The Pemberton + Marine Drive White Spot has some excellent wait staff. The space is large and accommodating and the west side is very bright. We have been for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I'm sorry to say that the food from this kitchen can be inconsistent. While breakfasts, the burgers and milkshakes are reliable the salads (especially the Caesar salad) and mains (especially the pastas) are not. Pretty solid dinner and very filling. I got the Double Double which I LOVED. The beef was cooked just right, not over done or under dome, juicy and flavorful. Everything else really complimented the burger and made it tasted so yummy. I'm not sure what sauce they used but it tastes very similar to McDonald's Big Mac sauce, so it tasted amazing. Their fries are always good. Thick cut, a little on the salty side but most of them were hot and crispy! Mom got the fish and chips and while she ate them all, she felt like they were a little over fried. They weren't bad, but she felt like they could have been better. Dad had the chicken tenders and he echoes a similar statement after I asked him about them. He wasn't expecting them to be as small as they were and thought there a bit lower quality compared to other restaurants we've gone too that serves bigger and thicker sized tenders. But they weren't bad and he was pretty hungry so did eat them all. But like mom, he said they could have been bigger/better. He loves the fries though. He really loves these fries. So overall we did get full, I probably liked my meal the most, and we still ate everything, just a few small things that could be improved. We stopped by for a weekend brunch. We ordered Poutine, Charred Tomato & Spinach Benedict and a Prawn & Avocado Bowl. The latter two dishes were nicely done; however, the Poutine was kinda "meh". The gravy was more like a thin and runny sauce rather than a gravy. We've had better poutine at Denny's, and even their poutine isn't all that great. It's just convenient when my daughter has a poutine craving and we aren't close to any specialty poutine shops. Also, the service was incredibly slow on this day. It's not the first time that this has happened either. Beginning to think that maybe we should try going to a different location of White Spot, but this one is really the most convenient location for us, especially as the one at Park Royal will be closing next month. Really don't care to have to drive over to Lonsdale Ave. though for White Spot. Might still give this location another try but...definitely not in a rush to come back here. Ordered the Monty mushroom burger. For the price of 20.99 I better be tasting a juicy beef patty, unfortunately, it was dry and hard. The mushrooms were pretty much nonexistent. They didn't even look like mushrooms. The fries were definitely not fresh, they were dry, and not even warm Since when are fries 1 inch long, well I guess when they're from the bottom of the basket. Ohhhh nooooo! I must say there is a difference between night and day at this location. For breakfast I get good service, coffee before I ask and a meal that can be customized to my Liking. ( crap this iPhone has a mind of its own with autocorrect). Tonight ? I want here with friends and we had 3 meals with waters and 1 coffee. The service was poor, the food mediocre. However Why is it so expensive now??? I went to the hotel Vancouver for lunch and with 3 meals, waters and coffees it came to the same price. However the food was way better. Either White Spot is really trying and changing their perception of Customer Service or Daryl is *on point*. Long story short, my Skip driver forgot 1 of 3 order bags. Before the Skip driver even made it to my doorstep, this White Spot location was profusely apologizing for an error that wasn't even theirs! I was (good) shocked, because Skip didn't even apologize for their error. Whilst talking on the phone with a White Spot member, they asked for my address. Today, I check my mail to see a direct letter from this location with a custom letter from Daryl expressing, again, how sorry they were for a mistake Skip made. To be honest, when I was ordering from Skip I didn't mean to choose their location, but instead Lonsdale's - as it's closer. However, after the amazing personal touch to the level of customer service I received; they have truly won me as a loyal and repeat customer. I will always order from this location - instead of any other. I eat here all the time so it's surprising for me to even give my all time favourite restaurant a 1 star - but hear me out. I understand not giving me appy hour prices because I don't eat in - I take out and eat at home. What I really find hard to understand is why you want to charge me for sauces like honey mustard or ranch for my dry ribs and chicken wings. You simply don't understand how frustrating and infuriating it is to be charged for dip... I usually tip 4-5 dollars for a 20 dollar meal - which is way more than the 2 dips I use. I've eaten at white spot for nearly all my life and this is one of the first where I noticed I was being charged for dip. Here's an advice so ur waiters and waitresses don't get the ugly end of the stick... don't charge for dip - every time I see a charge for dip I will never tip. read more

Train. Wreck. Staffed exclusively by clueless teenagers and one incredibly frustrated, harried-looking woman who is literally the only person allowed to take reservations and serve alcohol. It took our party an hour to get our meals, meanwhile there was a group of 3 teens standing by the host/ess counter the whole time doing nothing. Came here a few months ago. For me this is comfort fast food. Decor is like all the other locations. I want to give a huge thanks to the server who was more than patient with me with my order and specifications which I will admit was a bit complicated. I had the legendary burger with a few dietary modifications. The burger came out in a timely manner in spite of these modifications. We have been to this location a few times now as it is new location near our house. Last few times here food is about a 6 out of 10. Kids did not like their Mac and cheese. Service is spotty, they miss the details like cutlery, serving the meals not together following up. White Spot is notorious for mediocre food at expensive prices.
