I visited the nursery to find house plants to replace some that didn't make it. :-/ The grounds are filled with outdoor plants, and there's a greenhouse filled with house plants. And to my surprise, Ms. Rebecca Whitfill extended an invitation to tour the nursery!! Oh boy, was I excited! We hopped into a golf cart, and off we went. She showed me a variety of trees and landscaping needs. Ms. Rebecca also shared the history of the nursery. What a treat! So adorable and friendly. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I left with plenty of plants, tips, and memories! Accessible entrance.

Signage, but also, hilarious.

Excellent nursery with excellent prices. They have herbs, veggies, fruit trees, indoor plants, outdoor plants, shrubs, flowers, vines, etc. They have it all. It's a huge nursery. If you need help, there is staff on hand. I bought a 1 gallon Star Jasmine for $18, mind you it's 4ft tall! It's like a little tree. Impressive pricing. They also have pots, mulch, glass hummingbird feeders (bought one!) among other things. But don't take my word for it, come and have a look! They have their own parking lot which is nice so you don't have to worry about parking.

On the recommendation of a friend, I visited Whitfill's in North Phoenix about two weeks ago. I have been on a hunt for some nice-looking pots. Most places I had been to had just a few colors (white, blue, terracotta), but as I drove by last week, I saw an array of colorful pots. Taking that friend's advice, I went back and was not disappointed. I purchased three pots, and the staff could not have been more helpful. Bonus points for their ability to deliver, which I have discovered is not commonplace. Frank walked the pot area with me and tagged everything for delivery. Knowing they soon would be delivering my pots, I thought now was the time to purchase the shade tree I have been wanting. So, last week I went back to Whitfill's. Billy took me around the lot and gave me some great advice. After talking with him, I decided against my original plan and went with a different tree. Aside from what appears to be a genuine willingness to help their customers, they appear to be a full-service nursery, as when they deliver everything, they are going to plant the tree and the one vine I purchased. Knowing it will be done right and that they stand behind their product/work is reassuring. Today, the pots, vine, and tree were delivered and planted. The crew could not have been more helpful. They were thorough, placed everything where I wanted them, and explained the care for my tree. And, they cleaned everything up! They have an incredible selection of flowers, potted plants, vegetables, herbs, and succulents. They appear to have it all, plus everything you need to plant and maintain your garden. I have not had great luck in the past with a number of nurseries, but I think I have found a winner! And, based on the number of people that were there today, so have others.

I really like this nursery. It's been a tradition for a several years to get a Christmas tree here. They have a free hot chocolate, popcorn, candy canes and cookies to enjoy while selecting your tree. However, this year the cheapest tree started at $149. Last year I remember trees starting at $119. I understand some years trees go up in price due to environmental conditions. However, the next day I was at Lowe's and saw a very equivalent fresh trees for less than $100. I really like the Christmas tree buying experience at Whitfill. Yet, next Christmas I will look at Lowe's first.

Best place to get your starter veggies. Love going here with my grandkids and the staff is always super friendly and helpful

Seeds? They have seeds!

Whitfill is a LONG time Phoenix family nursery. Their selection and knowledgeable staff make this a reliable place to fill your garden, decorate for Christmas, and plant a tree that will be a lifetime addition to your home. I bought a Chinese Pastiche for my kids house today. It will be shading their house for the next two generations. Their pricing is on the high side, but your are paying for good quality and service here at Whitfill

If you need anything for your yard or garden you can very probably get it here. They have an excellent selection of trees, especially mature citrus trees. If you need help getting around, you can get a ride on a golf cart. The prices seem quite reasonable but I'm not an expert on tree prices. Go here, you won't be disappointed.

This is a nice tree, and no olives!

great trees, great staff, even greater value for the money spent. I highly recommend Paul at Witfill Nursey to guide you towards your planting goals!!

Farm truck in the front for a nice photo op (there is a bench to the right to sit on as well)

We found The Green Goddess website and they're nearby. I was dreading the whole thing, thinking we wouldn't find anything that would work. And then there's the whole take-it-out and make-the-new-one-fit-the-hole issues, what about the plumbing and pump and so on. Hubby is much more level-headed, so we went. Wow, the business is so much bigger than you can see from the street! Excellent selection. We wandered around, trying to find what we liked. Such an amazing variety of working fountains on site! We saw one that was perfect, a design that would eliminate the splashing and cleaning drama, and a better size for our space. But wrong color. Along came Sara Cervantes to assist. Good grief, she knows everything to know about this stuff! She walked us all around the grounds showing us pots that would work, and they could make it into a fountain. We made the selection, she had guys come with fork lift to load it up, we made quick decisions about installation date, and BOOM we were done. Got great advice on maintenance. The installers came on the chosen day, dismantled and removed the old monster, and did a beautiful installation job. All of the employees are incredibly knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and nice. Couldn't be happier! Just go, already!

I truly cannot thank him enough for his years of support, and I was so sad to see him leave his local role with the nursery. Honestly I haven't found a "new LP" since he left. His dedication, customer service, and willingness to go above and beyond set the bar incredibly high. Those are some pretty big shoes to fill. So, consider this my official posting: I'm taking applications for a "new LP". When we replaced our old Palo Verde, we went with a Desert Willow - which has been extremely happy in its new home. We ended up getting the warranty on this new tree and recently they changed their plans. I still don't know all the ins and outs of it, but I do know they make several visits to ensure your tree is set up for success. The staff are great and can do the work even if you're not home. They'll leave you a "report card" so you know how your tree is doing. Overall the warranty was good, but I'd definitely favor it for plants that have a harder time adapting to the desert. Oh how useful this plan would have been for some of my problematic trees in the past. I do think they should have a "lite" warranty for desert plants as I feel most of them tend to be pretty fool proof on their own and don't necessary NEED check ups. I stop by often to check out what's new in the nursery and love when they run promotions for free fertilizer products with a $49 purchase.

The greenhouse manager personally assured us she would tag it with my name and hold it until we arranged pickup. Over the weekend, they sold it to someone else. We found out when we showed up today to pick up the tree we had already paid for. Staff left us sitting alone for 15 minutes while they tried to figure out where it went. Nobody came back to update us, so I had to walk to the front myself to learn it was gone. When I asked for my money back and told them how disappointed I was, all I got were blank stares and what felt like a condescending apology, like I was inconveniencing them! Not one person acknowledged that they failed us. Nobody said "this is on us." Nobody said "our system broke down and we'll work to be better." No offer to find a replacement. No discount on a future purchase. No manager stepping in. Nothing. That's not a one-off mistake that could be recovered from; it's bad customer service and there's no recovering from that. A nursery's word should mean something. Here, a "hold" from their greenhouse manager means nothing. They made the mistake and then made it worse with their indifference. If you buy from Berridge, put it in your car before you leave, because a paid-for plant with your name on it isn't safe overnight. Better yet, take your business somewhere that honors its commitments and acknowledges when they mess up.

Taking away a star today...probably won't go back…read more I was extremely disappointed with the manager today -- the Harry Potter look-alike. I found his attitude condescending and felt like he was speaking down to us, which is especially disappointing considering we shop at this store almost every week. An employee had been helping us with a woolly butterfly bush that had obviously been there for a while and was growing significantly sideways. We were concerned about whether it would recover. The employee was very helpful, said he thought it probably would, but understood our hesitation and suggested that we ask at the counter if they would consider a small discount. So we did. The manager came out and told us, "I could have sold that for full price yesterday." Okay... then why is it still sitting there today? He went on to say that he would give us the discount only because his employee had told us to ask, but that in his opinion the plant was not discountable. The discount was 15% on a $29.99 plant. That comes to approximately $4.50. Let that sink in. A regular customer who shops in your store almost every week, whose large backyard is filled with plants, flowers, and trees purchased from your business, was made to feel uncomfortable and talked down to over $4.50. The money was never the issue. We were concerned about purchasing a plant that might not make it, and one of your own employees suggested we ask. Instead of simply handling a very minor request graciously, the manager turned it into an unnecessarily unpleasant interaction. Apparently $4.50 was worth risking the goodwill of a longtime customer. I purchased the plants we already had and then left. I continued on to Home Depot and purchased the rest of the flowers I needed there. All over $4.50. Sometimes customer service costs a business far more than the tiny discount they were reluctant to give.
