Our family loves Cozy Hills! We have been going for 2 summers and had a great experience. It has affordable prices, the sites and bathrooms are very clean, there are tons of fun activities to do and the pool is a hit with my kids! Each week they have different themes during the summer, and there are so many free activities included with the stay. Every activity costs extra money, they do not allow teenagers to congregate or have any socialization ( even if well behaved) and they will be upset if you have your radio on after 10pm at a level 3. We don't have a lot of experience camping, but recently pitched a tent next to our friend's RV for an overnight stay. The children had a wonderful time; the adults also enjoyed, but not quite as much. Pros: - Rick and Jenni, the archery instructors, are AMAZING! They are patient and kind, and absolutely top notch at both teaching beginners and helping those who are more advanced improve. I believe they teach / coach elsewhere, as well. - The bathrooms at the front are spotlessly clean. There are showers available there, which we didn't use for our overnight stay, but as a probably OCD germaphobe, I wouldn't hesitate to use these. - There are fun activities scheduled at various times, most for an additional fee, e.g. laser tag, climbing (free standing towers, not a true wall), bingo, a giant slide, an arcade (with most games costing $1 or a quarter). - There's a pool that opens up when it's warmer, a basketball court, horseshoes, gaga, several playgrounds. - There's a beautiful camp store chock full of toys and beverages, ice cream, souvenir t-shirts, kiln dried firewood, etc... A bit spendy, predictably, but not too bad. Cons: - There is a two night minimum to stay and it's quite difficult to reserve for holiday weekends. - Although the campground prominently advertises as being dog friendly, guests of those staying at the campground are technically not allowed to bring dogs. Our friends had to get special dispensation for us to bring ours. - Pitching a tent next to an RV costs an additional $100 or so -- which may or may not be steep. RV camp sites are packed in very close together, so don't go with a huge expectation of privacy. - I know this is a common rule at CT campsites, but dogs must be on leash at all times, except in the small dog run area. That was pretty tough for our little girl, even for an overnight trip, since she usually has a lot more freedom and is quite good at staying close. I wasn't able to find established trails in the surrounding wooded areas, so there aren't many places to walk the pups, except around the thickly populated campground. Luckily, it's fairly large. - This may be a pro for some, but was it was definitely not for us: Many people seem to bring or rent golf carts, which they use to transport themselves to locations barely 100 feet away. I understand why this may be necessary for those with disabilities, but most folks in golf carts appeared to be relatively hale and healthy. Pedestrians around the site had to be on the lookout and ready to jump aside at all times. Would we go again? Probably not. All the activities are fun for the kiddos, but we prefer more wilderness and less people. CORRECTION: We've been told by our children that we WILL be going again, actually. My mistake! But the grownup parts of the "we" still prefer more wilderness and less people.... read more

Our family camping trip to Cozy Hills was a great time! The cabin we rented was clean and well stocked. The pool was well maintained and the staff was helpful. They don't call it cozy hills for nothing- it's very hilly and the kids complained about that when trying to ride bikes. Unfortunately, because of covid, we didn't get the full experience because activities were cancelled. We will definitely be coming back though! read more

We just joined as seasonal campers and our kids immediately made friends, joined events, and we got involved in activities right away. Plenty to do and see within the campground and even outside of the campground in the surrounding towns. People were friendly and helpful since we are new to camping and new to the campground. Mini rant. NEVER stay at Cozy Hills Campgrounds in Litchfield CT!! I made reservations last week for this coming weekend for the UAD event in Bridgewater CT and received this email last week: "Hello Ed, We received your message from Wednesday night asking to stay a couple nights on the 16th. Below is a confirmation of a stay that was booked with your name. Feel free to call us if you need to ask questions or make changes to this reservation below. Regards, XXXXXX Front Desk - Cozy Hills" Now I would assume that this "confirmation of a stay that was booked with your name" was indeed a confirmation (what else?) of my site reservations for this weekend. But OH NO, apparently according to the email I received today, three days before I am to arrive, this was only a confirmation of a booking quote??!! WTF I camp almost every weekend across multiple states and have NEVER heard such BULL SHIT!! Three days, three days before we are to arrive and no place to stay!!! F&%$ Cozy Hills, I made a reservation at Bear Creek in Bristol just like the past years. I will post this everywhere I can find to rant about such poor customer service!!! Large wooded sites. Friendly helpful staff that escorted us to the site and assisted backing our 35 ft travel trailer into the site. Clean, free showers and bathrooms in the main building with small store and nice cafe with good food. Pool was clean and well kept but only 3.5 ft deep. Only downside is outhouse toilets if you don't go to the main building. We will be staying here again. read more

After four years of camping here, beginning while the place was small and up and coming the owner's attitude towards the guests has changed. Today our children were exposed to pepper spray which was apparently sprayed by pepper spray. Rather than looking for the person(s) responsible the owner decided to accuse the children's parents because they are "law enforcement". Totally rude / non empathetic towards the parents but more importantly to the children ranging in age from 3-13. They are more concerned with selling their product than the safety and happiness of the guests. Apparently they only like police during first responder week, a promotion that brings them money. The rest of the year the police are the first people suspected of pepper spray their own children. read more

We had blast minus the owner who is NOT willing to go the extra mile to make sure the numerous campers staying on her property are happy and taken care of. This campground has improved 110% over the past few years. The grounds and buildings are very clean and well maintained. We stayed in one of the cabins and found it to be just perfect for our weekend trip. The cafe has a wide variety of food choices and the quality seems to be very good. The best part of the weekend was the outdoor movie in the brand new athletic field. We hope to come back and play some laser tag and try the pool. Always something going on to entertain everyone,whether it's playing bingo,fishing,going down the red neck water slide ,swimming,playing horseshoes/cornhole or trying out archery,absolutely no reason to be bored!! Cozy Hills is a nice campground with the exception of their WiFi system. They tell you when you check in events are posted online. The WiFi is surrounded by trees blocking the wifi reception. So if your planning on WiFi service here don't. You won't get it read more

We have stayed at the Cozy Hills Campground twice in the last two years, we really enjoy the the beautiful wooded campground sites with lots of shade, we love the shade! Also the facilities are very nice and the bathrooms and showers at the main building are super clean and in very good repair, even the portable restrooms are in good shape. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and there are activities for the kids to do including laser tag, a pool and a nice playground. I have taken one star away from this review due to the 12 acre pond, it's really unusable for boating or fishing due to the heavy amount of algae and the water does not look visually pleasing. Highly recommend Cozy Hills Campgrounds as long as you don't plan on using the 12 acre pond. read more

Very accommodating with arrival and departure times and any other oddball requests we had. Accidentally left with borrowed DVD from library and they we're so easy-going about it (having nephew drop it off next week). Arcades are cheap and fun; pool super clean and big, sites from tent to 44' fifth wheel! Kids had a great time fishing in the pond (though has a lot of algae). All around great place with the nicest people we have come across camping. And the bathrooms are pristine. Highly recommend. Even brought in our cat and walked him around on leash lol. read more

Nice campground with good size sites. In my opinion, the friendliness of the staff is a split. The people in the office/store are short, cold and don't want to be there., whereas the "outside" staff is very friendly and helpful. The out houses need some help. the main building is very nice. If you don't bring your own firewood, "as they request" bring a credit card. VERY expensive for what you get. cost us $90.00 for wood for 2 nights! We didn't have a bon-fire, just 2-3 small pieces at a time. Overall a good weekend. Just bring some "Happy Pills" to the office crew and tell them to enjoy life or find another job. We planned a trip to Cozy Hills Campground to celebrate our daughters 4th birthday. We booked six sites that the owner/staff selected to accommodate the needs for each of the families making the trip (i.e. travel trailer, pop-ups, and tents). From the moment we all arrived we loved our stay. Each of the staff were professional, funny and extremely helpful. The campground was clean, had nice tree covered sites and a playground the kids spent hours playing on. Those who visited the on premises cafe raved about it. As funny as it was for our 4 year old girl to want to have a family camping princess party, it was the perfect place for it. The owner was extremely helpful with some last minute arrangements that we requested to make her day, the perfect day. We WILL be going back and STRONGLY recommend this campground. read more

I was extremely impressed with the amount of upgrades that have been done over the last couple of years. Our last trip a few years back was dismal. Outhouses that smelled horrible, kids peeing in bushes at the playground and swearing. Just not the best. But watching them post their updates on Facebook made me give them another shot. So happy I did. The staff is fantastic! Super friendly and kind. The addition of the "drive in" movies is awesome! The carnival themed weekend was great. The kids had so much fun and it was incredibly well run! We rented a cabin and we were so impressed! Clean, roomy, well stocked with the essentials. We added an air mattress to make the bed more comfortable. Wish the bathroom was a tad roomier but that is minor. Also wish the shower head moved more. Being short, it was difficult to get the water to get on me as it shot over my head. And my daughters even shorter. Maybe a movable shower head on a rod so you can slide it up and down. We could have done without the visit from Yogi Bear passing through, but kiddos to the seasonal campers who took action calling the office to report him and another who started screaming and making a ton of noise to chase him away. But it's bound to happen, you are in the woods. Can't wait to say we are going back. Thank you Cozy Hills for making this campground so awesome! read more
