Came in today for a gel X take off and new set and Anne was great! She was sweet & super friendly!! (: She did such a great job and in under like 50 mins (that's a plus because my past nail shops took over 1.5 hours to do my nails). My friend took me to this nail salon in Whittier for my birthday, and it ended up being such a lovely experience. She made reservations ahead of time since this spot gets pretty busy, and I'm glad she did--once we arrived, they sat us immediately, right next to each other, and assigned our nail techs. The setup was super comfortable. The recliner chairs had massage rollers that actually worked (rare!), so we were able to relax, chat, and enjoy the time together. I originally wanted a full set with acrylic powder, but they don't offer that here, so I went with gel polish instead. Even so, the nail techs did a really nice job. They were precise, made sure all the nails matched in shape, and the gel went on smooth with no bubbles. During the pedicure, they were gentle and careful--something I really appreciated since some places can be a bit rough. The foot massage was amazing too. The whole salon feels very clean and hygienic, which made the experience even better. It does get very busy, especially on weekends, so I'd definitely recommend booking ahead like we did. Overall, we had a great experience, and I'd happily come back again.

My favorite nail salon. Been coming here for about a year and a half now. Love the quality and how they are able to do any design I walk in with. Everyone that has done my nails is amazing and talented. I've gone to Kayla, Jasmin and now currently going to Amy. I get gel x for nails and for pedicures I usually go with the jelly pedicure (which is a must try). Everyone who has done my pedicure has also been amazing.

It's me again, back to rant about my favorite nail salon everrrrr!! I've been coming to whittwood nails for over 8 years now. Between Kayla and Christina and everyone else at the salon, they are hands down the best at what they do! Kayla, my giirrrlll, she never disappoints. Kayla can free hand any design you desire, she's truly an artist. The environment is relaxing and so welcoming. They offer drinks during your services and hold great conversations. This salon is practically my second home and I couldn't imagine going elsewhere!

Whittwood nails is my go to in town if I want good quality nails. My nails always last whether is gel-x, gel manicures, even my regular pedicure nail polish lasts 2 months. Ruby usually does my nails if it's gel-x. There is a bit of a wait on the weekend, but they're honest. They're not like places that say they can take you in 10 minutes and leave you waiting. There's a lot of parking. The owner is very good at having nail techs that know what they're doing when it comes to gel-x.

Went in to get my nails done and was helped quickly. I called in the same afternoon for an appointment and they had availability. I got gel x and a basic pedicure. I think the prices are very fair. It was $70 for short gelx and additional $25 for design, which I got design on all of my nails. I believe my pedicure was $40-45 but that was with added callous removal and gel polish. Got my pedicure today and the lady kept insisting in doing my eyebrows, I kindly said no. Suddenly when she was done with my pedicure asked me to take off my glasses and started doing my eyebrows, I felt bad to say no, she used tweezers to do my eyebrows and left me with cuts! Excellent service! Went on Thursday at noon without an appointment, they were slammed but got me in about 10 minutes for a pedicure. Super service and listened as I asked for a few particular thing (not to cut the large toe too short and drummed the small toenail flat.) Although not very difficult, I've had some issues with other nail salons! Not here! Listened and responded with exactly what I asked for. I found my new nail salon!!! Yay! read more

I've been going to this shop for 8+ years now and there aren't even great things to say! I've been able to watch it evolve within their family and it just continues to improve. The shop is always so clean, the music and overall vibe in there is welcoming and comfortable. Great color options are available, plus Christina and Kayla are nail wizards. I have been going here for over a year, specifically using Kayla. There has been two instances that I had an appointment but when I got there Kayla had called out and wasn't there. No one called to let me know not to come in. I said nothing just understood that things happen. I missed an appointment with Kayla two weeks ago due to a radiation appointment that ran over and I had no way to call and let her know at the time. I went in today in person to reschedule and was told by Kayla that I could only come in as a walk in (no appointment allowed) because I was a no show (one time) and her time is valuable. ARE YOU KIDDING! I'm not sure if she is the Queen of Whittier or what, but apparently her time is much more valuable than her customers time. I have never been treated so horrible or made to feel so worthless at a place of service where I'm the one paying!! I will NEVER RECOMMEND OR GO HERE AGAIN!! Please join me in giving your hard earned money to businesses that respect and care about their customers. If cancer treatment isn't a good enough reason to miss one appointment I can't imagine how they treat others. Kayla you should be ashamed of yourself!! read more

So sad to say that after years of being a loyal customer of Whittwood Nails I have been forced to look elsewhere for my nail and pedicure services. I have tried and tried to get an appointment. The phone just rings and then a recording says the calls are being screened. I Even reaching out through instagram, to no avail. Today I am trying glamour nails in the city of El Monte. The nail tech also didn't really understand English so it took her awhile to take off the product so I had to dip my foot inside so I wouldn't burn the rest of my toes.

For my pedi, I had Thi and she was also SO GOOD. I have deep ingrown nails and she patiently soaked them and pulled them carefully from the root! Parking tip: the plaza parking is a bit small, but there's a huge parking lot right next door that you can park in and walk over! I was here August 5 or 6 for a gel manicure. A guy was working on me and I notice while he was working on my mani he would mess with something in his drawer. I look in the mirror he was on his phone playing games while working on me. I was very uncomfortable and very unprofessional... I came back a few day later for a pedicure there was a different gentleman that didn't look Asian. I was a little confused on what he was doing in there but I guess he worked there. His customer service was amazing, not just to me but to everyone else in the salon. He was on it. Gave such a good vibe. I give him a 5 star. & I would've haven them a 5 start because I'm all about customer service but due to the bad experience when I came in for my gel mani. & it gets even worse. I went to diner with a close friend Ana and she said she had to walk out of this place with out service. My friend had an appointment with Kayla but she arrived late. She understood she was late she said she would wait but Kayla just had such a horrible attitude. Kayla and the gentlemen that did my manicure I'm guessing her husband was going back and fourth while Ana was standing there waiting for an answer. Then Kayla told her she couldn't do any designs but just a gel mani for her. Mind you it wasn't even 6pm yet. They don't close till 7pm. Kayla was so RUDEEEEEE!!! WOW!! im so impressed with their work and service. i was a walk in that came in at a perfect time! i understand that a appointment is required but i got lucky and i guess an appointment was a no-show. my nails are literally perfect and my pedicure was amazing. christina had worked on my nails and Tee worked on my pedicure. christina is a perfectionist and Tee was just so amazing on my feet. Kayla typically does my nails, but Christina also does a great job. I trust them both to do a great job on length, shape, color, and design.
