She rather curtly told us that the coffee machine was broken and that the cook was running late, so there would be a bit of a wait. Rather than matching her energy, I recognized that she was in distress and treated her with patience and compassion. She recovered quickly and began offering excellent service. I ordered the Classic Canadian Brunch and felt disappointed with the sausage and pancakes. The eggs were cooked properly and the bacon was good. My boyfriend went with the Angus Benny, upgraded with the croissant bun. He described it as "not bad and not great." He said the eggs were cooked properly and the hollandaise was "good," but that the beef was "a step above good deli meat" and the bun was "too thin." He liked the potatoes. If you're a person of color STAY AWAY. This was absolutely the most uncomfortable I felt within the entire western half of Canada. As I've gone through A LOT of cities and Provinces.
