The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the spice level was just right to give it a kick without overpowering the taste. Every bite felt like a culinary adventure, with the freshness of the ingredients shining through. The sandwiches are awesome and the spice level can be ridiculously hot if you are into that. Finally a place that actually lives up to my hot level... The boba and milk shakes are the bomb as well! Did I mention the waffles? It's made with a funnel cake batter. It's probably one of the best waffles I have ever had. It's a great way to end the meal. I would come for breakfast to have those waffles. Plus, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The red on black was very cool with the custom mural. If they had shirts with that mural on it, I would buy one. If you're a fan of spicy, tasty, and fresh chicken, this place is an absolute must-visit!

The restaurant itself smelled like weed. My guess is someone may have smoked up before coming by to eat. I ordered the jr sando with medium heat and it was decent. The portion size is pretty generous considering this is the jr sandwich. I also got a side Mac n cheese and it was bland and flavorless. My husband tried the bbq sando and their waffle fries and enjoyed both.

The chicken salad was good, but for a place that is named for their chicken salad, it just wasn't anything special. I had the cranberry with almonds on wheat. I asked for the bread toasted, and it was browned, but bot crunchy like toast. Not sure what that's about. For sides, I had the Mac and cheese, which was kind of meh, and the grape salad, which was the highlight of the visit. Crunchy grapes with sweet tangy dressing. Each meal also comes with a frosted sugar cookie, which was delicious. I would go back if someone Invited me, but this isn't something I would crave.

We got take-out lunch from Chicken Salad Chick, newly opened in Block 59. It's was good! My "scoop…read moremeal" (1 scoop of choice, 1 side) was about $12. My husband got a Chicken BLT meal was about $13 (sandwich, side or extra scoop) There are so many types of chicken salad to choose - this is a chicken salad lover's paradise. There is some lingo like "quick chicks" which are to-go cartons of chicken salad; so convenient! You have a DOZEN to choose from. If you're in-store, you can request samples. Also, when my husband stopped in to pick up our lunch, they were giving out red "Chicken Salad Chick" tote bags as a promotion. Here are some of their chicken salad options: 1) Barbie-Q "hickory smoked bbq" 2) Classic Carol "signature white meat, celery, mayo, seasoning" 3) Olivia's Old South "sweet pickles & egg" 4) Fancy Nancy "fuji apples, grapes, pecans" 5) Fruity Fran "grapes, fuji apples, pineapple" 6) Cranberry Kelli "dried cranberries, slivered almonds" 7) Lauryn's Lemon Basil "pecans, fresh lemon, basil" 8) Dixie Chick "onion lover's delight, only one with onions" 9) Kickin' Kay Lynne "buffalo sauce, ranch, bacon, cheddar, jalapeno, sriracha) 10) Sassy Scotty "ranch, bacon, cheddar" 11) Buffalo Barclay "craving wings? the choice for you" 12) Jalapeno Holly "diced jalapeno galore" For my "scoop meal" I chose a scoop of "classic Carol" and a cup of chicken poblano soup. My husband also chose "classic Carol" for his sandwich and a side of pasta salad. We wanted to try their classic before trying any other chicken salad flavors. We're already planning which ones to try next when we go back. For me, next up would be the "Fancy Nancy." For my husband, his choice would be the "Sassy Scotty." We couldn't wait to try this spot as soon as we found out they opened in Block 59. So many new restaurants opening in the area. We'll be back and will pick up a "quick chick" for more chicken salad!

Fried chicken was crispy on outside and juicy meat just like I remember. The fritters did not disappoint, sweet, sugary and savory. Mmmmmm nice and hot food. Based on food, that 2-star above would be a "4". It's a family-run establishment, and therein lies the reason for the 2-star mark. They have rules. Oboy, do they have rules. When you order the chicken, they bring it out "family style", and only the folks who order the chicken can sup from the bowls. They put out relishes and yummy corn fritters, but don't think you're going to get to take them along in the doggie bag. You can rent a seat for $10.41, if you don't order a full dinner; and your kids can rent their seats for $5.20, if THEY don't order a dinner. There's a "Lettuce salad" for $8.63, but only at that price if you order WITHOUT croutons. Apparently the WFF folks didn't swing when the crouton futures were favorable. For the record, "croutons" are nowhere on the menu...at any price. There was a scowling manager who reminded me of Basil Fawlty (q.v.). It seemed she was annoyed by the customers. Their policy is NO SPLIT CHECKS. That's okay, we have calculators on our fones. We were a party of four, a regular dining quartet, and it is our custom that no one picks up the entire check. Sometimes one or more of us pays cash for their portion and others have a card. We'll say: "charge each card $40, and here's $50 in cash". Round numbers, easy peasy. (which actually results in a bonus for the server 'cos the tip turns out to be greater than normal) We've never encountered a problem at any resto (who accepts credit cards) when it came to giving them payment in this fashion. O, but there was a problem here. One of our 4 didnt have any cash and needed to pay with his card, but was told "No, you can't!" The fellow with the Card was so offended, he said he was going to skip dinner, and just have a Diet Coke. But that would trigger the $10.41 "I ain't eatin'" fee. Well. It stupefies me that ANY establishment would kick back at customers wanting to pay their bill. The waitress was adamant that we could not proffer varied payments for our bill. We asked for a manager, and Ms. Fawlty sidled up to our table. They kept insisting there was "NO SPLIT CHECK", but we weren't ASKING for a split check. The ask was on the SUM TOTAL (with generous tip added). We even made the ask in "round numbers" They didn't have to do any math. I thought I was going to have to pull up an Esperanto translator to get her to understand we weren't asking to SPLIT the check. After some sprightly conversation, the loose wire in the old bag's noggin hit the right contact and then she grokked what we were proposing. I thought I saw sparks coming from her right ear, but it might have been a trick of the light. Luckily, the guy with the card could now eat. The aggregate service was fine, with the above exception, and as I said above, the food IS top-notch. Even beyond Chicken-- the Steak here is very good. My carping here nonetheless, it's a fun place to go, and you are guaranteed a fine feed. But if you're in mixed company, work out who is going to grab the tab before you sit down...
