The customer service was great! Good environment for family and the food is delicious

We've been a few times before. The second to last time we were not impressed, but they told us they were very short-handed so we let it go and tried again. This time we got the same waiter as last time, Tracey, and had more problems. The smallest problem was that there were no gummy fish in the fishbowl. The rest of the issues were as follows. He never offered to refill drinks. We had to ask to refill the lemonade after it had been empty for a bit. We ordered hamburgers medium and medium rare. Neither showed up with any pink in the middle. None of the food was cold, but none of it was warm either. We ordered chicken tenders and got Chicken Alfredo. He took the Alfredo back and said he'd get the tenders for us, but the rest of us finished our meals before it came so we had him cancel the tenders. On the upside we did get to watch an angler catch a bunch of trout right outside our window. So two stars because the ambience was good. read more

To get your attention, 1 point shorted. The ramp and stairs outside that lead to the parking lot need to be lit for nighttime use. Our server and food was all fine at our table. We had lots of just plain fussy, picky eaters in our group. I apologize that they even tagged along The prices were moderate and the quality fantastic. I liked the jalapeño cornbread, my KC steak grilled to my liking. The luscious Key Lime pie was huge and took me 3 days to finish! I am so pleased your establishment was easily accessible at the end of the Branson Landing (which is exclusively for able-bodied diners only.) read more

We went as a family group of 12. 7 adults and 5 kids. We were all happy with our food: service and the decor of this fish house. It was fun to watch folks do the zip line across Taneycomo. We would define return. And there was a 20% off coupon in the Branson Landing booklet. read more

The hubs and I wanted fish so we went to white river fish house. The workers were pretty friendly and the restaurant looked clean. I got a crab cake and the hubs got fish and chips. He said his food was good. Mine tasted like.....nothing. :/ Oh well. read more

Food was good, not great. Arrived just slightly warm. Our waitress wasn't very attentive when it came to refills, etc. My husband asked for a side salad with his meal instead of the coleslaw. When his meal arrived, the slaw was on the plate - a tiny amount in a condiment cup. Apparently it's not really a "side", so a salad couldn't be substituted for it. We were expecting an upcharge for a premium side (less than $4), but instead were charged for a half salad for a whopping $9. The waitress should have explained the salad couldn't be substituted for the slaw. We thought the price of most meals was fair - we were just shocked at the cost of ordering a side salad. The kids meals are super expensive however. The jalapeno cornbread muffins they brought out to us after we sat down were delicious! read more

White River Fish House is amazing! The views from inside our beautiful! The tables along the windows all face the river. The service is great and the food was delicious. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and welcoming. I had the bbq bacon wrapped shrimp and it was on point. If you're a seafood person and you're down at the Branson Landing this is definitely a stop you don't want to miss! read more

We sat outside on a nice but windy day, Danielle our waitress was good. The food was not good. The cornbread muffins at the beginning are the best thing we had. Fried pickles were a very small portion and extremely salty. The catfish, also a small portion for the price had no flavor and the fries were not even hot. Skip this place! read more

They had fried alligator in the past and it used to be plentiful and delicious! It's now served with only 6 tiny pieces on a very small plate!!!! Very disappointed!!! And a few of their fish filets with mounds of crabmeat on them is now gone as well! EXTEREMELY DISAPPOINTED as we frequented there a lot and asked for them to bring their fried alligator back after they stopped serving it. Now that they brought it back, it's smaller than ever! And more expensive!! It's a joke to serve someone this! And lastly, their cornbread used to be served unlimited quantity in a skillet, now a dried muffin and charge extra if you want to add a muffin to the table!! Save your money! We had been going here since they opened!!!! read more

Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Beautiful restaurant on the water with unique inside! Jalapeño Cornbread Appetizer: 3/5. Needed more flavor and honey. However, nice that it's free! Clam Chowder Appetizer: 4.5/5 with the cornbread. Cheese Curd Appetizer: 5/5! Best thing we got. Delicious sauce to come with. Spinach Dip Appetizer: 3.5/5. Didn't come with enough chips! Fish and Chips: 4/5. Fresh fish but a thick breading. Fries are a good but a little too much seasoning/too potato-y. Still recommend. Shrimp wrapped in Bacon: 5/5. A favorite item our group ordered. Sirloin we ask for a medium rare and it came well done twice. 1/5. I guess that's what you get ordering steak at a fish house! The rest of the entrees our group got were 3/5 or lower. read more

Good food. Good service. Fun atmosphere. I would easily come back or suggest it to others.

Came to eat here our last night of our stay here in Branson and first off the service was great. The ambience was so nice right next to the lake and so relaxed! And the food was great! Probably the best place we tried during our visit! read more

We are from Kansas in town for my birthday and I wanted fish so we decided to check this place out as it had some good reviews. It did not live up to the reviews. The corn bread, I'm glad it was free because it's not very good, calamari was not good, the Mahi Mahi was terrible! Way overpriced for the food. Our waitress was great and super nice! But walking out, there was about 5 people at the front desk, my fiance said "have a good night, thank you" to them and no one said anything back. Shrimp was good though read more

Had a Bass Pro receipt for $5.00 off on purchase. My bill lunch totaled $19.88. Waitress said manager would not approve. So I was 12 cents short and manager denied my Bass Pro benefit because my 19.88 lunch didn't meet the requirements. My table of 6 laughed at how poor that decision was. read more

Server was slllllooooooowwwww and the place was empty. We've gone here every year when we visit. They' used to serve skillets of jalapeño corn bread and you could always ask for more, no problem. They've switched to muffins now and if you ask for more they tell you it's 75 cents per muffin. After what they charge for what's essentially Red Lobster fare....we've probably gone for the last time. read more

Food was delicious. The inside has a great view but you have to get over the musty smell that accompanies an old building on the water. Service was surprisingly slow, even though we dined mid-day with a small number of other tables. We all ordered fish and it was cooked perfectly. read more

After a very long drive to get to Branson, my wife and I found this place. It was about twenty minutes before closing, but they said that we were welcome to come on in and eat. The restaurant looks great inside and out. The landscaping is immaculate and the interior is well decorated in its bass pro theme. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was comfortable. Our server wasn't thrilled to have another customer. She came to the table, asked a quick question and then rushed off. We couldn't ask questions. She took our orders and did a good job with accuracy. Although we had to ask for a couple of things twice. She brought the jalapeno cornbread, and it was excellent! We ordered a skillet spinach dip. It was not impressive. It was brought in a small shallow dish. There wasn't much of it, especially for the price. On top of that, it was loaded with some sort of hot spice. Way too much. The chips were over cooked. We ordered catfish dinners. The fries and slaw were good. Lots of fries and a very small dish of slaw. Two thin slices of catfish with a very thick coating of breading. The "homemade" tartar sauce was runny and tasted more like ranch dressing than tartar sauce. The dish was hot and fresh, but was a real disappointment for the price. I ordered an Ozarks iced tea cocktail and a glass of water. The cocktail was watery and tasted like cough syrup. It smelled like perfume. I was glad I had asked for water. There was no manager around to speak to. The server was in such a rush we couldn't ask her for assistance. I understand this is a tourist attraction, but even people on vacation expect a lot more for their money. An appetizer, two catfish dinners and a cocktail for $80? It better be good, especially with so much competition. This place looks great, but you can do a whole lot better for the price. Especially in Branson! read more

this was an absolutely awesome experience from the dining to the service. Ariana was an outstanding server - incredibly friendly and attentive the entire time. Duval, the general manager, came around to everyone's table to check on us. we ordered fish tacos, fried shrimp and crab crusted grouper and it was all superb. we also got fried alligator with remoulade as an appetizer and it was very flavorful and delicious. the complimentary jalapeno cornbread was awesome as well. in addition, they don't shortchange you on the drinks either- I had a great pina colada with the right amount of rum and mix. nothing took too long to receive. the place is very clean and has fantastic views of the lake. looking forward to c9ming back the next time. read more

Went here for lunch with Hubby and a friend. Hubby had really wanted to go because he had heard good reviews. I was underwhelmed. Disappointing that they don't offer a lunch menu (even on weekdays). We ordered meals - I got the fried shrimp and fries. It also came with coleslaw. The food was nothing special. Like something you could heat up in the oven at home. The prices are high for average food. They do have jalapeno cornbread served at the table and that was tasty! Hubby got shrimp tacos and did enjoy them. Our server checked in and made sure all was well. She was friendly and helpful. read more

My family, and I all ordered something different. Calamari, fish and chips and the mahi mahi meal. The food was EXCELLENT! The ambiance and service was perfect for an on the lake restaurant. Terrible food it was raw we saw people next to us and they had their steak raw I thought they were just complaining but no they were right. And my drink was left on the counter and it was watered down by the time I got it. That just shows how slow the service was but the inside was nice I did like it before I got my food and drink. And I ordered a burger and it took forever to come out and my family got catfish and it tasted raw so they didn't want to eat it and we were on vacation so I was hoping for a nice restaurant but no don't ever eat here read more

Food was very good. I had catfish the wife had a cob salad. Our waitress was very nice. We even used our Cabela card to get points. This place is built on a barge over the water which makes it somewhat unique. Highly recommend. read more

Service was excellent. Kristy promptly acknowledged our group. She kept the drinks refreshed And checked in on us. There were two things that could have been better. The salmon dish was terribly over cooked and it would have helped to have removed dirty dishes. read more

First I'd like to thank this restaurant for agreeing to sit my family party of 10. We came in not realizing they were closing so soon, and the servers were sweet enough to say they could squeeze us in! We drove from Arkansas to go to Silver Dollar City, and after a day of rides, we were exhausted and very hungry. The service was great. We ordered crawfish tails and jalapeño cornbread. Me, not a fan of spicy things, I wasn't too excited to taste it, but after my dad suggested I did, I was happily surprised at how delicious (and non spicy) it was! I had ordered the shrimp Bonetti, and it was spectacular. I loved the decor to pieces it made me feel like I was at someone's vacation home on the lake. The outside was super cool as well, with the fog from the hot and cold air mixing. Next door, they had ziplining, which was really neat as well. read more

The clam chowder and fish and chips are our favorite in Branson. We are on a diet, so I asked for a salad instead of the chips. We love the jalapeno corn bread. The server was quick and attentive. While the service and place was super cute, one of my s/o's parents thought the salmon was dry and my s/o was ok with with his meal. I had the clam chowder and, even my s/o thought it was the best out of everything. I would definitely go for the view, the service and the location. read more

Interesting old sportsman decor. Staff pretty friendly and attentive. Grilled trout was very good, but I questioned the natural ess if the pink color. My salad suffered from a surfeit if cranberries and almond slices. The cheese gave it a mushy texture as well, but the salmon topping was good. read more

Below average food not worth the prices. We had a party of 6 with a variety of orders. The best meal was the trout almandine with rice pilaf. The sweet cornbread at the beginning of the meal was the standout, everyone enjoyed. Fish and chips was ok but had a thick breading. Mahi platter was too salty to eat, it was covered in a salty sauce, just awful. That about sums it up. Bland, meh food. I would skip this place. read more

My grilled shrimp was pretty good a bit overcooked but flavor was good. My wife's brown sugar glazed salmon was dry & overcooked with NO glaze whatsoever. Service was ok but not great. White River Fish House - Sweet jalapeño Corn Bread and Iced Tea - Seafood Near Me - Branson, Missouri

Unassuming from the outside - hell, the outside actually looks a little scary. When you get inside, it's largely an older clientele, but that's ok. Our server (Angel) was exactly that. She treated us great, and we could not have asked for more. When we asked what was in the smoked fish dip, she brought us a sample - it's totally worth ordering. The salads were great, the blackened fish and shrimp was incredibly tasty, and the cheese curds were wonderful. Unfortunately, the cornbread was dry and lacked flavor and moisture, and the famous fish sandwich was a huge disappointment. It was basically a dry and grilled version of a McD filet o' fish. Overall, fun place with mostly decent food. read more
