Linguine Alfredo
Dhilip R.

Not great for vegetarians but you choose Italian by the beach can't expect to avoid seafood but it should be inclusive in this fast changing world?! Loved their elaborate menu but as the name suggests they have crazy menu sections - pasta, sushi, burgers?! Loved their linguine with mushrooms so creamy and tasty with perfect amount of cheese and garlic. The highlight was the appetizer - Fritters. Well cooked and the veggie filling was great. Wish they had more veggie options as I said earlier, but the view was great and you can enjoy meal and drinks just by the beach.

Legit the best gnocchi I have ever eaten in my life. I love pasta and gnocchi and all things like it. I like to try gnocchi when restaurants have it and sometimes it's pretty good. This was heavenly joy in my face. So light and delicious. The sauce was perfect. I'm sad we don't live nearby. We weren't planning on coming back but I am now trying to figure out when we can come back. The pesto was good too. The seafood linguine was good, but the gnocchi was by far the best. We sat outside on the beach front so the view was great. We were seated right away and the server was nice too. Excellent 5 star Italian restaurant on the beach. Go if you can, save me a seat!

On the spur of the moment while walking down the Broadwalk in Hollywood, we happened upon Why Not and it was truly one of the best meals we had on our stay. Getting a table for 9 on a Sunday evening without a reservation was surprising at 7:30. Even more surprising was our server, Stefania G- she is a super star! We were speaking Russian and English throughout and I switched to Spanish when we were ordering so she is a trooper for getting through that with her sanity. Always a smile and endlessly patient, she gets a gold star for her courage and bravery while possibly maintaining her sanity! We ordered pretty much everything- apps and salads and entrees. The star of the evening was definitely the Why Not tartar. The octopus was perfect and the flavors were solidly on point. I could have eaten a loaf of bread with what lay in the bottom of the bowl! Shrimp bang bang was good but nothing like the perfectly cooked lamb lollipops. My Pacheri Ossobuco was delicious and I tried the baby back ribs and they were fantastic as well. The skirt steak was well received by one of our party and the 1/2 dozen blue point oysters were fresh and tasty- only thing awry was the fact that they hadn't been cleaned and shucked properly. One of our party had the Greek salad with a side of grilled chicken and that went over well. Kids pasta was on the smaller side so one of the young ones went back for seconds. Calamari was a mix of rings and heads- very good with a sauce that matched. Seating was comfortable and laid back with an open beachy feel. Perfect for our night out. Only suggestion I'll make about ordering, I tried to convince our party not to put the entrees in until after receiving and eating our appetizers- the entrees came out immediately after the apps and the table got very full. I like to space the meal out a bit more to get some conversation in. But alas, the table got full and we ate our way through it. We saved our room for dessert for another place but I'm sure it would have been excellent as well. As I've said, one of the best and surprising meals on our trip! Well done!

We had a wonderful dinner at Why Not, Stefania was so friendly and helpful. She was so welcoming and helpful as soon as we arrived. She even cheered on our Salsa dancing to the live music. We sat outside at a high top table with a beautiful view of the beach. I got the bucatini cacio de Pepe and it was incredible!! My husband got the why not burger and it was huge and delicious!! Definitely recommend if you are staying on the Boardwalk.

What a find! Very inconspicuous placed, you don't see it coming. Had the why not tartare, and it was fantastic! Drinks are great, atmosphere is great, service is great. Triple triple. Eat here!

Crab Eggs Benedict Huevos Rancheros Granola with Yogurt Belgian Chocolate Waffle

Came here for breakfast! Absolutely outstanding breakfast spot! We hit the trifecta of perfection here. The Belgian Waffles were light, crispy, and pure heaven. The Crab Cakes Benedict were sublime--huge chunks of fresh crab, zero filler, and a rich, perfect hollandaise. And for a spicy kick, the Huevos Rancheros were on point! Excellent flavor, great heat, and perfectly cooked eggs. Fast service, hot coffee, and truly memorable food. This is my new go-to for breakfast! Highly, highly recommend.

My second time at Why Not in a week was NYE! We took the entire family. Again all of our meals were amazing. From the bolognese to the chicken parm...outstanding! Keep it up Why Not

Staying at St. Maurice, we saw that Why Not had good reviews, so we tried it. Nice elevated tables, with ocean view, right on the Broadwalk (also tables down on the walk, or inside) Servers were nice but probably a bit overwhelmed - took a while to get my coffee ;) Ordered Bacon/Avocado/egg on toast and Salmon/Avocado/egg on toast, with hash browns (dont't @ me about avocado toast, it was actually one of the most reasonably priced options) The bacon crumbles and salmon slices were perfect, as was the mashed avocado. I joked with the server that they needed to buy the cook a thermometer - the 'over medium' eggs were decidedly 'over well' - very 'well' indeed. Glad we didn't ask for 'over well' as they might have just been crispy eggs ;) Also, the toast was way over toasted, made it kind of hard to eat. But, lots of food (we took some back to the room) The coffee - well, for a place that supposedly has Italian roots, it was extremely mediocre - not 'Starbucks bad' but surprisingly not great. Of course, the advertised free mimosas were a plus ;) They had a help wanted sign up - I expect it's challenging to get help, so there's that. Glad we tried it, but we're here for a week and won't go back.

Linguine Cacio e Pepe

Great food, service and ambiance is the best and I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Breakfast waffles are the best I have had. Lobster ravioli, burgers, cheese wheel pasta..all so good. My vegetarian daughter always finds delicious options as well (pasta, sushi, edamame..) The view of the ocean and the broadwalk adds to the ambiance! The staff is very friendly and the owner was very interactive! After coming to Hollywood for 21 years, this newer spot is absolutely our favorite

Lobster ravioli with shrimp
Melissa J.

Visited why not on a Thursday evening. The service was quick and staff friendly. We sat outside for an ocean view which was lovely. The food itself wasn't spectacular. Wish the staff would've told us the shrimp was shelled because that would've made for an alternate choice. Didn't like having to use hands to crack the shrimp open. The ravioli itself was good and the pink sauce yummy. The fettuccine bolognese was a disappointment. The fettuccine itself was good but the meat and sauce were off. Tasted overly salty and almost reminded me of beefaroni. Overall the $70 price tag included our 2 entrees, Diet Coke and tip.

Not as good as last time. Crab burger was bland. It came to the table way before my wife meal. Fries are still great. Calamari good.

The drinks are gross and overpriced. There is nothing good to say. Only alcoholics would like the mixed drinks.

The meal starts with complimentary soup that is flavor full and perfect for dunking the focaccia bread. I do not recommend one thing since everything was amazing. But I will tell you that the steak tartare was one of the best I have ever had as well as the perfectly smoked burrata, tomatoes and red pepper. The veal Milanese was perfectly cooked and tender but the star was the spaghetti with Vodka sauce (mushrooms and prosciutto). That was outstanding. The ambiance as you enter looks classy and on the dark side. We received attention immediately and were seated in the second floor. The menu was straight forward with additional specials recited by the server. The tomato soup was complementary and it was totally delicious. We also ordered calamari and meatball for appetizers. Calamari was good but the meatball was dry - disappointed by all 4 of us. I ordered rigatoni with sausage, meatball, and short rib. It was delicious. My wife ordered chicken parm - it was OK. My son ordered the special pasta with lobster- I was told it was delicious but once we found out it was $90 , it was not nice. Definitely not a $90 dish. My daughter in law had a pasta dish with white sauce. She did not like the fact it was way too salty. We had taken a bottle of wine with $50 corkage fee. We may try to come back again some other time and try other dishes. Hopefully, the server will mention the price when reciting the specials.

Located in a plaza across from the casino, with only a handful of tables, I experienced some of the most delicious food in the area! We drive from Boca just for the vodka sauce! Service is excellent and the restaurant has a warm and cozy feeling to it - just like you're eating at a relatives house! We started the meal with their delicious fresh bread and oil and we always order the tomato and mozzarella app. Tonight we tried the meatballs as well and they were very tasty served with a side or cold ricotta. We then had the salad (the dressing is so good!). The star of the show was the entrees! I ordered the chicken parm with vodka sauce and my husband got the bone-in pork chop with the vodka sauce. DO NOT SLEEP ON THE VODKA SAUCE! The sauce is what makes me drive from Boca to Dania! The owner Lisa even gave me some to go! We look forward to going there every time! The restaurant is located within a shopping area and there was ample free parking. The restaurant is a cozy family setting. We were promptly seated. The special menu for night included standards. We placed our order: lasagna with a green salad, the fish special and pasta fagioli, a glass of wine and a beer, ended the dinner with a slice of NY style cheesecake and a slice of limoncello. The final Cost of $119.00 plus taxes. The food was good, but I was disappointed with the soup as the pasta fagioli was puréed to the point no pasta noticeable. The staff of 4 young waitresses managed to stay on top of all the tables. We appreciate Lisa stopping by our table and thanking us for the patronage.

I REALLY wanted to try the Fettuccine a la Routa - where they make the fettuccine tableside in a cheese wheel. It wasn't being served on Christmas Eve as they "were too busy." Even at 8:00 pm, the restaurant was only half full. So that was disappointing. The website also says it's based on Sicilian Italian food. So to support Sicily, I wanted to have a Sicilian wine. Unfortunately, they only offer one bottle and none by the glass. So that was disappointing. Another of us wanted a clams appetizer. No. So that was disappointing. I ended up ordering a branzino livornese which was perfectly cooked. The sides - not pasta. Asparagus and mashed potatoes - again perfectly cooked - but I wanted pasta. So that was half disappointing. The bread - DE LISH!!! The butter, however, was way too cold and tore the bread apart. So that was disappointing. My bill - $75 (and they already include the tip) for bufala mozzarella appetizer (which was SO GOOD!!), branzino and a Negroni. WAY over-priced in my opinion. It should have topped out at $60. On the plus side, the service could not have been better, and a beautiful wooden / metal horse greets you - and it is a FANTASTIC piece of art!! I'm returning to Capriccio's.
