Where do I start? Came here to support a Family member. My first time in Missouri. The food options, were basic. But, when I looked up White River Fish House...I seen it was on water and had some really good seafood options. OMG! My family and I, loved the outside, inside and the waves crashing underneath the Restaurant! Machkenly was such a wonderful hostess! Such a sweetie and so very professional! Went here for lunch with Hubby and a friend. Hubby had really wanted to go because he had heard good reviews. I was underwhelmed. Disappointing that they don't offer a lunch menu (even on weekdays). We ordered meals - I got the fried shrimp and fries. It also came with coleslaw. The food was nothing special. Like something you could heat up in the oven at home. The prices are high for average food. They do have jalapeno cornbread served at the table and that was tasty! Hubby got shrimp tacos and did enjoy them. First I'd like to thank this restaurant for agreeing to sit my family party of 10. We came in not realizing they were closing so soon, and the servers were sweet enough to say they could squeeze us in! We drove from Arkansas to go to Silver Dollar City, and after a day of rides, we were exhausted and very hungry. The service was great. We ordered crawfish tails and jalapeño cornbread. Me, not a fan of spicy things, I wasn't too excited to taste it, but after my dad suggested I did, I was happily surprised at how delicious (and non spicy) it was! I had ordered the shrimp Bonetti, and it was spectacular. I loved the decor to pieces it made me feel like I was at someone's vacation home on the lake. The clam chowder and fish and chips are our favorite in Branson. We are on a diet, so I asked for a salad instead of the chips.We love the jalapeno corn bread. The server was quick and attentive. Below average food not worth the prices. We had a party of 6 with a variety of orders. The best meal was the trout almandine with rice pilaf. The sweet cornbread at the beginning of the meal was the standout, everyone enjoyed. Fish and chips was ok but had a thick breading. Had lunch there on 1.13.25. Arrived early and the manager saw us outside in the cold weather. He invited us inside to sit next to the fire for 10 minutes prior to opening for business. Unassuming from the outside - hell, the outside actually looks a little scary. When you get inside, it's largely an older clientele, but that's ok. Our server (Angel) was exactly that. She treated us great, and we could not have asked for more. When we asked what was in the smoked fish dip, she brought us a sample - it's totally worth ordering. The salads were great, the blackened fish and shrimp was incredibly tasty, and the cheese curds were wonderful. Unfortunately, the cornbread was dry and lacked flavor and moisture, and the famous fish sandwich was a huge disappointment. It was basically a dry and grilled version of a McD filet o' fish. I would definitely come back to this restaurant again! We loved looking at all the decorations in the restaurant and walking around the place. Our table was right next to the window looking out on the river. We ordered the gator bites for the appetizer--very tender and perfectly fried. We also ordered the catfish, the almond-crusted trout, the ribs, and the shrimp pasta. The portions were not very big, but they came packed with flavor. I've read some of the reviews criticizing the price and portion size. However, this is a nice restaurant located at a prime scenic location, so it is not really a surprise that the price point is higher. We came into the restaurant with that mindset, so we weren't expecting big portion sizes for cheap prices. And we were absolutely not disappointed. Good things first, the staff was awesome. The Blueberry Mojito was awesome. My husband and I both ordered the Shrimp Bonetti. My husband thought it tasted fine, but it has no taste, no salt, the herbed tomato sauce was not herbed and very minimal. The parmesean cream sauce was too light as well. My shrimp weren't fully cooked and were grey in the middle. The jalapeño corn bread that my granddaughter loved the first time was so dry it crumbled when you tried to cut it. We chose to sit on the deck, the poor wait staff were fighting broken doors on both ends of the deck. One poor waitress was taking in dirty dishes on the other en of the deck and tried to open the door. The door didn't budge and her moment from trying to open it caused her to loose her balance and the tray loaded with dirty dishes came crashing to the floor. Another server was bringing out a meal and the door stuck when it was halfway open causing her to drop a heavily loaded tray. Another waitress tried to come out with food and the door would not open. I grabbed ahold of the door and pulled with all of my strength (and considerable weight) to open it for her. Everyone on the deck felt sorry for the poor wait staff. One of the bussers let it slip that they had been having issues with the doors. I know the owners can afford to fix or replace those doors immediately. Do something to make things easier for your wonderful wait staff. Also give them a cart to roll dirty dishes in on. You got 3 stars thanks to your wonderful wait staff. Another great place to eat here in Branson. They use texting to notify you when your table is ready. This way you can social distance and wait outside, if you wish, and talk with privacy until your table is called. Every table gets a plate of fresh, warm corn bread to eat while waiting for your meal to arrive. The New England Clam Chowder was hot and couldn't have tasted better. We had the Fish and Chips and the Catfish Entree. Both were excellent and filled us up completely. We will definitely return on our next visit to Branson. read more

The food was absolutely incredible! We had coconut shrimp, fish and chips (sub sweet potato fries), and ISLAMORADA PORTOFINO. I don't have anything but amazing things to say about the taste of the food! Our server was kind and helpful and helped to make our meal enjoyable! I loved that we could see the water from our table! Definitely a 10/10 experience. The complimentary cornbread was delicious too! If I had to give one critique it would be that the appetizer coconut shrimp only came with 6 shrimp. But they were a good size and it was just an appetizer, so I'm not really sure that's a problem. They're just so good you're going to want more! Sean, our server was great! Very attentive! The food was underwhelming for the most part. The fried alligator was really good...the best thing we ordered. It came with a sauce made with cream cheese, jalapeño and simple syrup. Really good! The salad was okay, nothing special but it's hard to mess up a salad lol. We ordered the shrimp bonetti and clam chowder. The chowder was only warm and the shrimp tasted like pizza sauce which neither of us cared for. The interior was nice. The view is pretty enough in the summer, so I can imagine the brilliant display of color when Fall arrives. I've eaten here a few times and each time the consensus seems to be the same; if you order fish or seafood, it's delicious, everything else is just kinda meh. Beautiful spot out on the lake. We had a quiet lunch outside on the Fourth of July, overlooking the lake. The food was delicious, it was a comfortable atmosphere and we had great service. The interior is unique and rustic, while the exterior patio is so nice as you're out on the patio. We enjoyed our lunches and will definitely be back soon. Well, this place was quite disappointing, from appetizers to entrees. The spinach dip was flavorless and unappealing. The cheese curds were good, I'll give them that. The catfish was partly inedible. It had a slimy black streak thru the entire filet. Disgusting. The tartar sauce was bland. The Mashed Potatoes were good, even though they only give you the tiniest scoop of them. The menu had very few options. The food was mediocre. The clam chowder was very good. My husband had The fish and chips and it was average but a very large portion and nice and hot. I had the grilled trout which was so thin it was impossible to not over cook it. I've never had trout that thin. The broccoli was over cooked and plain and the rice pilaf was lacking in flavor.
