New management has completely redone the café, and the difference is incredible. The space is bright, clean, and welcoming, and they focus on high-quality, often organic ingredients. They offer great breakfast and lunch options, smoothies, coffee, and other beverages, plus gluten-free choices like their protein bites (the date and cranberry ones are amazing). I ordered a bunch of wraps and salads for my niece's party. The wraps were 90% wet iceberg lettuce and 20% meat. The assortment of wraps had all the same issue -- gross. WFC should be ashamed putting together such terrible sandwiches. Everyone took a few bites and tossed them in the trash and i then ordered pizzas (elsewhere). The salads were loaded with fresh kale on the bottom and layered with various topping and came with dressing in a separate plastic container in each salad. I didn't realize that this spot would have so many healthy options! It looks like a converted Arby's, a very fast food feel, but the menu includes things like wraps and sweet potato toast, which I'm curious to try. They also stock locally made products, like Fully Rooted juice/kombucha and Hank's protein peanut butter. I came during my smoothie/açaí bowl research and since I'd already had one açaí bowl that day, I opted for the New Englander bowl that was unique in its inclusion of coffee flavor. It came topped with chocolate chips, banana, and granola. Although several places in RI also serve smoothie bowls in cylindrical plastic bowls, I find them hard to eat- if you try to mix in the toppings, they all spill out. Something shaped like a cereal bowl would be more ideal. The consistency was a little...slimy?...which is fine if drinking through a straw but weird on a spoon, but my biggest concern was the granola. I asked if there were almonds in it because I have an allergy, and even though they said no, it looked like I could see almond slivers in it. Maybe it was just been an illusion, but it made me very nervous, so I took the granola off and ate the rest. I'd probably come again if I lived nearby (their breakfasts sound really good!) but only to get food to go; it's not the kind of atmosphere I'd want for, say, sitting alone reading a book. I liked the variety of their menu-- I would just want to verify the ingredients of the granola before I ordered another bowl. read more

Wicked Fresh is just what Johnston needed. As a lifelong resident, I've always struggled to find a place that caters to the health conscious population. Finally! A place that I can get a meal from and not feel guilty or question what kind of ingredients are being used. Wicked Fresh is located across from the old McDonald's on Hartford Ave. Through the years, I've seen so many restaurant fail in this location so it is truly refreshing to see something thrive. It's a cute little place with a drive thru. Parking is limited. I wish this place opened earlier and closed later. I believe it opens at 8am and closes at 7am Monday through Saturday. 9am on sunday and closes early. Guys, I'm not a business expert but I feel like there are sales to be made! Especially since, people have sundays off and hit the Planet Fitness down the street early! I'm an early bird myself and try to get my workouts in before I go to work. So, I can't come here as much as I'd like to. I wish you guys opened at 6!! The food itself is tasty. I've had smoothies, meals, breakfast items, wraps, and most recently the overnight oats. From what I've tasted, the menu items are REALLY good. I loved the creamsicle overnight oats, so delicious! but... I think it's a bit overpriced for how much you get. Ordered the Heavenly bowl with lots of fresh fruit & coconut milk. It was delicious and filling. There's a great assortment of wraps and salads and don't forget a smoothie. I'll be a bit short and to the point on this review. I was looking for some good salad, so I decided to stop in here since they left flyers at our gym. The arugula salad wasn't horrible or great, just very bland and underwhelming. I'm willing to spend 11-15 dollars on a salad, but this wasn't worth it. It was as if someone went to the store bought a few items and threw them together quickly. The portion size was small for the amount paid and the mozzarella was flavorless. I love this place and wish there were more healthy options around. I get all my meal prep here for the week. Their smoothies are amazing too - The California Way is my favorite. They are offering curbside pickup as an additional option right now. My only complaint is that they are not open on Sundays. I ordered the Turkey Meatballs with wheat pasta and my girlfriend ordered the House Favorite. Both were good. The service was what I took some issue with. After asking if there was a calorie listing available, I was given a list of excuses and defensive responses: "We don't need to list calories legally unless we have 15 locations." "This is the second version of our menu and we're working on our third." "I can help you with calories. Hiring a nutritionist is expensive." I could imagine this set of responses if I were pushing the issue but I asked a very simple question and wasn't combative. Healthy options for a meal - or order multiple pre-prepped meals with per meal discounts based on the size of the order. Options for those who do & do not eat lean animal proteins. I ordered a tomato, bacon and avocado, spinach on multi toast I took a bite a long black strand of hair came flowing out, I was soo hungry and my friend was like "let it go" so I did, I took a few more bites and ANOTHER LONG BLACK STRAND OF HAIR was in my food, i was totally mortified and lost my appetite completely thereafter...I politely told them, and insisted I pay for it I felt bad, they came to my table and did a trivia game with my friend and DIDNT EVEN INCLUDE ME IN IT! I felt so left out, even after the hair incident. Weeks later I decided to give it another try but only for the shakes...we both ordered the green machine and it was horrible tasted like crushed ice water. Visited here on two separate occasions. I ordered the buffalo chicken on a spinach wrap and the grilled chicken on a wheat wrap. For my 2nd visit I had the chicken parm. The buffalo chicken is very bland seems like canned chicken with franks hot sauce on it. The grilled chicken is pretty good, actual cubes of chicken seasoned well. Inedible wraps. My sister ordered the chicken salad wrap and there was no distinguishable chicken at all. She described that it tasted like baby food and ended up throwing it out. I order the buffalo chicken wrap, and the chicken was so dry and overcooked that it was almost hard. The buffalo sauce was legitimately water that was pouring out of the wrap and there was hardly any lettuce. Genuinely feel like Wicked Fresh stole our money.
