For a relatively small place... they charge a lot considering, 189.00 for 4 days, 3 nights. Most of the amenities are not useable (according to the website when we booked our site)for kids, but you can reserve the pool.... that caught me off guard... covid isn't it fun! Took the only person working the counter 15 minutes to get off the phone and assist me checking in, while traffic was backing up with more people trying to do the same. The reservation email says check in time 12pm, but be prepared to pay an extra 20 dollars as that is early check in... doesn't say that on their website, nor in the email we received when booking and paying in advance. Apparently 3pm is their standard check in time. Ps the cards to swipe the gate are of utmost importance so don't lose them or it'll cost you another 10 dollars., at least according to the girl at the counter, repeatedly and had to sign a waiver stating as such. Their new WiFi they suggest you try is sub par at best and not working at about 99% of the time and did not come with a password either, because it's not locked and not worth using. You can purchase over price items from their store in the handout by calling first and then picking up. The site where we were placed is a cross between pea stone and gravel ish... level ish and dirty ish. Cigarette butts and a dirty bird poop and pine sap covered table. I will say it's nicely shaded, the trees are adult and full! I did not enjoy cleaning up the freshly cut tree and tree trimmings and wading through poison ivy, and this site is definitely not even close to being dog friendly I actually haven't seen a patch of grass anywhere on the loop we were put. There is a dog park fenced in as you pull in from the main road looks nice, our dog is senior so we won't be needing that.... and it's super open so in the afternoon it would be blistering sun, I suggest using it in the morning. So far it's been fairly quiet but it's a Thursday and this place is pretty lean people wise, which is all I am really looking for. As we found last night, no one seems to care about quiet hours after 10pm or early in the morning before 8am, people across the way in another loop thank you. The bathrooms by us are unisex single toilet and sink, they aren't immaculate, but I can confirm that they do not keep up with the minimum cleanings they state they are doing on their website and handout, with as many people using and waiting to use. With all this covidness, this place does absolutely nothing to help with social distancing and enforcement of masks or keeping people 6ft apart. The pool was packed full of people, play ground full of kids, full on congregation of people at the office buying ice cream and what not, horse shoe pits and pavillion just to many people considering the day and age we are currently living in. The people staying on the other side of the crick from us were absolutely foul about 20 of 24 hours of the day with the barking dog, yelling woman and man, to the screaming child..... to the blasting stereo, where we could no longer hear ours. We definitely won't run or walk back here, but hey always try a new place right? Just not this place and should you decide to take a whack at this place, make sure your paid for amenities are useable aka gray water pipe was kindly filled with rocks!!!

We are right on the river/stream and it's been the most peaceful place I've been in CT, and I've lived here for 24 years I can't wait to hopefully experience more parks like this one! I'll update post with pictures on a nice day

I've been a seven year seasonal camper at Branch brook. A new owner took over a couple years ago…read morewith new management. Over the past two years it has slowly gone down hill. The biggest problem is the workers from out of state that take up living there because it's the cheapest way to live while they are up here working. Now that's ok, if, and that's a really big "if", the owner and the management enforced the rules. Unfortunately they do not. Parked on the sites they live at, is their travel trailer or fifth wheel, Very long construction trailer, make shift tents, their cars and their diesel trucks. You will be woken up anywhere from 4 am to 6 am when they start up those diesel trucks. There are some management that live on-site and do nothing to stop any of this for the family's that actually are regular campers. two years ago this place was packed with LONG TIME seasonal campers. All have left but maybe 4 or 5 . Not for anything, how about a little common courtesy. I have asked the owner to please have them park where us real campers won't be disturbed at this hour of the morning. He kept saying he will have them park in a designated area so this doesn't continue, but that never happened. For the most part, they are nice people, I don't directly blame them. This is something the owner and management should address. The owner himself told me he has bigger fish try fry. Well those words speak loud and clear. So the bottom line is, If you are from out of state and come to Branch brook to live while you are working in this area, by all means, this is the place to go. If you are looking to camp with your family for a weekend, a week, a month or longer.....I give you heads up....stay away. it is nothing more than a glorified storage facility. Very pricey for what you actually get. Instead of hearing children laughing and families around the campfire making memories and eating smores, All you hear are diesel trucks driving around campground, car's being worked on, garbage all over the place and dog poop EVERYWHERE. I do have pictures to back up my statement in case you might be thinking I have nothing better to do but complain , but when you've made a life at this place for 7 years and now it's turned into this, it's actually very sad.

The WiFi was great and the owners were very kind and helpful! Spots looked a little tight but we got in fine. Only issue we ran into was with water - the plumbing they installed is insufficient for the amount of people using the water (too small of pipe size installed underground). Due to this, the water pressure disappears during busy times of day (mornings and evenings). If you turn on your pump to supplement the water and just remember to refill the tank before leaving, you'll be fine. Overall, a great spot for a safe place to sleep.

We called a total of 3 times about this spot since it was "cash only" and the 3rd time we were informed we wouldn't be able to stay due to the spot being occupied by the previous party who had yet to leave. We were set to arrive at 4pm and were 4 hours in to a 6 hour drive and were forced to pull over on the side of the road in the rain to attempt to find last minute reservations elsewhere. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere with a little more security instead of someone who just changes their mind and doesn't have the decency to call and let people know ahead of time.

I debated between 3 stars and 4 stars for this campground. I've been to a few better kOAs and quite…read morea few worse. I granted the 4th star based on how well run and managed the place is. It started when we made our reservation back in December of 2024. The place was closed for the season and my phone call went straight to voicemail. Within a few hours I got a call back and we had our reservation in place. Excellent Customer service. This was our first timne staying longer than 5 days at any campground. As I write this we are 7 days into a 9 day stay. This 9 day stay was startig in the memorial day weekend, so I made my reservation early. In fact I was a little worried because we spent the Friday of the long weekend at a campground near Buffalo NY and arrived here on Saturday where the party had already started. Check in was quick and easy along with being friendly. Our site, while gravel packed was perfectly level and really clean. It will be just as clean when we leave. The place was already packed for the holiday weekend. 2 years ago we stayed at a KOA near Washington DC on this holiday weekend. While that camground was really nice it was overrun by inconsiderate guests who aren't regular campgrounds. This place was crowded, but we still had a great time with little to worry about. There is about 10 times the normal amount of dogs in the campground this week and for the first time we are one of them. There is a national agility championship going on and many are staying here. By nature of the event these dogs are really well trained and having all of these dogs here hasn't been an issue. I mentioned our spot was perfect and easy to get hooked up. Its close to the office/store, the pool and bathhouses. IT is the beginning of the season and the pool is cold! But it is clean and super cared for. Can''t fault them for the cool spring! Bathrooms are important to me as we have a pop up. It has a shower, but with my mobility impairments showering in the camper isn't easy. This place has 4 bathrooms near us and one is labeled for handicap access. All of the bathrooms are clean, stocked, and in good condition. Because of the dirst roads the bathroom floors get dirty/muddy during the day, but they clean them twice a day it looks like. Other reviews will ding them for not having floor mats down, but your still walking on dirt there. Wear Shower shoes. 3 of the bathrooms have plenty of shelfs so you don't have to put your stuff on the floor. Oddly, the 4th bathroom , the handicappped one doesn't have shelfs but I made do. What it does have is a tub, grab bars, and a shower head that is as high as my 6'1 head. That is important to me as I have spinal fusion and find getting my head under shower heads that are at 5' very difficult. Plenty of hot water and it was well stocked. I am an early riser and was able to use this bathroom almost every day. On the first Saturday of the trip some lady was giving all 8 of her kids a bath at once, so I had to use one of the other. The office/store at first appears to be small, but there is a second room and everytime I needed something, I found it at a reasonable price. During our 9 day stay I walked down several times to get some ice cream treat and was greeted warmly each time. During the week we had a few clear nights and there was a pretty decent dark sky so we had a lot of stars to see and having a new moon helped. Also i am now using their wifi which was pretty good after the masses left! A minor negative point since I mentioned dark skies. The pool and kiddy pool are very nice and clean, but for some reason they put an EXCESSIVELY bright light shining on the kiddy pool at night. I'm sure it is for safety reasons, but jets heading to Boston Logan might mistake itfor a runway. Coming back to our camper from bathhouse is was blinding enough that I couldn't see the road unless I shielded my eyes. I would suggest a shroud around the light so they could keep the pool lit up and not have so much stray light. That really is my biggest complaint so I guess I am having a good time. The place was in a convienent location and we visited many historical sites when we weren't involved with agility stuff. IT was my wife and I , our daughter and family. (6) I would stay here again.

I spoke with the campground manager, Brian, and told him that there were clogged toilets and some of the showers weren't working. The folks who work at the KOA are SOOOO friendly and helpful. They greeted us when we arrived, gave us maps and codes to the bathroom/shower building, and hooked us up with wood and a small axe to cut it with! The Retro RV was absolutely charming. Based on other reviews, we came equipped with cleaning supplies. I think that the RV was sufficiently campground clean. There was no visible dirt, or stains anywhere and no off-putting odors. Nevertheless, we still cleaned the whole RV, especially the floor. I'm including this because I believe that the RV's sanitation would be adequate for most campers but you will have to invest a little elbow grease if you're a neat-freak like me. The RV had a pot and frying pan, plates, cups, utensils and really basic kitchen stuff. There was a cute little coffee pot, coffee and tea. There was a heater and an AC (or maybe it was a fan?), but we didn't use either during our trip the first weekend of October. The bed had vinyl padding that was in sections. We brought a queen sized mattress topper and cozy sleeping bags that fit perfectly over the vinyl and made it feel like home. I believe the vinyl padding would have been annoying to sleep on directly as it would have moved around and sagged in parts. Outside of the RV was a deck with a small table and chairs. We moved the chairs to the fire-pit and sat spent the bulk of our time sitting around it. We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. I was especially delighted to discover that the RV had wifi! I hoped to write on my laptop sitting by the fire and the wifi sure helped a ton! Our favorite part of staying at this KOA was exploring Brattleboro. The town is incredible, quaint, hippie-ish and friendly. We loved the town so much that we were sold on the entire state of Vermont (this camping trip was our first time to the state). Conversely, the other campers at the campground seemed to be a bit more conservative for our taste. Compared to all of the rainbows in town our fellow campers had bumper stickers and flags that had less welcoming flair. It almost doesn't feel right to dock a star from this KOA because of the expressiveness of other campers, but I got the impression that this was the norm.
