This campground used to be one of the highlights of my summer, then got bought out by a corporation this year when we came for our annual Fourth of July camping trip. The bathrooms were disgusting the wood that they force you to buy was wet as in green not as in been rained on the pool was down the snack bar has been closed all while doubling. The prices of everything in the store is the same footprint with a different experience. All around everyone who I talk to seem to feel the same way and if this is their start, I would hate to see how the experience further's. We will be back for Labor Day only because if you cancel your reservation, they charge you 10% no matter how long it was

    Two happy choppers

Extremely helpful staff. We ran out of gas and they loaned us some to make it to our campground. The owner guided us to our tent site and let us borrow a flashlight over night. Tent neighbors were so kind helping us with the fire. By 11 pm not a sound from any campers. After night one we decided to transfer to the cabin. The staff accommodated and for an extremely low price. They have great beer, wine, and snack selection. We couldn't ask for more! Cleanest bathrooms I've been to at a campground. They are very on top of Covid-19 precautions.

Granville State Forest is a beautiful preserve offering great easy hiking, wonderful campgrounds,…read morefishing, and the ability to commune with nature. The Hubbard River, a fairly wide and fast flowing body of water, is followed by a paved closed road that formerly lead to a now defunct campground. This route crosses the entire park - which is about three and a half miles. The path is fairly level and is easy enough even for children, and the paved road is handicapped accessible for a powered chair or scooter. It wasn't crowded at all on a sunny Sunday, and I enjoyed this place tremendously.

It's a 1.5 mile forest loop of pretty much easy difficulty. The terrain is mostly flat with just a few small inclines. The path transitions from pine needles to grass to heavy leaves and is mostly unencumbered, save for a few rocky patches, some tree roots, and muddy tire tracks here and there. We parked at the State Forest Headquarters, traveled North on the HQ Trail N, turned left onto the Corduroy Trail, turned left on the CCC trail, and completed the loop by taking another left onto the HQ Trail S. All of these trails were clearly marked with fantastic signage and blaze markers. It was amazing to us how after about ten steps into the trail, you are in total solitude in the woods. We didn't see another human being during our 1.5 mile hike. The forest scenery is very pretty, but there wasn't a lot to see -no waterfalls, almost no water views, no cool rock formations, and just one lonely footbridge over a swampy section. For a low impact introductory hike, this really suited our needs.

It had water and electric and great views of the woods, a little creek below and it offered the right amount of privacy. We really enjoyed our stay here. We stuck mostly to our site for the two nights we were here. There is a pool, it's small but decent on site although next to the busy road. There is a rec hall but doesn't have much to offer except for a Ping pong table, an old piano and some table and chairs. It's pretty outdated and run down as are the bathrooms although clean and plenty of hot water. The store on site in the office has a few things on the shelf but shouldn't rely on getting things there. There is a country store few miles down the road, Katie's which has everything, butcher shop, beer, wine, fresh baked pies and pretty much anything you can think of. The outhouse/ports potty up in the Maple Hill site area is very clean and was fine to use. CJ who runs the place and lives on site is great and is happy to help if you need something. Overall we loved the site we were on, there were some on Maple Hill that were wooded and secluded as well, H is halfway from office/pool to end so great location. If you are looking for a place to just hang out on your site, enjoy the woods and camping experience without running from activity to activity you find at other resorts and don't need a lot of frilly things then it's a good place for you.

The automated gate reads your car tag and knows to open for guests w/o needing a code or card to enter. This RV park does offer a small tent area with a bath house close by, although the tent site was empty at the time of our visit. It does appear each site offers a picnic table, as do the RV sites. The RV sites are all 'back in' style, no 'pull thru' sites. There is just enough space between rigs to park your 450. The rig backed up to tree trunks, providing some shade to the site, while not allowing this toy hauler to open it's back deck. There is a small space behind the truck for the picnic table and a few folding chairs. The roads here are dirt throughout, including the sites and on this dry summer day a good bit of dust was kicked up every time a vehicle drove by. My hosts mentioned the 5mph speed limit is easily kept because the rutted roads keep you moving slow. There is a small pool to enjoy with family that is entirely enclosed in a high chain link fence. A bath house is located right next to the pool, outside the fenced area. There is also a large, covered pavillion by the office with picnic tables. My hosts tell me the park offers family fun events on weekends in this area. We walked the grounds and see they offer seasonal spots grouped together in a shady area off to one side of the park. Folks have really set up outdoor living spaces in this area. We even saw a shed on one site. There are a good amount of trees at the edges of the short term RV area offering partial shade so many of the sites. A few are full sun. The park is seasonal. Facilities are well maintained (pool, bath house, picnic pavillion). Dumpsters are available for guest use across from the office. My SO looked at renting a cabin here to spend more time visiting with our hosts. The cabins he saw on their website do not offer bathrooms en suite which for him was a non-starter. Also, according to him, you send an email for pricing? I didn't look. Hope this info helps. Happy adventuring.

Lots of activities including karaoke,…read moreconcerts, swimming pool, soccer field etc etc. WiFi, electricity and water is right by your camp site. The bathrooms are clean. The bad - some camp sites are so small and right next to others. My friend booked two different camp sites for our group of 4 adults and 4 kids, and my camp site was double her size. She wasn't able to fit her second vehicle so they had to give her the second site next to her to park in. The ugly - they give you one list of rules, none of which they enforce and then you have to sign a waiver. Our camp neighbors, right up under us had 3 dogs off leash the whole time they were there, one of which was a pitbull that growled at my friends son when he was standing half way in the shadow. The dogs were on our site, and the owners were too busy chatting to even notice their dogs roaming and growling at kids. Not once did any of the staff driving around notice or care to have the owners leash their dogs. We had to keep telling them to control their dogs and keep them on their side. Another dog incident where a woman brought her dog to the bubble slip and slide activity for kids and her dog put down a steaming hot load of poop right next to where kids were playing barefoot and in bathing suit and she didn't pick it up. I had to call her to do it. Dogs shouldn't even be allowed in that area because of said reasoning. That's why kids not potty trained are not allowed in a pool without a swim diaper. There were sites with 5 tents and lots of people. We had 4 adults and paid for two sites because we thought we had two many people for one site, only to find that people cram 5 tents and lots of people because they don't want to pay for multiple sites. Bears roam around that place. I have been camping for years in the same city but another campsite and have never seen a black bear until this trip. People leave food around and black bears come through. Go at your own risk because no one follows the rules and presumably they don't enforce them because you sign a waiver. Black bears and unleashed dogs are not a good combination for the dogs, the bears or any humans in their path.
