Fantastic! My sister took us here for a family dinner, and wow it was amazing!…read more Authentic Italian foods and 5 star hospitality. We arrived right on time for our reservation, but the table was not quite ready as the previous party was taking their time to settle their bill. The owner took us to be seated in the gallery area and brought us some champagne and fresh bruschetta to snack on. I was blown away by the delicious and generous appetizer. We were not at all upset to wait for the table, but the fact he went above and beyond just really set us up for a great night. Once we did get our table, we were quick to order a few pastas from Rome. The front of house manager/ owner is the husband of the talented chef, so he was able to give us some recommendations. The complimentary bread comes with a great quality olive oil and the most delicious, aceto balsamico for dipping. I literally have been hunting for a balsamic vinegar that tastes even slightly similar. The meal was amazing. Burrata Speck I think it was (it's burrata with speck layered over top) was AMAZING. Great balance of flavours and the burrata was a delicious, fresh milky taste. I can't handle much oil, so I already knew the pasta with all the cheese and olive oil, wouldn't settle well in my stomach. Luckily, I'm with my whole family so I was able to just take a little taster of everything. We really loved everything we ordered. The cacio e pepe was delish! Salty from all the parm but a creamy sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. We also got the Carbonara which I found to be too salty after having the Cacio E Pepe. It tasted very good though! We also got a fettucini I think with ragu which was such a lovely depth of flavour. We also got some kind of a pork shank which is HUGE and came with some delicious roasted fingerling potatoes and I think pork lard. Pork is not my cup of tea, but I will say it was cooked very well and had a great taste. Seasoned beautifully! The staff were so friendly throughout the whole dinner and we had such a great time. I highly recommend reserving a table because they were fairly full all night long.

It was suggested that we stop in around 8:30 PM and they may be able to take drop ins. That is exactly what we did as it's a short three minute stroll from our hotel. It's an unusual space with a couple of sliding garage doors and surrounded by glass, certainly not your prototypical Italian bistro. It somehow works, with the checkered table cloths and the impeccable service, especially what we received from Griff. The martinis were spot on, the Cacio e Pepe so good with a house white and a whole fish Pesce del Giorno disassembled at the table by the owner Danilo. The bread with EVOO and balsamic was also excellent. The entire experience has us longing to go back to Rome again. Danilo's Wife is the chef and a true star in the kitchen. She was taught in Rome and the authenticity of the food is amazing. We were even given a chance to talk to Danilo the following afternoon prior to opening where we were given tips on sights and restaurants in Rome for our upcoming trip. Our meals done, we were offered a couple of digestif's which just capped the meal off and again spoke of a true Italian experience. We can't wait to come back again, for Griff's service, and to share our experiences with the tips we were given by Danilo. It was a true 6 stars out of 5!

We arrived on a late Saturday afternoon, without a reservation, and were seated without too much of a wait. Drinks were inquired about right away, but we did have to wait quite awhile to order food. Once ordered, everything came out in a reasonable timeframe. We started with the calamari, and were surprised by the amount that we received. They do not skimp! I thought it was good, and my boyfriend thought it was very good. When I received my Caesar salad, I felt a bit grouchy. It was served like a wedge salad. I absolutely detest having to cut up a salad in order to eat it. My boyfriend ordered the Spicy Carnivore pizza. He described it was one of the best pizzas he has had. I tired it and thought it was solid. The goat cheese definitely elevated it. I went with the Rattlesnake Stromboli, which was absolutely "Wow!" Every bite of it was "Mmmmmmm." The restaurant had a calm vibe, despite being full. Everything about it felt comfortable. Despite the wait to place our food order and the cumbersome salad, I highly recommend Cibo & Vines.

We were hungry and thirsty after driving from Creston. This hit the spot and then some! Had never tried a Caesar (Canadian version of a Bloody Mary made with Clamato). So glad this was the one I decided to try first! Some spice but not enough to cover up the flavor. Actually quite refreshing. Mike's red Sangria was also flavorful and refreshing. It was more of a sweet rather than spicy Sangria. He got the Spaghetti and (5) Meatballs. Very good but we couldn't quite finish all the meatballs. My Chicken Pesto Alfredo was just what I was hoping it would be. Loved how the sun-dried tomatoes were incorporated. Thanks so much!!

We got there about an hour prior to closing, but figured a wood fired pizza can't take all that long. The server Abigale was very quick, polite and obviously well trained. We ordered a bottle of Chianti along with a Caprese salad. The lovely K an Al Pesto pizza and I the Hawaiian. I know there is a big debate about pineapple on a pizza, but we are here at home not in Italy. The salad was excellent, the wine very nice, and the pizza's were divine. They were crunchy, well topped and cooked perfectly for us. Having spent the month of March in the south of Italy this year we've eaten a fair amount of pizza, this experience took us right back. It wasn't long that we were the only ones in the place and the owner came by the check on us while he mopped the floors. The place was being cleaned by all the staff along with the owner, you don't see that often. He moved from India to Italy and finally here to Canada. We're glad he did! 100% Recommended!! We will be back for sure!

We got the focaccia and the bruschetta. We ended up putting the tomatoes that fell off the bread onto the focaccia and it was incredible. We came back later, got more bruschetta, a margherita di bufalo pizza and a glass of the mazzei chianti! Perfect pairing! We ended with an affogato and tiramisu (the server's mother's secret recipe!!!!) Also want to add they have a wonderful patio section with plentiful seating!

The husband is the chef and is amazing with his home grown recipes. We were seated on patio and you can see the planters filled with all types of seasoning just knowing they are fresh. His wife is the waitress and very amusing and a great waitress. We ordered some appies based on her recommendations and were not disappointed. As it is half way up the hill the views are magnificent. Seating is limited so reservations are a must. The food one word FANTASTIC. Starters were Arancino which are rice balls covered in crumb that I didn't recognize and there were 4 and had a cheese sauce on the plate for dipping. The rice was perfectly cooked, not sticky or over done. You gotta try the house made Focaccia bread was to die for. The pieces were the size of a small cake. There are two ways to order the food which comes in a bowel. You can order a single serving or a double serving that feeds 2 to 3. We ordered the double as there were 8 of us and we all shared. We had orecchiette Gorgonzola, rigatoni vodka, spaghetti burrata and chicken Milanese. As you can see this is real Italian food. To impress a date or any special occasion go to this place.

We requested for them to swap out the Buffala in the Buffala Caprese for the Buratta instead and they were happy to oblige. It was divine. Then for our second course, we had the classic Linguini Vongole. Psst! The portion is huge in Kelowna. Great for sharing. We really wanted to order more food but both my husband and I are small eaters. No chance to try the Entrés. But, we will likely comeback for more the next time we are in town. Instead of ordering another dish we opted to have their dessert . Their house made Spumoni Gelati consisted of pistachio, vanilla and chocolate (again, very generous with their portion, three giagantic balls of the best gelato your money could buy). The long and short of it is, they have great service, food and desserts what more can one ask for. Needless to say, I would 100% recommend La Bussola to everyone that visit Kelowna. Forget about all other Italian joint. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. Well done!
