This review reflects only this particular location and its staff; this review does not reflect my opinions to other White Windmill locations or White Windmill as a company. I reserved/ordered a cake on 03/24/2026 to be picked up on 03/26/2026 @ 9:00am (Today). When I ordered the cake I wanted something large enough that could give approximately 20 people a decent enough piece of cake to eat. The guy taking the order said a 10" cake is not shown in the display but it would probably be enough for 20 people. There was literally no special instructions, special messages or deviations from the same design that was in the display case. I asked if two days was sufficient time for this cake to be made and ready by 03/26/2026 at 9:00am to which he replied "the staff comes in at 3:00am and since it's two days it will be enough time". I paid and left. The morning of pickup (Today) approximately an hour before pickup time they called me from an unknown number several times and when I didn't pick up they texted me. They claimed they didn't see my order until this morning and that I needed to provide a week's notice for the type of cake I ordered (In direct conflict with what I was told on the day I ordered it). They then offered to push my pickup time back 3 hours and "try" to have it ready by then or give me a 7" cake and a 9" cake instead. After they messed up and didn't provide what I ordered in the first place, it's safe to say I didn't have much faith left in either of the alternatives they offered nor their word. I opted for a third option, my money back. This cake was supposed to be for a 96 year old grandmother's birthday and her friends. But never mind that, there's always next year, right? Potential customers be warned and make absolute SURE you VERIFY with whoever you're ordering about WHAT you're ordering before spending any money here. Edit: I will extend an olive branch and give one star back because they addressed the mistake and maintained communication in a professional manner. read more

Met my cousin here for breaky and politely had a bacon egg and cheese crossaint and a hazelnut latte. These were decent. The decor was very cozy with multiple seating arrangements for two, sparkling lights, high ceilings, and wood interiors. The sandwiches were served on rectangular wooden plates. On my way out I grabbed oooooooh a couple of the to go items. You know as hostess gifts for those I was staying with in town. Bun delicious, crossaint still delicious, and cake slice delicious. Had passed this place a few times and always made a note to try it. Then I saw a video on The Gram and viewed the CUBE CROISSANT! Well, we had to go to try that! Got there around noon on a Sunday and the place was BUSY! I saw just one cube croissant left and grabbed it! Of course I had to get a few more things, ordered a sammich and a lemonade. Each of these orders came with their own beepers - you go to different counters to pick them up. Everything we tried was good. The place had open seating. S you may share a long tables with others? Deciding to meet up here for a foodie first, a good friend and I were SO pleased with outing!! Kids and I stopped here on a Saturday around 1 pm. My favorite item, the curry bread was already sold out. Daughter picked out a croissant with cookie topping and cookie on the inside She said it was tasty. We also got a cake roll that looks amazing. This is such a cute bakery to visit or study at. They do get loud and busy at times. I love getting bread here because it always tastes so fresh and they have a variety of options to choose from. Their drinks were alright but worth the price you pay, and the sandwhich was so thick and filling for $12. Each bread ranges from $3-$6ish that you can choose from and they sell drinks, cakes, and sandwiches too. Parking is limited but plenty of seats and space inside. read more

I don't know how, but White Windmill Cafe managed to create a cozy but productive vibe in their space. It's low lighting and lots of wooden furnishings, but you can still get work done. Maybe it's the fact I saw a lot of customers on their laptops looking busy while I was here? Like I said, I don't know. It's clean and well organized. The pastry cases were chock full of tempting goodies and I had a hard time deciding. I actually ordered an almond croissant for the evening and got a couple of macarons for me to enjoy the next day. I have been coming to this bakery for probably +20 years...to me, this bakery is OG. And it still stands up. Over the years, this bakery has truly evolved. I like Paris Baguette and Tree Story as well but...I think I still favor this bakery on Buford Hwy. Their buns have so much filling! More than the other Korean bakeries in Atlanta. And taste the best. The curry croquette weighs about a brick it has so much filling...and not too oily and greasy. They even have some vegan options. And...although prob not ok for people who are truly celiac...those with gluten sensitivity should know koreans use rice or tapioca flour in many baked goods. I have given friends who avoid gluten the tapioca and rice balls and breads and they love it. (Not saying it is safe for people who avoid gluten but just saying for some it might be ok.) On Saturday mid-morning, the bakery was packed and difficult to move around as a lot of people did not know what to do. They were just standing, gawking and making it rather difficult to shop. When I explained and showed them what to do, learned most were new people to Korean bakeries who found out through social media or something similar. Enter, grab a tray, put bakery paper on it, grab some tongs (some bakeries tongs and gloves), open the display case and pick your goody. Please, please avoid touching any other goods except the one you want. Please keep your children from picking up and touching everything as well. (Korean culture is rather not to touch unless you buy.) This is one of the best bakeries in Atlanta I truly believe. The options seem never-ending for savory and sweet goodies. Honestly, I have not eaten off the cafe food menu but I am sure they are good. I only ever get drinks and the baked goods. Also, a kind request, Korean coffee shops and cafes are where people come to sit, drink, eat and socialize. My mother and her friends still visit Korean bakeries to drink coffee and eat goodies and chat away an entire afternoon! I saw people setting up their work laptops on tables...this is not an office. I came to pick up some pastries to go. The inside area is cute, good seating. You grab your own pastries and go. There's unique options and we liked what we tried. There's also hot food but we didn't try that. If you order coffee or drinks you wait for those at the counter. The wait is not super speedy therefore this place doesn't get 5 stars. I visited this cafe this afternoon and had a great experience. The building is beautiful with plenty of seating and music. They provide free strong wifi so there were many young customers doing homework or studying there. If you prefer a quiet study place, I would suggest noise cancelling earphones. The bakery had plenty of bread, cakes, and drink options. I was sitting at the bench facing the window and noticed they always had customers flowing in to pick out a treat. I ordered a classic lavender milk tea. The lavender flavor was very present and heavily floral. I would recommend the small size drink, because the floral flavor can be overwhelming. They gave a good amount of drink for the price I paid. One thing I noticed that may be a bit strange to bring up was the plastic caps of the plastic cups were difficult to put a straw in. I almost had to stab the plastic cap into the opening and actually dented and broke my straw. I ended up getting a new straw. I also noticed that the wooden stools facing the windows were wobbly. I sat there for a while and had to get use to the stool being unstable. Overall, 4/5 experience. I would like to come back to try a new drink! read more

Food and strawberry matcha was delicious! Although the cafe was crowded, the food comes out in great time. I also appreciate the large parking availability. I'm taking away stars bc the staff isn't super friendly. The cashier did not greet me or speak at all when I was up next to order (including the sandwich lady for pickup and the drink lady for pickup). The tropical tea was BAD you could barely taste the fruit and the after taste was like fluoride. The pastries soft but they were cold and bland. They don't warm them up when you buy them so you're just eating pastries that have been sitting on a shelf in an air conditioned room all day. The apple juice was really good but it's bought from a different company so the cafe had nothing to do with the taste. I was just passing through on 285 looking for a quick coffee stop. I had no idea the treat I was in for. Well, I had an idea when I pulled up and the lot was full at 9:30 on a Sunday. It's a bit of a coffee shop and market/bakery in one. When you walk in it's slightly overwhelming and the line makes you feel the need to grab something quick and jump in line. You can do that, but you'll probably end up like me, realizing the line moves super fast and getting back in line a 2nd time after taking the proper time to browse and make an adequate selection. We tried several lattes, including the pistachio latte, strawberry matcha latte, and brown sugar oat latte, and all were fantastic. We also tried the mango smoothies which were a hit with the kids. They have morning breakfast sandwiches made to order and the bacon eggs and cheese on the croissant was by far the favorite. So good! We also go a variety of pastries to snack on at the ball field today. It's a busy shop, but not at all claustrophobic. However with the nice weather, we ate outside on the patio, which was a bit more relaxing. We will definitely be back on our next trip through. read more

One thing I want to point out is that if you when they first open, most bakery items aren't out and ready for selling yet! However they do still have a decent selection. I got one of their cream filled croissants which was super delicious! The cream wasn't too sweet (which was perfect because there's a good amount of cream inside) and the croissant was so flaky. I got the mango bingsu which was good, although the portion size was small for the $7 price. Typically when I order bingsu it comes in a full bowl rather than a cup.
