are 100% going back and I hope that same server is there when we go again! read more

Went to ART for dinner. We seated ourselves, and a waiter came over to tend to us quickly. He was helpful with suggesting which sides we might try. They have an issue with people walking in off the street to use their restrooms, so you'll need a code for those. There is art all over the walls, which appeared to be all by the same artist, and it is incredible. Most of it is for sale. I ordered the Dali burger and onion rings, and it was very yummy. The fried pickles on the burger were so good. We had made a reservation for a Sunday evening at 5pm for 10 people. We walked right in and there was only one other table being used. Our server was very un knowledgeable.. she did not know if they had root beer, she forgot drinks, then lemons..then kid menus. The menu specifically says that the onion ring appetizer comes with 10 onion rings. We ordered two orders of those. The first one came out with seven and the second one with five. When we made a complaint, she brought out another one of five. If they are not going to bring out the same number every time they just need to change the menu so that it is not so specific.. We were excited to go there because we were told there was art by local artists for sale. There was only art by one artist all over the walls and bathrooms. Despite having a kids menu, many of the art pieces were not family friendly. My son who enjoys sushi immensely liked everything that he tried. The rest of us say don't waste your time. read more

I had read the reviews on Art Burger but I couldn't believe a small burger place could be that great so had never been in. The off season is the perfect time to visit. The small patio with its cheery red metal chairs is overlooking the ocean. There's not a better view anywhere ! The burgers were delicious, even the Surreal Burger (Beyond Burger), They also have excellent sushi! It was fun to look at the original art for sale--quite the range of heavy to light in subjects. Also, the WiFi is great!I think Art Burger is a must-visit at the beach. read more
