There is a river across the road with a swimming hole my grandfather made by building up rocks year ago. The is the Toland state national park with a beach near by and the sweetest store named Katie's near there. The campground has a wonderful unground pool and a small rev hall with a jukebox, pool table and some table tennis... there are also clean bathrooms with nice showers. This place has some of my fondest memories!

It had water and electric and great views of the woods, a little creek below and it offered the right amount of privacy. We really enjoyed our stay here. We stuck mostly to our site for the two nights we were here. There is a pool, it's small but decent on site although next to the busy road. There is a rec hall but doesn't have much to offer except for a Ping pong table, an old piano and some table and chairs. It's pretty outdated and run down as are the bathrooms although clean and plenty of hot water. The store on site in the office has a few things on the shelf but shouldn't rely on getting things there. There is a country store few miles down the road, Katie's which has everything, butcher shop, beer, wine, fresh baked pies and pretty much anything you can think of. The outhouse/ports potty up in the Maple Hill site area is very clean and was fine to use. CJ who runs the place and lives on site is great and is happy to help if you need something. Overall we loved the site we were on, there were some on Maple Hill that were wooded and secluded as well, H is halfway from office/pool to end so great location. If you are looking for a place to just hang out on your site, enjoy the woods and camping experience without running from activity to activity you find at other resorts and don't need a lot of frilly things then it's a good place for you.

This review is from the perspective of visiting someone who rented an RV space here. I had no…read moreinteraction with staff. Guests park by the entrance, before the gate. The automated gate reads your car tag and knows to open for guests w/o needing a code or card to enter. This RV park does offer a small tent area with a bath house close by, although the tent site was empty at the time of our visit. It does appear each site offers a picnic table, as do the RV sites. The RV sites are all 'back in' style, no 'pull thru' sites. There is just enough space between rigs to park your 450. The rig backed up to tree trunks, providing some shade to the site, while not allowing this toy hauler to open it's back deck. There is a small space behind the truck for the picnic table and a few folding chairs. The roads here are dirt throughout, including the sites and on this dry summer day a good bit of dust was kicked up every time a vehicle drove by. My hosts mentioned the 5mph speed limit is easily kept because the rutted roads keep you moving slow. There is a small pool to enjoy with family that is entirely enclosed in a high chain link fence. A bath house is located right next to the pool, outside the fenced area. There is also a large, covered pavillion by the office with picnic tables. My hosts tell me the park offers family fun events on weekends in this area. We walked the grounds and see they offer seasonal spots grouped together in a shady area off to one side of the park. Folks have really set up outdoor living spaces in this area. We even saw a shed on one site. There are a good amount of trees at the edges of the short term RV area offering partial shade so many of the sites. A few are full sun. The park is seasonal. Facilities are well maintained (pool, bath house, picnic pavillion). Dumpsters are available for guest use across from the office. My SO looked at renting a cabin here to spend more time visiting with our hosts. The cabins he saw on their website do not offer bathrooms en suite which for him was a non-starter. Also, according to him, you send an email for pricing? I didn't look. Hope this info helps. Happy adventuring.

If you're looking for quite, small campground, this is it. Pet friendly, nice spacious sites. We loved the 40's area as they are more private and woody. Seasonal clients are friendly. Playground is small, bring activities, toys etc. Kids get bored fast. Small camp store ( early in the season so they will stock) I've enjoyed my stay as I like a campground that is not so busy. Thank you to maintenance and coordinator for all your help!

Lots of activities including karaoke,…read moreconcerts, swimming pool, soccer field etc etc. WiFi, electricity and water is right by your camp site. The bathrooms are clean. The bad - some camp sites are so small and right next to others. My friend booked two different camp sites for our group of 4 adults and 4 kids, and my camp site was double her size. She wasn't able to fit her second vehicle so they had to give her the second site next to her to park in. The ugly - they give you one list of rules, none of which they enforce and then you have to sign a waiver. Our camp neighbors, right up under us had 3 dogs off leash the whole time they were there, one of which was a pitbull that growled at my friends son when he was standing half way in the shadow. The dogs were on our site, and the owners were too busy chatting to even notice their dogs roaming and growling at kids. Not once did any of the staff driving around notice or care to have the owners leash their dogs. We had to keep telling them to control their dogs and keep them on their side. Another dog incident where a woman brought her dog to the bubble slip and slide activity for kids and her dog put down a steaming hot load of poop right next to where kids were playing barefoot and in bathing suit and she didn't pick it up. I had to call her to do it. Dogs shouldn't even be allowed in that area because of said reasoning. That's why kids not potty trained are not allowed in a pool without a swim diaper. There were sites with 5 tents and lots of people. We had 4 adults and paid for two sites because we thought we had two many people for one site, only to find that people cram 5 tents and lots of people because they don't want to pay for multiple sites. Bears roam around that place. I have been camping for years in the same city but another campsite and have never seen a black bear until this trip. People leave food around and black bears come through. Go at your own risk because no one follows the rules and presumably they don't enforce them because you sign a waiver. Black bears and unleashed dogs are not a good combination for the dogs, the bears or any humans in their path.

I debated between 3 stars and 4 stars for this campground. I've been to a few better kOAs and quite…read morea few worse. I granted the 4th star based on how well run and managed the place is. It started when we made our reservation back in December of 2024. The place was closed for the season and my phone call went straight to voicemail. Within a few hours I got a call back and we had our reservation in place. Excellent Customer service. This was our first timne staying longer than 5 days at any campground. As I write this we are 7 days into a 9 day stay. This 9 day stay was startig in the memorial day weekend, so I made my reservation early. In fact I was a little worried because we spent the Friday of the long weekend at a campground near Buffalo NY and arrived here on Saturday where the party had already started. Check in was quick and easy along with being friendly. Our site, while gravel packed was perfectly level and really clean. It will be just as clean when we leave. The place was already packed for the holiday weekend. 2 years ago we stayed at a KOA near Washington DC on this holiday weekend. While that camground was really nice it was overrun by inconsiderate guests who aren't regular campgrounds. This place was crowded, but we still had a great time with little to worry about. There is about 10 times the normal amount of dogs in the campground this week and for the first time we are one of them. There is a national agility championship going on and many are staying here. By nature of the event these dogs are really well trained and having all of these dogs here hasn't been an issue. I mentioned our spot was perfect and easy to get hooked up. Its close to the office/store, the pool and bathhouses. IT is the beginning of the season and the pool is cold! But it is clean and super cared for. Can''t fault them for the cool spring! Bathrooms are important to me as we have a pop up. It has a shower, but with my mobility impairments showering in the camper isn't easy. This place has 4 bathrooms near us and one is labeled for handicap access. All of the bathrooms are clean, stocked, and in good condition. Because of the dirst roads the bathroom floors get dirty/muddy during the day, but they clean them twice a day it looks like. Other reviews will ding them for not having floor mats down, but your still walking on dirt there. Wear Shower shoes. 3 of the bathrooms have plenty of shelfs so you don't have to put your stuff on the floor. Oddly, the 4th bathroom , the handicappped one doesn't have shelfs but I made do. What it does have is a tub, grab bars, and a shower head that is as high as my 6'1 head. That is important to me as I have spinal fusion and find getting my head under shower heads that are at 5' very difficult. Plenty of hot water and it was well stocked. I am an early riser and was able to use this bathroom almost every day. On the first Saturday of the trip some lady was giving all 8 of her kids a bath at once, so I had to use one of the other. The office/store at first appears to be small, but there is a second room and everytime I needed something, I found it at a reasonable price. During our 9 day stay I walked down several times to get some ice cream treat and was greeted warmly each time. During the week we had a few clear nights and there was a pretty decent dark sky so we had a lot of stars to see and having a new moon helped. Also i am now using their wifi which was pretty good after the masses left! A minor negative point since I mentioned dark skies. The pool and kiddy pool are very nice and clean, but for some reason they put an EXCESSIVELY bright light shining on the kiddy pool at night. I'm sure it is for safety reasons, but jets heading to Boston Logan might mistake itfor a runway. Coming back to our camper from bathhouse is was blinding enough that I couldn't see the road unless I shielded my eyes. I would suggest a shroud around the light so they could keep the pool lit up and not have so much stray light. That really is my biggest complaint so I guess I am having a good time. The place was in a convienent location and we visited many historical sites when we weren't involved with agility stuff. IT was my wife and I , our daughter and family. (6) I would stay here again.

I spoke with the campground manager, Brian, and told him that there were clogged toilets and some of the showers weren't working. Right now on Saturdays there's a farmer's market that I'm hoping to get a chance to visit. When you first enter the playground there's a basketball area to the side with a variety of different hoops at varying heights. The area for younger kids is just past the entrance. There are baby swings and 2 smaller pieces of play equipment that are great for toddlers. One is a fire truck that is perfect for kids that are just learning how to navigate playgrounds--in my experience ,a rare find. The second one is for kids 2-5, though younger kids would be fine with supervision. Past these playscapes, there's a music garden, a sandbox area (that has always been surprisingly clean every time we visited), and a couple other individual pieces for climbing on. After that there's a big slide down to a lower section with the big kid climber and swings. This one is for kids probably 5-12. It has some really fun obstacles to attempt to climb and get through. I had a fun time trying it out, but it wasn't really an area my toddler could navigate, even with careful supervision. I think it is great that this is really geared towards the older kids as sometimes the 5-12 play areas aren't as challenging as they could be and may get boring after a while. I would image that there are enough things to do in this area that it would keep an older child engaged for a while. There are trees to sit under and get some shade, as well as covered picnic tables.

Playground and splash pad for the kids! More shade and more chairs for the adults would be awesome.read more
