Legit the best gnocchi I have ever eaten in my life. I love pasta and gnocchi and all things like it. I like to try gnocchi when restaurants have it and sometimes it's pretty good. This was heavenly joy in my face. So light and delicious. The sauce was perfect. I'm sad we don't live nearby. We weren't planning on coming back but I am now trying to figure out when we can come back. The pesto was good too. The seafood linguine was good, but the gnocchi was by far the best. We sat outside on the beach front so the view was great. We were seated right away and the server was nice too. Excellent 5 star Italian restaurant on the beach. Go if you can, save me a seat!
Disappointed is the word that sums up my review. After reading all the positive reviews I was excited to try the Linguine Cacio e Pepe in the cheese wheel. Maybe it was my fault because I asked them to put so much of the cheese sauce on it, but it was very salty and heavy. Barely editable. Perhaps the server should have clued me in when she was dishing up the extra cheese sauce. My husband has the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. It was pretty good but the chicken was dry and the dish was not anything special. Service was slow even though they weren't crowded at all and the atmosphere is blah. We probably won't go back.
On the spur of the moment while walking down the Broadwalk in Hollywood, we happened upon Why Not and it was truly one of the best meals we had on our stay. Getting a table for 9 on a Sunday evening without a reservation was surprising at 7:30. Even more surprising was our server, Stefania G- she is a super star! We were speaking Russian and English throughout and I switched to Spanish when we were ordering so she is a trooper for getting through that with her sanity. Always a smile and endlessly patient, she gets a gold star for her courage and bravery while possibly maintaining her sanity! We ordered pretty much everything- apps and salads and entrees. The star of the evening was definitely the Why Not tartar. The octopus was perfect and the flavors were solidly on point. I could have eaten a loaf of bread with what lay in the bottom of the bowl! Shrimp bang bang was good but nothing like the perfectly cooked lamb lollipops. My Pacheri Ossobuco was delicious and I tried the baby back ribs and they were fantastic as well. The skirt steak was well received by one of our party and the 1/2 dozen blue point oysters were fresh and tasty- only thing awry was the fact that they hadn't been cleaned and shucked properly. One of our party had the Greek salad with a side of grilled chicken and that went over well. Kids pasta was on the smaller side so one of the young ones went back for seconds. Calamari was a mix of rings and heads- very good with a sauce that matched. Seating was comfortable and laid back with an open beachy feel. Perfect for our night out. Only suggestion I'll make about ordering, I tried to convince our party not to put the entrees in until after receiving and eating our appetizers- the entrees came out immediately after the apps and the table got very full. I like to space the meal out a bit more to get some conversation in. But alas, the table got full and we ate our way through it. We saved our room for dessert for another place but I'm sure it would have been excellent as well. As I've said, one of the best and surprising meals on our trip! Well done!

No website to check out...no problem, embrace the Hollywood Beach vibe and roll with it. The food is excellent, and the service is even better. It's a unique, unassuming gem on Hollywood Beach that delivers a world-class experience. If you're on the fence, just go!
Came here for breakfast! Absolutely outstanding breakfast spot! We hit the trifecta of perfection here. The Belgian Waffles were light, crispy, and pure heaven. The Crab Cakes Benedict were sublime--huge chunks of fresh crab, zero filler, and a rich, perfect hollandaise. And for a spicy kick, the Huevos Rancheros were on point! Excellent flavor, great heat, and perfectly cooked eggs. Fast service, hot coffee, and truly memorable food. This is my new go-to for breakfast! Highly, highly recommend.
We had a wonderful dinner at Why Not, Stefania was so friendly and helpful. She was so welcoming and helpful as soon as we arrived. She even cheered on our Salsa dancing to the live music. We sat outside at a high top table with a beautiful view of the beach. I got the bucatini cacio de Pepe and it was incredible!! My husband got the why not burger and it was huge and delicious!! Definitely recommend if you are staying on the Boardwalk.
What a find! Very inconspicuous placed, you don't see it coming. Had the why not tartare, and it was fantastic! Drinks are great, atmosphere is great, service is great. Triple triple. Eat here!
Visited why not on a Thursday evening. The service was quick and staff friendly. We sat outside for an ocean view which was lovely. The food itself wasn't spectacular. Wish the staff would've told us the shrimp was shelled because that would've made for an alternate choice. Didn't like having to use hands to crack the shrimp open. The ravioli itself was good and the pink sauce yummy. The fettuccine bolognese was a disappointment. The fettuccine itself was good but the meat and sauce were off. Tasted overly salty and almost reminded me of beefaroni. Overall the $70 price tag included our 2 entrees, Diet Coke and tip.
My second time at Why Not in a week was NYE! We took the entire family. Again all of our meals were amazing. From the bolognese to the chicken parm...outstanding! Keep it up Why Not

Located on the prime spot by the Hollywood beach, this place is filled very quickly and has a wait time. We went a little early so the wait wasn't longer but maximum of 20 minutes. We did get a table outside with the view of the beach. The only thing disappointing is there weren't much options for vegetarians and not to complain seafood and meat options were plenty and that's common in a place by the water. Otherwise, food and service was good! read more
Not great for vegetarians but you choose Italian by the beach can't expect to avoid seafood but it should be inclusive in this fast changing world?! Loved their elaborate menu but as the name suggests they have crazy menu sections - pasta, sushi, burgers?! Loved their linguine with mushrooms so creamy and tasty with perfect amount of cheese and garlic. The highlight was the appetizer - Fritters. Well cooked and the veggie filling was great. Wish they had more veggie options as I said earlier, but the view was great and you can enjoy meal and drinks just by the beach. read more

One of the best places on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk! I was staying at the beach for the weekend and looked on Yelp for a place to eat. With most of these places on the beach, you expect the same types of food and not super high ratings. Why Not immediately stood out with its great reviews, so we went for breakfast. I was instantly impressed by the cleanliness, the quality of the food, and the variety of the menu. And of course with this location, the view was beautiful. I had the tres leches pancakes which were thick and fluffy, and the passion fruit mimosa, which I could tell was made with real passionfruit because there were some seeds in it. The dinner menu looked so good that we ended up bringing our family back for dinner! I got the cacio e Pepe, and fulfilled my dream of having pasta served in a cheese wheel! My family was really happy with all of their food as well. Everything was really good. If you're looking for high-quality food on Hollywood beach for any meal, this is definitely your place! read more

Great food, service and ambiance is the best and I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Breakfast waffles are the best I have had. Lobster ravioli, burgers, cheese wheel pasta..all so good. My vegetarian daughter always finds delicious options as well (pasta, sushi, edamame..) The view of the ocean and the broadwalk adds to the ambiance! Finally a nice place to get some good quality food for the right price on the boardwalk. It's a little hard to find because it is tucked between two other restaurants but keep your eyes open for the sign. It's pretty small and doesn't have too much seating but it is a lot more modern and cleaner than some of the other places on the boardwalk. I love the name of it too. They have a huge menu! So all those picky eaters in the group have to find something to like out of all the options. Their sushi was actually really good and tasted fresh. We enjoyed the surf and turf roll and typically we aren't even big on sushi! I know the burgers looked good,we enjoyed our pastas and they even have seafood. What more could you ask for? Would recommend here if you're walking around the beach/boardwalk. read more
So the food was amazing. Absolutely amazing. We chose their restaurant because it had a ramp for my grandmother's wheelchair. Their handicap ramp is blocked off by signage and tables. Luckily it was not raining so we were able to sit outside on the broadwalk. Their bathroom was broken. The staff was very nice, but forgetful. I went inside to ask for some sauce and dressing, and when I came back out the hostess asked if I wanted to sit down for lunch. So they were not exactly the most attentive, but the food was worth it, so I would still go back. They serve breakfast until 11:30 and we got there at 11:00, so we had an appetizer of fruit and avocado toast. Then we waited till 11:30 to order salads and pastas. Staying at St. Maurice, we saw that Why Not had good reviews, so we tried it. Nice elevated tables, with ocean view, right on the Broadwalk (also tables down on the walk, or inside) Servers were nice but probably a bit overwhelmed - took a while to get my coffee ;) Ordered Bacon/Avocado/egg on toast and Salmon/Avocado/egg on toast, with hash browns (dont't @ me about avocado toast, it was actually one of the most reasonably priced options) The bacon crumbles and salmon slices were perfect, as was the mashed avocado. I joked with the server that they needed to buy the cook a thermometer - the 'over medium' eggs were decidedly 'over well' - very 'well' indeed. Glad we didn't ask for 'over well' as they might have just been crispy eggs ;) Also, the toast was way over toasted, made it kind of hard to eat. But, lots of food (we took some back to the room) The coffee - well, for a place that supposedly has Italian roots, it was extremely mediocre - not 'Starbucks bad' but surprisingly not great. Of course, the advertised free mimosas were a plus ;) They had a help wanted sign up - I expect it's challenging to get help, so there's that. Glad we tried it, but we're here for a week and won't go back. read more

Why Not? truly delivered a delicious meal with perfect ambiance of the ocean, beach, & Broadwalk in Hollywood Beach.I couldn't have asked for a better dinner. You MUST try the pasta wheel. You can get a blackened Mahi sandwich in any number of places and there's usually not much difference. You won't be saying or thinking that, after having a Mahi sandwich from WHY NOT... What a great sandwich! The staff is super nice and eager to make your food to your liking. The location provides amazing beach views and all the sights and sounds of the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. It's my go to lunch whenever I'm on the beach. read more

We just landed from a 5 hour flight, was hungry, and needed food. After walking the boardwalk, we decided to eat here. This beach front restaurant was amazing! Food was delicious! Service was excellent and the vibe was great too! I'd visit again in the future! 4 star only because I had to use the men's restroom to wash my hands because the women's restroom was occupied; waited for at least 20 minutes before I decided to use the men's restroom to wash my hands. read more

The service was impeccable! We flew in and had a flight delay so we arrived shortly before closing. They still gave the best service. The Bang Bang Shrimp is super tasty! The Deluxe Burger was the best restaurant burger I've ever had... so juicy and tender! The Shrimp Po' Boy was to die for and it's loaded with succulent shrimp and drizzled with this delicious secret sauce that I had to get extra on the side. It's an oceanfront restaurant and the view was amazing for dinner. I do recommend!!! read more
