New Englander smoothie bowl
Jenny C.

I didn't realize that this spot would have so many healthy options! It looks like a converted Arby's, a very fast food feel, but the menu includes things like wraps and sweet potato toast, which I'm curious to try. They also stock locally made products, like Fully Rooted juice/kombucha and Hank's protein peanut butter. I came during my smoothie/açaí bowl research and since I'd already had one açaí bowl that day, I opted for the New Englander bowl that was unique in its inclusion of coffee flavor. It came topped with chocolate chips, banana, and granola. Although several places in RI also serve smoothie bowls in cylindrical plastic bowls, I find them hard to eat- if you try to mix in the toppings, they all spill out. Something shaped like a cereal bowl would be more ideal. The consistency was a little...slimy?...which is fine if drinking through a straw but weird on a spoon, but my biggest concern was the granola. I asked if there were almonds in it because I have an allergy, and even though they said no, it looked like I could see almond slivers in it. Maybe it was just been an illusion, but it made me very nervous, so I took the granola off and ate the rest. I'd probably come again if I lived nearby (their breakfasts sound really good!) but only to get food to go; it's not the kind of atmosphere I'd want for, say, sitting alone reading a book. I liked the variety of their menu-- I would just want to verify the ingredients of the granola before I ordered another bowl.

Food is great and service is efficient. They are very nice and don't mind answering any questions. If you need some meal prep meals and want to eat healthy, this is the place!! Hidden gem

Creamsicle Overnight Oats. SOOOO good.

Wicked Fresh is just what Johnston needed. As a lifelong resident, I've always struggled to find a place that caters to the health conscious population. Finally! A place that I can get a meal from and not feel guilty or question what kind of ingredients are being used. Wicked Fresh is located across from the old McDonald's on Hartford Ave. Through the years, I've seen so many restaurant fail in this location so it is truly refreshing to see something thrive. It's a cute little place with a drive thru. Parking is limited. I wish this place opened earlier and closed later. I believe it opens at 8am and closes at 7am Monday through Saturday. 9am on sunday and closes early. Guys, I'm not a business expert but I feel like there are sales to be made! Especially since, people have sundays off and hit the Planet Fitness down the street early! I'm an early bird myself and try to get my workouts in before I go to work. So, I can't come here as much as I'd like to. I wish you guys opened at 6!! The food itself is tasty. I've had smoothies, meals, breakfast items, wraps, and most recently the overnight oats. From what I've tasted, the menu items are REALLY good. I loved the creamsicle overnight oats, so delicious! but... I think it's a bit overpriced for how much you get. Otherwise, the price points are solid. This place is soooo much better than Bgood and far more inexpensive. The staff is friendly and fast. I'be never had a bad experience here. Definitely worth a visit, or two, or three... Just one thing... Could you guys PLEASE open earlier?! :)

Excellent lunch spot. Ive always been looking for a quick lunch place that just has grilled chicken and veggies as a plate. I have only been this once and got the grilled chicken and broccoli over rice. I really enjoyed it. Not fantastic but did the trick as healthy and freshSaw some people at other tables with smoothies and the smoothie bowls. They looked good as well. Ill be back to update review more.

Incredible, best Caesar Wrap around. So I stepped on the scale the other day and let's just say that old Saul needs to lose a few holiday pounds! So my grandson told me about Wicked Fresh, he tells me it's delicious and healthy, so naturally I think it's too good to be true. There's no fooling Mr. Rosenberg I said to myself! I stopped on in and ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap with a Chunky Monkey protein drink, and boy was I overwhelmed with delight. I've been eating all my lunches there ever since. The flavor, the texture, the appeal! Left me full but craving more. I've been coming back for lunch every day since I got my first taste of health food greatness. Mrs. Rosenberg says I look like a young Jack Dempsey! So stop on in and tell them Saul sent you!

Checked out Wicked Fresh Cafe to help me keep a New Year's resolution of eating healthier & cleaner. The staff was friendly and helpful. The menu is pretty big, something for everyone. Ordered the Heavenly bowl with lots of fresh fruit & coconut milk. It was delicious and filling. There's a great assortment of wraps and salads and don't forget a smoothie. They also offer meal prep which you can order online or with their app, as well as call them. Spend $50 and they'll deliver. My experience was pretty good. Will definitely return and try a week of meal prep for healthy lunches.

I'll be a bit short and to the point on this review. I was looking for some good salad, so I decided to stop in here since they left flyers at our gym. The arugula salad wasn't horrible or great, just very bland and underwhelming. I'm willing to spend 11-15 dollars on a salad, but this wasn't worth it. It was as if someone went to the store bought a few items and threw them together quickly. The portion size was small for the amount paid and the mozzarella was flavorless. Two stars because it is cruel to give one star unless deemed necessary.

I love this place and wish there were more healthy options around. I get all my meal prep here for the week. Their smoothies are amazing too - The California Way is my favorite. They are offering curbside pickup as an additional option right now. My only complaint is that they are not open on Sundays. I want my food to be as fresh as possible and don't want to order on Saturday for the whole week. I end up having to order on Monday and use my entire lunch break to pickup.

Onions after I asked twice for no onions and checked at the window as well...

Great fresh flavors and guilt free. Great place to power up before the gym or recover after or to hit up on a rest day. Highly recommend

It was definitely on the sweeter side, which I liked, but might not be for everyone. The cashier was super sweet and friendly and drinks arrived quickly. Throughout the morning there was a steady stream of customers, but I didn't notice anyone waiting too long. It wasn't the quietest environment for working since there is music playing all day, but I didn't have meetings so noise wasn't a problem. After working for a while, I decided to get lunch as well. I love the avocado toast here because it's always flavorful and reasonably priced at $6 for 2 slices. It did have a decent amount of red pepper flakes - not an issue for me but something to be aware of for anyone who doesn't like spice. This also arrived quickly and was on a cute colorful plate.

I brought some of my roommates and we ordered a selection of pizzas. I had been here a few weeks ago with my Lord of the Wings coupon so I already knew I was in for a good meal. It was the first time for my group so I was excited to introduce them. We got an order of the pretzel sticks to start and they were great. I was busy yapping with Keith at the bar when they arrived so no picture of that lol Our pizzas arrived and we dove in. We got the Italian Sausage Margarita, All About That Pig and a black olive pineapple pizza. My group mates really liked the pizza. The pig pizza had an awesome Carolina Gold BBQ sauce on it (my favorite style), the sausage went fantastic on a margarita, new flavor combo unlocked! And the roommate that got the black olive pineapple pizza inhaled it and said that This Guy's Pizza is Two Thumbs Up all the way for her. I really love the texture of their crust, it's a delicate kind of crispy and yields to a pleasant softness. I noticed it was 1. modern and 2. clean. (But I also noticed that there are 2 steps as soon as you walk in- just a heads up.) Our order: Thai Chili wings 1 ham & cheese empanada Water juice diet coke Cheetos And it only cost $6 (Keep in mind we had the wing coupon) But it's also 2025 and I LOVE that they are not price gorging the customer! 1. The empanada: 2 were in our bag! I liked their empanada. Cooked just right. The ham was tiny little cubes and it wasn't oozing with cheese that it's messy. It was just right! 2. The wings: I liked the wings. I do think they aren't fresh but if they were in my neighborhood I would order from them every so often. The thai chili was standard. The owner walked in. Another super friendly greeting! He was super chatty and I learnt that they have only been open for 6 months. I also learned that they have a few more flavors not currently posted on the screen- so ask! Overall: I am rooting for this place!

So we took a chance. And we were not at all disappointed! First, we were greeted warmly, in a genuine way, by the owner. They seemed genuinely glad to have us. The older gentleman was friendly and playful towards my son. The food was delicious! I had enchiladas with housemate mole. The mole was fantastic: complex and nuanced. My daughter had enchiladas verde, which was smothered in a poblano salsa that was also complex, with great green heat. My son ordered the arracherra, a peppercorn rubbed steak served with homemade guacamole and a delicious cactus salad. I was tempted by several other dishes, particularly the enchiladas mineras (beef cheeks - yum!). All in all, a warm, welcoming, delicious experience that made me want come back. And I will.

But I'm someone that believes anyone can have an off day so overall this place is really great. First and foremost, get the margarita. They are the best I've ever had. Also, get the tacos. Even as an app they're so great. I got the shrimp and a veg recently. I've enjoyed all of the entrees I've ever gotten. Honorable mention is the shrimp Diablo. Super spicy and delightful. The interior is warm, cozy, and a perfect combo of lit enough so you can see but dark enough to set a mood for spilling tea or flirting with your date. Equal parts good for girls night and good for date night. The not so great: I got flautas once and they fell flauta (haha). Also, it's sometimes a one man show so service can be slow especially if you need refills so be sure to order multiple drinks at a time, or better yet a pitcher. Street parking can be a real pain but sometimes you get lucky on a side street. Definitely worth a visit if you've never been!

From the start, the vibe was welcoming. The owner is an absolute gem. He took time to chat with us, explained where the name La Eskina came from & shared his love of Lucha Libre, which adds such a fun, personal touch to the place. You can feel the heart behind the food! We were there as part of the RI Food Fights #LordOfTheWings challenge. They offered three wing styles: plain, mole & buffalo garlic. I went for the mole (because when else do you see that on wings?!?!) & hubby chose the buffalo garlic. The mole sauce was rich, deep & complex, a perfect balance of savory with a hint of sweetness & spice. The buffalo garlic had that classic kick but with way more personality than your average wing spot. You can tell these are coming from a Mexican kitchen, not just a bar fryer. Complimentary chips & refried beans were provided with our drink order. Can we talk about the beans for a second? Outstanding! Comforting, flavorful & clearly not an afterthought side, loved the sprinkle of pico de gallo on top. Also, the chips did not go to waste. I happily took leftovers home & I'm already planning to turn them into chilaquiles for brunch this weekend. That's when you know a meal was good: it inspires the next one!
