I've rafted with Liquid Descent multiple times, and every single trip has been a 5-star experience!…read moreThe guides are not only experts at keeping you safe, but they also make sure you have an unforgettable time on the river. This year, I went early season on Clear Creek and loved it so much I came back late season for Gore Canyon- an adrenaline-packed, fun adventure! The day started with a swim test to make sure everyone was prepared before tackling Class V rapids. (Honestly, if you're not a strong swimmer, this trip isn't for you, they do test your swimming in the rapids and throughout the trip over half of the people across our 5 rafts ended up in the water at some point! Additionally this would be quite the dive into the deep end if you've never rafted before!) The trip was an incredible mix of thrills, skill, and crazy beautiful scenery you would not have guessed was there when you drive into Kremmling. Midway through, we stopped for snacks, and when we wrapped up, the crew served a delicious lunch and cold beers (NA options were there too!) such a nice touch after a big day! What sets Liquid Descent apart is the crew. Every guide I've had has been dedicated to making the trip special. I've talked to them and many of them have said they specifically choose to work here because of the company's extra training and the sense of community. I even met the owner yesterday at Gore Canyon, and you can tell the company's passion for customer experience comes directly from the top. Specifically the last 2 guides I've had, Jordan and Malia have been awesome! Yes, most rafting companies use the same put-in/take-out points and similar gear but the experience is what makes the difference. With Liquid Descent, the guides make sure it's the best it can be and their love for their job ensures you're going to have a great time. I've rafted with other companies in locations where liquid descent isnt and know: the right guide changes everything. If you're looking for an unforgettable rafting trip in Colorado, Liquid Descent is the company to go with!

I was so nervous walking in, but from the moment we arrived, every single staff member made us feel welcomed, safe, and supported. Our guide, Koa, was the perfect balance of fun, kind, and incredibly skilled. He guided us through the rapids with such confidence and ease while also making sure everyone felt safe and included. He checked in on us several times throughout and made sure we were having fun, asked us if we wanted to "spice it up" a bit or keep it mellow and just really let us know this was "our" trip and he's cater to what we wanted. I quickly found myself letting go of fear and enjoying the moment... something I didn't expect would happen. Koa's energy was contagious, and his calm, respectful nature made us feel like we were in the best hands possible. At one point on the river, another rafting company had a mishap and we had to pull over and wait for them to recover and get their riders back into the raft safely. Koa explained what had happened with total grace - no judgment, no gossip - just a calm and respectful explanation. He also spoke so kindly of his own coworkers and even the owner of Liquid Descent. You could tell he genuinely cares about the rafting community and takes pride in his work and LOVES his Liquid Descent family! Every employee we encountered was friendly, encouraging, and helpful - from getting us fitted with helmets and life jackets to cheering us on as we headed out. As someone who started out nervous, that kind of supportive vibe made a huge difference. They encouraged me, and they helped me push past my comfort zone in the best way possible. What a GREAT memory! We will remember this day not only for the thrill of the rapids, but for the kindness and heart of the people who guided us through it! If you are considering rafting in Colorado, go with Liquid Descent. I'm so glad we did!

You can go down the river multiple times as your price is for the day. It is a couple dollars cheaper on weekdays. Tubing is something everyone should try at least once. It's super easy: book ahead, you get a tube rental and two rides to the "top" with the price. It's cold, even when it's 97 degrees out! But you get used to it. All ages can do this. If you're nervous, you can get a life jacket and a helmet, but we haven't felt the need to do that. It's NOT a lazy river but it's also not a cat 5 white water experience. It's just fun. One of the guides, Pete contacted us as was absolutely amazing. We learned about him taking his grandson fishing and even about his dog. Pete was in constant contact making sure we had all the info, directions as there is very poor cell service where we will be fishing. We even decided to bring special treats for his dog. The trip is scheduled for tomorrow and we are so excited, all our gear is laid out including 3 bags of dog treats. My wife and I left multiple messages with Golden River Sports saying it was for Travis explaining we were extremely happy about how wonderful Pete the guide for Wednesday is but not a word from the guide for Thursday. After days of no phone calls from Travis or GRS I called and explained we are not comfortable or happy about the lack of professional conduct from Thursday's guide or GRS so cancel Thursday but we are excited about how great the guide for Wednesday is. On Tuesday We finally get a call from Travis and he says has no clue about any of this he was just confirming our booking. I explained there is a big issue with professionalism and communication with GRS and we canceled Thursday but were very excited and were very impressed with Wednesday guide Pete. He stated " thank you for bringing this to my attention but I don't feel comfortable about sending my guide out with you. I said I'm just bringing this to your attention and love working with Pete. He said he was canceling our trip! At this point now I'm mad! I try to help this guy and tell him we have no problem with Pete and it's your company that has the problem. I then stated I better not see one penny charged on my credit card!!!so we drove here from Iowa, rented an Airbnb waiting to go on our bucket list fly fishing trip and paid all this money to squeeze in 2 days of fishing. Now I ask you would you want to trust your money or precious time with a company like this??? Buyer beware!

It's time to kick some knowledge on Downstream Adventures rafting so follow along…read more We came with a group of 4 couples and most of them had little to no previous experience in rafting. We signed up for the intermediate level tour and what a blast we had. For those that don't know, this tour consisted of class 3-4 level rapids and required everyone to participate- or should I say paddle. We went late in the season so the water level was low which made things slightly more difficult as hitting more rocks was likely. Anyways, we grabbed our guide Philip and headed off. Philip was a great guide and if you get the chance I highly recommend using him. Word from Boat Crew 2 is Tippy was solid too. He had a great attitude and gave all of us clear instructions. As we floated down the river we had the typical bumps and spins. Some areas were a little harry but nothing extreme. A few people in different boats had a few fall out during the trip but nobody was ejected and nearly every boat got high-sided on a rock or two which required the boat captain to work a bit. Aside from that, everything went pretty smoothly. During one point we came across this dude who was fishing. He was absolutely lost and had no idea what he was doing. As boats got close to him he continued casting where most people would wait until the boat passed. Well, not this village idiot. This clown literally cast his line into our boat and snagged someone in our boat landing the hook into her shorts. All in all, this was a great trip and everyone had a blast. My buddies AnnTony and T-Bone were in another boat and even though they are generally grumpy and stubborn they also had a great time. Next time you are in the Denver area and if your looking for some fun and adventure, I highly recommend you check them out- you won't be disappointed. Two thumbs up! Oh, I nearly forgot about the bus. So, if you don't know, you have to jump on a yellow school bus to be brought to/from the river from the store. The bus ride itself was an E ticket ride. The best way to describe it would be picture the video game Grand Theft Auto where you can upgrade your car to a tank or school bus. Let's just say we were had fun. Good times.

Just an overall great experience. Such beautiful country and very safety conscious guides. 10/10…read morerecommend.

They have a strict age requirement of 14 and our 12 year old made that a challenge. Having done class 3-4 at Royal Gorge I would say this did not disappoint. It was constant and continuous adventure. I would have loved to kept going longer but like all good things they do come to an end. The 1.5 hours was mot too short either don't get me wrong. If you are scared of the cold don't cheap out--get the extra gear to make your experience better. My wife and kids did the gear. Since we were here in July in the water at noon I toughed it out. Don't vet me wrong it was cold and at times what I would have done to be warm. I feel the cold splash is a part of the experience. Sitting in the front I was also glad for a pair of sunglasses. They say this is some of the best rafting they have had in awhile. What really made this exemplary was the staff. They made you all feel like family. Zak in particular was our favorite. He gave the right balance of safety and firmness needed for a guide. He also helped my 70 year old mother in law work through her fears and continue with getting in the raft. She was reluctant as she only has one hand. Zak calmed her and gave her options. My kids also loved the bus driver Max. Not so sure they loved him ao much it was more his dog Willow. If you want a great and safe experience do it with Mad Adventures where they make you feel like family.

But Austin was our fearless rafting guide and part-time therapist--who calmed nerves, cracked jokes, and got us paddling in no time. From the very first splash, Austin made us feel safe and slightly more athletic than we actually are. He coached us through the twists and turns of the creek, and somehow convinced our teens that getting absolutely drenched and paddling for their lives was the best day ever. Miracles do exist. We glided through hidden stretches of the creek like pros (or at least like enthusiastic amateurs with great lighting), hollering with joy and soaking up every second of the adventure. Even the "hold on tight!" moments felt like a ride at a theme park--but with better views and less screaming. 10/10 would paddle again. If you're looking for an unforgettable family outing full of laughter, nature, and just the right amount of "we might flip but only if you don't do what Austin says", he's your guide.
